I suspect that's an old picture. The weather here has been dry and sunny for about a week and I don't know of any parts of Oregon that are THAT wet right now. There is a coastal area that looks like that every year at some point, though.

*****ATTENTION OREGON PEAS*****(everyone else kindly skip this post. Except for maybe the Washington Peas that might could use a reminder)

Please shut up about the nice weather you are experiencing. We don't want everyone else from everywhere else moving up here, now do we? So please go back to the approved party line: RAIN RAIN RAIN GRAY MIST RAIN. AND MORE RAIN. When people think Pacific Northwest we want them to think Pacific North WET.

Got it?!

Good.

So mums the word.

I'm curious where that photo was taken. The road looks very familiar to me.

Edited to add

I got the county right, but not the road. I've seen references to the photo having been taken in Lincoln county.

This is on East Devils Lake Road in Lincoln City. I live really close to this road. It floods every time we get a ton of rain. Just down from the outlet mall.

And it ALWAYS rains in Oregon. We are not currently having beautiful, glorious sunny weather this week. And I did not sit on my back deck on Saturday and watch a surf competition with 30 foot monster waves. I swear none of this happened this week! And the sunsets suck. And we keep getting random Japanese tsunami stuff littering our beaches (anyone need a huge dock? or a boat that washed up on Sunday?).

Just to be clear, that fish is a protected species and must be returned to it's natural habitat and not seperated from it's umbrella stealing friends and family. In case anyone thought they would walk outside and catch a fish to EAT for dinner. You can't.

True, BudgetMama. And we are all required to do rotating fish husbandry schedules where we find any fish that have gone astray of their migratory patterns and return them, in an ecologically sensitive way, to their proper home.

Your information (misinformation?) program is clearly working...

I headed to Oregon on vacation looking forward to rainy, gray and misty (what can I say? I don't like the sun).

Then it was sunny and bright every day!

Other than that darn sun... your state was lovely and not pumping my gas was fantastic!

How sad is it that in addition to the beauty of the coast and Crater Lake National Park... it's the gas pumping that really sticks in my mind? You might want to keep that on the QT too. It makes moving there very appealing - even if it is super sunny there.

You would REALLY appreciate the gas pumping if you saw what those poor pump jockeys go thru on a rainy day, fending off attacks of vicious umbrella wielding fish.

It isn't pretty, believe me.

As a former Oregonian, I want to add, to anyone thinking of moving there, another thing that grows well is GIANT ARMY GREEN SLUGS. The average Oregon slug is about 6 inches long. Larger are not uncommon. I once stepped on a rock to reach better blackberries and it MOVED under my foot. My entire weight was on this GARGANTUAN slug about 6 inches WIDE and who knows how long. Scared me bleepless.

You PNW people are just stingy, s.t.i.n.g.y. wanting to keep that beautiful part of the country all to yourselves.

I'm a Midwest girl, born and bred, but when I saw the Seattle and further north area, man, I could live there in a heartbeat. Such a contrast with the ocean in one direction, forest in another and beautiful snow covered mountains.

stingy. stingy. stingy. {said in my best Gomer Pile voice}
