I do put papers together to form kinda the beginnings of a kit and then I can grab the embellishments and letter stickers to coordinate once I know what papers and photos I am going to use. So basically I start a kit and when I am ready to scrap I grab what I need to finish the kit and start scrapping. This saves me time.

I usually make up kits whether I finish them at a crop or at home. I get the photos for the pages that I want (usually 4-6 LO's) and them pull the supplies that I want to use of those LO's. It seems so much quicker to pull cardstock and go through my stash just one time for several LO"s than to do it for each individual LO. I have file folders that I put everything in for that LO. If I have 4-6 page kits ready to work on and no crop to go to I'll finish them at home before I start more page kits.

I've only done this once, for the last 12 hour crop that I went to. I had never done it before and I was nervous about not taking all the stuff I normally would with me. I ended up LOVING it! It was so nice to just pull out the kit and get started. No thinking required! I got so much done (came out with 12 2 page LOs done, and a few one pagers too!) And I even had to leave for a few hours to sing at a wedding and came back so I really only had 10 hours at the crop.

I really enjoyed the kits. I just put each one together around the photos I wanted to use. Grabbed the PP and CS that worked and then grabbed stickers last. I took my tackle box that has my eyelets, brads, etc. in it with me so that I wouldn't have to worry about little pieces getting lost. I took my ink pads and stamps also (I don't have a lot of them, they fit in a 31 tote)I had more to work on than I got done and that made doing pages when I got home a snap! I'm thinking about making kits up on a monthly basis and just grabbing one each time I want to scrap.

I put together my own kits because it makes scrapping a bit easier and less overwhelming. It also helps me to make sure my purchases are used for a specific purpose. Here is a blog post that I wrote about creating your own page kit: http://donnienicole.com/2013/02/20/how-to-make-a-scrapbook-page-kit/ How to Make a Page Kit

I love making my own kits each month. I used to belong to a kit club but I started noticing more and more kits sitting unused because they just weren't my style. It makes it so much easier to sit down and scrap when I already love all the product and except for alphas and washi, I usually use up every last bit. When I have time I also try to play along with the counterfeit kit club they have tons of links to helpful tutorials.

I have tried to make full kits but find it too overwhelming. Also, I have a hard time knowing what embellishments I want to use until I start a layout. What I do though is put together sets of papers that seem to go together well, usually about 5-8 sheets. This has really helped me get started on layouts without agonizing about every detail.

Thank you to all that shared how they create kits. I have done this before and need to do so again.

I don't put kits together since my stash is small and I can pretty much look through everything within a few minutes. I probably would make kits though if I ever get s dedicated scrap room and enough supplied to fill it.
