No, you are not. Sometimes I think I am the only person at SC that has not been thrilled with the PL kit so far. The thickness of the cards are nice but the designs don't thrill me. Nor does being told that the reason the 4x6 cards are 1/8 short is an acceptable variance. Anything else I buy always is true to size 6x6 paper pads are 6x6 4x6 pebbles, simple story, archivers cards are 4x6. Oh well maybe they will get it all sorted but in the mean time why do I have to deal with poor quality product?

I'm disappointed that I ordered on the 28th and still don't have a package. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed with the kit. Not sure why they don't ship when orders are placed....

no you are not i also feel the SC kit is NOT all that, for me the cards look all the same and same as january i see no variety on them. i get citrus twist PL and you get SO MUCH more for less money, not even the stamps have been exciting for me i will do my time and if i see no improvement i will cancel my sub and just stick to CT... i haven't use january kit because is not appealing to me and feb is in the same boat.

Mine is due to arrive on Thursday so I won't really know until I get it. I think the stamps look good from the website but the cards look kind of boring. I'll know when I get it.
FYI - shipping - their website days monthly kits are shipped by the 10th, which they did ship all kits by the 10th. Most monthly kits ship anywhere from the 1st-15th depending on the kit club.

Sc takes everyones orders at once and starts pulling it for shipment on the !st of each month.
Then there is a shipping order long time subscriber's kits and extras they order are packaged and sent out first then down through the line. I am a new PL subscriber my last name starts with a W so I am probably last to go out the door. USPS delivers the PLkit if that is only kit or stuff you get and it takes them many days to get to you after it leaves SC. this may be a simplified explanation but it is how I understand it. Plus they had lots of new product this month so everyone bought lots of stuff that had to packaged up with their kits.

Oh no, I love my kit. I think it's pretty in line with SC's style which I like. I didn't think the cards looked like January's, with the exception of one card, but I like the chalkboard style so I was happy to get another with different wording.
I'm not a fan of CT kits. Most of the items they pick are ones I never would because they're just not my style.
I guess it's good there are different options out there, since we all have such different styles. Works out for everyone .

Their website does not specify that non-subbers aren't shipped until after the subbers go out. That I found out only on the message boards. Their website says domestic kits ship in 2-3 business days. I would have expected that meant from the day I ordered - since I don't have an open window where I can order god knows how much stuff. They should be more clear on their actual website, that is my disappointment.

I have never been disappointed by studio calico products or service (although I did get my box a little later than usual this month), so I can't agree. But luckily there are many kits out there for people with different taste.

This was my very first month as a subscriber AND using their product and I do have to admit, though it all looks pretty together, I felt there was barely anything there.
I used to sub to club scrap waaay once upon a time and even though it wasn't really my style, I will say that for 36 bucks a month they loaded you UP. Sometimes we'd even get full sized adhesive products and stamp sets and rolls of ribbon...I realize the economy being the way it is has something to do with the amount of product but this just seemed kinda on the lean side. Just my opinion though.
Ill wait for a couple more months and see if I'm any happier with what I'm getting.

I've seen a few videos with the SC PL stuff and I'm not impressed. If I get a chance to subscribe to a kit it will be Citrus Twist. You get a full 6x6 pad in that kit.

This is my first month and I get the main not PL but I really like it! I haven't ever subbed to any other kit but I thought the amount of stuff is what I expected. The mustache smash clips aren't my style but I plan to adhere something over the cut out. Otherwise I am thrilled! LOVE the exclusive color of the Snilppets paper and the washi.
I am not planning to sub to the PL kit because it just isn't how I do PL, but I am considering the card kit for the 6x6 pad. CT doesn't feel like it is my style but to each their own.

Yes, it was awful this month...which is one of the reasons I am cancelling my subscription. There was NOTHING to to it! Usually we get two alpha sets and we didn't this time either. The stamp is extremely disappointing. Not impressed one bit.
On the other hand, the Scrapbook Circle that I received yesterday.. oh my goodness!! Amazing and PACKED with goodies.. so worth it!

I continue to like the main kit but so far I have not been really impressed with the PL kit. In fact I am thinking of selling it this month.
I will continue with the first 6 months but if it doesn't improve I will probably end up cancelling it and changing to CT, they seem to give you much more for your money.

I wasn't disappointed. I love the stamp and the washi roll. There was an alphabet and a package of arrows/geotags wood veneers. Some other embellishments and patterned paper and cardstock. I don't buy the add-ons.
I also get Cocoa Daisy. Their kits are awesome!

I was so excited to receive my first SC kit today. I do really like the papers and the extras that came with. I knew what I was getting in the kit but I do feel it was a little "light" on supplies when I actually opened it. Looking forward to making some pages though because as I said, I really like the papers and the colors are pretty IRL. There was only 1 alphabet set so I'll probably look for another to add to the kit. I didn't subscribe but I would consider another kit from SC in the future.

Wow didnt expect so many replies... I'm a new subscriber, this is my second main kit and first pl kit. And I just felt there was nothing in them. The main kit was very bare and not at all impressed with the stamp. The pl kit was ok, not over the top thrilled but just okay. More so disappointed in the main.

I've been subscribing to SC since 2008. Although there have been kits that I have liked better than others, I have never been disappointed in what I've received. I've tried other kit clubs that have caught my eye over the years, but have consistently been most happy, with the exception of a really girly phase at one point, with their kits. SC, although not the most blingy and colorful, has a clean, consistent, classic style that ties in trends, but is usable. I've found that SC kits are by far the most usable for me and my scrappy style. The only thing I miss is the retro goodies they used to include in kits.
I am not trying to handslap or be rude, so please know that as I try to explain what does disappoint me about SC in this past year. I really feel that SC becoming the "it" kit club recently, may be a bit of a hidden curse for them. I have NEVER heard or seen negative SC posts in past years, but this year as popularity grew and new people jumped on the bandwagon, I see more negative than positive posted here (crazy amounts some days) and sometimes on their message board. In my eyes, SC has been consistent and predicable in the quantity on Main Kit embellishments over the years, between 8-11, depending on the month. They typically give full packages, instead of split embellishments. They listen to constructive contributions on the message boards and when I've used their costumer service email, I've received nothing but top notch, timely responses. I took the risk of the PL kit because I know what to expect from SC. It was my choice and it turned out in my favor. If not, I had th choice to suck it up for 6 months or pay to cancel.
I don't know if it is because the more people you have the more difficult it is to please, but they can't seem to win lately. No matter what, there are complaints. They have tons of past kits for perspective subscribers to view, everything is outlined perfectly in their FAQ, their customer service reps answer questions for potential subscribers, and message board peeps are always willing to answer questions. Yet there are complaints: about late shipping when its always early in accordance with their TOU, about being charged for canceling a sub you preordered (you didn't have to subscribe sight-unseen), about how fast clearance items sell and quantity, about how fast kits sell out (quantities increased), about how much the kits sell for on the secondary market, etc. I just get the feeling that some people jumped in because of buzz before really considering if SC is the right kit club for them, understanding how a kit club differs from an online store, deciding if the kits really fit their style, or really researching the terms and what else is available out there.
This post isn't in response to the OP and you refers to the general you. I know SC isn't perfect. No small business is, but I see the business as responsive and willing to listen, evolve, and act in generally good faith. I hope as the popularity plateaus a bit (it usually does), things will begin to be a bit more peaceful again.

Sorry OP that you didn't like it. Unfortunately that's the risk of subbing to a kit club.
I still like my kits, some months are harder to use than others, but I always use it.
There are also many clubs that you get tons of stuff. For me, the SC kits are the right amount to complete 4-6 layouts (usually single pages) and then it's done - no adding paper to the stash I know there are many kit clubs out there, so I hope that everyone finds something they

I don't want anyone to think that I dislike SC, I love them! I did research a lot of kits before subbing and have, for the most part, liked what I've seen of there kits. I'm not going to stop subbing just because of 1 that I wasn't crazy about. They cant please everyone's tastes and scrappy style every month and this just wasn't my month. That's all. No hard feelings, I love the company. It was just one of those 'aw man' kind of moments when I looked thru my stuff.

Wow. Ok. That certainly was a hand slap, but whatever makes you happy. As I said it is NOT in their FAQs but hey slap all you want.
I finally got my kit tonight. I will agree the main seems thinner than it seemed online. I don't think I could 4-5 layouts from this kit alone. I don't mind pulling from the stash though, but as a standalone the lack of alphas is for sure a problem. I like the colors and everything really is just as it was advertised. I was thinking of signing up but not sure I want to wait this long every month. I always crop on the second weekend of the month so these will now sit for a month, which I'm hoping I don't forget I have them.
I've never done a kit before though so this was a good first go. I will probably order a couple to see what I like first. None of the kits seem to be so awesome that I can't buy most of what I like myself. I really like the idea of SC's stamps which is why I started with them

Not true for me this time I just checked mine last night and it still says "waiting to ship." I'm really wondering if this is because I pulled my name from the PL wait list and cancelled my sub when they threatened to charge me $15 for getting off a WAIT LIST. They have already charged me for my kit and my add-on. I don't know what's going on over at SC but they aren't the company they used to be.

Cade, I was truly venting in general, no handslapping. I have seen several subscribers in the past few months complain about shipping being only 5 days earlier than stated in the FAQs, instead of the 7 days early like in some previous months. However, as a nonsubber, you have a great point about their shipping. You're correct, it should be stated somewhere since kits clubs don't work quite like stores. You should definitely contact customer service and make that suggestion.

I do agree this month's kit looks thinner than other months. I don't get the problems with the PL it's though, last month the corners were terribly cut, this month the cards are too small and they are saying that the variance is acceptable and standard practice? I wish they could get things figured out. Quality control is a big issue so far.

I love their kits, i LOVE the Feb PL kit and just keep going back to look at it.
Some months are flatter than others but thats ok it just means the products in it are more expensive sometimes.
Also it states that there will always be atleast 1 alpha so when there is only one i am guessing again something else instead
I have been a subber for 2 years and have always been happy with the service and kits, though some months i love them more than others. I love them i guess because the kits suit my style
To the OP i am sorry this one did not suit you, there is always next month and that is the joy of a kit club.

I would tend to agree with Caz. There are items in the February kit that definitely make it worth the money, at least IMO. The wood veneer card is amazingly cool and unique, and the little "extras" like the wood veneer brackets and the flair buttons are fun additions. Add to that the fact that the cards are beautifully designed and made of a wonderful thick card stock, and I think the value is there. There will always be people who don't like a certain kit...we all have different styles. This is my first sub with SC, and so far I've been very happy with the kits. I hit the button to get on the waitlist the minute I saw the email announcing the PL kits, so I got the January one as my first ever SC kit. And because I'm always about two weeks behind, I don't have a problem with getting my kit a few weeks into the month. LOL!

I think bsnyder made a lot of great points about consumers not always making the best choices to fit their scraping needs. I have to agree that sc kits have sort of exploded over the last year...they've simply become very popular and it seems like there's a constant rat race amongst consumers to see who got a kit before they sell out.

First of all, I would try to be more specific in your title. Then, in your disappointment, I am assuming you are talking about the main SC scrapbook kit since you do not specify PL kit or Card kit, so I will answer about the main scrapbook kit. I for a fact kind of like the main kit soft colors this month. The only thing I am not thrilled about is the stamp. Of course, there will be some fav kits and some not so fav, but overall I am pretty satisfied with my sub so far.
