Do you have some supplies that you find to be timeless, and that you never tire of?
It seems that for me, pattern paper ages quickly. Stuff I loved and swore I would use 6 months ago, now seems outdated to me. I hate that.
However, a lot of the embellishments that go with those papers still seem more current. Not sure why that is.
For me, letter stickers are almost a timeless supply.
I have those Honkin' letter stickers that came in a huge perforated sheet by Mustard Moon that I'm saving for just the right project. I still love them. I probably only have enough letters left for one or two short titles.
I will never get tired of Making Memories tiny ledger alpha letter stickers. Or Heidi Swapp lemonade stand chipboard alphas. I still buy both of these whenever I can find them.
What do you have that has stood the test of time for you, and still feels "current" even though it may be 5-10 years old!

The Making Memories 'Cheeky Shimmer' alphas are some of my faves. I even love them more than Thickers. |

It's funny because I totally feel the opposite as you do about patterned paper- I have some old Mira Mi paper that I adore and am waiting for just the right thing to use it with. Any letter sticker to me is timeless. AC 6th ave are my weakness. I may not be exaggerating when I say I had about 50 sets I was hoarding. |

I love those old HS chipboard letters to which is a good thing as I still have a lot left and am trying to put a dent in my stash. I love that they seem to still work on so many layouts. I also have started using some HS paper tape again - I use it like I would washi tape it is just a bit thicker. I don't use them as often as I should but I still like them when they fit the layout.
ETA: I also love some of my old alpha stamps and still use them - I have added new ones to my stash as well but sometimes it is the old classics that I reach for. |

Plain old brads. I see some people talk about plain brads as if they are out of fashion, but I still love mine. To me, they are a classic embellishment.

I never get tired of ribbon (as I said on your other thread); and alphabet stamps are a frequently used item around here, even though I have two digital die cutters. |

If you would have asked me this 5 years ago, I would have said everything. I honestly thought before my 5 year hiatus that all scrapbooking supplies were timeless. Boy was I wrong. After 3 months since the hiatus and comparing products, I guess timeless products are any kind of alphabets stickers, stamps, die cuts since we always need them for titles, subtitles, and even some journaling.

I do have lots of old paper that I still love! Like, 6 Iris boxes full of old paper that I love. I just find that for new releases, paper tends to age more quickly for me.

I tend to still like most of the paper I buy...even years later - with a few exceptions. But truly timeless supplies: Word stickers, labels, ledger journaling tags, ribbon, brads of any sort... |

I have found that sometimes supplies I have had for a long time come back in style. Vellum, and a particular print of PP I have in several colors comes to mind.
But my cardstock, letter stickers and some of my tags are timeless. (Except that tags were totally not in style for awhile.) |

Cardstock in basic colors.
Patterned papers in classic designs (ledger prints, polka dots, simple stripes, classic florals - those never look aged to me).
Alphabets in classic fonts (both stickers and stamps).
Plain mini brads in metal finishes or basic colors.
I pared down my stash a few years back to just the stuff I really loved and found timeless. Made me a much happier scrapbooker. I add a few trendy things here and there, but for the most part, I tend to stay with timeless.

Letter stickers & buttons. They are the only things I have that I can't imagine purging.

Distress inks.
Funny you should ask this ... earlier this week I was reorganizing and taking down half of my Sizzix towers of dies to put them in boxes in the closet and give me more table space. So I was sorting through which ones I'm more likely to use (keep) and which to store.
I finally decided to get a box for the Shadow Box alphabet. That was the first real investment I made in this craft, and I thought I'd never want anything more than those block letters. Now they look so dated, they're on standby status.
Made me a twinge sad.

I think definitely Alphabets. Thickers never go out of style!
Also buttons...and flair. I have some old AC flair from 6 years ago and flair is still going strong! |

timeless?
letter stickers, photo corners and chipboard
things I'll never rid of regardless of how big my collection gets? ribbon, rubber stamps, fancy buttons and brads
I do agree that nowadays pp STYLES go out of trend like it's no one's business. I think it's because so much of our paper is THEME specific. Remember some of the old chatterbox lines? a lot of their patterns are timeless because it was paisley, flowers, stripes and solids.
OTOH, 5 years from now should we pull out a chevron, everyone who knew chevrons would know that it was an '12 or '13 trend
I think authentique is doing a bang up job at giving us great color combo's with timeless designs. I could see myeslef using some of their stuff way, way, way down the line

I have a hard time calling any l/o complete without including at least one brad. Plus, my alphabet stamps continue to make me as happy as the day I brought them all home.

Plaid pp, some Jolee embellishments, brads and eyelets ( I don't use as much as before) for their fastner use. Ink is timeless and script letter stickers and stamps, theres always a use for these. |

Stamps, ink, flourishes, and die-cuts.
I remember when I first started scrapping and walked into a M's and there were die-cuts already cut for you to put together. They were'nt really pretty, just your basic shapes. Boy, have we come a long way from those days.
I have recently gone back to using flourishes and brads and eyelets |

Well, tools of course. Stamps, ink pads, etc.
Basic cardstock, especially white.
I feel like alpha stickers were out for a while, I almost gave mine away and then they came back with a vengeance.
