I am completely torn between Amy's Yes, Please and Lizzy's Lucky Charm...I know a lot of you are starting to get your orders in with the new stuff in them, so I would like to know what line you chose and why...or if you got some of both what did you get from each??

P.S. I am getting a refund this year and it is due any day now so I plan on splurging... and it will be the first time in a while that I have been able to purchase scrappy stuff so I might be over-thinking it but I want the collection that I can get the most of.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks for the heads up on the My Girl Collection...I like the embellishments a lot.
My shopping list ( Please feel free to add on)
1) My Girl Yo-Yo Paperclips
2) My Girl Hula-Hoop Delight
3) My Girl Lovable Lily Paper
4) My Girl Adorable Abby Paper
5) Crate Paper Photo Frames (Overlays)
6) Lucky Charm Bits
7) Lucky Charm Flair
8) Lucky Charm Paper-Stargazer
9) Lucky Charm Paper-Wishbone
10)Lucky Charm Paper-Falling Star
11)Lucky Charm Paper-Pretty Poppies
Please let me know of anything that fits with this as I am not good at shopping and I could use some help getting together a kit...Something I can use as a group for a while!! TIA
To me, the Lucky Charm is more useable. Yes, Please actually doesn't do a whole lot for me. I really thought it would, but the more I look at it the more it seems.. I dunno... just kinda been there/done that I guess.
Maybe once I start using the couple sheets of Yes, Please that I bought I'll feel differently.
I prefer yes please to lucky charm. I have both of them and they are better in person than online. I think the reason would be the colors. Have you looked at American Crafts My Girl? Totally adorable.
I like the My Girl line but I haven't looked all that closely at it. I think I tend to avoid looking at lines that seem geared towards children b/c I have none. I did however seen one piece of paper that like ( I only looked @ one)
I am leaning more towards lucky charm simply because the embellishments are "different" while Yes, Please seems to have some of the same and some new.
Also b/c I have used sketchbook but have never used a dear Lizzy line.
I am very indecisive...
It was too hard for me to choose just one so I ended up getting both entire collections.. If I absolutely had to just choose one it would be the dear lizzy! She has the most beautiful collections & I love them! I'm also in love with Maggie Holmes! Second favorite for sure.. I too also got a nice refund & since its my last refund I will have for a while (im a SAHM) my fiancé is ok with me spending it all on myself but of course I had to get my DD something's too I love tax season!
If it was me I would get a bit of both, your favourite papers from each.
But if I had to choose between I would say the Lucky Charm. I love love love the navy and Yes, Please is a bit too pastel for me.
I bought more of Yes, please than Lucky Charm. It seemed more unique to me.
I love them both but Lucky Charm is more my style. That said, if you are having a hard time choosing, buy three papers and a couple of embellishments from each, and then you won't have to choose.
I can never see in the pitures. What phrases does the yes, please-phrase stamp have on it?
Also did anyone get the dear Lizzy transparency(s)??
I had to get all three -- Lucky Charm, Yes Please, and My Girl. They are all so different so it is hard to decide one or the other. The Yes Please line is more what i would use for myself or friends. The Lucky Charm and My Girl lines I would use more for my nieces and nephews. Love them all
I was going to order both Yes Please and Lucky Charm. I have Amy Tan's Original, Ready Set Go, and Sketchbook and Yes Please really looked similar to Sketchbook so I decided to go with Lucky Charm and I am not
disappointed. I bought the whole collection and got 2 of the stickers and 2 of the die cuts.
I love them both and I got them both, but I did buy more of the Yes, Please line.
This month I have ordered a ton of Lucky Charm (I got all the papers & vellums, a set of thickers, a stamp set, 6x6 pad and 2 packs of embellishments. I will probably order a similar amount of Yes Please next month )
I would recommend adding the 6x6 Lucky Charm pad to your list, which will give you so many options for layering and DIY embellishments (the Dear lizzy 6x6 pads are especially good in my opinion as they include border strips and small versions of cut apart sheets...possibly other American Crafts lines do as well, but I've only purchased DL recently). If it was me I'd also be tempted to add the Yes, Please 6x6 pad so you can see how much you like it & have a look at some of the papers in real life
I bought a few pieces of Yes Please and most of Lucky Charm. I love Amy T but felt like there was a lot of neon pink for my taste. I also have two boys and feel like LC is pretty versatile. And yeah, lines from You Are My Sunshine and "I love you to the stars and back" got me! I agree the 6x6 pads are really nice and an excellent way to get a better feel for the papers.
DL Lucky Charm!!! I almost bought the entire collection =)
Yes, Please is nice, but it looks too much like Sketchbook which I own (along with Amy's other 2 collections). IMO too similar to own both, and frankly Lucky Charm is just more versatile for me.
6x6 pads will be added...I had no idea that they came with the cut aparts and border. I seem to avoid 6x6 pads but I dont know why. I like them and the smaller prints are great for layering. Thanks.
Since I rarely shop I want to put together a good kit that I can work with for a while. Thank you all.
I have both 6x6 pads & I would not want to have to choose - splurge & get them both - they work together nicely. Really, they are both fantastic - I just made some projects for my LSS with them & I was totally delighted with both lines.
HEY NOELL! PAPERCLIPPING MEMBER HERE!!
To the OP...I think they are both beautiful, but for me the main difference is the blues. Amy Tan's line has turquoise/aqua, where as the Dear Lizzy is more of a navy.
Also-i feel AMy's line is a little to similar (in color anyway), to her past lines. Perhaps that's intentional to use them together.
I am leaning toward Dear Lizzy, but sorry....I just don't get the mason jars again!!! clue me in peas!
I think part of it has to do with what you have in mind in the way of a color scheme or photos. I already had a color scheme in mind that was turquoise/aqua, pink, and orange, so more of the Amy Tan stuff worked for me, although I did pick up a few of the Dear Lizzy stamps and some of the individual papers. I could see myself doing a few individual layouts, but nothing large. And I'm with you princesspaperlove - what IS with the mason jars? I live in Southern California, and I've never used a mason jar in my life. Maybe it's for people who can things? pickle things? or that kind of "farm fresh / shabby chic" vibe? Clueless in Cali.
