In a recent GG episode, Shimelle was creating a layout for her honeymoon and made a 12x12 traditional single page and used a divided protector for the second page of the layout. I was completely intrigued by this. I am working on an album for our Santa Barbara - Big Sur - Monterey coastline drive this past summer. There are just too many photos that I wanted to include but was at a loss on how to do it without 10+ photos on each layout. I had picked up a ton of the WRMK Albums Made Easy divided protectors by mistake. I went shopping at Target to get flu medicine and grabbed divided protectors instead of the regular 12x12 page protectors. Serendipity I guess.

Outside of the PL ladies, is anyone using this method for scrapping? I imagine this would help speed up the creation process a bit. I going for it. Now I just need some ideas...... Thanks!!!

Yup I am including a variety of page protectors now. It is working well for me. Especially as a way of finishing off albums

I am doing PL, but I am also going to do that style of scrapbook to scrapbook a ton of photos that we have from a couple of different zoos. I already have a bin full of kits, papers, card stock and embellishments in a zoo theme, so I am going to use that and the WRMK/BH sleeves to put it together.

I've done it a few times and plan to do more in the future.

For example, for a recent weeklong trip to visit my Gramdma:

-I went through all the pictures and printed the ones I wanted to include in our album - it was probably around 30 or so. No plans at this point, just the best pics that told the stories I wanted included.

-Over the past couple of months I have had the whole group in my recent photo files (I divide by date/event), and I have made 2 LOs from it.

-Last week, I went through the remaining pictures, chose pictures to make 2 more single page LOs (pictures that would be fun to scrap). The remaining 20 or so pictures are going to go into 2 divided page protectors. I'll be able to put 4-5 pictures per single side of a divided protector, which gives me a few spots for journaling and some embellishing.

I'll end up for four single page LOs, plus 2 (double-sided) divided page protectors, so it won't be too overwhelming in my yearly family album.

This works great for this kind of trip for me - we go to visit Grandma usually twice per year, and end up with similar-type pictures. So I don't feel pressure to scrap the same LOs every time, but I still get lots of pictures of DS and his great-Grandma along with plenty of journaling. Win-win for me!

yup!! I've made a few layouts like this... I make a double-page layout, then add in an additional 6x12 divided page protector in between. That way, I can add in 6 more photos, and add journaling to each one if I want. I haven't made any (yet) with 12x12 divided page protectors, but considering that I've only done 3 weeks of Project Life (last year, lol!) I doubt I'll have to worry about running out of divided page protectors. I could see using a 12x12 divided page protector as 'one side' of a 2-page layout and doing a 'pretty' scrapped page for the other half of the layout, easy.

What GG episode was it?? I'll have to check it out!

I've been using divided page protectors for years. Life is busy and I don't have time to make traditional pages all the time.

I have just bought several pkgs of divided protectors (different brands) to include more pix with a layout but I've found I may have to start taking 2 photos each time--one horizontal and one vertical--because I won't know which direction I will need or want to use.
