...so I'm curious now. Does anyone know what will happen with this part of the board and the digital gallery? I would be really bummed if those went away, too.

I saw that too. I liked knowing my downloads were saved here I'm guessing we won't have access to them later?

Yeah, I don't know, Shan. I'd guess it'd be good to have them backed up somewhere.

On Friday the Digital Creative Team here at 2Peas was disbanded.

We were told that Digital here at 2Peas will undergo a major overhaul with a focus on products that can be integrated with paper scrapbooking.

I think the Digital Designers are still in discussions with the store owners.

These are good questions - the MB, downloads, and digital gallery. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Wow! I am stunned! What a harebrained plan! Can we stage an uprising or something? What? Is digital scrapbooking going away anytime soon? Do most digital scrappers want the emphasis to be on hybrid? Why can't they just add a hybrid section, and leave us to do our digi thing?
I hope that with further thought, they decide to leave things as they are for the foreseeable future!

I was really shocked to hear this too! I can understand if Two Peas is looking to stock the digital designs of paper companies which would be a good fit, but I would have thought it could have been an adjunct to the regular digital designers not instead of. After ten years here, I'll be sad to have to look for a new digital home.

I was upset to hear the news yesterday too. This has been my only digital home. I very rarely ventured else where unless I was looking for a kit theme that we didn't have available here. I suppose we can keep uploading layouts but with most people wanting to have access to new digital products--no one will be here anymore. I have been looking at other sites the last couple of days and just don't know what to do. Some of the sites that I feel like I would be most comfortable at have minimum of 25%-50% of their own product needed to be in them in order to post. I like the idea of an open gallery and I know there are some out there but so far I'm not finding that right fit. Having been on a creative team here, I have so much Two Peas product that I would like to continue using--that it would be hard to get posted on some of those other sites.

I am seriously bummed. I'm sure they have a business-related reason that I am not aware of for closing the digi store, and I'm not assuming it's a bad reason, but this has been my only "digital home", too. I've really enjoyed getting to know the digi community here and would miss "chatting" with all of you and seeing what you're up to.

I am at a lost of what to say in response to this move on the part of two peas website. This has been my home for 9+ years too. I am wondering what they are going to do with their message boards, their digi classes/tutorials and more concerning the digital gallery and bookmarks. I agree without a store to support the digi-scrappers, many will be forced to post other places. The reinterated TOU no longer makes sense to a digi-scrapper as any reference in the future to products, supplies or techniques will force a digi-scrapper to leave the 2peas site to seek out. I thought that was what they wanted to stop.

I have really felt a part of the community here, unlike any other website I've visited. I love the message boards.

I'm sure this is a financially based decision (perhaps digi-scrappers don't need to purchase as much since product can be reused and modified to fit our needs to easily so we don't do as much repeat business as a paper scrapper does to replace used products (esp the basics glue, paper). But it is NOT going away either.

It is going to be sad to see all of our digi-friends being disbanned. I hope we can stay in contact somehow if the boards become digi-free. Perhaps we need to open a private JUST FOR DIGI message board on FB...

I honestly have to say, "I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!"

NOW who am I going to ask how to use my new PSE11 when it comes?

Sad in Seattle,
Debi

I agree with you Debi--I would like to stay and I have really enjoyed the people who I have gotten to know on this site. I love that they "know" my family through my LOs and I have gotten to know theirs. I love the feedback and encouragement I have gotten here as well. I feel like I need to move to another site if I want that same sense of community but I don't know where to go. I feel like I need to go to an open gallery site because of all the Two Peas supplies I have accumulated over the years. I'm not going to give up using it. But I'm not sure that they will have the same sense of community as we have had here. And you are right--we helped each other out so much with questions.

I've been thinking about it... I can't imagine that they would close the digi boards. After all, the boards aren't where they get their income. There isn't a photography store or a NSBR store. It also doesn't make sense to close the digi gallery for the same reason as above... there are lots of galleries here, and they don't all have their separate store. So, perhaps they are just going to stop selling digi product (what ARE they thinking? Such a bad idea!) and stop having digi teams & designers. If we want to keep our special digi community strong, we just need to pull together and show them what a great group we are. They don't want to lose us, because we support 2Ps in so many ways. I'm like many of you... this is my digi home, and has been since I joined 6 years ago. I do post on one other site, but THIS is the place I love and support. It's not the same there. It's an open forum and site- which is good since I don't purchase, but it's sooooo commercial and big. I love the supportive community here, and have gotten so much more out of 2Ps than I've ever contributed. Let's stick together!

I'm hoping that this board will just morph into a digital/hybrid forum, and that they will keep it rather than just getting rid of this part of the board. I know it will be challenging without a digi store, but perhaps it won't mean we can't still have discussions here.

The hard part for me, when people say that we should meet somewhere else on another board, is that about half of the members that were on the old board don't follow. It's so easy to lose track of friends, and even though I don't know any of you in person, I do think of you guys as friends. Thank goodness I know where to find most of you on Facebook....but that's just not quite the same. I really love this board.

Maybe we can get some answers from either Janelle or Jamie. Do either of you ladies have any insight for us?

I hope they address whether or not we will have access to our downloads....

I really don't see them closing down the forum, but anything is possible. Everyone here is so nice and helpful. I would have never learned how to digi scrap if it wasn't for many of you. I even know how to make my own templates now! Hopefully they can give us some warning so we can migrate further on together.

After reading through this thread,I am left wondering.... Are they going to explain ? This is wrong on so many levels,so sad.I just always thought that 2peas would be around forever.I always refer other traditional/hybrid/digital scrappers to 2 peas because it has everything.
In the circle of scrappers that I have come to know, many many of them are switching to digital. While I hope all methods of scrapping survive,I am partial to digital.??????????

Hey ladies! I can't really tell you anything much about what is going on wiht all the questions you asked...mostly cause we as designers can't really tell you either. I would imagine they will still keep the gallery and board up, but I have no real idea. I would suggest if you want to keep in touch with us designers and where we may go please follow our facebook pages. I have loved my time here and am sad that it is coming to an end so quickly after I got here.

I learned to digi scrap here and this is the only store I've bought from since I could always add my challenge prizes so I could get a deal on stuff. I guess anyone that has any prizes better use them up before the digi store is gone. I have to keep posting here. No one else gets my aversion to sentimental layouts. Only my peas would appreciate an I love zombies layout

I can't see the mb going anywhere either.

I do want to say however thank you to all the designers that have made incredible kits. I understand if you choose to find some where else to sell your designs but I hope you still stay to share your layouts and knowledge with us.

I'm kind of irked that no one from 2Peas has announced this and is just leaving people in the lurch. I had to find out from several sources instead of those who know what is going to happen.

To answer just a few questions--I'm not a representative of Two Peas but this is what I know that may make this entire thing a little easier to understand.

#1- Two Peas has not made an official statement yet because the information was leaked pre-maturely from a variety of places. They do plan to inform you all, and their intentions were probably to inform you first but alas the info was leaked.

#2- I know there are a lot of thoughts and concerns swirling around about what is to happen from here and I will leave it to Two Peas to explain in their announcement (as it should be), but just know that they are not planning on dismantling the entire idea of digital all-together. Rather, they are dismantling, and rebuilding something new. But again, it is not my place to explain what that is.

#3- If there is a designer that you frequently enjoyed purchasing from, you may want to add them on facebook, or bookmark their blog/website so that you can continue to follow their work.

Again, there will be an official announcement that will inform you more of what is happening, and it will probably be early this week.

Two Peas, please keep this board!

I, too, am stunned. The nature of digital is that it doesn't require physical inventory, so surely keeping the digital store can't be a huge expense. I will anxiously await hearing what Two Peas has in store for us!

I'd love to see the digi board kept too. As most everybody knows, Paper scrappers don't really "accept" digi scrappers as "real" scrappers. I feel more at home with digi scrappers that have built a relationship together, and can help each other out when needed.

Adrienne, thanks for sharing what you know. It will be good to hear from 2ps officially and see what they have to say.

I didn't mean to start a panic or cause trouble by posting this. I went onto Facebook on Saturday and saw a couple of posts about the digital store closing, and came here to see if there was any news about it. I just mostly wanted some clarification.

Adrienne, as far as I am aware, we weren't told that the decision over the re-direction of the digital side here was a secret. Certainly in the email to the CT we were not told that this was sensitive information to be kept to ourselves.

Also, I am surprised that the management have corresponded with both the CT and DT without having firmed up a new plan. That seems a strange way of doing things. And if they do have a firm plan, why not share it with us? Giving details out would negate the need for hypothesis and rumours.

It's only natural for us in the community here on the digital board to be concerned about things which are going to affect us.

It seems that I am one of the few who post on this board that doesn't really buy digital product from 2Peas. I hope they are doing right by the designers they have, and wish only the best for all of the designers!

We can keep this board going! I come to 2Peas for the boards only, even when I was a paper scrapper. I have not found any other digital scrapbooking website with anything close to the quality of the boards here (not even my favorite stores to buy from!)

Shannon, it will only be active if we keep it that way. The pub is almost dead--and has been for ages. I think if I continue with layout a day posts, I might move it to this board. I didn't post it this week. The participation has been very slow for quite some time, but it's fun to keep in touch.

Hey guys, Jeffrey (aka GeekPea) just made an official post about this closing of the digital store. We can all breathe easier now...they are keeping the board and gallery open and you won't lose your downloads.

I just started coming to this board. I wonder if they will change it to a pay type site. Where you have to pay a monthly fee to see the tutorials etc. I have actually been disappointed on how little traffic this board has.
If there is no offical word, could it be they are just selling things off to start anew?

This reminds me of the local store near my house. Went OOB and everybody complained. It opened back up and people were happy but not enough to keep the store going. It may close again.

Oh gosh. This makes me sad!
It was through 2Peas that I first ventured into digital.
Hasn't the industry changed so much over the last 6 years?!
I used to love all the community challenges and the fun group of participants. I know I haven't been around much in recent years but I do love popping in and this really hits home.
I wish all the departing designers all the best!

Wow I guess I'm late to the party. I missed it all! I only check digiscrap stuff occasionally because I rarely scrap anymore. I wish they would have announced it on all the boards.

Before 2P had digital products they stopped letting us post designer names etc. so someone started DigiShopTalk so people could discuss it in detail. They have an open gallery and everyone there was really nice. I haven't been there in awhile but I will see what is up there.

So that is what happened! I haven't been doing much digital shopping lately but went to 2peas recently when looking for product and couldn't figure out what happened - all the products were gone except for Hero Arts. I personally do not care for their stuff so unfortunately, I will be looking into other companies. And on that note, I was a fan of two didtial sites (one being 2peas) and about a year ago, that site lost the majority of their designers too - one day they were there and the next the were gone and I still don't know why. As a result, I also quit shopping their site as I did not care for the style of products left behind. I truly hope this isn't a sign of things to come for digital scrappers, please 2peas, bring back the digital products!

I'm with you Vallori. I don't like Hero Arts either. They say that there will eventually be more than Hero Arts but it has been three weeks since they quit the digital scrapbooking business and they have nothing new to sell yet. Supposedly it will be other big paper scrapbook company products digitally. I don't think it will matter to me if they bring any other companies in. I like the digital designers we had and have moved on. I just keep lurking back here to see if maybe there is anything of interest anymore.

Just went to the digi store for the first time since they "revamped". I am underwhelmed. I would have thought that they would have had more product to put in there before they dumped everything else. Doesn't make good business sense to me.

I am very late to the party. I was looking through my Papercrafts magazine and found a digital kit that I really liked by Jen Martakis. Is there anywhere that I can buy this kit now or is it just gone?

Thank you,
Barbara
