and we rarely west!

We will be in Bellevue.

The lumber store is the store that we really need to get to.

I am looking for that out of way lumber store that only the locals know about. not the big chain ones.

I think the "good" Goodwill is the one on south Lake Union. I have a friend who is a tv personality there and she thrifts A LOT. Most of her onair clothes are thrifted. The Lake Union Goodwill seems to come up a lot with her.

The Good Goodwill is the one that seems like it gets higher end donations. My friend got a brand new Fossil purse there, for $5.

Thanks for the IKEA address, that is the I googled, just double checking..

There is a Dunn Lumber at 140th in Bellevue. If you could give me more info on type of wood, my hubby gets a lot of exotics from somewhere nearby and I could ask him. But google SEattle for wood as they have quite a few lumber yards. You can always call WoodCraft in Seattle for suggestions.

Someone already helped with IKEA...

Haven't been there in years, but the "good" goodwill store used to be the one on Rainier Avenue and Genessee(?) It's the granddaddy of the stores in Seattle, but not in a terrific area.

McClendon's Hardware are nice, old-fashioned, locally owned stores. For really nice unfinished wood, try Architectural Wood in Tacoma.

Hope that helps.

Rockler woodworking

It's a specialty store, but has an online presence and sells a lot there. We're local, and we get specialty wood from them online because it's more convenient and cheaper sometimes. But if you want to browse the store, it's a fun place.

There's a McLendon's Hardware in Renton, if you're going to be go to the Ikea there anyway.

I'm not sure which Goodwill is "the good one" either. I guess it depends on who you ask. Personally, I think the Goodwill outlet is the "good" one because you pay by the pound!

Another vote could be for the Dearborn store that hosts the Glitter Sale every year. They're huge:

Let us know if you find out which one is the good one though. Love me some Goodwill.

I will ask my dh about lumber for you (marking my place here for now). I know there are two in Seattle that he visits, I think near Safeco Field.

I am going to have to text my friend to find the good goodwill.

I should ask if there are any good sales anywhere that I need to check out.

Ugh! I'm here for a conference and I want to know why there's a possibility of rain every day!!

That said, the scenery is stunning. I can't get over how lush everything is. How incredibly BLUE the water is, and I grew up on a beach!

Not on my short list of places I'd return for leisure, but my word, what a perfect place to take in natures beauty! (when it's not raining... )

Crosscut Hardwoods - He said this place has some unusual wood.

Compton Lumber - this place is across the street, but he's never been there.
