How some gals dress up die-cuts

Photographers are violent people. First they frame you, then they shoot you, then they hang you on the wall; but if you're real good, they will scrapbook you!

I like to ink the edges of the die cuts, all of the layers if possible. I also like to give them texture by using an embossing folder and running it through a Cuttlebug or Big Shot. It looks great if you ink it after that. I also use brads for small circles on die cuts, like for eyes. Stickles also adds a bit of glitter to areas you might want to accent. Hope this helps.

I never thought to use the texture embossing! I love that idea. I also struggle with them looking boring. Inking helps.
I have noticed designers use pattern paper too. I think that bit of pattern helps to dress them up.
I like to add a dark brown, grey, or black layer underneath titles. makes them really pop.

I use stickles and bling on mine.
