WOW!!!! I was impressed before seeing the before pictures, now I am speechless! There is no way, in a million years, I could ever envision what that house could become. You guys have some serious talent! I would never be able to leave it but I get the excitement of moving on to something new.

I wasn't entirely convinced that it could be something great when we first saw the house 2 years ago. Jen was more convinced than I was and certainly was more confident about it all.

I remember gutting the place down to the drywall and the 2 months of hell that was getting the house ready for move in. It's been a lot of hard work but a lot of fun too. We've learned SO much here and hope to use that knowledge to make the next project even better.

We're ADD by nature as designers so we have to move on to the next thing

Hey, why don't you guys come move in with me for awhile???? Huh? Huh?

What a beautifully done remodel! I am not the least bit surprised that you had multiple offers on the first day.

We've learned SO much here and hope to use that knowledge to make the next project even better.

I've been following your blog as we have been doing a major remodel on our 1950's ranch. We are nearing the end of the front half of the house (while we've lived here) and while we have learned much, DH & I both agree - NO MORE PROJECT HOMES! My hat's off to you both for your talent and willingness to do it another time!

I'm noticing lots of questions about your products. Have you considered putting your photos on Houzz.com and tagging the various components? That has been so helpful to me as we have done our remodel.

How much time do I have to squeeze in a visit?
You can come and help me pack!!

Hey, why don't you guys come move in with me for awhile???? Huh? Huh?

You know I would Mary Mary, but your house is already TOO full. And you might try to keep my babies.

what color is the master bedroom
Master bedroom is Kelly Moore Brindle. LOVE the color, its a dark grey, but its really warm almost brown, but definitely NOT brown.

Can I ask what brand and color your floors are in the living room and kitchen?

Heritage Brand Rococo Oak hand scraped & distressed engineered wood (from simple floors)

DH & I both agree - NO MORE PROJECT HOMES! My hat's off to you both for your talent and willingness to do it another time!

I think the reason that we are willing to do more is because we did the majority of it before we moved in. I don't think I could live IN a construction zone. I highly recommend this to anyone because it will make your project more cohesive and once you live in a place it takes 10x longer to get anything done. We spent 2 months getting the house ready, and I told DH it had to be ready by then because we had a newborn and he couldn't be in construction dust. There were days I didn't even see him, and at the end night that I was helping at the house till 3 in the morning with the baby sleeping in a closet upstairs. But all the walls, trim, floors, and major remodels were done during those 2 months. After we moved in we finished all the cabinets and a few contained projects like the laundry room and closets.

Your home is absolutely stunning. I have followed your updates on here for a while but hadn't seen the before pictures. Now seeing the finished product both before and afters--- wow, just WOW!!! You are both super talented and incredibly gifted at having an eye for "what could be". You truly made something amazing from something that was pretty terrible to start off. And I am even more impressed at how much you accomplished in such a short time frame.

Congrats on your next place and can't wait to see another transformation.

That is perfect! the rest of the house is a latte color, so I don't want a blue grey. A grey with brown undertones would work really well.

I just showed DH your before and after pics, he was really impressed with the transformation.

I can't imagine what that would be like. I keep torturing myself by looking at the blog and drooling over the pics, wishing I could gut my house. Although, if I was buying I would request that you keep all of your furniture and decor in there as well. I can't imagine that the buyer will need or want to do any projects for a long time!

Now off to check out the new scrapbooking line...

ETA: I am going to have to hit up the scrapbooking store tomorrow. Love the new line, as usual!

I would love links or lists of projects or at least the names of paint colors (you know, in case we ever move). I love the colors you chose, especially that blue. I was looking for a color like that for DS room but what we chose ended up much brighter.

Well we signed the paperwork today for the offer we chose. We got 8 offers and most of them sent a personal note with their offer, which was really nice - but made the decision even harder! Looks like were set to close on the 29th of March - scary!! Now we have to figure out what we're going to do!

I would love links or lists of projects or at least the names of paint colors (you know, in case we ever move). I love the colors you chose, especially that blue. I was looking for a color like that for DS room but what we chose ended up much brighter.

I've been meaning to do links on the side-bar of my blog to all the projects, for now you can scroll through any posts under the category "the project house" - http://www.theprojectgirl.com/category/the-project-house/

As far as paint goes - my rule of thumb is if you're trying to go light, go much lighter than you think - almost white. If you're trying to go dark, go much darker than you think - at least 2 shades. And ALWAYS go de-saturated. Bright colors just look garish on walls and much brighter than you imagined, you need some grey(black) and white added into the color to make it palatable for the eye.

The flooring is Heritage brand Rococo Oak Engineered wood hand-scraped wide-plank from Simple Floors.

Your house really is spectacular! It makes me really happy to look at the photos and at the same time a bit depressed that my house is such a dump compared to yours LOL!

Are you sure that the asking price is correct? If it is correct, it is a STEAL! You would get AT LEAST double that here. At least! If not more. Holy heck, if I can have a house like that for that asking price (or close to it) I think I'm going to move to the US right now LOL!

congrats!

you guys have done an amazing job.

somewhere up thread you mentioned that it is better to do the major remodel BEFORE you move in. to that i say 'amen, amen, AMEN!.' we have been working on major renovations for 5 years, and have lived in the house that entire time. it has been a NIGHTMARE of moving stuff around and piles of dust. i will never do it that way again. way too hard.

good luck on your pack-up and move. we will be in cali a lot during the next 4-8 weeks packing up my mom and her two houses, too!

cheers,
erin
