I have probably 3 layouts with Harry Potter related stuff, some photos of us in Toon Town, and some from Citywalk. Also, at least one LO with photos from Ghiradelli's at Downtown Disney.

I looked at the Creative Imaginations Harry Potter stuff (and Moxxie Magical line) and it really doesn't fit how I was planning to scrap this stuff. I tend to be an Allison Davis/SG line-it-up and use a few coordinating papers scrapper. The CI papers all tended to have a bigger element that doesn't support cutting into strips. So for the HP stuff, I am thinking maybe a grungy line, but the rest are pretty bright.

What lines would you suggest for these topics?

Hi! We are HP freaks in my family and I have an ongoing HP album for our midnight book releases, movie outings, HP parties, HP Wizarding World, etc. through the years. Because I am doing an entire album, I have searched out a number of product lines to use, most are not heavily themed. I have found that a number of the more sophisticated "spooky" halloween lines work well, including:

MME Lost and Found Halloween
Authentique "Enchanted"
BasicGrey Eerie
October Afternoon Witch Hazel (some of the B sides and more general patterns)

And believe it or not, the DCWV Once Upon a Time stack is great for HP--there are a number of tapestry type prints that work well, and some of the theme-y designs have castle, potion, etc. prints if you like that sort of thing.

I also use map paper (esp of London and surrounds) and old book text paper when I can.

But if you wanted to get away from the Halloween-y type of designs, you might check out some of Shimelle's layouts of her visit to the HP movie set--I don't believe she uses any "themed" products for her HP layouts. Some are featured in her Glitter Girl videos and some on her blog...

Also forgot to add, you could use a couple of the October Afternoon Witch Hazel line for the HP Wizarding World photos, and maybe one of the other OA lines like Midway or Woodland Park for the brighter colors in the photos from other areas of Universal Studios...

Great ideas, thank you! I never even thought of looking at Halloween lines for HP, but that could work really well. I will check out the others as well.

A year or so ago there was a specific line of HP paper. I remember our LSS carried it. A lot of it ended up in the clearance section because it didn't sell so well.

I think that is probably the Creative Imaginations line. The papers all have a big design on them...like one has the train, another has a big banner, another the Hogwarts crest. The problem is, if you are doing a 2-page layout, there are not two papers that you can use side by side. And because of the "design" they don't cut in to strips well. If I had ONE HP photo, I could see using them.

I know Glitter Girl did a video (sorry I don't remember the title, but I am almost positive it was this year) about when she went to the Harry Potter set, so you may want to take a peek and see if that layout inspires you.

We just got back from Harry Potter World and heck, I just bought the theme paper. The place was so theme-y, the pictures I have are all on theme, I just said 'to hell with it' and went theme. ((shrugs))

not sure if you absolutely want themed papers but if you don't you should check out Shimelle's blog, she did a lot of layout about our trip to the HP studio!

The problem is, if you are doing a 2-page layout, there are not two papers that you can use side by side.

You could definitely use one side of patterned paper and one side coordinating cardstock. The more you don't "match" your two sides exactly, the more it looks right.

There are plenty of generic patterns out there that would fit HP photos well. You could go with anything gray/brown/black as a base especially.

Any geometric shape would also work

studio calico

more studio

basicgrey

more bg

MME

echo park

OA witch hazel

This shouldn't violate anything by stating to check out a site called scrapyourtrip, they have tons of Harry Potter paper and universal studio's paper and such that might help with your pages. I do believe I order almost everyone that they have and they look amazing. I can't wait to start scrapping my Universal pages just to be able to use them all.

Sigh - the Harry Potter World experience is definitely on my to-do list!
I have been scrapping my photos from the Harry Potter Studio Tour without themed papers. They are a bit scattered here and there, so here are links to what I've shared:

Diagon Alley (with Glitter Girl video)
Welcome to Hogwarts (with Glitter Girl video)
4 Privet Drive
Magical Architecture (with Sketch to Scrapbook Page video)
Winter Ball (with Sketch to Scrapbook Page video)

I think that's all I have shared either here at Two Peas or on my blog. There are also several page examples (and some more video) in my Scrapbook Remix class, for those who have taken that and might want to go back and look at the class materials.

I've tried using book prints here and there and really like that idea - though it is just any old text and not specific to Harry Potter in my case. And on every page somewhere, there is an 'HP', usually in letter stickers. Sometimes quite hidden; sometimes quite obvious. Stars and feathers appear quite a few times throughout my pages too - just vaguely magical, I guess!

Enjoy scrapping all those photos!!!

It's kind of an older line, but Bo Bunny's Cambridge line works really well for HP photos.
