If you find a 'modern' way to scrap these, will you post it? I have a TON that I need to use up. Maybe this calls for Glitter Girl?

Definitely calls for glitter girl, I'm just now catching up to modern lol and I scrap lift it all. I just used it the old fashioned in the tag way so I could tie some twine on the tag so boring haha

when brads came out people were saying use them where you'd use an eyelet.

well, now brads have been popular - do the reverse.

Good advice, kaleidoscope! I guess I think of eyelets differently since they leave an open hole in the middle, so they give a different look. I'll have to try this next time.

I still find many great ways to use mine. I'll never use mine up because I own too many! They do come in handy for several things though.

I'm in this club too, too many eyelets! They do make a nice addition if you make your own tag from a circle or traditional tag shape from pop, gives it a finished look. However, I think I'd have to make about a zillion tags to use all of mine up...

This thread reminded me of my long-forgotten Iris drawer full of eyelets. In every color and finish. I, too, would like to at least make a dent in them. I'm thinking I could use them like GG/Shimelle uses her gems, just as little accents around an embellishment cluster.

I didn't forget I had them, because I got rid of all of them. Too much of a pain, so I replaced them with brads.

I still use them now and then. I'm the only one of my family or friends that really scrapbooks. They don't know that eyelets are "out" when they receive a gift album. Really, neither will I in 10-20 years as I'm looking at my albums!

I was just trying to figure out a way to use mine also. I did a layout last night going through all of my older metal scrap goodies and was trying to figure out a way to use them in an updated way. I did manage to use a couple of conch pieces in my embellishment clusters as well as some tiny brads. I am thinking on this and am going to try an experiment!

I used three ghost shaped eyelets last night, and I'm so proud of myself. Granted, it was on a LO with pics from 2005, so it's right on par with the trend.

You know, I have about eight eyelets to my name, all of which I received in two different swaps years ago. Five of the eight are basic green ones, and if I owned anything I could have set them with, they would have been set on a card I just made. In the center of some flowers. But alas, they are just there, taking up space with my dwindling brad collection.

I use my eyelets quite a bit, any time I need to hang DD art projects. However, I have quite a bit of the the shaped brads I need to use up and I am not a card maker.

Eyelets are getting trendy again, so let's all go and look for those old favorites in our stash! I'm sure they haven't seen the daylight for years? I just happened to find some of my old eyelets a month ago and thought: Yes! lol!

I just used a bunch on a banner. I put two eyelets at the top of each of the triangle pennants & strung my twine through them. I will post a pic later.

I found a great way to use up eyelets:

I just did a LO of playing the game Clue. Made an envelope like the one mentioned above--used 8 eyelets. I didn't like the paper of the 1st one. Spelled Top Secret wrong on the 2nd one, messed up something else on the 3rd one. The 4th is perfect. The LO is adorable; if I may say so my self.

About a year ago a link to a blog showed up here where the LO designer made absolutely gorgeous layouts and used a ton of eyelets. One thing I remembered her doing is threading ribbon through them to make a sort of "laced up" look on the page. Unfortunately I lost the link but maybe someone else saved it??

@rune2484 - love your envelopes!

I like using them for tags like I did on this layout: Oktoberfest

Would love to see some fresh modern ideas since I have a stash as well.

I am the least trendiest person in the pod here and I still use my eyelets. And I still use a hammer and "old-fashioned" setter. I bought a Crop-o-dile several years ago and I absolutely hate that thing!
I use mine on cards, with flowers and other embellishments.
