I haven't run in three days. I don't have any desire to run. THIS is where I always seem to fall off the wagon. Going to finish tidying up around the house, and then head out. Hoping I'm feeling the love for the run come back. Must be pms. Blah.

Ick, Kayak I know the feeling all too well. I hope you find your mojo, listening to Florence + The Machine's Dog Days Are Over sometimes works.

I took several (cough. five!) days off due to a sinus infection and the snowpocalypse but am looking forward to swimming this evening and a good run tomorrow.

Kayak, I have days like this too. I don't think I've been running long enough for it to become a habit iykwim.

I did 3.25 today. My legs felt like lead afterwards. I did 6 on Saturday, my longest distance to date. I saw a glimpse that maybe I can run 15k without dying

Kayak, I think it's a typicaal cycle. So hard to deal with though! If you just get out there and run does the feeling go away? I know for me it helps. I also like to look at the moticational quotes I have on my PINTEREST WORKOUT board and it helps to inspire me.

Have you seen Spirit of the Marathon? It's streaming on Netflix. It's so inspiring... maybe it'll kick you into gear!

Did my first post marathon run yesterday. A short 3 miles. Felt soooooo good!

I'm trying to run at least a mile a day this month. I feel like I'm cheating on the days that I only run a mile, but I know that I can't go full out for 28 days without letting my body recover a little. Day 11 and I'm still going.

I lost my mojo before Christmas. I;ve been suffering with a sinus infection that won't clear. So I'm on 30 days of meds and I just need to keep going so I can break through this plateau of not losing weight.

I did a 20 mile long run on Saturday, and am now in pre-marathon taper! 3 easy miles on the treadmill this afternoon.

I haven't been cleared for walking yet. Had a set back with my back and have had to really scale back the exercise. I did do my PT and strength training this morning and a 30 minute ride on the recumbent bike that came to 4.75 miles. I am bound and determined not to let this spinal cyst get me down

3 miles today for me! I wasn't really in the mood to run, since it was cold and overcast, but I did. It was an okay run and just felt glad when it was over lol

I got 3 miles in yesterday. It was raining today, though, so I walked on the treadmill while watching Scandal on Hulu. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed that.

3 miles with dh during a gorgeous sunset. It felt a LOT better than Saturdays long run. Saturday sucked.

Yesterday I finished the St. Pete Rock n' Roll Half Marathon, my first half since 2004.

I didn't quite finish in the time I wanted, but I did PR by 7 minutes, so overall I'm pleased. I might be 9 years older, but I'm also 30 pounds lighter and WAY happier with where I'm at in running (and life in general).

Have one IT band acting up, and then my foot on the other side has some swelling I need to figure out.

Other than that I feel pretty good. It was the first ever half for my friend that I trained with, she did an amazing job!

The best part of the race: friend was waiting for me right at the finish line. The volunteer with the medals handed off my medal to her and she was the one to put it around my neck. We both boo-hooed.

I'll be doing some mobility at CrossFit tomorrow, then maybe a short run on Thursday to work out some of the kinks and get a better handle on my IT band/foot pain. The IT band was a bit of a surprise. My CF coaches won't let me near a WOD until Friday.

The first words my marathon-running dad said to me? "So, when's your next race?"

Got my 3.1miles done yesterday. Felt good to get it done, and I've got my mojo back. I think I just shouldn't take more than 2 days off in a row. I find it too hard to get back into it if I do. Weird. Thanks for the encouragement.

peaname - that song is one of my power songs.

Sarah - congrats on 6! I'm working up to that for the Nike Women's Marathon virtual 10K in March. Hitting a new distance feels so good.

Shevy - that's a great goal.

lilbug - totally going to check out your board.

jjulie - I only dream of ever hitting 20 miles. That's an amazing achievement! Well done!

janeliz - I love watching tv while on the treadmill.

scrapbooker - I hope you're all recovered soon.

candygurl- good work on getting out even when the weather is blah.

casii- sounds like a nice run. Wish my hubby ran.

littlefish - that is a GREAT amount to PB!! Congrats!

Kayak, I'm glad you have your mojo back

Littlefish, congrats on your huge PB I have a marathon running Dad too, only difference to yours, I expect, is that he's only run one, and it was about 25 years ago I may look into a half for 2014, what kind of temperature was it for your run? I am in Florida too, and I am finding the humidity changes hard work just now.

Hey Ladies,

Haven't run since Saturday. Have a sinus infection that I finally went to the doctor for. He gave me some good meds so hopefully I'll be good to go by marathon day--a mere 11 days from now )

Not going to run again until this Saturday so that I really give my body the time to heal.

I don't wish to hi-jack the thread but I've come to rely upon checking in and getting/giving support in this spot regularly. I'm in the process of a workup for breast cancer. Doc is sending me for an MRI of the breast and anticipating a biopsy will still be necessary. If anyone is inclined to, please say a prayer for me. I would so much appreciate it.

Glad to hear you got your 1st 3 mile run in since your marathon Katie.

And for those of you who lose/regain your running mojo periodically, I hope you'll know that is normal. There are so many days that I simply have to lace up and walk out the door whether I feel like it or not. I never regret it once I'm out there, even if the run turns out to be a tough one--at least I did the best I could.

Hang tough ladies and keep up the awesome work. Everyone's stories of day to day workouts are so inspiring. Take care and have a good day!

Maps- I'll keep you in my thoughts.

I ran 3.2 yesterday, a PR for a course I run regularly. I had a tough day at work, so it was good to turn that negative energy into something positive.

My dad runs marathons as a hobby. He's at 319, I think? 320? He's run a marathon in all 50 states plus DC 5 times. He's about halfway done with round 6. He started running in his mid-30s and is 67 years old. He's a total bada$$.

Race day temperature was ok. 60s at the start, got up into the mid/upper 70s by the finish, but there was a nice breeze off the water that really helped. Honestly, 10 degrees cooler would've been awesome but it wasn't too bad. I agree, the humidity changes are terrible to deal with! But on those perfect days....makes it all worth it!

Maps, you are in my thoughts. I hope the tests come back clear. I hope you are feeling better soon, ready for your race

Littlefish, your Dad does sound Bada$$ Wow 320 marathons, that is a huge achievement. Thanks for the weather report, I am really struggling with the humidity, but like you say, when you get that perfect day, it feels great!!

I did 3.5 today. Was only going to do 3, but got lost in the neighbourhood I was trying to find a cut through alley between 2 neighbourhoods, but it wasn't where I thought it was... I got home just as the wind started to pick up, and then I got a weather advisory on my phone saying our area is under tornado watch. I'm glad I got up and out earlier than usual

Maps, consider yourself prayed for from me and keep us updated!

I did an awesome 8 miles on Sunday and then my mojo went away too. I printed off a training schedule for my next half last night hoping to inspire but maybe I'll head over to Pinterest instead. I'm forcing myself out the door now and I'm sure it'll be all better in about a mile!

320 marathons??????????? Wow! I can't imagine. The one I'm doing in 10 days will be my 4th and I'm 45 years old. I'll count myself lucky to do one a year for as long as I can. He is a bad a$$.

Yes jjjulee, welcome to taper town. It's a good place to be. The free time can sometimes be maddening but I've come to enjoy being able to catch up on somethings that I let go by the wayside during all the intensive marathon training.

And littlefish, that's terrific that you shaved so much time off your previous best. Sometimes even a PR isn't as good though as being at a better place in your life overall which it sounds like you are right now. That's the best!

For those of you who have prayed for me, thanks soooo much. Have an appt with breast surgeon Monday and MRI of breast Wednesday. We'll go from their. My marathon is the following Sunday, the 24th. I'm going no matter what. If the MRI confirms cancer, I will run and probably cry on and off throughout the race--it may be the race of my life. If the MRI seems to rule out cancer, I'll still be waiting on biopsy results but hopefully will be in a good enough place that the stress of worry won't impair my "performance" too much--again, it may be the race of my life. Each will be different. Whatever will be will be. I'll be fine. I believe in God and know that He's got my back no matter what.

My sinus infection is clearing up nicely. In fact, I may run my scheduled tempo run tomorrow instead of waiting 'til Saturday to run.

Thank you all for reading/listening.

Keep on runnin' ladies! No matter what you're doing, you're lapping everyone who's on their couches!

Thanks maps. Praying for you and your test results.

My original plan was to take a post-race test run (my foot still hurts) today during dance class. Rainy weather and a sick kiddo have totally derailed any and all workout plans the majority of the week.

I should be able to go to CrossFit tomorrow, and then will try a run Sunday.

Guys, guess what! I completed my first 8 mile run! Last week, I did 6 so a bit more this week. I am so proud of myself and even though it took me 1 hr and 20 min I did it I did have to stop at stoplights but stopped my watch when doing so.

Hope everyone can go out and run today!

Off to stretch and eat:

Maps - sending good thoughts and prayers your way.k

26.two pea - I love what your hubby did with your stamps!

I had a pulled hamstring and took a self imposed 4 weeks off to let it heal. I took my first run Thursday of 2 miles and everything feels great. I ran another 2 this morning. I'm going to run 2 for the next week before starting to increase again. I want to get back to more mileage but don't want to risk an injury again!!!

Well, was supposed to have started my half training this week, but my DS (8) had his tonsils out this week and I was home with him. Figured I'd still be ok to run on the treadmill, but he didn't sleep it off like a normal person (aka me when I had mine out in October lol) and needed a lot of monitoring, so no runs for me this week - ack!

Hoping I haven't lost my own mojo and looking forward to actually getting back into the groove and starting next week!

Mapsworker - praying for you and big hugs!!! I remember how freaky it was for my little sis when we were dealing with it with her (lymphoma).

Maps, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

I'm running a half tomorrow. A bunch of friends are also running it and I plan to just have fun and not care what my time is, unless I feel really great. Then I will push it. I have Ragnar on Friday and I'm very excited for that.

My dh bought me a race entry for Valentine's Day instead of flowers. A girls weekend in San Diego to run a race in June & get out of the Az heat is 1000 times better than roses.

ETA: Ack I just saw your post Beth with your beautiful roses and now my comment seems totally bitchy. Your dh is super sweet. My dh used to always give me flowers and I would wish he had spent the money on something else so I was so excited that this year he finally got it and gave me exactly what I would have asked for. He isn't a runner so it's nice I finally have him brain washed that running related gifts are always best.

mmksquared--your honey really knows how to pull out all the stops. What a sweetheart. Good luck at your half. Let us know how it goes.

Candygurl--congrats on the 8 miler. It's always such a mental boost when you can go a couple of miles further than before. In a couple of weeks, if you'll back it off for a little bit, you could jump to 9 or 10. Yes, really.

Beth, the roses were beautiful and I love that y'all had a swim date for V day.

Purpleninja--I hope your son is feeling better. While we're busy making plans, life happens. HOpefully, you'll be able to get back on track this week. Your legs will probably have benefitted from the rest days. As I've run/worked out longer, I've come to discover the value of a few extended days of rest that allow my body to heal so that I can build and become even stronger.

So, who all is running Princess? Is it the 24th also?

Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts this week.

Tomorrow I go for the biopsy. Appointment is at 8:30 a.m. I'd been feeling very at peace the past few days but today I woke up worried. I figure that's normal.

My parents and I are having lunch today after church. And I have some "marathon" packing to begin. I always enjoy piling all my stuff up on the bed in my spare bedroom the week before a big race

Take care everyone! And if you raced this weekend, please give us an update on how it went for you. Happy running, walking, swimming, cycling, ellipticalling, etc......

I had my indoor tri this morning. I swam 925 yards, biked 11.4 mi and ran 2.03 miles. They called time when my TM was only at 19:30 so I feel slightly cheated but I hit my goal of greater than 2 miles. It was fun but I'm exhausted and I only hit the sprint distance for the swim and it was a pool not open water, lol.

Good luck, MMK
Thinking of you, Maps
and excited for WiiPii and 26.TWO is anyone else running princess? I have a half next Sunday and it's been two weeks since I've run double digits. I kind of wanted to run 8 more today but I do not have it in me.

littlefish-your dad sounds so cool. My dad was a runner but he died before I got off my bum so we didn't get to run together. I know in my heart that he's right beside me when I race and I often start crying as I go along. I wonder what people think when they see that?

I am running the Princess 5K. Someday, I would love to work up to the half. I have been repeating Week 5, Day 3 of C25K and finally felt good about it today. I haven't run a real 5K since college so I think I will try to do this one using the Galloway Run/walk method. I am really excited about it.

I'm running my first marathon while wearing my baby. I know some women enjoy the time to focus on themselves while running without children, but for us, we feel that they are only small for such a short time and there is nothing more rewarding than bfing one's baby while hitting a sub eight minute mile.
