I heard on pp roundtable that you are going to print pictures @ home & I just saw your starting point on your blog. Please, please, please tell me you are not going to start using non 4x6 photos? With the trend of one teeny, tiny picture on a 12x12 page, you are my only 4x6 photo love source. Please say you're not leaving me behind  | |

Are you talking about the Christmas episode of PRT? Because the only thing I can think of that involved printing at home was my Christmas Journal. (In the end I wasn't really happy with that process anyway - I like the feel of proper photos much better.)
I ordered more than four hundred 4x6 prints yesterday.
I think we're all good.

The Feel.....ahhhhhhhhhhhh, me too. That is why I stopped printing at home as well. (But I do, do different sizes, not one small to a page however, but sometimes to fit more photos on a page I need smaller sizes, but then again sometimes I go bigger too.)

WOW! That is a lot of layouts!
They won't all become layouts.
I order 300 - 500 4x6 prints per month, a mix of all my most recent images and then some older images from the 'archives' of before I starting printing them that way (so that includes some photos that are say five years old but also things that family and friends have scanned and shared, so sometimes they are from thirty+ years ago). I have a set of drawers that holds them all and I keep them relatively organised there. Then I can scrapbook whatever and whenever I want without going to the computer. The computer zaps my crafting ability, so staying away is key.
I have pretty strict rules with myself that each space that is allocated to something cannot overflow that space. For photos, that means I have to keep scrapping a lot (which I do!) and also I go through and remove photos from there to go to other things than pages - I send them to other people who were there, I hang them on the wall, and sometimes I just decide I printed too many from that event and I can now cull the excess to the recycling. I also tend to add about two divided page protectors per album with just additional photos and no embellishment, so that's twenty-four pictures all told.
But as I am always aware, what is normal for me is not normal for many! Ha!
