I was thinking it was part of a comedy routine. It definitely was not. I don't really care that much about Chris Rock's opinions, but I really did get the idea that that is how he feels about the president. It was an odd statement (the whole statement). Sort of like "I trust the president and I support the president, so whatever he wants to do, I support it." That's a little weird to me, but he has a right to his opinion.
What's odder to me is that anybody cares what these people have to say with respect to this particular subject, unless I missed where they have been personally affected by gun violence. I just find that rather bizarre. Their opinion should hold no more weight than, say, mine. I think it's kind of skeezy, actually.

Jesus, who the fuck really cares what Chris Rock says? He's a comedian. It's not like he's secretly planning a coup d'etat for God's sake.
Some people on this thread are really going to get a stroke before President Obama's term is done.
Since when are comedians taken seriously? I mean, by the very nature of the word, they aren't.
Much ado about nothing. As usual.
Thank you! Sheesh Rocks comments were mild compared to other things I've heard said about the President.
I don't think anyone should take the words of a celebrity seriously. Ted Nugent said that the President was a "piece of shit" and should "suck on [his] machine gun". Now that's something to start a thread over! But then again, it's Ted Nugent. LOL That's what I expect from a guy like him.
Bravo! Perfectly said.....If you want to be outraged, then be outraged over EVERY comment of EVERY celebrity that has something to say about the President.
Personally, Chris Rock's comments are far less offensive than the continual spew that comes out of Ted Nugent's mouth and he even gets a regular spot in the national media to spew those views. Isn't he Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity's best buddy?

Just another Hollywood actor / comedian that cheats on his wife and buys groceries at the local Ralph's. Why is this a big deal? I don't agree with him, but there's a lot of people I don't agree with. He's entitled to his opinion, no matter how wrong I think it is.
