This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for February 2013. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

My enthusiasm is still going strong. Really like the CHATTY PEAS prompts this month, and this weeks STASH BUSTERS as well. I am hoping I can incorporate some of these ideas and techniques into some of my pages this weekend. I also am excited to play with my new Anna Griffin cuttlebug and embossing folders (I have never done this before - so excited).

Hopefully I can post layouts more frequently throughout the month and not all at once like I did last time. My big problem is light source - I like to take photos of the layouts during daylight hours and since I work practically sunup to sundown that only leaves the weekend, and then I want to actually scrap, (gads I wish there were more time to do all I want to do - LOL)

Hello everyone! Feeling better and better each day-YAY even if the boys kept me up til 3:30 a.m. Thankfully my meds came when they did because a day or 2 later and I wouldn't have been able to do it.

Here's my first LO of February (usingg 3 of CHATTY SCRAPPERS challenges)
Mom's Christmas Goose

Off to fix the boys some breakfast although they seem to have a lot of energy without more food...LOL

Hey POKEY PEAS - was just reading all the wonderful praise you have left for me, want to thank you so much, how sweet of you all.

Nylene - you asked about a font it is a single line font I used on my Pazzles cutter, don't know what the name is right now, I will check when I get home. I thought it went really well with this layout. Thanks for asking.

Happy February all! I can't believe this year is going so fast already. It is a sunny day here and I am hoping to get some sun on my face. My dh is coming home sick with the flu and I gotta be nurse Kelly. Just hoping that I don't get it.

I still got that scrappin' bug. I want to scrap a few of the pics from last weekend and am having fun playing around with some ideas. I don't have the paper I need so been thinking of painting the paper. What about that? So I am going to try it today and see how I feel about it.

Oh, come and visit my blog. I posted a few pics of our anniversary date there.

Anniversary Pics

Nylene- Thanks as always for starting our new thread.

Pam- Thanks Pam! I am feeling the scrappin bug stronger than ever before. I am enjoying bouncing around to different crafts too. Did you see I have started crocheting? That has been fun too.

Debi- So glad you are feeling better! Also, the boys did have a great time! I remember those sleepovers when I was a teen and how fun they were. Good times for sure!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day!!!

I smell Chocolate in the new thread. After all, it will be Valentine's Day soon. I'm trying to lose weight, so maybe I should be smelling flowers instead.

Hope everyone is having a great day. Thanks for the new thread Nylene (my super heroine).

I finished scrapping the trip (will be posting more later). It ended up being 58 pages and 2 albums. I don't even want to think of the cost because it would make me shudder. I, also, went through 4 rolls of ATG tape. Ugh!

Hope everyone is scrapping.

Wow LINDA that's a lot of pages for a trip but that was one heck of a trip. I love all the historic tidbits you threw in. Even for 2 albums, you did a fantastic job and the memories are now well documented. Good job.

The boys have gone home, well mine are still here. It's 2 p.m. I'm ready for a shower and a nap (not necessarily in that order). ALl went well. They picked up their room and are now just hanging out. trying to encourage them to go to the park for a little bit to get some fresh air.

I feel like scrapping but I also need to rest. What will I do?

Maribeth, I love my cuttlebug. I've had the old one since it first came out. I have lots of embossing folders and use them constantly on cards. I know you'll have fun with them. Glad you are in the scrappy mood. I also use spellbinder dies and others in my cuttlebug. Couldn't make cards without it.

Kelly, your photos on your blog are wonderful. What a great way to celebrate your anniversary. I hope your DH gets over the flu quickly and that he doesn't give it to you. Take good care of both of you.

Pam, those Jamaica photos are gorgeous. A whole month in the sun....I'm dreaming of that! Glad you are back and I hope Sly makes his presence known soon so you don't worry. Those Tomcats!

Debi, I can't believe you managed the sleepover, and still scrapped. Glad it turned out well. I have a DGS who is turning 14 today. Boy, they grow up fast. Glad you are feeling some better.

Linda, 58 pages! Wow, you are the Queen! You haven't posted that many pages. I want to see more. What a great remembrance you have of that last trip. You have really put a lot of work into it. I can tell by the journaling that you have researched the sites too. I am so impressed!

Why is it that when I have my scraproom cleaned (can actually SEE the table tops), I can't resist the urge to scrap, and by the end of the day, it's a big mess again. I cannot make myself leave it clean. At least I get some scrapping done. I'll post the one I did today a little later.

Val, I hope you are getting settled and can drop in. We miss you.

I hope you all have a very scrappy month. We only have 28 days this month so we have to work fast!
Sending hugs to everyone!

Hello February

Linda, well done on finishing your albums on your trip I did 2 albums about our trip to New Zealand that we made in 2007. I loved doing every single layout, as I got to relive the trip all over again. I have left them in storage, but I loved looking through them. I hope you get lots of warm and fuzzy moments from looking through your albums too

Debi, I am so glad your meds are working so quickly for you ! I am glad the boys had a good sleepover, round two tomorrow night

We have another busy weekend ahead with get togethers. I am hoping to get the time to journal the first 3 weeks of my Project Life, I have put the photos and cards together already.

AJC'sMOM sewing is much harder than scrapping...take photos, we want to see.

LINDA yes by all means, post some more of your trip layouts.

MARIBETH you go girl, 2 challenges done already.

We all slept in today. I had to drag my kids out of bed around 11:30 a.m. LOL Good thing we didn't try 3 overnights in a row. They were a bit grumpy when I had them help me re-clean their room (after the last overnight) and vacuum to prepare for tonight's. They don't get the concept of starting "fresh" but now that it's done, I think they realise how much nicer it is to start in a clean room.

I did a bit too much today so feeling it. After running several errands, and the cleaning jag, my back was really hurting. Took some ibuprofen and an hour under the heated throw and I'm feeling revived. Now I need to go down and make Tacos for the boys. They and their friends have been playing Xbox non-stop now for 2 hours. Then it's putting out snacks, cleaning up the kitchen, and I can retire to my room while they play the night away.

So off I go, maybe i'll scrap later.

Hi Jen! Hope you get some time to scrap.

Angela, we want to see photos of your sewing projects. You can post the photo just like you do your layouts and we'll help you add a link here.
Sounds like some cute outfits.

Debi, I'd be dead tired after one all-nighter with guests. Two would put me in my grave, I'm afraid. You're a nice mom to do that especially when not feeling well. Hope each day is better.

Yes, Linda, post those pages!

I did one page today. It's super simple which is more my style anyway. I try to scraplift other styles, but when I just sit down to enjoy scrapping, it's always a simple, very linear page. I guess that really is my style.

Strings Attached -I just noticed I left a word out of the journaling. I'll have to pencil it in! Drats!!

Now to get my house picked up enough to have a scout meeting here tomorrow. I did take down my Christmas tree on Wednesday. I did some heavy duty cleaning afterward so there's not much left to do.

Hope you all have a nice weekend!

NYLENE you beat me getting your Christmas tree down but only by one day. LOL I still have some other Christmas decor to put away (my snowman collection, my village, the nativity scene, my santa claus collection, ...guess I still have a lot. I have WAY TOO MUCH Christmas stuff (21 boxes worth, I think). Oy! Good thing I have a large basement to store it all.

I like "your linear style" pages NYLENE. That style is very easy to do digitally too. Too bad we don't live closer together, I'd love to come scrap with you. And it sounds like your "expectations of a clean house" are loose enough that I'd be comfortable having you over too. There are much better things to do in life than merely keeping the house spotless. I am working on decluttering however. It is definitely time to get rid of stuff we no longer need or use.

Boys are having a great time...these 4 are much noisier than the last overnight group, but it's a happy noise.

Having the boys have kids overnight isn't really that hard. Much harder when I don't feel well, of course, but really normally I'd have the house in relatively clean order and then it's just providing food. The kids entertain themselves now, much different than the big theme parties I used to throw and some of them were doozies. I'd take overnighters any time. Besides it gives the boys a sense of independence to be allowed to stay up as late as they want, and I just stay out of the way as much as possible.

This particular subset of boys however will most likely stay up til 6 a.m. as they are very competitive with who can stay up the longest. Me? I enjoy my sleep, but since I haven't slept much more than 3-4 hours at a stint for a couple months, sleep is seen as a precious gift to me right now not something to be frittered away. But then I'm not 14 any more...

ok I'm off to watch a show online.

Just stopping in to say hello. I did a new page today. It's a photo that I LOVE of my dad & my son. It's one of those photos that is so precious I'm afraid that my scrapping skills could never do it justice...so I don't do anything with it. But I caught a vision & I think I like this page. Just a few more tweaks & shadows and it will be ready to post.

AJC's mom: please please post pics. We find inspiration from all crafts!

Linda-I can't believe how much you've gotten done. Having your whole trip scrapped will be such a treasure.

Debi-so glad to hear you are feeling better everyday!

Mom (Nylene), I love the string puppet page. I think your pages have more variety to them than you think.

Kelly, I was going to tell you something. And...I've blanked. Where's my brain these days?

I hope we'll hear again from some more of the newbies we picked up last month. We'd love to see what you've been working on or just hear how you're doing.

I'm typing on my phone so I think I'll call it quits here. Goodnight!

The boys crashed around 6 a.m. as predicted and are sound asleep now, sprawled out on the floor and couches in the boys' room. I suspect I'll have to rouse them in an hour for breakfast. But I know they had a good time...they were very active at 4 a.m. when I last peeked in on my way to/from the bathroom. LOL Oh to be young again.

I'm sitting cuddling under my blanket and enjoying the peace and quiet for now. Have to clean last night's dishes and start breakfast soon, but there's no real hurry.

Hope you all get some scrapping in today.

Here's a page I did last night before crashing myself.

Hey ladies! It is superbowl Sunday and I am looking forward to the game and the commercials. You all would be so proud of me. I really stretched my scrappin skills and have fun too. I didn't have the colors of cs so I decided to paint the paper! That was so fun! And it was perfect for my pictures about the ocean and the bay. I wrote a desciption on all of what I did on this first lo. Boy, I did all kinds of techniques. I will be sharing the other pages tomorrow.

The Bay

Angie- I hope you remember what you wanted to ask me. LOL!

Nylene- Thanks! Dh is feeling better and I am still hoping it doesn't get me. Also, so glad you love our anniversary pics on my blog. You would love this place too. Lots of palm trees.

Maribeth- Thanks! Glad you enjoyed my blog pics, too.

Linda- Even though I have been on a scrappin trend, I haven't forgot about my beloved cards. In fact I am working on some today. Girl, you have been scrappin up a storm. That is a treasured 2 albums you will enjoy forever. Great job!

Debi- So glad your boys had a great time and you survived!

Jen- Good to see you! Thanks for visiting my blog, too.

Hello Everyone. I hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon. I'm so out of touch with the sports world, I didn't know it was Super Bowl weekend until I saw the sales and the crowds at the grocery store yesterday.

I finished the page. Here's a link.

Walking with Grandpa

Kelly--I remember! I wanted to wish you good health. I'm glad your husband is feeling better and I just hope you don't get it.

Maribeth-I've been loving all your Disney themed pages. I've got so many Disney pics that I need to scrap.

Debi-You are the nicest mom, ever. Glad you're feeling better too. I can't believe you've managed time to scrap too with everything else going on.

Cindy-you're a sports fan, yes? Who are you routing for today? Go...(who is playing today?) Yeah. Them. Go That Team!

Probably time I share the computer with my husband now. Have a great week.

Yes, we all survived. Wasn't that bad, but a week ago, it would have been impossible for me. Thank goodness for meds.

Boys had to be roused at 1 p.m. for breakfast. They went home at 2 p.m. despite the original plan was noon. LOL Everyone had a good time but my boys are showing their fatigue by being grumpy and getting on each other's nerves. LOL Oh well, I'm off to help my mom for a couple hours so they can veg while I'm gone.

Tomorrow they have a big music contest/fieldtrip and I just realized they didn't bring their instruments home...dang it, I hope we can sneak into the music room early and retrieve them since we have to be at the University by 7:30 a.m. I need to hunt down their concert attire too...those little blue bow ties are always getting put in the wrong place.

Here's a quickie LO I did while waiting for the boys to wake up.

Hi, everyone!

Cindy, where are you?? I hope you haven't caught the flu. We need to see your smiling face at the first of every month!! You know we can't get past one page of Pokey Peas without lots of input from you.

Pam, I'm sorry you have had the flu. It's really a bad one this year. My granddaughters' classes have been missing as many as 10 children a day. Stay indoors and stay warm. I'm sending you virtual chicken soup ...actually it's potato soup since I'm out of chicken!

Val, come out, come out wherever you are...buried under moving boxes, I'm sure.

Debi, my tree was my last to come down. Everything else was put away, but now my living room is clean and ready for company. My sis and her DH are coming by tonight to visit. They are just in the area for a funeral, so they won't stay long. Glad you had 2 great nights with the gang of boys.
So nice to hear that the meds are working and you are feeling better.

Linda, I'm loving your album. It's like having our own tour of the sites. Keep them coming. Love your pink layout.

Anj, your layout brought tears to my eyes. I love that photo of Dad and Drew. He loved being with Drew and Sammie even though I know he didn't feel very well. Sweet photo.

Angela, be sure to post a photo of your outfits. You are braver than I am. I will do crafts and sew WITH the grands, but I don't sew FOR them.

Wow, Kelly, you are the brave one. Painting background paper is too scary for me. I get nervous with paint and mists in my scraproom. (with reason, because I'm so messy!) I agree with Pam, take lots of photos of your beautiful area.

Jen, did you get a chance to scrap over the weekend? Keep in touch.

Maribeth, you are really on a scrapping roll. Keep up the good work. Glad you are enjoying it.

I know I'm forgetting things. I'm like Angie, I don't even know who was playing in the Super Bowl, but DH watched. I hope your team won!(which ever it was you were pulling for.)

Off to get supplies for Cubs tomorrow. We are making rockets and tornado tubes. I just hope it's warm enough out that we can shoot off the rockets. They are made of paper, so getting all snowy won't be good for them. We may have to save them for later in the month if it's stormy.

Have a great day!

Happy Monday! We did enjoy the superbowl last night. Some of those commercials were so funny. I do look forward to that every year. Ron is feeling better and so far I am ok. Thought I was feeling a little something yesterday and I jumped on it and felt better. He went to work today and hope he doesn't come home worst. You know those a/c buildings are cold and others are sick so my fingers are crossed!

Glad you all enjoy my painted lo. I did two more and I will post. I have to remember this when I don't have the right color paper. Plus it was a good way to use old pp that I won't use. Just turn it over to the white side and zoom, zoom, zoom!

Nylene- You could do it. Messy is good. All I did was brush all over with a few different colors and that was it. No perfection needed. It was so relaxing and fun, too. Glad you liked it.

Angie- Glad you remembered what you wanted to ask me. Yes, I am ok and dh is better. So hope it continues! I hate being sick!!!

Pam- Yes, this Alamitos Bay is so fabulous. Even with my old camera I still get get shots. I know you would love it there. It is so peaceful and quite. Also, glad you are getting better. This bug is really going around. Hang in there! Stay warm!

Cindy- You good? We miss you!

well although I am feeling better, I am still compromised. The boys had a band fieldtrip today and believe me getting them to the University and walking up and down hundreds of stairs in the performance hall over and over, my poor knees and hips are crying out. I was glad to hobble home, down some ibuprofen and snuggle under my warm throw for a couple of hours to recoup. I only get one shot a week, it's always stronger (more effective right after the shot) so by end of the week I'm feeling more pain but it accummulates so over time it gets better. It takes awhile to get back to "my normal" and I have to remember not to overdo it. I overdid it today. LOL But I really wanted to hear the band play. they have a composer from Japan, a military band leader from Korea and some other expert from BOston come in and evaluate the bands, do small feedback sessions and tutorials and work with groups of kids with each different instrument. It's a great fieldtrip, albeit a long one for this mama...we had 2 bands (concert and symphonic) making up nearly 200 kids there today. They all behaved very well, thankfully. Can't say that about all the other bands; some definitely need to work on their audience skills.

I will probably fix dinner for the boys and hang out with my throw for the rest of the night, so I can be ready for tomorrow.

For whomever had the flu, I'm sorry. I had it in October and it knocked me off my feet for over 2 weeks. I couldn't do anything but lie there and hope it would pass. Glad you are feeling better.

Enough said.

Jen, I loved the video on your blog. I can't share a badge because I don't do Facebook, but I really enjoyed it. What a great thing to do, sharing ag principles with 3rd graders. You are to be commended for the time you take to share. Have a great day...and scrap a little if you get a moment!

ETAebi, we must have been posting at the same time. I'm sorry you were worn out after the Band event, but sounds like the boys did well. I hope you will feel better tomorrow. I used to go next door 3 days a week to give shots to an elderly RA neighbor. I could never tell whether they were doing much good, but she wanted them continued. She was so thin that it was hard to find a spot to give them. I hope your shot next week really puts you on the mend.

Strange things are happening with my replies....

Nylene, that photo of the "garlic plant" is a plant that my friend has, growing along a long string to the east side of her house. It does not produce any garlic bulbs , it gives the scent/odor of garlic,if the leaves are scratched or bruised. I was impressed with the beautiful flowers and how beautifully it vines.Interesting, huh! pam

Good Morning. National Pancake Day, huh? Well we barely had time to down cold cereal this morning. ANother morning where the boys got up late (forgot to set their alarm). Getting to be a weekly habit. Ugh.

Taking it easy this morning. Just because I want to. Maybe I'll scrap a page before getting started on the day. How about you?

Darn it! The bug finally got me! I was feeling fine yesterday and then Wack! So taking it easy and hope it doesn't hang around too long. My dh is feeling better and I guess he will have to be the nurse for me.

I know my dh is sad he missed National Pancake Day! He is crazy about them. Maybe next year.

So glad you all liked my painted paper layouts. They were do fun to make. Now I want to paint more paper.

Nylene- I just went to Word document and inserted the pic there. Then typed my journaling on to and pushed the pic behind the text. I like wording with some pictures there because I can change the colors too.

Debi- You did have a fun time at the concert field trip. So you are wiped out but at least it is for a great reason. Rest up!

Pam- It is gloomy here too. Glad you are feeling better! Hope I do soon. Yummy choices for today. What did you end up making?

Jen- How cool is that to be with a farming project. I know you both will have fun with the kiddos!

Hi ladies! Sorry I am just getting over here. I am not sick thank goodness I have just been really busy. I am trying to do some cleaning and I have been trying to get all my digi supplies organized into a program called ACDSee. I am caught up on praising but have not had time to read everything yet. I skimmed over some of the chatter.
I will try to get cauight up with that today too!

Hope you are all feeling well and those of you who are sick I am sending virtual chicken soup, and hope you have a speedy recovery. I have to sqay you gals have been posting some beautiful pages! BBL!

LINDA keep posting those trip LOs...awesome and fun to read.

CINDY glad you are well, just busy. I use Picasa to organize my digi supplies. takes awhile to tag everything but so easy to find stuff when you do. I hear ACDSee is very similar. I just opted for the "free" program-LOL.

The alarms have gone off and we're awake but no one wants to get up this morning, including me, but if I don't start moving, I won't have time to fix lunches. Kids get out 2 hrs early so I'm sure they could eat at home, but...

Wonder why I'm so tired. I slept pretty well last night.

Ok off to rouse the boys.

Good morning from sunny Ohio.... yes I believe it is sun.

Going through the morning routine, then I am going to scrap this afternoon. I feel much better and this is my reward..

Cindy, so glad you are taking off with digital.. how do you like it so far? I have seen some of your gorgeous creations and it looks like you are learning a lot. How are the grands? Is dh still going to the farm and enjoying himself? Love the story behind the photos.. so glad you are documenting for him and family.

I moved a bird feeder to the front porch area and it is a "hit". I thought that it would be easier to get to since I get such big drifts in the place where I had it. Lots of tweets and seeds are flying and it is easy to see from several rooms.

Well, off to other projects and chores.. Soon Come pam
