Has anyone enrolled their teens and friend (either boyfriend or girlfriend) in ballroom dance lessons? I am considering it for my dd and her bf or. Group of her friends. They are16 years old. I figure if they go as a group it will be fun and they will learn how to properly dance for life. Yes or no?

I think it would be wonderful for young people to learn ballroom dancing. I took lessons when I was 14. The problem that you have as you get older is finding a partner who also knows how! I think in my whole life, I only met about 2 or 3 men who really knew how to dance - and none of them were married to me! LOL! I was just lucky enough to be at the same wedding or function and get a chance, for an evening, to really dance.
Tell the kids to watch Dancing with the Stars and that they could actually learn how to dance like that! Wow! I hope they agree!

It probably gave them more confidence than anything else. They love going to their proms/dances because they are confident in getting out there and shaking things up. There is also nothing like dancing with your teenage sons

Yes! As a high school student, I attended a local university's student ballroom dancing organization, it was so fun! I also took private swing dancing lessons with my best guy friend, we only had to pay the youth lesson rates, so it was affordable even on a occasional babysitter's income.

My husband would love to take ballroom lessons.
My daughters, not a chance! My husband would tell them boys like girls that can ballroom dance.

Here's a link for one that's national, although there are many that are just local. http://www.nljc.com/

Yes! Dd did a series of lessons at 14. I imagine it would be much more fun to do with friends.

A group of us did when I was in high school. It was lots of fun
A friend of my DD's had a dance party complete with instructors for he 16th BD. The instructors taught some swing, line dancing, salsa, chacha. Kids had a blast.
