Me...I have 2 cricuts(one that I can use SCAL with & one that I can use gypsy with) plus original sizzix, sidekick & quickutz. I'm good.....don't have time to learn or space to store another system. | |

That's a no from me. I don't have any sort of cutting machines and don't think that will change. Would rather spend the money on more thickers, and goodies I will use. | |

However I don't have a relieable computer and I'm already invested deeply in a Cricut. What I do want is a Cricut E2 for Mother's Day. | |

So glad someone posted this. The cameo does nothing for mostly because you need your laptop. I have a Cuttlebug I use mostly for embossing and a cricut I uses for vinyl crafts. No need for a cameo ! | |

Although I love the looks you can achieve with a cameo, I don't have the room for it. It's the same reason I don't own a printer. | |

I desperately wanted a cameo. And then I got one. It's such a pain to use because we don't have a lot of space. It's been used about 3 times since I bought it :/ It involves moving furniture around and crawling under and around a desk to use it LOL I am hoping when we move (hopefully at the end of the month) and I have a dedicated crafting room that I feel more inspired to use it but at the moment it's just eh, I could do without it. | |

I don't, although I do "use" my computer to scrap in that I usually have videos playing on it.
I bought a Slice a few years ago and feel like I really haven't gotten my money's worth from it. I think I'd feel the same about any other die cut machine. I'm not planning to replace my Slice with another machine when it dies.
Another concern is space. I could store a lot of other products in that amount of space! I guess I'm more of a punches, alpha stickers, and stamps king of girl. | |

What an interesting thread.
I also do not want a cameo.
I think I am a little burned on the marketing of these appliances and kits that are expensive and "must haves".
I am getting a liitle indignant and crotchety in my "old age", and heaven help me if I am not hellbent on creating a lovely meaningful album without buying PL, SC, etc.
And that is just a kick at retail in general, and no one who uses and finds joy in those products. I am just a forty-something with a depression era mentality, I guess. | |

I have a Cricut and a boat load of cartridges. I want a Cameo for those great background shapes I see people using. It took me quite awhile to weld a bunch of circles together to get a background I wanted with the Gypsy. It bugged me in the end. If PC can make a cartridge of just backgrounds or someone point me in that direction I wouldn't be dwelling about the Cameo | |

I have no desire to get a cameo either. I have an E2 that I use with my gypsy and a regular expression that I can use with the Scal Program. This setup is the best of both worlds to me. The cameo seems complicated and time consuming and I am sure there is a steep learning curve. I am also sure that like the cricut, there are cuts with the cameo that are difficult to get a good clean cut too, it can't be perfect all the time. | |

I don't have one and don't want/need one.
In fact, I bought the first Cricut that could cut up to 6 inches.
I used it a couple of times.
I sold it at the garage sale last year.
I don't have any other die cut machine or tool. | |

Not specifically a cameo - but it would be nice to have another machine that cuts more accurately/sharply than the cricut. However, I'm rather unlikely to purchase one. I do have MTC for when I need something specific I can't do with a cricut (like my recent Miss Saigon layouts in which I used the logo).
It is more of hassle to be hooked to a computer but I do love having that option should I be so inclined to put up with the hassle. I think PC really missed the boat in a HUGE way (and frankly, I wonder if they scrape the bottom of the barrel for software designers). | |

I have a Cricut. I've invested thousands into it with carts and accessories. I'm really irritated with Provo Craft, though, because I can't use Cricut Craft Room with most of my carts because they are linked to the Gypsy.
I haven't used the Cricut in awhile and I think it's because I'm so annoyed about the linking and Gypsy issue. | |

Well, I didn't want one until I saw a lot of the amazing things that the Garden Girls and Peas are doing with theirs so now I'm sort of lusting after one. But it's way out of my budget and I just many not be "computer-smart" enuff to use it.
For now, I'll make do with my BigKick and Thickers, hoping the price will eventually come down. Maria | |

In a perfect world, I'd love to have one seeign what everyone does with it. HOWEVER, I have the original cricut and I used it twice. It is sitting in the original box for what? 5 years now? oi!
I have a big shot and love my dies. I'd love to cut letters and stuff but just don't have the patience. The biggest issue I have with scrapping is using the computer to print the photos out so I don't imagine I'd be happy sitting in front of the computer working on cut files either | |

I started with a Wishblade, later moved up to a Gazelle, then added a Cricut Expression and Gypsy to my cutting collection. I don't need a Cameo, too.
The Gazelle can do anything the Cameo can do, and has a higher cutting pressure. I am very adept at creating my own designs. The Wishblade can use Silhouette store designs if I want to buy them. I also have a significant collection of Cricut cartridges with designs that I like, so I think I'm good with what I have.
When I bought my first electronic cutter, my scrappy spending dropped to almost nil. I bought it mainly for titles, so I could stop buying dies, especially alphabets, but quickly realized I could do so much more with it. Once I got my Wishblade, I made all my own embellishments, and I even was able to use my machine in a profitable way. For quite awhile, I created designs for sale. I got the Gazelle from my design work, because I was able to swap design work for the machine, and I wanted a wider cutter. I also used to teach classes at the LSS, and I earned money with my electronic cutters by creating unique projects for the classes. It was useful having two machines when I was teaching classes, because I could cut everything twice as fast. Later, when I had some extra money, I bought the Cricut because I liked some of their designs and no longer had as much time to create my own.
I would never go back to having NO electronic cutter, even though I like and use my manual cutters, too. I think for those who haven't bought an electronic cutter and are thinking of getting one, the Cameo is a great choice. It's versatile and relatively affordable. I can understand why it's so popular.
However, I can also understand those who aren't interested in the Cameo or any other electronic cutter. I agonized over spending the money on my first cutter, worried about whether the learning curve would be too hard, wondered where I could put it in my small house. But it was worth it, I did learn it, and I made room. And I was hooked from that time on. | |
