I'm lost, have no clue what to get my guy. Women are so easy to buy for, chocolates, flowers, jewelry ... but what to get a man for Valentine's day? What are you getting your guy this year? what have you gotten him in the past?

we aren't really doing anything for each other this year.

We got a new dining room table/chairs last night so theres our budget plus some!

I've done chocolate covered strawberries, a book, altered picture frame with picture in it, gc for him to go out to lunch and hes been ok with all of those.

We don't do big Valentines Day when we do it.

We don't really "do" Valentine's Day, but I did get a little box of candy to put in DH's lunchbox, and I am dipping some strawberries in chocolate tonight for him. (ok for US!)

My virtue has been restored! =)

Make a man bouquet. I did it on my husband's birthday. I put jerky, his favorite candy, a ball cap, golf balls, tees and some other boy things. There is lots of inspiration on pinterest.

We are going to lunch today and I'm going to dip some chips in chocolate tomorrow. He is one of those who says after he eats chips 'now that I've had salty, I need a little sweet.' Thought I'd combine the two!

The only thing DH needs is more hours in the day, so I'm giving him permission to stay at work as late as he needs to. Valentines isn't a big gift giving occasion for us. I will probably make him a card.

My DH regularly stays at work as long as he wants/needs to without my permission. Maybe I should call that his Valentine's Day gift and be done with it . . .

I haven't gotten anything yet. DH buys whatever he wants whenever he wants it, so he's really hard to buy for. He won't be home for dinner (that work thing again), doesn't eat chocolate and we're leaving town early Friday morning so his favorite dessert would go to waste if I made it. I think I'm going to go searching for a nice bottle of wine and maybe a shotglass with hearts on it or something (he has a shotglass collection). If I'd planned in advance I could have made him something, but holidays (expecially Hallmark holidays) sneak up on me.

I like the idea of the man bouquet. My she just had a birthday on the 5th. My SIL made him a fruit bouquet, he really liked it. (Me too) she cut the pineapple slices with a cookie cutter into heart shapes, made melon balls, etc
I just got she a pair of boots he had been wanting and he bought himself a Bass guitar the same day...so really he's covered. We are going out to dinner after work, but I think I'll make him a giant cookie or his favorite cake.

I just bought DH a card, a box of candy and he'll get his intimate time (that's all he really wants anyway). We are lucky Valentine's lands on a weekday this year so while the kids are at school we are going to Syracuse mall (newly expanded) and get lunch.

We're pretty big on celebrating holidays around our house. My dh and I both love to give and receive gifts.

I ordered my dh some Guy Fieri steak knives for Valentine's Day. I bought him four of the steak knives for Christmas and I thought I'd round out the set for Valentine's Day.

He gives up sweets for Lent, so I gave him a chocolate fish last night. He likes to fish, and when I saw the chocolate fish in the package that said "You're a Keeper" I knew I had to get it for him.

I'm having a cookie bouquet sent to my husband at work on Thursday. I've always wanted to send him something but the previous places he has worked were big companies that have multiple buildings and a security gate at the entrance which would make it difficult to get a delivery to him, so I never did it. Now he works at a small company that is in one building so it should be much easier to get a delivery to him. I think he'll be pretty surprised.

We are also planning on getting a quick bite to eat (to avoid a long wait at a restaurant)and going to a movie.

We have a $20 limit on Valentine's Day, and tend to make it just cutesy stuff. The kids are making him a valentine card out of a piece of red poster board, that they're going to sneak into his car after he gets home tonight.

We also have a journal that we bought a few years ago. One of us writes in it (lovey-dovey stuff, things we've been through since the last time we wrote in it, etc.) and it gets wrapped up and given as a 'gift' to the other on random holidays. I got it for Christmas, so it's my turn to give it to him for Valentine's Day.

I got him a tee shirt and cap from Cafe Press with the type plane he has on the items. The design was the logo from a type club convention we actually attended in Calif. back in the 90's.

I made him a decorative wood panel. I always tell him "You're my favorite." (and I started saying it way before it appeared on Pintrest. I don't know why it's important to say that, but it is. ) So the panel says: You are my favorite . . . and then lists a whole bunch of things like couch cuddler, popcorn maker, husband, best friend, . . . Person in the whole wide world. It came out pretty cute. I should take a picture of it.

It didn't take very long to make at all. the longest part was waiting for the stain to dry. The vinyl took about 10 minutes to cut (I did a full 12x24 sheet) and about 5 minutes to stick down.

mine is sooo hard
his only hobby is working out and he is the healthiest eater
he told me don't make me any treats
maybe this weekend on his "cheat day"
so i got him a dave & busters gift card to stick in his card for a "date night" - my parents agreed to watch the little one this weekend so we can go out.

Who says women are easy to buy for? I am so picky, and my friends are too. I got my husband some cologne that he has wanted. I will also make his favorite dinner and get him chocolate. He loves chocolate!

Nothing for me. Last Oct. I ran into our mailbox and broke the back of the side mirror. You can still see out of it just fine. But when I took my car in for oil change a couple weeks ago, they said it would have to be fixed before inspection in June. It will cost $405! So no Valentine's, birthday and Mother's Day gifts for me. The lovely mirror will be my gift!

I think there are two always safe choices for men on valentines day (or any day, really): food/drink or something sexy, ideally both. Enough said.

Compression shorts because he asked for them. He's a runner and needs some new ones. I also get him some dark chocolate. We usually are pretty laid back about Valentines since today is DD's birthday and we celebrate that instead.

We don't exchange gifts on Valentine's Day. We're going out to lunch tomorrow to a new restaurant and we'll have a special dinner for the kids after all of the sports practices are over tomorrow night. We're using our Valentine's Day budget to go to a chef's tasting next weekend.

My DH used to be hard to buy for, but then I discovered thinkgeek.com. It has made gift giving for him a million times easier. He's a pretty geeky guy, but the site caters to fans of things like star wars, star trek, video games, programmers, The big bang theory, Dr. Who, etc.

I also have recently discovered shutupandtakemymoney.com, which also kind of panders to a geekish audience, although some of the things on there are just cool guy gifts in general.

This year I made him star-wars themed candies with ice cube trays shaped like the millennium falcon and x-wing fighters (star wars stuff). Pretty sure he's going to love it.

Two cards -- one funny and one sweet/romantic, a bag of peanut m&ms, and lots of kisses.

We have often asserted and we affirm it yet again that no fact in history is better attested than the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It must not be denied by any who are willing to pay the slightest respect to the testimony of their fellow men. That Jesus, who died upon the cross, and was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, did literally rise again from the dead. (excerpted from Dance Your Shoes Off, Second Baptist Church)

We don't usually do anything for Valentine's Day, maybe a card, or if it falls on the weekend, I'll make one of his favourite meals.

This year I picked up some props and took some romantic/sexy self-portraits for him.

DH is on a diet this year. Sigh.

I ALMOST bought him A BEAR HOLDING A HEART (it's a joke between us -- it's an old SNL skit). He got me one a couple of years ago and we laughed and laughed.

I got him a tiny bag of Mary Janes. I should have got more, but I didn't want to tempt him to cheat. I'm trying to be nice *and* good. That's really, really hard.

I have been wanting to do this, but everything is ridiculous expensive around here. Like $200+ expensive and most of them aren't even hands on. What the heck is the point of that?
