We have often asserted and we affirm it yet again that no fact in history is better attested than the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It must not be denied by any who are willing to pay the slightest respect to the testimony of their fellow men. That Jesus, who died upon the cross, and was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, did literally rise again from the dead. (excerpted from Dance Your Shoes Off, Second Baptist Church)

I know! I love it too. I am about ready to make the switch, even though I haven't bought any serving pieces for it yet. I can always sub in plain white pieces, etc.. It's so pretty. I love our current everyday dishes too (Wedgwood Sarah's Garden) but we've had them for almost 14 years now and I'm ready for a change.

My main china is Wedgwood Florentine in Turquoise
Wedgwood Florentine in Turquoise
Wedgwood brought this pattern out in different colors like a green and a yellow. I think turquoise was the original color and I think the only color still made. It can't be bought in the U.S. though. I have seen it in London and in Tokyo. |

Thanks, Busypea, that is good to know. We don't have Macy's stores here, but there is one less than an hour drive from me across the border.
I also promised myself I wasn't going to buy any dishes until my kitchen is done and I've decided what kind of colours I'm going with. But nice to know I can maybe get them on sale if I want to. That would be a great deal!

Windsong by Lenox. It's retired. My mom had 2 12-place
complete sets of Noritake china plus all the serving
pieces that my dad got in Japan in the 50's when he
was there on cruise with his submarine. Paid something
like $29 a set. I rarely use mine so didn't
get one of her sets when she passed away. |

I had Lenox Solitaire as my wedding china. 14 place settings, serving pieces, and sterling silver place plates. This was my trouseau. I choose it to go with my mother's china when we had big parties. She had Lenox, a white on white pattern with a silver rim. It is the only thing that I feel really bad about not getting when I divorced, but, then again, who would want the memories.
My mother gave me my grandmother's china. It is Noritake Bellemead. 12 place setting and serving pieces. It it perfect for me. I have replaced the sterling silver place plates and was given my mother's sterling silver goblets. I was also given my mother's sterling silver flatware. I polish
I use my china quite a bit. I use it for special occasions, celebrations and whenever I feel like it. I would say that my average is about 10-15 times a year.

No way, Iowa girl! So funny. I love square plates, too. My mom gave me a huge set a few years ago for my birthday, and I think one of the reasons she chose that pattern for me is because of the square plates. |

My china is no longer available. It is Calla Lily by Mikasa. It is all white with a raised calla lily design on one side. I have matching silver. My wedding flowers were calla lilies. We rarely use it. I do have a Christmas set by Spode. Our everyday is Fiesta ware. I really need to pull down the good china and use it more often! The pictures here are beautiful-love the turquoise place settings! I think I may inherit my mom's china that was passed down to her from her mom. It's red and white-kind of like a toile design.I can't remember the name of the design or company.

I have a Noritake set Espana. I had side dishes but they are long gone. My father bought it when he had cataracts. It's very strongly geometric to make up for his lack of colour sense.
Noritake
I keep it because he bought it for me.
Edited. I used to have the sugar bowl and milk jug in storage, I wonder if I still do I liked the sugar bowl.

Oh lordy, I am such a bogan!! I don't have any 'good' china. I don't really have any need for good china, and to be honest (don't hate me LOL!) I really dislike patterned china. It looks really old fashioned to me, and I prefer modern stuff.
My everyday dinner sets are bright colours - 2 each of green, yellow, orange and blue. Certainly NOT to everyone's taste! Next time I buy a dinner set I will buy plain white and use it for everyday and also for 'good'.

For my good china I mostly use plain cream plates with a gold trim. They were frightfully expensive once, but I found then in an import shop. I wish I had bought more than just 4 settings. The 4 place settings hog the china cabinet though.

We registered for china, Lenox Solitaire, and received 3 place settings as gifts. Most of our guests went off registry, which we were totally thrilled by!
We only registered at the urging of my stepmother, who insisted we had to give people that option. Most of our guests gave us gifts they had chosen for us, and I have to say that since we were older than the typical just starting out types, was preferable. We already had a house, most basic furnishings, so our friends gave us fun things and thrills.
But, back to topic, we received 3 settings of our china. We decided not to shell out the money for the rest (though we were established in our household, we paid for most of the wedding ourselves, and the Honeymoon 100 % ), so we decided to return the china and purchase a coffee maker and some serving platters that we could put to use right away.
Several years later, we inherited a set of china, which takes up space in our dining room storage. We very rarely use it - it has eight dinner plates, but seven of all other plates, teacups, saucers, salad plates. So generally it would be overkill if we had a couple over, and not enough if we had more over. |

I have no idea. My MIL was so sad I didn't get any for my wedding, I got some hand me downs from 1 of her six sisters. It's white, grayish-silver with pinecones and says made in Japan. Not ugly, but sitting in my basement collecting dust.
p.s. I was a good DIL and never complained. She was just trying to be nice.
