I'm curious how everyone organizes their digital files...

I'm on a pc and use a folder system in windows (which means the thumbnail of the preview shows up on the folder). I have a list of categories (for example each of the holidays, fasteners, flowers etc.) and also a folder for full kits. I don't want to spend a lot of time organizing since I would rather scrap I know people who tag and they are much better at combining things from different kits.

I have my little little system on my Mac. I have a big folder than contains all of my scrapbooking files. Once inside that folder I have everything organized by store that the item came from. I find this a little easier from CT stuff. I also have a folder for my completed LO's and for my own templates that I've created. Within the store folders I have them all organized by kit or item. In kit folders I have the preview and TOU, and then it is organized by alpha, papers, elements and additional folders as needed. Non kit items are organized into files for PSDs, PNGs, ABRs.
While I'm scrapping I use ACDSee to find, preview and open items into PSE.

I might need a 2nd (or 3rd?) monitor if I tried your system.

I have a folder system by store>designer>kit type. I tag on my PC in the PSE Organizer in a very complete tagging system for any non CT stuff. Then, I tag all of my CT stuff on my Mac in ACDSee, using previews only. It's pretty hilarious running simultaneous searches on both computers! I don't know how anyone finds things without tagging, but I have also been accused of enjoying indexing more than scrapping (not true!).

Haha mikilana! I'm not sure how else to do it! I used to tag things in ACDSee but I can't seem to find a system that works for me.

I'm on a Mac so I created a 2nd iPhoto library that is just for my supplies. I use the "keywords" function to tag information about each item so I can search. But I love being able to browse with life size previews instead of thumbnails in a folder (which is how I started).

Another PC gal here. I have a rather extensive list of folders - sorted by designer, mostly. I also have a few category folders that are pretty basic (solid cardstock, patterned papers, overlays, alphas, ribbons, stuff like that).

I keep thinking I'm going to break down and spend the time and effort to organize in something like ACDSee, but I'd rather make pages than do that, so for now I use it like it is.

I'm on a PC and have been using ACDSee to organize my digi files. It did take a while to tag everything (much easier if your start early in your digi scrapping) but keeping up with it is not a problem.
