I was out shopping for DH's valentine gift tonight. I wanted to buy him a bottle of Burberry because he was out. I was at Ross and found a perfume I used to wear while I was dating my DH. I got DH's cologne and my old perfume. Immediately in the car, I ripped open the package and sprayed myself with my new old perfume from Colors of Benneton.

I waited for DH to get home tonight and asked him to smell me. How do you like my new perfume? He looked at me and told me that it smelled slutty. That's the same thing you said when we were dating! Anyway, that bottle of nostalgia was only $9.99 and worth every penny =)

Do you have a fragrance that brings back good memories?

I didn't know you can get Burberry at Ross. That's what my dh wears, too, and I wear the ladies' version. I'll have to try there next time!

Chance by Chanel reminds me of our engagement and early years of marriage. DH used to buy me a bottle in the duty free shop every time he traveled for work. It was a splurge at the time. But, he traveled for work ALL the time (was away about 50% of the time), so I didn't use it nearly as fast as he bought it. Eventually I had several extra bottles and got tired of it, so gently asked him to bring me something else.

I still have a bottle in the cabinet and wear it once every long while just for nostalgia.

I have several.

Cool Water, yum! The guy I dated my senior year wore it and I love it still. DH doesn't wear cologne but when we first started dating, I got him a small tester bottle of it (probably sounds odd since an ex wore it).

CK - remember that was like a unisex cologne. I dated a guy that wore so when I smell it, I go back to those fun times.

Polo - now this one is not a good one. I dated a guy that wore it and it wasn't a good relationship. So when I smell it, not so good memories.

They had Burberry Brit, and the regular Burberry in 1.7oz sizes. I didn't see any for women.

Chance by Chanel is my DD's favorite =)

Design and L'Eau d'Issey were the most popular perfumes at my high school (1988-91).

For guys, it was Obsession and Drakkar.

Holy olfactory flashback.

Smells really bring back memories. Victoria from Victoria's Secret rinds me of high school, and also a strange pink and grey sweater.
Cool water reminds me of hemorrhoids. My sister bought it for me when my first daughter was born....and i was really struggling with them...so funny to me.

I have a small sample size bottle of Victoria I smell every once in a while

I put on Chanel Mademoiselle the other day. The 80's perfume for tweens. I bought it for DD it didn't suit her. Brought back a lot of memories.

It still smells like sick for the first few minutes.

LOVES BABY SOFT!!! Oh my gosh, I can smell it now!

L'Air du Temps - one whiff and I can remember my mother when I was an itty bitty girl.

Ralph Lauren - The gold top, the brownish red square bottle. I felt so grown up when I got my own bottle for Christmas while I was in middle school.

Gucci - some girl in high school broke a bottle of this in the locker next to mine and it seeped into all of my books... the smell still makes me gag!

Polo - a guy from the water polo team in high school used to wear way too much of this after getting out of the pool WITHOUT showering. Polo and chlorine. Still remember that guy's name. I sat right behind him in 1st period American History.

CK - I wore it all the time when I was living in NYC in the early 90's.

I love perfume and the way it can trigger memories!

I used to wear Eternity back in the late 80's/early 90's. I bought some awhile ago, but the smell made me sick.

Guys I dated wore Polo and Drakkur. My DH doesn't wear cologne, but showers with Irish Spring soap. So I associate that smell with him.

Sweet Honesty from Avon. And I would layer (aka drown myself!) with the powder and the scent. I wore that everyday from Jr. High through High School! I hope I didn't damage someone's sense of smell.

I didn't wear perfume often, but when I did it was Colors by Benneton. I haven't smelled it in years! One of my good friends wore Eternity, and I'm sure smelling that again would bring back all kinds of memories!

The guy I had a huge crush on in middle and early high school wore British Sterling.

Dh was trying new colognes once and sprayed that on his wrist. Don't get me wrong, I adore my dh (together since I was 16!) but I just could not support him wering that scent! lol

I have family members with allergies and I get headaches from strong scent so I never got in the habit of wearing perfume. I remember in HS all the popular girls wore Eternity. I think partially because of those naughty ads.

I still have the bottle of perfume my husband bought me for our first Valentine's Day. I should wear it tonight for him.

I would be spraying from the 60's ! Those scents would be English Leather, Canoe, British Sterling... yum

A neighbor girl who was two years older than me wore Wind Song. I thought she was so sophisticated ! I wore Avon scents - Here's My Heart, which I have been looking on E Bay for lately.

If any Pea has some still... I would be eternally grateful.

Mary Kay Premonition. It's the only perfume that has ever truly smelled great on me. And DH loves it. I have just a tiny little bit left and no matter how sneaky I think I am being when I put it on, he immediately says "mmm, you smell so good."

Dammit, why couldn't he like something that is still available.

He looked at me and told me that it smelled slutty. That's the same thing you said when we were dating!

LOL - that does remind me of how DH told me I had shitty taste in music (I was listening to Rex Smith on my 8-track player at the time) and made fun of my accent on the very first day we met.

In high school I wore Poison. Yep, now it smells like Raid to me, but I wore it and so did everyone else LOL!

After Poison came Eternity, Passion and Tommy Girl. They all bring back memories from right out of high school and where I used to work. Good times!

DH was a Drakkar wearer. Now he never wears cologne.

mine was Opium.

But the woman that lives with my Husband's brother LOVES Enjoli. Somehow brother found a bottle of it for her Christmas.

We were at brother's house and my son( then 8 y/o) asked if they were having trouble with bugs, brother said no, no bugs. Son then replied, then why does She smell like she was spraying for ants???

Needless to say She never wears that perfume around son anymore.

Anais Anais....but back in the 80s. LOVED that stuff!!! I actually saw it recently and was very surprised it's still around.

As a little girl I had Sweet Honesty....in angels, in snowmen, in butterflies...every Avon container seemed to contain it! I still have one of the angels.

I had sunflowers too. Bad memories. A bottle went rancid. I donated it to be used as air freshener. A girl at school with no sense of smell thought it smelled just fine and started wearing it. Every day with repeat applications. We had to stage an intervention.

It ended up broken and was spread everywhere the entire school smelt like rancid sunflowers for most of a week.

Mine shows my age. I swooned whenever I smelled Aramis on a man

I was set up on a blind date with this gorgeous hunky man that wore Aramis on our first date. I fell head over heels for the smell of him. He had a barn construction business and did some modeling on the side. I didn't learn about the modeling part until later in our relationship because he was a little embarrassed about it.

He smelled so incredible. He was also the first man I dated after my divorce, so I was ready for some major fun. I could be anywhere and get a whiff of Aramis and my knees would turn to jelly.

After that relationship ran its course, I bought Aramis for all the men I dated from then on. I wonder if you can still buy it.

Love's Baby Soft reminds me of junior high. (Late 70s)
Drakkar smells like the boys in high school. (Early 80s)
CK was my favorite high school/ college scent. (80s) I think I need to buy a bottle of it now. I forgot how much I liked it.
