I love the use of embellishments and clusters in a visual triangle, but how do you do it for a two page layout? Do you do two triangles, one for each page. Or just one triangle for the whole layout?
I'm trying to stretch a one page sketch to a two page and not sure where to put the clusters. |

I do it over the whole two pages. Like a 12" x 24" single page. |

Yes, what the above poster said, that way you are tying both sides of the double page spread together. |

I agree with the above posters - I would just do one big triangle, it ties the two pages together. I would put a bigger cluster one on one page and two smaller ones on the other. |

I agree with a triangle over the whole 2 page spread. The purpose is to keep the eye moving across the page, and I'd think with a double page LO you want to keep the eye moving across the whole spread, not just one page and them maybe another.

Same here, treat it as one extra long layout. |

Over the two pages. But you can also use more than one triangle - you could, for example, use red in three spots and aqua enamel dots in three spots. But I would do both triangles across both pages still, since their purpose is to draw the viewers eye across the pages. |

Does anyone have a link showing an example of visual triangle over two pages? I'd really like to see it in action, so to speak. |

over two pages, but sometimes I do more than one and it becomes more like a z than a triangle |

I just did a two page layout where the visual triangle came to play, on the second page. Here
I used this sketch. If I had completely followed the sketch, the visual triangle would be spread out on both pages instead of on just the second.
So, either way. It's just one of those things I have to play around with and see what looks best. |

Glitter Girl just did two videos recently that showed a triangle over a two page LO...
Project Life two page LO with triangle
Scrapbook two page LO with triangle
Depending on where you want the emphasis to be, you can also do a triangle on one page and then one strong cluster/embellishment/title on the other page... If it helps, think of it like decorating - one, two, odd numbers, or some sort of arrangement of those; pairs tend to read as more 'formal' or 'proper' than odds; the more space between groupings/focal points the more your eye moves (can look dynamic or busy) and the less space between the less your eye moves (can look restrained or calm)... |

Thanks! I did end up doing one triangle across the whole two page spread. I should do photos. Maybe that will be my task for today!
I had Glitter Girls going on in the background, I think she was a subconscious boost to my mojo too!
ETA: here is my layout - first post in years!

You can also achieve the triangle with your photos using the direction of the elements--faces, trees, houses, hands, etc. Or you can use spots of color; for instance, use a stand out color to mat 3 different photos, use bling or dots, or mist three different areas. You can use more than one triangle.
Visual triangles have been used for centuries. Take a look at some old masters; pay attention to your eye's movement (really the brain's movement) around the page. Quite interesting what you can achieve with visual triangles.

I think both one the one page and one 2 can work, you can also use different elements to do more than one triangle, maybe 3 red accents are on a single page but 3 blue things are across the whole double layout.
