... I don't use a tape runner or anything like that as my adhesive. In all the years I've been scrapping I've never really thought about it until lately watching these GG videos and thinking .... "Hmmm one of those might speed my process a bit... "

I started with a glue stick oh so many years ago ...

Then tried every type of adhesive under the sun including little runners and the huge one.

I keep coming back to Herma tabs. They're repositionable for a while, then become permanent. And I'm a change-yer-minder. So I NEED that!

They're a pain to put on though, not fast at all. I don't run them across the page; I pick them off one at a time and place where I want 'em. I do like that I can cut them in halves or thirds for skinny things. And they've stood the test of time - nothing falling off my pages in the over 10 years I've been using them.

I'm jealous of those who are happy with adhesive runners

I don't use a tape runner either. I use double sided sticky tape and remove the backing so that I get bits of white paper all through the house. A tape runner would be a bit tidier for me.

I started with a glue stick {mumble} years ago. I then switched to the tombow... but I too have tried everything... tabs, squares, ATG...
Right now I use the AC dot runner that Shimelle uses, because she picks stuff up and moves it like I do, so I tried it. I like it much better than the huge ATG that never works for me

I use the little squares that you have to pull off individual, so I have all those little white papers every where and avery glue stick that I buy at staples. I have my atg sitting in my shelf, because I just never really got the hang of it.
I also use my xyron for some things.

I use an ATG, but I still do have (and use) the little squares, too... and I use Elmer's school glue or glue-stick on very small, odd-sized punches. Basically, I use an assortment of adhesives.

The ATG tape is VERY sticky, but I only use very small pieces of it, so it's not too difficult to take off if I need to move something. (and it is a LOT quicker!)

I use my Herma tabs that go in the dispenser however, I take one at a time and position it where I want it and like Journey FAn I can cut it in a triangle and half. I still use a glue stick I know I know but I use it for my paper. So far in 10 years everything is still where I put them.

I use Scotch double sided tape in the little plastic dispensers. I get it at SAMs Club in a six pack. I actually looked at the ATG today at J's and decided it looked clumsy. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and I am not sure how that would affect me and using one. Still thinking about it though.

I have to say I'm kind of shocked because anything other than an adhesive runner makes me wanna scream. May I ask....for those of you who don't use one - is it mainly because of the cost? It definitely can get pricey quick!! I'm just not patient enough to use something I have to pull a backing off of.

I use rolls double sided tape, mostly. I'd like an ATG, but I don't really have room for a tool that size.

I used to buy adhesive runners meant for scrapbooking, but after a couple years the adhesive dried up, the photos fell off the page, and the papers it was touching turned yellow. Not a happy camper.

I use rolls of double sided tape, glue dots and a wet glue pen for small embelishments. I used a glue stick for years before that but I made too much mess with it.... I've tried the tape runners and didn't see what all the fuss was about. Also, I don't want to have to mail order adhesive, and all the things I use are easy for me to find locally

I use double sided sticky tape and remove the backing so that I get bits of white paper all through the house

This is the only drawback for me - I seem to spend half my time picking/sweeping up tape backing!

I use a combo of things, primarily glue dots. Since I use a lot of textured cardstock, I don't find the tape runners work very well anymore (and I have a few different brands of runners and have used different types of tape...dots, little tabs, lines).

I use double sided tape. I have a number of reasons why but the first and foremost is the cost and availability, I buy mine from a department store which is open everyday and it is far cheaper than anything else like it. I have tried liquid glues and sticks and they were not for me and after all the tape runners I have tried I disliked all of them. cutting the tape is a pain as is all the little strips of white paper all over the floor but it is what works best for me.

I use a variety of adhesives depending on what I am gluing down. For paper I use my ATG (love this thing), double sided tape, glue stick, and pop dots. I also use glossy accents, glue pen, dimensional adhesive squares, hot glue and spray adhesive. I even have some E6000 for really hard to stick stuff. I love adhesive.

I do use my ATG all the time for my layouts. But I never considered using a glue gun until I watched Wilna's videos. I'm seriously considering that now.

I made the switch to a Scotch ATG 2 years ago. I love it but I think I use (waste?) a lot. I used to use photo splits, but those darn white backing pieces would end up everywhere! lol Then I switched to a dot adhesive and tape runner but I had a hard time finding refills for my Hermafix. Plus, I was going through my tape adhesive runners too fast.

I love the ATG and usually keep a few extra refills around but I'm not sure it's the most economical way to go. Even so, it takes a LONG time for me to go through a refill. And since it's pink and so big, I don't have a hard time finding it.

I've always used Herma tabs, but lately had used the herma dot runner thing.. now I'm out of that so I am using CM tabs. I've never bought an ATG though. I didn't use my dotto for years either until recently.

I use all types of adhesive mainly my ATG, glossy accents, and pop dots and occasionally my xyron, glue pens and redline tape. But my ATG gets the most use and I love it.

Depends on what I am adhering.

My ATG for paper to paper and ribbon. I my ATG.

Pop dots for dimension.

Zig 2 way glue for punch and die cut alphas and shapes.

Glue dots or a Glossy Accents type glue for buttons, wood veneers, Thickers ('cause the adhesive on those will never hold up)

My most used is my ATG.

I have been using CM photosplits for the last 14 years, I swear by them because nothing on my pages I have used them on has moved. But what sucks is they stopped making them and don't know what I will use once my stash is gone!

I actually looked at the ATG today at J's and decided it looked clumsy. I have arthritis in my hands and wrists and I am not sure how that would affect me and using one. Still thinking about it though.

I was concerned about the exact same thing. I have zero wrist and arm strength due to arthritis. I use and adore my ATG gun! Like most, I use a variety of adhesives and types, but when it comes to a tape runner, I rely on my ATG! It is not nearly as heavy OR as bulky as it seems. Give it a shot, if you don't like it or cannot use it, I will buy it from you!!

I got my ATG gun about a year ago and it was life changing. Before that I used Scotch double stick tape and do still keep a bunch of that on hand to use when I don't feel like using the gun. I couldn't stand the photo squares since I'd end up using so many and taking the little backings off would get annoying pretty fast.

When I first started scrapping I used double sided tape and sticky dots on rolls, but now I adore my tape runner. I just have a herma, and I've been lucky not to have too many issues with it, but I find it speedy and forgiving. When it runs out and I have to use tape I find I get really frustrated sitting there taking all the backing off, haha!

I can't believe how many people still do it with out a runner. Can't even imagine how long it would take to get a LO on a page using those little squares. I'm baffled.

ATG pros: cheaper, faster, super sticky, easy to find on your desk, readily available...

ATG cons:

I, for all my years scrapping, have used regular scotch tape. I LOVE the glue/dot runners but I swear they run out so fast. Maybe I scrap too much? Still I buy the glue/dot runners and do love them but since they run out so fast I use scotch tape ALL the time and no problems there.

even though I love my ATG, and use plenty of other kinds of adhesives (Fabri-Tac for ribbon, buttons, etc) there's still times when I need one of those old-school photo splits.

Photo splits are great for when I realize I need a bit more adhesive underneath a piece of paper that I already have adhered to the page. When it's curling up on an edge, or it needs a bit more adhesive underneath an edge I already have adhered, for example... I can put a photo split on the edge of my multi-purpose tool and slide it underneath the edge of the paper without having to peel the entire piece of paper back up off the page (hopefully you can visualize that, lol!). Sometimes, a photo split is the right thing for the job.

(Plus, photo splits, tape runners, ATG tape, etc. are all removeable with Un-Do... I have a tendency to want to rearrange things a bit on my pages. I only use liquid glue or glue-stick when I'm VERY certain I'm not going to need to move things.)

Mostly I use my ATG, but for small things I either use Scotch Quick Dry or a glue pen. But I use my ATG whenever I can. That stuff holds tight and I buy in bulk so it is inexpensive.
