I am working on my Fiji vacation book, and want to convert a logo that contains a turtle into an embelishment. I found an article on the coffee shop blog how to make a higher res brush from a low resolution image in inkscape. I am folloing the directions and my poor turtle is very pixelated. I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Would someone be able to help me with it please? Thanks

My understanding is that Inkscape is a program similar to Illustrator in that you can create vector images, is that correct? It seems that a smart way to create a higher quality image from a poor one is to create a vector image when it's at the small size, then when you enlarge it, you have no loss of quality. But I'm really not sure how you are doing it, or what your original image looks like, nor how large it is. But my guess is that your original image is so tiny, that even making a brush with it, and then enlarging it, makes the image pixelated. If that's the case, there's not much you can do short of redrawing the logo, that will make it crystal clear. If you grabbed a logo from the internet for example, chances are it's very low resolution. Is there a way to find a better image?

If you send me a PM, I'll be happy to work with you via email, to create or find a higher res image we can make into a PNG file.
