I remember Jangle and dMarie. I discovered 2Peas via the AOL scrapping message boards.
I never understood why some peas lost their Peanut number and others didn't.

I've learned so much from the Peas
: over the years.

I am one of the ones below 100,000 (I think today, in fact, is my 10th anniversary as a Pea). I am always surprised to see Peas with numbers below 10,000, but I do see them periodically, and of course Kristina is Pea 1.

My original number was 3850. I was one of the first to get to make my own title....... Even have a printout of the the thread Jeffery posted to inform me of it.

If you have been around a while, there's an "Old Timers" board you get automatic access to. I'm not sure what the magic date is, but I have access. Guess I'm an Old Timer.
2Peas will not honor the old threads and numbers so I cannot get to the 'Old Timers" board.

The old timers board is for numbers under 10,000, for those wondering previously. Its not very active though, unfortunately.

Also if you want to check your # without looking at a post you can just look at your public profile. It says right there under your location and it also is the title of your link.

Here is mine, see at the end it says 257567, thats my PeaNut Number.
http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/user_profile/257567/

But yet again, this doesn't work in the app....ughhhhhh Buuuttt you can use the regular safari app on your phone and look at your profile on there to see what your number is.

HTH!

I'm #9,321 due to the glitch, but I wonder if I dug out pages I printed from the gallery back in the late '90s if that would have my original number?

I remember at the time some people approached Two Peas to get their number reinstated and I think they were able to. I figured it wasn't a big deal, but now I'd kind of like it!

Fun thread!

I din't realize about the Old Timer's board.

I heard about the board burp but that was before my time.

About 8-12 yrs. ago, the board was booming big time. So numbers were increasing like crazy.

I have been coming here on and off since I joined.
In the early years it was so busy if you posted a new thread it was buried in a matter of hours. I've posted more in the last 2 years than the past 11 years!

I remember that! Seriously, you'd walk away for an hour and the page one threads would be on page 6 or 7.

Back in the day, I used to be on Two Peas 3+ hours a day. Yikes! Then I had a kid

I'm another old timer/mostly lurker. My number is 1551 and I never lost it/had it changed whenever the glitch happened. I found 2peas way back in the day when I was looking for paper piecing patterns--I bought all the ones 2peas use to put out. Of course, I haven't paper pieced in years!

I didn't open an account/username until my first order - it always makes me laugh that I can see that order on my account. It was lots of cutesy teddy bear papers and stickers, all 8.5x11. Even with all that time and all the posting I do now, I'm still nowhere near that 'make your own pea title' level. I do way more reading than posting, I guess!

Definitely remember jangle and dmarie, and a few other boards that were all so active back in the day. It was hard to keep up, and a lot of the time it was the same people conversing on different sites so it was hard to remember what was where! but it was dmarie that started their own scrapbook auction site, wasn't it? I paid for my college textbooks by selling paper pieced teddy bears. I swear I have nightmares that someone will out my ultra-cutesy early days of scrapping!!

I came here from Jangle in 1999 and then I lost my count with the "great board burp". I lurked for a long time before registering again. Love this place!

"Can someone tell us about Jangle and dMarie? I had never heard of them before this thread."

dMarie was another scrapping message board with a gallery. They had a thing like pea-soup too.
The board there was much quicker moving than the old two peas board, but maybe because 2peas was newer.

I joined early in 2001 and I think I lost my joining number in one of the blips that happened. I participated in tons of swaps and remember all the huge scandals in the SWAP Boards that eventually led to it and the original FSOT board being shut down.
