So you all know that I have been resistive to buying washi tape..so I thought I'd do a real quick type of experiment.

I have some scotch matte finish removable tape, next got out staz on ink, and some small rubber stamps.

Took a 12 in length lay flat. stamp repeated times, wait for it to dry( I am not to patient light dust of power to help it dry!!) and rerolled in on a plastic tube.

now this is fun and cheap!!

anyone else doing this to get it out of your system?

That's a great idea. I too have resisted buying the washi tape. Just have too many other things that I bought and haven't used yet.

I have.

I used double sided tape.
Stick it on some wax paper, so I can pull it up after.
Add tissue paper on it.
Ink and then stamp a pattern on it.
Cut to size.

Here is a tutorial I did on my blog.

How long do these things take though? Besides paper, washi tape is the one thing I am addicted to buying! I don't know why, but I can't stop buying it. That and wood veneer

Yes, I have made my own washi tapes! I own a few rolls - seven, maybe? - but there are so many yards of washi on each roll that the pattern/color has to be super versatile for me to buy it. So, mostly I just make my own.

Not very long at all, actually! It's a really quick & easy project. It uses supplies you probably already have & it's fun to play with the tapes. I enjoy trying new patterns & color combinations. Here's a video I did of the last batch I made: blog post w/ washi photos & video tutorial

Making the tissue tapes is fun and relaxing for me & then I don't worry about using them up - I can always make more!

Kathryn- loved your video. I have a lot of Distress stains I haven't used much so I am excited about a way to use them AND have a great collection of washi tapes.

P.S. Your link didn't work, but I was able to find the video thru your youtube channel
