I noticed a lot of peas were talking about doing the LOAD in Feb. How are you all doing? It's been almost two weeks, are you keeping up?
I didn't join this month, but I might in the future. Is it what you expected? Any other comments from those in progress? |

I heard a lot about it, too, and I honestly just figured out what it was. what is there to "join"? Is there actually a class or a thread? Or do you just mean join as in participate in? |

The next LOAD is in May 2013. It happens a few times a year. If you belong to the Scraphappy.org membership site, I think they do another 1 or 2 a year there (I'm new there so I'm not 100% sure about that).
There is some LOAD information here on my blog.
I've been keeping up with the event - watching the daily video, brainstorming layouts, chatting on the message board, looking at and commenting on layouts, etc. I've only completed a few layouts which isn't how I planned it, but oh well. I'm going to a retreat this weekend and hope to play catch-up a bit.
I can't recommend it enough. The LOAD groups get really tight. Everyone is very supportive, helpful, fun, and nice. The prompts really get you thinking, journaling deeper, scrapbooking things you may not have done otherwise. I'm having a wonderful time and will do every LOAD from here on out.
I get them free by being a member of Scraphappy (there's a membership special being announced any day now and I'll be extending my membership). But even if I had to pay the $40-50, I would. Totally worth it. |

I haven't done one LO. Go me!!!
We've all been hit with the flu, so I don't even know when I will be able to get a LO done, let alone one a day. |

I'm keeping up and have followed the prompt every day!! yeah me!! Today was my least motivated day, but hopefully it was just because I had a busier day than I've been having.
LOAD has totally been the boost I've been needing. I'm finding myself spending more time in my craft room than ever and am motivated to put together layouts for an upcoming retreat I have scheduled.
I joined Scrap Happy during True Scrap in Oct and didn't feel like I was getting much from it until LOAD, now I will renew just for the next LOAD.

So far so good! I have created 12 layouts in 12 days! I am headed upstairs to my scraproom when my DD is asleep to work on tonights. This is my first LOAD and I am loving it! Lain's prompts have opened my mind to so many new creative outlets! I encourage anyone who hasn't done it before to participate in the May LOAD!

I got off to a great start, but lost my mojo when life got busy last Friday. I got back in the saddle yesterday and plan to keep going. I haven't really followed the prompts much, although I watch them everyday. They've given me great ideas, I generally need time to let ideas 'gestate' before I scrap them. Time to pack some more page kits! |

I didn't do LOAD this time around but I usually keep up with the layout a day theme when I do. |

I've got 18 LOs done, so that part is working! But I missed posting a couple nights, doing this while working full time and engaging in actual life is a doozy of a challenge! I am no longer in competition for the grand prize...not that I would have won anyway! I'm going to meet my goal of at least 30 LOs though and that's why I joined. I only paid $25 I think during an early promotion. I've been working on my to do list rather than following her prompts, I think next time I'll clear my table and follow the prompts! I enjoy the gallery although I don't feel I have time for it. I try to comment on at least a half-dozen LOs every day. |

I would love to do a layout a day or the equivalent. I need to do something to hold myself accountable and make some progress on the enormous stack of photos on my desk. I need to scraplift or something! |

I am 13/13!
I LOVE the prompts this time around; so much deeper and requiring more introspection than previous LOADS. |

I am a day behind. The prompt for 13 really threw me for a loop because I am one that trys a lot of different things. I have todays prompt ready to go. Just need to find a sketch.
I usually follow the prompts and have 1 or 2 projects in kits ready to go for the days I'm not feeling the prompt or am too busy. This is my 5th one - I started when it was offered at BPC. I love the prompts and the LOs I do. They are totally not stories that I would normally tell.
I am a member of scrap happy. I don't participate much on the message boards, but I am pretty happy with having the 3 LOADs a year for free. The one is October is members only. Lain also gives special discounts to her events and classes for members. |

I am on target so far. I haven't done today's layout yet, but I've figured out what I'm going to do.
I highly recommend LOAD for anyone considering it. The community that it becomes is so nice and supportive
The next LOAD will be in May of this year. I will be happily doing that unless my life suddenly derails. I've learned that most of my fast layouts are my favorites, and like Shimelle once said "Journaling is an indulgence". I've been all about the story more than the photos this year. |

I am doing terrible, in fact, I haven't even started... I am quite inspired though. I got a new job on Jan 28th, so I leave the house at 7:20am and get home at 6pm. Then it's all about dinner and bedtime prep. I love that the prompts don't go away though, so I can certainly do the layouts when I start getting into the routine of things.

16/15 so far I'm absolutely loving LOAD. I do find that on the nights I'm really tired I do a digital layout instead of paper scrapping! I'm having a ton of fun though! |

Ugh. I'm hopelessly behind. I had to make Valentine cards instead of layouts. lol! And I haven't scrapped at all during the week. But this weekend, I will be catching up a bit.

I've seen LOAD references for years here in passing, maybe not even clicking on a GS board post to know what the heck-LOL.
It's fun! 16 for 16 for me, my first.
The Gallery is wonderful. Knowing where people started with the prompt brings a neat feel to the artwork for me. I stop fiddling with my layout so I can post and go ENJOY other's work.
I'm working in 8.5x11 for the first time becasue I was skeered of too much acreage to cover with 12x12. In May, I'll do 12x12.
A couple of prompts were worth about 2 years of therapy after the page was done.
Nice bunch of ladies over there, super supportive women- gotta love that.
A smaller group is signing up for Define Your Style A-Z which is 31 daily prompts as well-we'll do it as a smaller group in March. (I think it was a past LOAD maybe?)
Define Your Style A-Z I'll probably go with 12x12 for this one too. Right now, I think my style is make people seasick from too much going on my page-LOL- so hopefully hone that a bit.
I'll post some layouts here soon also-probably a huge batch of them. |
Scrapbooking is not an addiction, it's a subculture.

Update from my retreat, end of Day 2 of 4: I've finished 8 Project Life layouts and a 2-pager in response to LOAD prompt day 16 for 10 total pages.
Still have 2 days to go! I'm going to keep working on LOAD layouts |
