We started the new year with a bang on the Young Scrappers thread! Let's keep the momentum going this month!

Who are the Young Scrappers? We are a group of "young" 20-something to 30-something year old girls who created a group to share our interest in scrapbooking! We take the "young" part lightly - it's all about how young you feel. Feel free to join in the chat! Just post an intro so we know who you are. And post links to your layouts here - we love to share our work & leave some praise!

-------------------------------

We have a brand new challenge for the year:

For the Pinspiration Challenge, we collaborated to create a list of 52 challenges - one for each week this year! The challenges were based off of layouts we had pinned on Pinterest or bookmarked online. It is a way to use some of that inspiration we are constantly pinning on Pinterest!

There really are no rules with this challenge! It is more just a way to motivate each other to scrapbook. Choose challenges from the list that you feel inspired by, create something, and share it with us! The goal is to see how many challenges you can complete in one year.

Here is the link to the challenge list to download: challenge sheet

And here is the Pinterest board with all the challenges and sample layouts: Pinspiration challenge on Pinterest

Every month, we will have a hostess to keep us motivated. For January, our hostess is RACHEL! Rach says:

(coming soon)

I can't believe it's February already! And this is a short month, so before we know it it will be March. I'm glad, though. I love spring!

Caroline- So sorry about your bf I hope they can figure out what is going on. That is what I hate the most - when they can't figure out what's wrong! Hugs!

Loni- That was super awesome of you to get the washi for me! Thanks darlin'!

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

I'm scrapping today (between laundry). Then going to hang out with my cousins tomorrow, and we're having a SLUMBER PARTY with the kids tomorrow night. LOL. They're pretty excited. Need to start working on my cousin's wedding album... I'm a bit nervous about scrapping for someone else.

So last night, at the last minute, I signed up for the SC "Bright Ideas" class. I've been scrapping so much the last few weeks that I think I'm losing creativity & mojo. I'm hoping the class helps with that!

Caroline, I hope everything turns out okay! That all sounds so scary hugs and well wishes from me!

Loni, thanks! I kinda like how my little mistake turned out, enough to live with it at least haha.

Monica, thanks so much! I think you should enter too everyone should! Maybe that SC class will get you scrappin like crazy and you'll come up with a lo to enter Also, good luck with your second round of interviews!

Midterms are starting soon, I'm not too worried about them. I have a philosophy writing assignment I have to get done though and no motivation to do it... blah.

Also, if you guys don't know, I have thyroid problems. My thyroid is back to normal again (I've been taking meds to control the levels) but since it was wonky around 6 months back, now my hair has started to shed like CRAZY. I'm super worried because I've been trying to grow out my hair for sooo long and I'm worried it will stop growing because all of the longer hairs are shedding. Luckily I had a LOT of hair to begin with so even though I'm at half the regular volume I have, it still looks okay, but it's still bugging me (and kind of scaring me too).

Hi girls!

February already!!
The first month of this new year is already gone!

Anyway.. just a quick check in from me before I'm off to bed

Just uploaded my layout for the MME/Gossamer Blue contest:

Your love makes my world go round!

Can't wait to hear what you all think! Don't know whether it's good enough to win, but I like it anyway

This weekend is filled with birthdays for me... But that's alright because D is still gone I'll probably go to the gym as well and might take some time to work on PL 2012.. I'm on week 31.. Going slowly but steady.. Really would like to finish it soon

@ Monica: Can't wait to see what the SC class inspires you to make!

@ Christina: I can imagine you're worried! That's scary stuff! In times like those don't you wish you were a boy and just could shave it all off? Hope it all works out for you

I'm off to bed! Talk to you gals later this weekend!

Happy February everyone!

Christina: you have such beautiful hair and I hope it doesn't shed too much, but if so you will still be beautiful.

Monica: hope the class gives you some great inspiration and a mojo lift.

Jen: have a good time visiting your grandparents.

Dee: love the line used and how you wrapped the twine around the picture, but couldn't see the title. Still a very nice layout. Good luck!

Morning Ladies!!

I'm going scrapbooking today at Ms I'm super excited. This will be the first time I've scrapped out of the house since I moved here last October. I'm super curious to see what its going to be like, or if anyone will even show up haha!
Monica I also am doing laundry too, I'm sure you need clothes for your interviews. I need clothes for my job that I start monday!! Yay! I got a 3 week onsite freelance position

Christina, my hair sheds like crazy on a daily basis! I've been trying to grow my hair out long since last April. It seems to be going nowhere. But good news things are back to normal for you.

Rachel we will be here after your weekend finishes hopefully your calls arent too crazy!

Christina, it is alarming to see that much hair coming out even when you do have a lot. Mine falls out wabout 4 months after having a baby. I hope it's done with the shed!!

Monica, I'll let you know when I've sent it to you. It shipped yesterday.

Dee, I forget! How long will D be gone? Come chat and scrap with us when you can

How are you feeling Elizabeth? We need to compare baby bumps

Hi Jen!

Laura, have fun at the crop.

Aww, Rachel, I hope it goes fast for you!

Dee, cute LO!! And yeah! I wish it wasn't so stressful to have to worry about long hair, just another thing for us girls to worry about! haha

Jen, have fun with the grandparents!

Elizabeth, thanks so much I feel like the shedding is starting to slow down so maybe I'm worried for nothing, but everyone knows me by my height and my hair so it's pretty closely tied to who I am.

Rach, good luck! sounds like it's gonna be a busy one for you!

Laura, I hate having hair everywhere! My bf would sometimes pick it off of my shirt and put it back on my head to annoy me. Silly boy. I've been growing my hair out for two years so it's substantially longer than it was (started at my chin) but I hated growing it out, there were so many awkward hair stages.

Loni, it's usually all tied to female hormones so any time you go through a hormone change you usually have a larger shed. I know it wont happen but I'm at the worried "what if i have to cut my hair short again because it looks like Gollums (A Picture ) hair"

Luckily I have the whole weekend off to get homework and studying done so maybe I'll be able to scrap on Sunday!

Christina: I totally understand the hair being a big part of you. I grew up being the black girl with pretty long hair. I'd give it a cut and people would act as if I cut off an arm. One day I'll make a drastic move but I am trying to grow it below my butt. Right now it's stopped at the tailbone and sheds too.

Loni: send me an email I'll be glad to show you how huge I am lol. 17 weeks today and I am feeling ready to pop. I always tend to gain really fast so honestly nothing new. Lol but you see from my pinning I am on the hunt to finding great exercises for after baby to bounce back.

Laura: hope M's was fun and people showed up. If not I hope you were still able to get som crafting done and had a good time.

Rachel: hope you get some scrap therapy to help you get over your on-call weekend.

Well off to finish spending time with the family. Suffering from a migraine so hopefully my kids will cut me a break. We built a big fort in the living room pretending it's all kinds of different things. The best was the pirate ship and finding pirate booty.

Ok girls... this is a long one.
I had one hell of an adventure today. I was going to go scrapbooking up in Queens at the Michaels up there which is about an hour transportation ride away for me. They have "Scrap-In" days the first Saturday of the month. So I called this morning to double check, packed up and made the trek up there which consisted of dragging my hand truck full of heavy scrapbook bags through 3 train transfers, which means lots and lots of stairs! Well once I finally made it to the store I come to find out that they had to cancel last minute and failed to mention that on the phone this morning. Also they said that if I still really wanted to scrapbook I could go to the other store, which is only 20 minutes away...driving. Well being carless now that would mean another train ride plus a bus transfer to get to that other Michael's totaling of over an hour journey. Again, with my heavy bags full of paper. The class ended at 9pm and I would have made it there by 6pm from the store I was already at. I decided to give up on this one for this month and try again next month and went to seek out a simple pleasure to calm myself down before I hopped on the train again for my trek back home (again, 3 trains).
Starbucks is in the same center as Michael's which is rare in Queens/Brooklyn. They are everywhere in the city, but its impossible to find one on our island. Starbucks it was then for my simple pleasure to gather my thoughts and prepare to trek back.
Now back at the top of the first subway station entrance stairs, in 20 degree weather, I suck it up and make the trek down the stairs into the subway...4 stairs from the bottom and the wheels break off my cart. Oh this is not happening to me. Ok again deep breath and haul that stupid thing back up the stairs back outside to the freezing air. I was going to call a cab but then realized, it would have been like a $50 cab ride at that time of night and from how far I was from my house. Now I'm sitting on a crate outside a closed market looking at my "trusty" broken cart planning my journey home. I decide to just ditch the cart and pick up the bags to carry them the distance home. The hardest part, besides climbing the stairs with 5 bags on my shoulders/back, was walking from my train stop to my house. The only .3 mile walk seemed to be 10 miles long with my luggage and the temperature not helping at all and of course with my luck, it begins to snow.
It took everything I had not to throw those bags down the stairs into the basement where I live. Once I unpacked I immediately started making broccoli cheddar soup for dinner, to warm up for one and for two to get my mind into a better place doing something I love to do.

Needless to say, I didn't scrap today. But I know nothing about football nor do I own a television so tomorrow it is!

Hope you girls are having a better start to your weekend than I've had so far!

p.s. whoever originally started the Young Scrappers, you have an overdue thank you from me. When I got home and finally had a minute to think tonight I wanted nothing more but to come vent my story out to you girls. Even though I don't know any of you really and I've just started this year with the chatting and getting to know everyone, it felt good to be able to share a story like today with people who will understand every bit of it...instead of my stupid boy roommates who could probably care less. (also its 5:30am in Italy so Kyle doesn't get to hear this story until tomorrow)

Laura: wow sounds like an eventful day in the city. Stinks about them canceling the event and not telling you when you called. Oh I could only imagine the pain it was to lug all that stuff. I totally understand about how you feel about being able to chat with someone who would understand. Still consider myself relatively new to the group, but I love having this group of ladies to chat with.

After dinner I took the kids over a friends house to get out and we had a good time getting out hanging out with friends. I am so drained now just from the day that laying in bed feels so good. Especially since hubby washed the sheets and made the bed for me while I was gone. Hopefully tonight I won't have any nightmares and .i can have a good nights rest.

Hoping to clean and organize my room and craft closet (master closet) since .i finally have the rest o the house done and then I am hoping to scrapbook. Yup planning on pulling out the dusty atg gun and putting some pretty paper to work. Might even place an order with tons of products on sale I have been wanting.

Laura, oh my gosh!!! I would have been so frustrated!! You need to add this story to the Crop nightmares thread. I'm so sorry, I think this story will be funny eventually, but right now, I'm just shocked and frustrated for you. I hope you have a nice relaxing crop at home today!

Elizabeth, YAY! you get to scrap! I'll take a bump picture soon and pmail you.

So, B was up more than half the night with the sick girls and I am staying home from church with them. I really think he deserves to stay home and take a nap! but we decided I'd stay. I feel so bad for him. He was being so sweet to take care of them because I've had insomnia which makes me feel pretty awful during the day. Maybe I'll bake him something special.

We are having dinner with my parents and watching the super bowl. I love watching the finals of sports, but we don't have tv so I don't follow the rest of the season. It's fun to talk about tournament brackets with my bro though, even if I don't know who anybody is, LOL. But he stayed at school this weekend. Bummer!

Loni: I didn't know that thread existed?! I need to find it because I'm sure this is a story they all can relate to! It wasn't too relaxing today but it was a good non-relax day because I built things instead. I'm just now sitting down to scrap and I will make at least one page before this weekend ends! Also you should try the Trader Joes sleepy time tea for your insomnia.

Today to make up for yesterday I got organized! I built a shelving unit in my scrap area and organized my scrapping stuff. Here are some photos of what I used to have to now. My next step is to decorate it up and make it cute!

Scrap Space

Enjoy your week girls. I start my first day at this new job tomorrow!

Wow, That sucks so much Laura! I can't believe how frustrating that would be! I definitely think that's one for the crop-nightmare thread. I actually just found it and was reading some of the stories, crazy stuff happens at crops (and cancelled ones too). Hopefully you're feeling a little bit better, your updated scrap space looks awesome (especially compared to the towel on the floor haha)

Loni, B sounds so nice, good on him for looking after you and the girls what did you think of the halftime show for the superbowl? And who are you cheering for?

Elizabeth, I can't wait to see what you create! Scrapping hiatus over?

Hi ladies!

I haven't been posting on YS as much lately, because I've been sick. I'm feeling (mostly) better now, though, so I'm back.

My name is Rosie, for the new people. I'm 24, married, and I live in Southern California with my husband and our dog.

I've done a few layouts recently.

Ahh I thought I could get the closet cleaned, but I honestly had a better time with my family. Hoping to clean some now and hopefully scrap during the week. It's suppose to be nice so who knows.

Oh my I straightened my oldest daughters hair and it was so beautiful for church. It's past her butt now and still growing. My hope is to grow about 10 more inches and get it cut to donate by her 10th birthday. Hopefully my youngest can start growing her hair too.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

Yesterday night my hubby helped me clean out my closet and get my craft supplies organized. Still have a little ways to go, but I am able to walk in an get my albums and such again. What a relief.

Got so overwhelmed yesterday with all my different crafts and the large amounts and small space I thought about selling it all and giving up on my hobbies. Hoping that feeling will pass, but if not I guess I will be either doing less or quitting all together.

Going to get started with teaching, laundry and lunch. Hopefully I can pull out an album and complete some layouts during nap time. Fingers crossed.

Laura, I bumped the thread for you! It's really, really long, but some stuff is pretty hilarious. Let us know how your first day goes at the new job - yay!

Christina, I was rooting for the Ravens. YAY!!!! and they won! It was really low key, and I wouldn't care much either way. I just pick a side when I know who's playing. It was fun hanging out with my parents, just them and my family. - oh, I nearly forgot to answer your other question - I turned off the half time show b/c my 6 yo was watching. "Sorry, G, she just isn't wearing enough clothes, is that okay if I turn it off?" "No" - but he was just kidding, he smiled and went off to play.

Hi Rosie, can I be rude and blunt and ask if it was morning sickness? Elizabeth and I are both expecting in July, so it's on the brain, I guess. haha

Elizabeth, after a hiatus from scrapping it can take me weeks to get organized enough to get going on a LO. Sometimes just doing a card or embellishment will be enough to encourage me to get to that point that I can do LOs. I've been there too when I wonder what on earth am I doing with this hobby and is it even worth it. Scrapping isn't for everyone, but for people like us - we just keep coming back to it until we realize what it means to us and that it is worth it! I've been scrapping nearly every day for about 3 years now - I'm not ever going to give it up.

Rachel, yay! I'm excited for this month's challenges

I have to not be lazy and upload a picture of what I've been working on. I finished my heart backgrounds for my 6 Valentine LOs.

hey gfs!
Can't believe it's Monday already. Not that it makes much of a difference right now, being jobless. But I hope that changes soon!!

I had a fun weekend - my cousin picked me up Saturday & we goofed around for a while. We went to the casino (LOL - I've only been to casinos first when I turned 21 and then a couple times with my dad). She made me play some of the table games, but I was soooo nervous because they are super picky about how you do things. I got my hand slapped a couple of times Anyway, my cousin gave me $20 when we went in there, I left with $50, so gave her the $20 back and ended up with $30 in my pocket

Let's see... we went out to eat, did a bit of shopping, picked up her kids, and had a slumber party. Then yesterday we had a teeny Super Bowl party. I was rooting for the 49ers (WEST COAST), bummed they lost. But, hey, it ended up being a close game!

Laura- omg what a nightmare! I cringed when I read your story - I think I would have given up. LOL. I hope you ended up having a nice time scrapping at home!

Christina- That really sucks about your hair! I have thyroid issues, too, as a result of my pituitary not working. But I've never had my hair fall out like that. I have super fine, thin hair so maybe that's worse because of the thyroid stuff - I know my endocrinologist has commented about my hair before. Anyway, hope it quits falling out

Loni- So sweet of B to stay up with the girls and then go to church, too. You have a keeper! Lucky duck! Hope the girls are feeling better soon.

Rosie- It's good to see you again! I hope you are feeling better.

Elizabeth- That's nice of your hubby to help you clean the closet! I bet that felt nice to get accomplished I don't think you should feel overwhelmed with your hobbies. Maybe just narrow them down to 1 or 2 that you like to do most, and get rid of the rest of it. I'm one of those people who have tried everything - beading, quilting, knitting, sketching, etc. - and eventually got rid of everything else and just stuck with scrapbooking!

Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Monica - about Laura's story, I know! I don't think I would even attempt that trek! Especially not alone - I'm a wimp, I need B to open pickle jars for me, etc. Oh, it looks like our challenge isn't in the gallery options anymore. Does that need to be updated monthly?

Here is my LO I've been bragging/whining about, haha:

Yeah your right. I always tend to go back to scrapping, but I need more space so I can find my supplies and use them up and actually let my creativity go. I feel trapped and not having my supplies organized messes with my flow.

Between scrapping, sewing, knitting, and my kids I am fighting for more time in the day. Hoping getting an office space when I move in 4 months will help me get more done.

Monica: glad you won some money at the casino. I want to go to the casino here before I move, but we'll have to see.

I am drained and going to take a break so I'll check in tomorrow. Excited because I get my next u/s next week and looking forward to getting a cooler 4d scan of him. Something to look forward to.

February Challenge- Week One
Create a LOVE themed kit using supplies from your stash. Post a picture in the gallery and link that picture in this thread. Make sure there are enough supplies to create several cards/layouts, we will be working from this kit all month!

Week One Discussion
1. What is your favorite romantic movie?
2. What is the sweetest thing someone has done for you (does not have to be a partner/spouse) ?

LonR -- Nope, not morning sickness. Actually, first it was an injury, then it was food poisoning. And yes, I'm sure it was bad sushi and not a baby. DH and I are actually in the process of saving to adopt.

Monica -- Yes, much.

And onto the discussion questions:

1) I love The Princess Bride. It's great because guy love it too, but it's super mushy, really.

2) Oh, gosh, there have been so many. My husband's a really awesome guy, so I'm VERY spoiled.

1. What is your favorite romantic movie?
PRINCESS BRIDE!!!! Absolute favorite movie of all time as well as fav romantic movie.

2. What is the sweetest thing someone has done for you (does not have to be a partner/spouse) ?
Oh man this is a hard one. Well the most recent thing I can think of is about this last Christmas. So as you girls have heard me talk about a bit, I just moved out here last October. Its been rough moving across the country but even tougher leaving my family and friends behind and trying to make new ones. Its always really hard around the holidays being away from them and makes me miss them even more. I knew this year, well last year 2012, that I wouldn't be going home for Christmas. I had just moved 3 months before so flying home didn't make sense with all my new bills and the cost of moving and then trying to afford a flight home during Christmas was going to be outrageous. Final decision was to stay here make things cheaper. But as the time grew closer I started to become upset that I made my decision not to go home and was having a hard time with the fact that I was going to be alone on Christmas. All 4 of my roommates would be gone as well as pretty much everyone that I know in the city, which isnt many yet. Also Kyle is in Italy and wouldn't be here till the 29th, after Christmas. Fortunately for me I was set up with a lady named Kady through my past mentor at my college in CA. She lives in the city and has a house in PA and the love invited me to go stay at her house for Christmas! Seriously such a blessing I was so thankful, not just to have a place to be and go and someone to be with, but for her as well. Kady is the sweetest lady ever and she lives alone in both of these places with her two frenchies. She is an artist/baker/martha stewart lover/crafter/scrapper/dress wearing/flower arranging wonder! We hit it off instantly the first day we met and even more so when I stayed with her. I was with her from Sunday-Wed, so we got to know each other very well. She had a small crowd of her sister, brother in law and a few friends come over for Christmas and it was one of the best Christmases I've had and it made me so joyous and not so sad about missing my family. I still got to Skype with all of them and had good conversations over the phone. But I was really happy I stayed because of Kady.

Ok I need to take a break from this thread for a day haha I write waay too much.

OMG 2peas I swear sometimes your message board post deal frustrates me. I had a long post responding to many of you but it was deleted and instead it posted the answers to my questions twice. I deleted one so hopefully it went away, for some reason its still showing in my browser. I'll have to re-write my response later its been a long first day.

Night girls have a good day tomorrow!

Checking in real quick before bed...

Today, I got my hair cut. I am getting a little bit tired of the curly & longer look, so I told her I wanted it trimmed a "little." Well, it's SHORT! In the back anyway - she did a wedge - super short in the back, then tapered & longer in the front. Hopefully when I wash & style it my way tomorrow, I will like it better!

Found out one of my great uncles passed away a few days ago. The wake was tonight, and service is at Leavenworth National Cemetery on Wednesday. I'm trying to convince my mom to go because it's really beautiful out there, and I love military services. Really sad - we didn't even know he was sick (in fact, his sons said it came on really fast & they were shocked). Even more sad to think that there are only TWO left in my grandma's generation on her side of the family.

okay, I'm rambling! And it's late, so I better read the chatter tomorrow! Night all.

Rosie, I hope I didn't offend you then. I probably sounded so insensitive. I hope as soon as you have the $ you get a baby super fast! I've heard how expensive it is and I know how hard that would be to save, but how wonderful to be a mommy! Good Luck!!

Rachel, I'm excited to make my kit!

1. I love finding out guys favorite chick-flicks - take notes girls. Brian's is Return to Me, my dad loves Sweet Home Alabama. Hitch is also a great date movie (my BIL and a cousin's fave's). Hmm, I'll keep compiling from the men I know! My favorite, hmmm . . . You've Got Mail, maybe, haha. IDK!

2. I brag about my husband all the time aren't you tired of it? Just the every-day things are so appreciated. We certainly aren't the picture perfect couple but I'm lucky to have him.

Monica, I'm so sorry about your Uncle! Were you able to go to the services?

Morning girls!
No plans for today really. I'm going to try to scrap, if the mojo shows up! And I need to go to the grocery store. blah!

Rosie & Loni- Thanks! Loni, I didn't go to the viewing last night, but I'm hoping to go to the funeral tomorrow.

Rach- Love your idea for this month! I'm excited to get my kit together.

1. Favorite romantic movie? Definitely Dirty Dancing! But I also love The Notebook, Dear John, and The Last Song (pretty much all Nicholas Sparks books! But the books are better than the movies )

2. This is a hard question because there has been lots of great things people have done for me in my life. One of the most memorable (which involved a lot of people doing nice things!) was my friend's mom nominated me for a "dream" from the Dream Factory, which is a local version of the Make a Wish Foundation. My dream was to go to San Francisco with my mom (no idea why I chose San Francisco!), so when I was 16 we went on the most awesome vacation! Many companies donated things - like the hotel upgraded us for free, we got a free rental car, Saks Fifth Avenue gave my mom a gift certificate when they heard, got a free limo ride back to hotel after seeing a Broadway show, etc. It was amazing how generous people can be!!

Gosh, that makes me want to go back to San Francisco sooo bad!

Looking forward to February and making a kit. I started one a few months back so hopefully I only need to add a little.

Monica: sry about the loss in your family.

1. The Notebook

2. Oh my gosh between hubby and my girls it's hard. First thing that comes to mind is my Christmas gift from hubby. We usually don't exchange gifts because he's in school and we would rather buy the girls little things and wait until he gets a job. Well he remembered me asking for a bath pillow, body creams and he even got me a facial certificate which I need to use.

Going to get back to my busy day. I'll come chat tomorrow.

1. Princess Bride "as you wish..." OR Love Actually (so many types of love depicted)

2. I think my brother coming home from Africa for my wedding and my family keeping it a secret until he could tell me around Christmas...that was pretty sweet!

Friday...where are you?!?!

@LonR - No, I'm not offended, lol. I laughed out loud, actually. We actually don't even know what our savings goal is at the moment -- we were planning on adopting from Russia, but that path closed around Christmas.

It actually isn't the first time someone's asked something similar. In our church, I think we're the longest married of the young couples without kids. About a year ago, a group was getting together to watch one of the movies from the Facing the Giants producers about fatherhood. My friend asked if I was going and I said no, my husband can't make it -- and I'm not the one who'll be a father one day. And she says, "Oh. Are you...? That's great!" And was SO embarassed when I explained that I just meant it was about fatherhood, not motherhood.

@Monica - That wish story is great. Now it's my turn to ask the rude question -- were you ill at the time? Sorry if it's too personal, but I always thought Make a Wish was for children with life threatening conditions.

Hi girls!

How are you all doing?

These days are crazy.. working at home, working at the office, being by myself, hanging out at my family and at friends in the weekend to not be alone, but longing for some 'me-time' as well.. It's exhausting.. Can't wait to get in a normal rythm again: starting my new job and having D at home again Oh well.. Only a few more weeks (sorry about the whining.. had to vent)

Onto positive things! My discussion answers

1. what is your favourite romantic movie
This is really difficult.. One that pops to mind is "The Holiday".. That Jude Law... *drool*
2. what is the sweetest thing someone has done for you?
Difficult one as well.. Of course everything D did around his proposal was amazing, but my first "sweetest thing" memory is from high school where a guy requested "the most beautiful girl in the world" for me on (nationwide) radio

And some catching up on this thread!

Elizabeth: Thanks so much! Title says: 'Your love makes my world go round'

Rachel: How are you? Recovered from your weekend? Got some time to relax? Love your new pages.. especially the bathing beauty one! Supercute!

Laura: What a story about your (planned) scrapbook session! You had some bad luck going on right there!

But.. Congrats on the job! What is it you do exactly?

Loni: D is gone for little over a week now and still has one week to go.. Don't hear that much from him.. Which bothers me He's always like that when he's abroad, so I should be used to it by now.. But no... It's nothing serious really, just wish he'd let me know how he's doing every once in a while...

Adore your 'Love' layout by the way.. so pretty! love the hearts!

Christina: Thank you! How are you doing now? Got some time to scrap this weekend?

Rosie: welcome back! Good to hear you're feeling better and fun layouts!

Monica: What is it with hairdressers and always cutting too much? Did you manage to style it in your way? Better now?

I'm sorry to hear about your uncle btw...

I'm off to bed now.. Hope to chat some more with you gals this week

Wait, I really want to join the February kit challenge! Gah why does homework exist? I'm writing a grant proposal this month and shouldn't really do anything else.

1. "Ten Things I Hate About You"
or my favorite lesbian romance movies...
"But I'm a Cheerleader"
"The Four-Faced Liar"
"Better than Chocolate"

2. I was once sent a text message by my (ex-) girlfriend from the library system. I had to go look for the book and was lead to the south stacks, where we, uh, proceeded to make out while a surprise party gathered in my room! This was for my 19th birthday.

Hi everyone!! I haven't been on in a little while. Just wanted to drop by and say hello. Trying to keep warm up here as it was -15 again this morning but it looks like the forecast for next monday is 45 I wish it would just make up it's mind. I'm a winter lover as I love to snowmobile but right now I'd give anything to be back in Antigua with my hubby laying on the beach!

Have a great week. I've got to upload some lo's I've been working on.

One thing I'm excited about is getting my Best of Both Worlds February kit from Shimelle!!!

Melissa: that is such a great surprise for the children and I know they enjoyed it. Still sounds like you're having a great time which is good. I don't blame you on not bringing your IPhone. They did a study on it once (maybe more) and it shocked me how many people have a hard time staying away from technology. I am looking forward to pictures on your blog since I don't use Instagram. Continue having fun.

Yesterday was a very busy day and seemed like it would go on forever. Glad I have nothing on the calendar for today. Suppose to be nice and warm out so another trip to the park is in order I guess.

Still trying to get the kit ready and hitting a few bums. I have some paper that I think I might want to use, but I can't tell until I see pictures. Right now I am stuck on my paper selection and it's frustrating me. Hopefully I can search through my paper either today or this weekend and get a good selection to work with.

Hi everyone
I am so so so sorry for being MIA that long...

how is everyone ??? can someone do a quick recap for me ??

Hi to newbees, my name is Caro, French girl living in London, in the UK, training to become a language teacher (French and Spanish) and I am half way there YOUHOU !!!! My bf is Irish and an architect, and I live with 4 housemates (one room is still empty). My family lives in MArseille (France) and my best friend is near Paris.

a lot of things happened to me recently
I finished my 1st placement (the difficult school) with really god references!! I just handed in today a 8000 words essay for uni, and I have been shortlisted for a teaching job for next year, the interview is next monday....(scary...)

Now I have a bit less than 3 weeks at uni (no school, no lesson planning, no book to mark and most of all getting up at 9am : paradise!!)
I will start my new placement on the 25th for 5 weeks and will be working with 16-18 (can't wait!!) and then end of march direction Madrid, Spain !!! for 2 month and a half !!

what else ??? I have not touch my supplies since september and I am so depressed about it.... can't wait to move in with bf (hopefully when i come back from Spain) and have a craft desk !!!

favorite romantic movie?
pride and prejudice, notting hill, the holiday, love actually, twilights, the notebook, all disney's love stories !! ... the list is too long

the nicest thing someone have done for me :
When Damien (my bf) booked tickets and came to meet me in Mexico for 18 days, he literally crossed the Atlantic ocean for me
and he might do the same when I go to Spain

Caro: wow you sound super busy, but yea for almost being done. I feel you on not touching scrapbook supplies. Hoping to change that soon.

Christina: oh I truly love your kit. I love all your choices and just know you are going to make some awesome layouts and I can't wait to see what you come up with. The colors are so beautiful too. Have fun.

Crystal: welcome to the group! Hope you enjoy your time here.

Since it turned out to be a foggy day we did not make it to the park. Just feeling blah all day and working on laundry. Hoping to finish organizing my room and keepsake items the kids make and call it a week. Thanks Christina for posting your kit because it is giving me a lot to think about with my kit. Hoping to get it done by Friday.

Welcome Crystal! Just jump right in we all love to talk about scrapping. I'm Loni, 29, mom of 4 and due with #5 in July. I've been married almost 9 years.

K, Christina and I have a similar color scheme for our kits which is kind of fun. She has a lot of newer stuff and my kit? It looks like a lot, but I think only 4 or 5 of those papers is a full 12x12. LOL. I'm excited to finish off some of those scraps! No all of those scraps.

I layed my little 8x8 layout on there that inspired the kit. I just finished that on Monday when Rachel gave us the challenge so I thought, yes - I will do my kit based on that! Loving this challenge, Rachel!

hola chicas!

First, here is a pic of my new hair:

Told ya it's short!!

Let's see...
Worked on getting my new washi tape listing ready for Etsy. I have almost 50 new designs!! Super stoked about that.

Getting my car fixed, finally. My friend's fiance is a car guy and has connections, so he's helping me out. We are going to have my car towed to his body shop tomorrow. Hallelujah!

I decided today that I am going to bite the bullet & return to school in the fall to get my bachelors. I'm just going to have to rack up student loans, but hopefully it will pay off.

That's today in a nutshell

@Rosie- Not a rude question at all! I had surgery for a brain tumor when I was 11y/o, radiation therapy when it came back a couple of years later, and have had medical issues as a result of the surgery ever since. One of which is that my pituitary does not work at all... super complicated! Even the doctors don't know all there is to know about what the pituitary affects in our bodies.

@Dee- hugs! I hope things get better for you fast. Yes, I'm liking my hair much better since I styled it differently! For reals, what's with hairdressers cutting too short?! oh yeah, I forgot about The Holiday for my fave romantic movies - I LOVE Jude Law. He is so hot!

@Melissa- Sounds awesome! Glad you are having a great time.

@Caro- Congrats on your last 3 weeks at university! So is the Madrid trip for school or a regular vacation? Either way, that sounds awesome!

@Crystal- Welcome! So awesome that you decided to start scrapbooking Hopefully our challenges can offer you some inspiration! Jealous that you live in Cali - I'm hoping to end up there someday soon!

@Loni- Loving your kit! I don't even know where to start... not to mention that I don't have all my stuff here with me.

Rachel, how is the rest of your weekend going? Friday is tomorrow! Want to scrap with me!?

I'm looking forward to my scrapbooking day. It's been kind of a busy week.

Rosie, I think I remember you telling us about your adoption plans now when you were here earlier.

Dee, I am so miserable when B and I are apart! You can complain to me all you want. I've never had to spend 2 weeks apart. I think the longest was 3 or 4 days! and it was awful!! So I know how you feel. Sorry he isn't keeping in contact more.

Melissa, of course! That makes perfect sense. I just want to see pics now! hehe. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures when you get back.

Elizabeth, our lives are so similar. Why don't you let the housekeeping go for tomorrow and scrap with me for a few hours!

Hi Caro! Great to see you checking in. That is so great that you are nearly done and even have an interview lined up. Let us know how it goes!

Monica, I like your hair. The perm gives it some volume and it's a cute stack in the back. Making a kit is harder than you'd think! What was I thinking doing a monthly kit club? (this is good practice )

I'm soliciting. Everyone come scrap with me on Friday!!

Monica: love the cut! Actually Hoping to one day be brave to cut mine that way. I keep saying next year and before you know it it's 2 years past and still nothing. Looks good. Hopefully you can get financial aid to help you with covering for school. Wish you luck if you decide to go back.

Loni: lol. I had to do some cleaning, but now I decided to clean my paper rack so I get touch my paper and get my kit together. Hoping it goes quick so I can get scrapping this weekend. Look forward to seeing what you make with your kit. Girl when are you going to tell me what you are having? Lol. Hope you are doing good though with the pregnancy.

Okay well I am cleaning out my paper rack and hoping it goes good because I am running out of room to put it all. Hope to be done later and finish my kit. Have a good day ladies!
