I've been tracking my food with this nifty little tool -- apparently (and I've been trying to be really honest) I've been consuming 1300-1500 a day (including my evening glass of wine).

I also apparently get more than enough vegetables (though I've been making an effort here too)...but not enough dairy or fruit. I would rather eat vegetables than fruit....what about you?

Somewhere between 1,400 and 1,800 a day (I'm tall and apparently those are my needs, if that makes sense). I use Lose It!

I consume roughly 1300 a day. I'm using MyFitnessPal and it suggests I have 1330 per day to lose weight.

I aim for around 1200/day.

If you do the calculations for my size, I should eat less to lose weight. When I am consistent, I lose close to 0.5 lbs a week and that includes 4-6 hrs of cardio each week.

When I am being good I aim for 1200 calories per day. That's only 300 calories per meal plus another 300 calories for snacks. It's tough! I was doing that before Christmas and I was able to lose close to 1kg per week - without exercise (that's about 2.2 pounds). DSO tries to stick to 1800 calories per day, obviously being a man he can afford to have more than me and still lose weight.

ETA: I know that I do NOT eat nearly enough vegetables!!

It's interesting that supposedly I need 2000 calories per day (I'm fairly active, though not very active) and yet if I am really only getting about 1500 I'm not losing any weight....

Around 2500 on non training days, when I am training I am doing about 3,000 a day. But that is about 2.5 hour a day in the gym.

So OP, are you not LOVING that tracker I posted?

It's been so illuminating if nothing else, for seeing where my trouble spots are...for me, it's the empty calories. I am switching to 1% milk, and going to a less-tasty coffee creamer. Those two items kill me on empty calories!

I'm on the 1600 calorie a day regimen. I have not gone over but once, since the charts are so easy to read. I LOVE the site. I'm glad my professor introduced it to our class; it's been really great. I'm down five pounds in three weeks; which I know is the right way to lose weight: slowly and effectively. (Just gotta stay on the regimen even after my class is over, lol.)

I've been able to lose .5 lb per week on 2,000 cal. I do a lot of cardio like Melissa.

I get between 1500-1600 a day. I'm a little frustrated with the bar graph on the reporting page. I eat things like greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and beans for protein. But it puts the yogurt and cottage cheese, which each have a good amount of protein, in just the dairy category. So it says that I'm at 12% for protein, so way deficient. When I pull up the separate nutrient report, it says my goal is 46g of protein, but that I actually ate 77g, so why is the bar graph saying I'm so much under my goal? I should be at 150% of the goal, not 12%.

I gain on 1200 calories and lose under 900 or so, and I'm usually somewhere in between. I eat way more veggies than fruit. Unfortunately, I'm small boned and old with a slow metabolism. I dread fetting even older - my poor mothers gains on 900 calories!

I aim for 1400 calories a day and am tracking using MyFitnessPal. I was doing 1200 calories, but found that while I was losing weight faster I was grumpy. The extra 200 calories makes all the difference in the world to me.

I typically eat around 1300 but on days I exercise I eat around 1700. I eat some, not all my exercise calories back. I usually burn between 300-600 calories exercising so I need to eat some of those back

Also, just this week I had enough with counting calories and am just trying to eat clean and not worry so much. So far, so good!

I use My Fitness Pal. I stay around 1200 a day and exercise about 500 calories which I don't usually eat back. I'm down 34 pounds since the beginning of August.

I use myfitnesspal and because I burn 600-800 calories a day in exercise I typically eat 1800 a day or more.

Kelpie - yes I am having fun with it! I'm using it for this class - they had an assignment with it -- it is an open class that anyone can take, I'm loving it -- through ucsf -- you all should listen to some of the lectures

I really have no idea how many calories I'm eating. I use Weight Watchers to track...but before that I was at about 1400. I tried 1200 and that would just leave me feeling starved all the time. So I bumped it up a little bit and would anywhere between 1200 and 1350 usually.

The only steadfast rule I try to stick to is no eating after 7pm.

PS -- Annabella, what are you doing to burn 800 calories in one workout.

I can sometimes burn a little over 600 in one workout, but I've never hit anything over that unless it's a rare day where I do a full workout and then a bootcamp or spin class or something immediately following. Unfortunately, those days don't happen that often.

Since Jan 1, I've been eating between 1300 and 1400 calories per day. I'm losing weight on it and it's been enough for me. I track o Myfitnesspal

I use myfitnesspal, too. My goal right now is 1500 but I'm not losing so will probably drop it down a bit. I don't want to go too low since I am still breast feeding but it I am losing motivation due to not seeing progress. The last week and a half has not been good.

Yeah i am more of a veggies eater than fruit eater.
The only way i will eat fruit is i buy the no sugar added fruit cups. There only about 50 calories a cup.

A lot!
I use My Fitness Pal most of the time. Typically, I eat about 2000 calories a day and maintain. If I want to lose, I drop to 1800. But I burn an average of about 1800 calories 5 days a week teaching group fitness classes, so I need fuel.

Annabella, what are you doing to burn 800 calories in one workout.

I walk to work everyday and go out and walk 1 hour on my lunch break. That burns 320 calories, I wore a hrm once. I walk at 2.5 miles per hour I would guess, so a leisurely pace. Then I have my real workout at the gym afterwards and if I lift weights that's another 124 calories in my 20 min routine. Then there's the days where I do an exercise video in the morning and yoga after work.
