So I'm noticing some collections (Amy Tangerine's Yes, Please comes to mind) that have both a paper pad (48 single-sided sheets, $19.99) and a collection pack (18 double-sided sheets and Thickers, $17.99).

What is your preference? There's more bang for your buck with the paper pad - but I tend to prefer double-sided sheets I don't have to rip out.

Either, don't mind
Both - have to have it all
Neither - don't care

I love a good collection pack. On the other hand, a paper pad is nice too. If I had an unlimited scrap budget I would get both, but if I have to choose it would be the collection pack.

I prefer single-sided paper anyway, and I have a Cameo for letters. That said, sometimes the collection packs come with stickers and vellum whereas the paper pads don't, so it really depends on the line.

I tend to get the collection packs only IF I like all the patterns, which is very rare. I tend to buy the pads if they are at Ms (Like Neopolitian and Sketchbook) and I get them cheap.

What usually happens for me is I pick and choose the paper and embellies I want for the particular collection.

I'd rather have a collection pack. I would buy a paper pack if there was no collection pack but prefer the individual sheets cause they can then go into my stash more easily. But I don't buy many whole collections now days anyway

Collection pack -- I like some matching stickers. Plus, I don't need/want/use 48 sheets of any one line.

I'm a cherry picker, so I don't really buy either very often, like maybe 2 collections ever. With that said, I can go either way just depending on if I like the embellishments or not.

FYI-For some reason the poll isn't working for me.

I prefer the collection packs. Some of the new Ms pads though, like the MME ones, I have purchased to stretch my collection pack further!

I don't do the other pads though. I learned my lesson from those a long time ago! So much of it just goes to waste.

I saw Neapolitan at HL for the first time today. I felt like the paper was a lot thinner though. I didn't have time to really check it out - is that normal in your experience? One sided paper weight instead of double sided cardstock weight? Just the same as long as you have something else for the background I guess it would work. I haven't ever seen paper pads before!

Also, is it the same number of total designs?

Funny you should ask. I just picked up the Dear Lizzy Neopolitan at HL over the weekend (50% off!). I'm glad I got it, but 48 sheets of one line is a lot!

I think that usually I would prefer the collection pack with double-sided papers, and not quite so many of them! Though I usually just pick my favorite papers and embellies rather than a full pack.

I don't know that I would use up the paper pad. I prefer to buy collection packs that have some matching stickers or alphabets.

I don't buy collection packs if it is just paper and alphabets, but if it comes with other embellishments, like image stickers, I like them. I'd pick a collection pack over a paper pad. I don't need 2 or more of the same piece of paper!

I prefer collection packs, but I really like either. The majority of lines I buy are either in a collection pack or paper pad; I rarely cherrypick.

Plus a list of what papers are not included so I can buy them separately!

I prefer to pick and choose, really.

The really big paper packs catch my eye, but I know from experience that I tend to get tired of them before they are even half gone.

Definitely collection packs. I got over pads a long time ago, and could never stand that funky glued edge. I like the double sided paper, and thicker weight of the regular paper, as well.

A lot of it really depends on the line. Lately I've been buying the 6x6 pads with a couple 12x12 sheets and then some embellishments if I really like the line and want the full variety. I generally stay away from collection packs only because I'd rather pick and choose what papers and embellishments I want. Sometimes I'll want more sheets of one pattern and none of another so typically it's a better value for me to just piece something together.

Collection pack for me. Like someone else mentioned, the paper pads have thinner paper. Plus like the OP, I don't like to tear my sheets out unless it's from a 6x6 or 8x8 pad. Reminds me of DCWV. Those drove me .

I'd go with a collection pack because I'm mostly a b-side scrapper, and I cut all my paper down since I scrap 8.5x11. Gives a bit more variety. I also find that a collection pack goes a long way. I usually find a single sheet of paper can make it on at least a half dozen pages or more.

Generally, I tend to buy single sheets of paper. I only buy the collection packs when I either love the entire line, or I can't get the sheets individually.

my new favorite way to buy is a 6x6 pad, so I get almost all the papers (cheap!) in the collection and a few 12x12 singles.

Almost always, if I just cherrypick a few pieces from a collection, later I will see someone else use one I didnt buy in a fantastic way, and then I wish I had it all. This is why I like the 6x6!

Aren't the paper pads fairly new for companies like AC?

I've always bought collection packs and love them.

Collection packs! I don't want a ton of paper and especially a ton of the same paper. Plus, for some strange reason, I dislike single sided pp. Makes no sense, I know.

Usually I would definitely go with a collection pack... or just buy the individual sheets that I *really* wanted. But in the case of Yes, Please... I bought the paper pad because I wanted EVERY piece! Plus, the Thickers that came with the collection pack were just black glitter thickers, which I have enough of!

I like to buy paper pads if I have a coupon and the paper is a decent weight. What I like about a paper pad is that you can use all of the prints. I hate having to choose which paper I won't be able to use. I don't think it is a bargain to buy 18 double sided sheets because I will only use one side.

I NEVER buy the paper packs that have 180 sheets.

I prefer the collection packs as opposed to the pad, because I like the weight/textured of the paper in the pack. The pad usually has thinner paper.

I like the heavier weight paper packs--not the ones with the gazillion really thin sheets. I also only typically get them if I have e certain project in mind. For instance I am getting really to make a "question of the week" project for each of my parents to get some family history and bought a paper pack to make it all coordinate.

It depends. Collection packs usually include stickers or alphas or an embellishment. If I really don't like these I'll get a paper pad or individual sheets.

I'm going to get sick of a collection LOOONG before I use 48 sheets of it, so I would much rather have the Thickers.
