Like the title says, I entered a giveaway for the portrait - and I won! Only to notice afterwards that the giveaway was for U.S. residents only...  So, they picked a new winner instead.
Did I mention how much it sucks NOT living in the U.S. and having scrapbooking as your hobby?

Yes, I offered to pay shipping and I did also offer an address in USA they could ship it to, but no such luck.
Next time I eneter a contest I'll be sure to check out terms and conditions first though! However small the print may be ^^ | |

Omg! I would be sooo upset!! I have never won anything.. But then again I hardly enter any contest only a few here and there.. I guess I feel like ill never be lucky enough to win lol..
On time on YouTube I had gotten a message from a youtuber I follow that does giveaways often.. The message said I had won an iPad looked legit and everything I was soo excited jumping up and down and soo on.. Because when she picks her winners she does it by subscribers so you don't have to do anything to be entered.. Well come to find out a few mins later after watching a video on her channel that her account got hacked and it was false that there wasn't a giveaway for an iPad... I knew it was too good to be true lol. I wasn't that upset because I already have one |

It probably has to do with "legal" issues, not shipping. Most contests, I notice say "US residents only" or something to that effect.
But, that sucks anyway! Sorry you didn't get your prize |

Yes, probably something legal. In Canada, we normally have to answer skill testing questions.
Anyone watch Ellen? Remember that she changed their rules so that Canadians could enter. That was awesome (even though I STILL didn't win). |

I think the 3+7 thing is to verify you are a human and not a machine filling out entry forms or leaving spam on the blog. SC does that on their website. I think it's called a captcha. |

As a Canadian I know I check every fine print I can find before entering contests in the USA. Most of the time we are excluded but once in awhile you can find a contest that lets us Canucks in.  |

No, in Canada is it because we distinguish between contests and lotteries. Without the "skill-testing question", the prize give-away is considered a lottery, and subject to different rules/laws/restrictions.
