Hi Ladies, how is everyone?
Nylene - The cards are for donation only. We've probably got about $300 so far. The money we get goes for supplies and the vet does the fixing for free. The even go out and catch the Ferrel cats. Then, fix them and release them where they found them.
Well, here's 4 more pgs of the trip

Wow, Linda, what a wonderful work you are doing. That is really a labor of love. $300 is a great contribution. I hope you continue to sell a lot to help with surgeries.
It's so fun to see the Scrapfest photos. I look like I was mad at someone when you took my photo. But I know I wasn't! I had a great time. Love the old time photo. What a bunch of silly scrappers!
ETA: You don't need to hunt for the Pokey Thread if you put it on your Watch List. I never know what page it is on because I go to my Watch List, the first thing. To Watch List it, click on the the little triangle next to the Reply button. Then click on Watch this thread. When you open the Forums, off to the left under Message Board, the last item is Watch List. It's a fast way to find our thread. (and others) |

Good Morning everyone.
Nylene - thanks for the tip on watch list.
Boo Hoo, of the four boxes that came last night none of them were my prints. But on the bright side my first two peas order came in, and my paper trimmer (mine broke on Sunday) which put me on complete scrapping hold. I am sure my photos will be in today, just sure.
Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hello everyone...
Quite breezy and much cooler here... looks like it will probably snow sometime today. Happy Valentines to all, hope the day is filled with hearts for you....
Angie,I laughed when you wrote about your template use or effort to use. I am always attracted to templates, but after purchase,I find that I don't use them, just get an idea or two.lol. So I am now avoiding the temptation to buy them and just looking them over for ideas. Saves me lots of $$
Kelly, hope you are feeling better. I am almost recovered, still have a sl. cough and no stamina. Whatever I had,it was brutal and lasted a pretty long time. Keep eating your cyber soup and rest.
Well, I am off to clean one of the bathrooms,ugh... where is that maid!!
Have a great day,Soon come pam

Happy Valentines Day! I hope it has been a good one for you all so far. I am feeling a little better but still moving slow. I will be working on Ron's card and will share later. I like how it looks so far and glad my ideas hit me just in time. Also, I am working on a few other cards and hope to finish them soon. So I am still a card making somebody!
Nylene- Thanks for the soup! I am making some progress and hope to be back on my feet soon. Also, thanks for that watch list tip. I never even noticed it.
Pam- Good to see you and glad to hear your furry friend is back. I would like to know what he did too on his adventures.
Angie- Wow, that is alot of pictures and I know you will have fun scrapping some of them.
Linda- Oh boy you have been busy and glad to hear the cards are for a great cause.
Debi- You really were busy too making those lovely digi cards. I hope your card wins, too.
Waving hi to all you ladies! |

Hope you are all having a great Valentine's Day! It also happens to be our DD's b-day today so she came over with the baby and visited. DH and I don't do much for V-Day, but we love each other anyway. We may try to hit a movie tomorrow. Trying to go to dinner this weekend will be impossible. With 2 universities here, V-Day and the weekends are crazy in eating places. We'll wait and go out next week. You can do that when you've been married as long as we have!
Kelly, I made homemade Chicken Noodle Soup this afternoon and wished I could just hand it to you. DH requested it this week. I could eat soup at every meal all winter, but I think he gets tired of it after a while.
Linda, have you never used the Watch List, or has it just been since the "change" that you haven't. It's the only way I have time to catch up on Chatty Scrappers and Pokey Peas. Otherwise I'd really get bogged down in the other threads. This way if I have time left I pick and choose a few.
Hi, Cindy. Good advise for Angie. I don't know if she bought the template or if it was a free download. She'll have to fill us in. How are your classes coming? I'm enjoying my History Project from Kerri Bradford, but I'm a bit behind. It's easy to catch up though.
Pam, it's cold and windy here, too. I'm already longing for Spring! I planted 3 dozen tulip bulbs and I'm anxious to see them poking up their little heads.
I plan to go scrapping with a neighbor in the morning. She has an art studio and invites any of the neighbors to come on Friday mornings. The good thing is that if you forget something, she probably has 3 of them!
Be back later. |

Hey all--just wanted to pop in and say that I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. Back to work after the holidays, 2 ski weekends, and 3 (concurrent!) cases of the flu have made the beginning of the year a bit hectic. Everyone is healthy again and I've about gotten my daughters have caught up from missing several days of school (my poor 16-year-old had to make up 5 tests--yuck!). Looking forward to a 3 day weekend to have a little relaxing fun! Hope to catch up with everyone then. |

Good morning Pokeys. I have just read some very sad news about our friend Val. I visited her blog this morning and during her move she also found out her brother is battling melanoma. There is a letter he wrote on her blog if you would like to leave her a few words. Here's a link: Val's Outside Voice. Just thought I would share the bad news with you.
Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day and got to scrap a little. I hope to scrap some today and this weekend. My DH made me a beautiful dinner for my day!
Kelly-so glad you are feeling better. This flu and the tummy virus are showing there not so nice side this year.
Angi-where are those photos???? Just kidding I knoiw you are busy!!!
Nylene-my classes are doing well. I am behind by 2 layouts for the last class in this session. I have signed up fo another that starts in mid-March so I have some paper scrapping to get done in the meantime! I love learning how to use all this stuff in PSE. All the blending modes, and filters and learning page design and graphics at the same time!
Waving a big hello to everyone and I will BBL!

Good afternoon from Ohio and big white fluffy snowflakes..
Nylene, loved your explanation of valentines day and couldn't agree more. We,(dh) and I always celebrated it our way. Quiet, together and happy for our blessings.Yesterday,he was close to my heart and memories were flowing.
Cindy, thanks for the info about Val and her brother... thinking of them as well, hoping for the best.
Kelly, glad you are better. Lol,my sons kid about putting a gps on Sylvester to "track" him. He is such an elusive guy,who always keeps me wondering... what a cat!!
Well, right after I clean a bit,I am going to reward myself with some scrapping time.. sort of an end of the week celebration.!!
Linda, thanks for your kind praise and I so enjoy your pages also. While I don't know you,you seem like such an energetic fun kind person.Hope to see more of your beautiful pages soon.
Well, I am off to chores... then the reward. Soon Come pam

Hey ladies! I hope your day has been well. I am feeling better and in a scrapping mood. I loved the envelope and stamp weekly challenges and want to try. I have some little envelops I have had for a while and love the idea of cluttering them on a lo. So fingers crossed. Also, I got some cards to finish too. So this should be a crafty afternoon.
Oh yeah, my dh loved the Valentine's card I made. Hope to share later.
Pam- LOL! That would be so funny to gps your cat baby and see life from his point of view.
Nylene- Thanks friend! I wish you could send me some of that delicious soup. I tried my hand at making some veggie soup yesterday and it turned out pretty good. Just perfect for my recovering body.
Cindy/Val- So sad to hear about Val's brother. Sending my prayers to him and the family. Hang in there Val!!!
Leah- Good seeing you!

I didn't even realize that we hit 3 pages! Yeah Pokeys!
Happy Valentine's Day yesterday. My daughter was showing her dad how she decided to wear all pink and red yesterday (gotta love Kindergarten sense of style). And he said, "Oh, but Valentine's Day is TOMORROW." I just laughed. "No dear, it's today." He's good to me 365 days of the year so I guess I can let him off the hook for this.
Cindy-I had to chuckle last week when you talked about your housekeeper. Mine has gone missing too! And you ask "Where's the photos?" Um...I earn my Pokey title fair and square.
Pam-The template was a freebie, thankfully! Whew. Love digi for that reason.
Linda-what fun photos of scrapfest. So fun to see my mom dressed in the Old West. I can't believe how much you have been getting done.
Ok. On to the fun stuff. I just finished a page. It's not Disney, like you would think. It's a page of my first Instagrams. I think that's as close as I'll come to anything PL related. And I needed to get the creative juices flowing before I tackled Disney.

Good Morning Peas! Hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend! I scrapped a page last evening so posted it this morning and willl link it at the end! Not much going on here today but I am trying to get back into my scrap room! I have one more lo to do for my class then a lot of paper scrapping to work on!
Pam-nice to see you! I love hearing that Sylvester has returned and it would be fun to hear the story as to where he has traveled! A gps on the kitty would be fun also! It is sunny here this morning so you are probably wishing it was warm enough to be out in your garden!!!
Val-you are in my thoughts and prayers GF. Hope we hear from you soon.
Kelly-the bad part of making soup is smelling the stuff and having to wait to eat it! LOL!!!! Glad to hear you are feeling better!
Angi-I have not checked out your instagram yet but will be as soon as I finish here! I will wait for the picks but I know you had a great time. I just love seeing those sweet little faces!
Maribeth-were you able to figure out my instructions for adding links to your siggie? Are you going to be able to scrap this weekend???
Well here is my link and I will be back later!
A Perfect Day |

Good Saturday morning to all!!
I am up,not really attem yet, lol. Beautiful partly cloudy skies with copious sun noted from my scrap room windows. Fed the birds and it is quite cool out there.
Angie,I know what you mean about freebies, gotta love the delete button also. While I do purchase a "fair" amt of digital stuff,I also run across tons of freebies. I also re-use digital and that is another big plus. Oh,I could go on and on!!
Cindy,as we speak,Mr. Travlin Man is off again... Last seen with a full stomach, leaving the front porch on Wednesday eve. He gives new meaning to long week-ends.It is like he is on loan to me,so I enjoy him when he is here.
Kelly, veg soup sounds so good. I have girlfriends club next week and I am planning to serve veg soup for them. February is like soup month to me, I am like Nylene and could eat soup each day. I had potato soup last eve for dinner, yum.
Well, I am off to work on a Saturday scrap lift, then who knows what I will do. HAGD all Soon come pam

It sounds like many of you are having some time to scrap. That's so nice.
I finished a page, but want to do a companion page. Of course I don't have any more the of the same paper, so I'm stumped for now. I'll have to "dig out" something similar, I guess.
Val, if you are reading, our hearts and prayers go out to you and to your brother. We miss you but understand. Hugs!
Waving to everyone. I probably won't get back on the thread until Tues. I'm hoping to spend some time with the grandchildren on Monday.
Have a great Presidents' Day weekend, everyone!

Hello, all! It sounds like everyone has been either busy or sick. So, I hope everyone has had plenty of rest and all is well. I have been very busy at work and have not had a tremendous amount of scrapping time. I am glad to hear that some of us have had time for some fun outings. Can't wait to see the pics from Disneyland and the train ride!

Amy the sunburst is called a star glow. It is a brush and they come in different shapes and sizes. Mine are by Katie Pertiet over at Designer Digitals. Just put star glows in the search box. In that photo I already had sunlight coming up from behind those trees so I enhanced it with the sunburst. I usually make them white and decrease the opacity until I get the look I want. I also edited it a bit with a layer mask. |

Hello, everyone! Happy Sunday! Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Thought I would get some layouts done this weekend while dh was at a convention but no such luck.
Looks like everyone has been busy. Unfortunately, I'm experiencing the "server error" message here on 2peas so I can't see anyone's work. Will have to try again later.
Thanks for the tip about the watch list Nylene. I'm always searching for our thread.
Just wondering if anyone signed up for Wilna's Art Class? I did and it's so good! It's all about playing with mixed media. So fun! Hope to see some of you in there.
Just popping in to say hello. Hope you all have a wonderful week! |

Happy President's Day! We are having a quiet day so far. My dh is off today so we hope to enjoy it. I have been working on a lo for one of the challenges here. I got some of the pieces together but now I am stuck on the title and a few other parts. But I hope to pull it together before the due date.
Also, I made a booklet for a few family and friends about our anniversary. Finally, got it printed and it turned out so nice. I will share it soon. So, craft central is up and running! Oh, I even mailed some fancy cards I donated for this upcoming awards luncheon. I'll tell you about this later. Fingers crossed!
Anne- Good to see you! That art class sounds fun. I gotta check it out. Maybe I will try something like this soon.
Pam- How did your soup turn out? I think I am going to try to make more this week. Maybe a different kind. Yummy!
Angie- I hope your dh got lots of hugs even through he forgot Valentine's Day.
Waving hello to all you girls. Have a good day!!! |

Hello Pokeys,
I finally felt inspired to do my first Disney page!
Merida
I can't stay long. The kids had a 4 hour playdate here today. As fun as it was, I think we've been indoors too long. Of course, I'm not sure what we'll do since it's a bit cold outside. Oooh, did I just say that? It's 54 degrees today...I've become a Californian! Hats off to those of you in true winter climates. Burrr.
Happy scrapping to you all. |

Hi everyone! Just a quick stop by as I am crocheting-just finished an afghan I made for Maggie, and I started a sweater for myself-first sttempt at a sweater. I also got the yarn for a rainbow afghan I am going to make for Bobby. They like them for watching tv. I made this layout over the weekend but as usual could not post it as the site would not work again-every weekend! It's a page of Maggie and her dad getting ready for the annual daddy daughter dance. This is their fourth year in a row, and Maggie looks so forward to the rnight out dancing with her daddy! What great memories he is making for her.
You can find it here: Daddy-Daughter Dance 2013

I don't have Cubs tomorrow since our Blue and Gold Banquet is the next night. So today I got to scrap instead of getting things ready for Cubs! Yeah! I finished a double pager here:
Baptism
Amy, I love all your pages. Angie and Cindy, so nice to see pages pop up with your names on them. We are really being UN-Pokey this month. I say we need to scrap while the Mojo's hot!
54 degrees and it's cold???? Angie, it was 8 degrees this morning, but actually climbed to near 30 during the day! I'm heading to CA with you and Kelly!
Gotta run. I'll chat more later. Waving hi to everyone!!

Oh my! Lots has been posted since I last checked in. I thought I would say a quick hello and then I need to get some sleep.
I have been inspired since deciding to take Wilna's Art Class! I have only watched one video but really enjoyed it. I finally got my replacement Cameo and excited to use it for this class. I bought a few new mist for a LO I want to make for the art class.
I have today off work then work the next three. Then next week I took vacation for Scrap-a-palooza. I am sad that SG won't be participating in these crops anymore. It won't be the same without my LSS gals!
I hope to catch up soon. I hope everyone is doing alright! |

54 degrees sounds warm to me right now too and we have definitely NOT been experiencing the cold some of you have. Even the mid-40's isn't too bad in perspective.
k
NYLENE between the cubs activities and scrapping, how would you ever have time for house cleaning? I'm just saying....LOL
I am beginning to believe that by getting rid of stuff, housecleaning could be easier to maintain. Now just to do it...15 minutes at a time.
It is so hard for me to let go of something, even if I haven't used it in awhile. I see how much I spent on it and although it no longer is valued at that, it's hard to let go. Anyone else have this problem? I contribute this trait to my mom, who never lets go of stuff either, as who knows when you might need it again? it is not a mindset that is helping me...
ok I'm off to declutter...one little space at a time.

Debi, I feel that way about stuff too! I have been working on organizing my house and just letting go of stuff I don't need. I want to go through my closets and donate clothes too. I still have clothes that I wore 20 years ago that I know that I won't wear again.
I might have gotten 2 hours of sleep last night but have been productive on those 2 hours of sleep! I still have a few more things to accomplish. I need to finish them before the need for sleep hits me again. |

Debi - I am doing that very thing, we started in October we are de-cluttering and remodeling each room, we started with my scraproom - next was my hubby's sitting room, then the hall bathroom and now the hall. master bedroom and bath, kitchen and living room to go. And it does make housework much easier (which gives me more scrapbook time). However now our garage is packed with stuff we don't want to put back in the house. I would have no problem giving it away or taking it straight to the dump, hubby is the one fixated on the amount we spent for some of the stuff (mostly RTA bookcases through the years), but not me, we got our money's worth while we were using the items. I say it is time to move on..........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi, Jana! So nice to see you drop by. I had to laugh at your 20 year old clothes. Since I've been losing weight, I dug back in my closet to find things that fit. Today I'm wearing a shirt that my tiny granddaughter loved because it has embroidered Pooh characters on it. That granddaughter is ready to graduate from H.S. Yes, I tend to be a hoarder! But it fits!
Debi, I grew up in a very poor household and we saved EVERYTHING! Dad would get mad to find loose threads on the rug while we were sewing, because it could be collected and used for hand stitching! I don't keep everything, but as Angie will testify, if it has sentimental value, it's still here in the house. Maribeth....I need to develop your "let it go" attitude! Or maybe I'll just let Angie and her siblings clean it all out someday, like we had to do with mom and dad's home.
Waving hello to all of you. Hope you are all doing well and that Pam and Kelly are both on the mend! Hugs to Val and her brother! |

Cindy, I forgot to tell you, we want photos of all the crocheting you are doing. You are so brave to do a sweater! Val would be so proud of you! Be sure to take photos along the way and when the afghans are finished. |

Hi my dear sweet pokey friends! I am soooo sorry I haven't even taken a few minutes to stop by. Once again, my life is topsy turfy.
My brother had a liver transplant about 8 years ago and at that time we had a couple of close calls where we didn't think he would make it. Since that time, he has been on anti rejection drugs so his immune system is close to non existent. About a month ago, he was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma (not sure of the spelling). Anyway, in a nutshell, his cancer has spread to his new liver, and bones etc.
I was going to visit him the weekend of March 7th but the cancer seems to be more aggressive than we had originally thought, so I'm getting on a plane February 26th.
My sister finishes her work in NY next week and she's going to MS and then I'll meet her there. Then when the time comes, we'll fly back to ohio and she'll see our new home for the 1st time. It will be bittersweet I'm sure.
The assisted living where I volunteer offered me a job! Right now I help out with the activities just like I always have but the lady I was helping is now helping at the independent living section so I'm by myself. I'm loving it but finding it difficult to leave the real estate team I also work for. The older guy reminds me of my dad.
I didn't mean to write a boring novel here and I'm sorry for rambling. I haven't scrapped since we moved and it breaks my heart. I will scrap though, soon.
Cindy, I am proud of you and would love to see your crocheting projects! You go girl!
Thank you all who stopped by my blog and are thinking of me and my family. All your thoughts and prayers are felt and held close to my heart. I love and miss you all so very much.

Happy Wednesday, Pokeys!
I just finished a page for my first challenge! The colors are a little wild for me but it was fun. I used some hearts, pink paper and documented what I love about my kids to meet the challenge. I had it just how I wanted it when Photoshop crashed again. I don't know what's going on. It has never done it before except twice in one week! It wasn't a total loss. I just had to redo my shadows but I wasn't as happy with the result. Oh well, time to be done with it.
I love that about you
Cindy--I want to see your crochet projects too!
I've been baking bread again. My newest recipe has been fabulous but I think I botched it today. Just waiting for it to bake now. Sure smells good though.
Are we going to hit 4 pages this month? |

Hi Ladies! Just a quick note to ssay HI! I have had two sick grands the last two days! I am hoping I am not getting what they had-some tummy bug. Maggie started Monday and Bobby started Tuesday. They are both doing better now. Maggie went to school today and Bobby will be going back tomorrow. I just hope we don't get it! I will be glad to share my crochet projects with you-I have made numerous afghans but this will be my first sweater!
Angie-Hope your bread turns out-I made bread once that made a fabulous paper weight! I loved your page-we just found out that Maggie walks Bobby to his classroom every morning to make sure he gets there safely! We would have never known if his teacher had not told Becky at conferences. It is that special bond between siblings!
Linda- I have been so enjoying your trip album. I am so glad you shared it with us! I know it must have been somewhat difficult since losing Mike, but you have done a fabulous job with it! Hugs to you GF!
Val- I am so glad to hear from you! How is the new home coming along? Are you happy with it so far? I am so sorry about your brother, my heart goes out to you and him. I am glad to hear about your new job! Is it part time I hope????
Jana -what happened with SG and Scrapapalozza? I thought they were the major backers of that?
Debi-glad to hear you are feeling better. You are such a busy bee I know you have to be feeling really bad to be crawling in the bed. Glad to hear you are on the go again!
Ok back to crocheting---- will be back tomorrow!!!! Waving a big hi to Anne, Maribeth, Kelly, Sarah, Jenn, Leah and Jessie and all the rest of the Pokeys I may have missed!!!!! |

Maribeth--i forgot to ask earlier...Did your photos arrive yet? I'm dying to see the pages you've been working on. You're so patient to wait for prints! Do you do the layout first so you can edit your photos to fit just right? I'm just curious about your process.
Goodnight Pokeys! |
