I got really excited when I heard the news that they will NOT deliver mail on Saturdays.... until they said "packages will continue"
Am I the only one who prefers our Two Peas boxes of goodness to be delivered during the week when the husbands are at work?? It's stressful enough trying to accurately calculate the speed of the Two Peas "pickers", their lunch breaks, holidays, etc. Don't even get me started on the "speed" of the USPS! No package deliveries on Saturday's would have been amazing. SIGH. It's not that I'm "hiding" anything from the hubs, it just seems like I have to "reorganize/shuffle" my space so you don't notice new items. It's for my benefit really, not the hubby's.

I'm the opposite. why wait an extra day to get your goodies!? I'm happy that boxes will continue to be delivered on Saturdays!

My husband and I both work nights with rotating days, and not always the same days, so I can never count on being the only one to see my new packages!

This is funny. I am happy they kept Saturday packages. It means I can still get pics delivered for weekend scrapping.

LOL. I don't mind if SO knows, I don't think my ordering is unreasonable. I'm with the folks who said they want to get their products faster!

If the packages aren't delivered Saturday...it means waiting until monday! I'm really bad at this patience thing.

I thought the exact same thing. My thought was now I can have them delivered to the office and I don't have to worry about getting them on Saturdays when no one would be there.
Not that I am hiding anything from him. Heck he can see my bank statement anytime from where he works. But still, it is mine and I want to savor it without "looks" from him.

Yes, it is nice to go over the contents of the box without anyone else judging me for drooling over a piece of paper and some tape!

I think it's great that packages will still be delivered on Saturday! Thankful if I receive any scrapbook goodies in the mail... regardless of the day.

I live in the country so I really don't see how delivering packages vs. the regular mail is going to save any money? It's still putting on the miles for the mailperson to drive out here. I seriously have my doubts that rural service for packages will actually happen.

Because a lot more people get mail (even if it's junk) than get packages. It really will cut costs.
I think one of the reasons why they would continue to deliver packages is because of storage. They would need a lot more room to hold packages for an extra day.
ETA: I also imagine it causes a problem with medicines delivered by mail if they hold them an extra day.

I agree with you, but I was referring to those of us who live in the country. I am 17 miles from the post office. It is still going to cost money to drive all around the country side hence why I'd be surprised if I personally would still get Saturday package delivery.

Ok,so....I lost the "sarcasm factor" somewhere along the way. I was just being funny about my husband finding out about my "scrapholic" issues. lol If I could order on one day and get my goodies within the week, that would be amazing.

But they still wouldn't be driving as much.
The change won't be happening until August. Wonder why not a few months earlier than that.

I was a rural route carrier for a while (on saturdays) and there were usually only a few packages for my whole route (less than 10) compared to thousands of pieces of regular mail.
this was about 10 years ago,and I bet there are a lot more packages now, but still nothing compared to all that junk mail.

I live on a really busy street and I'm always worried that my package will get stolen! Of course, I always get insurance, but they just leave it in plain view on the porch - it's way better if it comes on a Saturday when I can be there!
One time they put it over the back fence and didn't leave a note or anything and it rained that night! Thank God the paper is in a plastic bag or it would have been ruined! Oh USPS, I do have a love/hate relationship with you!
