Hi everyone, I tried to get back to scrapping last night but got back so late. I have finished the layout I started yesterday and have started on a new one. Might have to stop and clean up until after dinner (got it in crockpot for game). I'm not going to watch game so can get back to scrapping after we eat.

For you ladies that were working on the FASFA, it has to be filled out yearly. We found this out when my daughter didn't get her scholarship money and then we had to go through registrar to figure it out. Good news is they do release monies as soon as you turn it in. Good luck.

OMG Jeanne...me too! First, congrats to your daughter. What is her first choice college? My daughter said if $$$ was no object and she knew she would be admitted she would choose Columbia in NYC. She has gotten two state university acceptances, one with a VERY nice scholarship, so we will see.

Congrats to your daughter, too! Where has she been accepted?

Dd has been accepted at University of the Pacific with a nice merit scholarship. She also just received an acceptance from Cal Poly, Pomona in Environmental Science and they have asked her to apply for their Kellogg Honors College. Her first choice is UC Davis but we will see - it is very tough to get into. All of her applications (public and private) are in CA except for Lewis and Clark in OR. She seriously thought about University of Chicago but $$ and distance put a hold on that.

OK, finished taxes so I can work on the FASFA but I want to scrapbook - at least a little...

Jeanne

I managed to get another layout done and it turned out great. I even got to play with my inks and sprays which I love. I have been watching some of Shimelle's 4x6 videos and going to give some of her ideas a try. Between yesterday and today I have managed to get 5 layouts done. We don't do the superbowl thing so I will scrap until time for supper and kids bath time.

I'm back in my command central chair now. I don't know what I'll actually get accomplished, but I'm here.

I finished all of the journaling and titles for 2010. Now I need to:
wipe the photos
put page protectors on the pages

So.....isn't it crazy how much is involved to get it from a jpeg to a layout in an album? I am determined to do better on getting my finished layouts right into albums this year. I tend to slip them in there and they pile up and it's just a yucky chore to slip them into protectors in bulk. And now I'm shooting myself because I didn't "wipe down" my photos yesterday! I'll just have to let that slide....

I totally agree, Penny! I spent two l-o-n-g days just taking the typed journaling and adding it to the layouts and cutting titles, now doing all the finishing. It was actually a test to see if it was faster to do it that way, or to do journaling, titles, etc. one layout or subject at a time. I don't know what is faster, but I did NOT enjoy doing it this way!

So,they are wiped, in albums with page protectors and now I am on to the last three layouts for the year. The room is cleaned back up and a break to make appetizers is coming up...and then I am back at it! This has been a fun weekend!

JessicaB, nope, I don't use any of them now. I scrap in "stages".

First, I make a list of types of layouts I need, birthday, Christmas, etc. then I make a bunch of layouts following sketches. When I have a good pile, I grab a bunch and match them to photos I want to use.

When I have a bunch of layouts that have photos, I grab a bunch of those and add the embellishments, titles and journaling.

This way, I don't have a bunch of stuff out at once making a mess and driving me nuts. I also don't get bored scrapping say one big event at once. Plus, it allows me to be more creative I think when I do embellish and journal them. It gives me more time to really think about it I guess.

I know it is completely backward but it works for me and I am really able to crank out awesome looking layouts!

The majority of my photos are uncropped so I look for sketches that have mainly uncropped photos on them or ones with mainly uncropped and a few smaller ones. I have always been able to make the pages work with the photos, if I need a special size, I just print one or crop down a larger photo or add extra embellishments or a larger journaling box.

I got used to adding the photos after when I started using the SG kits and now I just scrap this way all the time.

I have been using Echo Parks boys life today and have already made 10 layouts to add to my stash. I have a few more to go and then I'm going to pull out some Christmas paper and start making some layouts from that.

I'm trying to scrap as much as possible this weekend as the next two weekends I can't scrap at all. Next Saturday is the County science fair and the rest of the time, I have planned a dining room moulding project. I'm adding chair rail and decorative accents to my dining room and entry way. So excited about that project!!

Stephanie sounds like you are having a very productive day. Love those. LOL deciding to stop cleaning and start scrapping. I do that sometimes. Go in intending to put some stuff away or sort some stuff and end up scrapping instead.

Thanks for the tip about the mat Penny. Cricut mats are at least readily available. Might have to go pick one up at Ms when I'm out this week.

I only scrapped one page today.

But I've been into Super Bowl tv most of the day.

I wasn't going to decorate since it is only the 4 of us this year, but my son really wanted to. So out came the football decoration box, and we got decked out.

Hello All!

Not actual scrapping today but am helping DD's finish up the valentine cards they have made. Also played with my Cameo and finally learned how to take a regular cut file and make it a print and cut. I am way behind on learning all it can do. Gonna make valentine t-shirts for my girls and their 2 friends that were over yesterday for our "card-making" party.

So this is a dumb question...but when you guys say you are wiping down your pictures before putting them in page protectors...what are you using or how are you doing this? I feel like I am doing something wrong cause I have never done this.

I wipe my photos down with one of those cloths used to wipe eye glasses with. Don't know what they are called, if they are called anything specific.

A friend of mine works for an eye doc and when she found out I scrapped, she gave me a pile of them to use. Use them to get the prints and dust off before the layout is put into the protector.

DS decided that he didn't need a nap today, so scrapping time will have to wait until this evening.

I did get some done last night. My current project is DS's baby book, PL-style. So far I've gone through pregnancy-5 month pictures and arranged them into different style page protectors. Now I'm going back through that and popping in title, filler and journal cards.

I cut a bunch of my scraps with baby boy colors into 4x6 and 3x4 cards last month when I did a big scrap-bust project. I'm using those, plus I've got about 5 recent baby-ish lines that I'm mixing and matching in. It's a lot of fun so far!

Mebarnet, you have been productive!!!

I am using a microfiber type cloth that I got years ago with un-du. If there is any adhesive/something that won't come off the photo, I wipe it off with a bit of un-du on the cloth.

you guys say you are wiping down your pictures before putting them in page protectors...what are you using or how are you doing this?

It's done primarily, IMO, to get all fingerprints off of photos. I get matte pictures and my prints off of my Charm do not show fingerprints. When I do need to wipe a print off, I use that CM cloth that was a NSD gift years ago.

All my completed layouts are tucked away. I tidied up the insides of my desk drawers and I need to straighten up my stamps. The last few months I have just piled up my Studio AE sets...

Next up - I need to get out my batch of in process layouts and begin the finishing touches to them all....

Working on a few more pages. Not in the right place/mood to do the finish up on layouts, so I'm building some more band pages. Working on dd's freshman year. Of course, dh, dd and her boyfriend are all looking through the pictures reliving her first year.

I got 3 layouts done this weekend between everything else. I wish I could have gotten more done, but happy with 3. Congratulations Ravens.

I haven't ever thought of cleaning photos, either. Good idea.
