Well now that I have ordered 32 cases...can anyone tell me if you have converted all your stamps into these cases?

I think that I will be able to get several sets into one case so that I can get rid of several cd cases.

So I wanted to know if you changed from the cd cases to the SU storage cases?

Yes, I have, and I love them. I store my stamps by theme, not set, so they make doing that easy. I have printed my own index sheets also.

A piece of advice, though. Do not store any clear stamps in them. Some kind of chemical reaction takes place between the acrylic and the boxes and the plastic warps out of shape. Trust me; I know from experience.

I posted some pictures in my Gallery to give you an idea of how it is working for me. If you have any questions, post here or peamail me. HTH. Link to Gallery

I was using the SU cases to store all my alphas including clear (acrylic). BUT.....I don't have the stamps clung to case....those sets are on acetate and then attached with tape inside the case. I really like it.

Just Lizzy - I'm a little worried now.....I don't have any problems yet. I'm assuming you had yours directly on the case?

Yes, please let us know what happened to the cases and/or stamps. I have several sets of older KI Memories clear alpha sets that I put in these cases and now I'm worried :/

Yes, I had the clear stamps stuck directly on the case. I'd say it took about 4 months for the plastic to start to warp. They weren't in direct sunlight nor where they near any heat source, so I know that wasn't the problem. I've not had any problems with the cases that just hold rubber stamps.

Well I hope that my cases don't warp. I don't have anything but acrylic stamps. So I really hope for the best.

Did you contact SU regarding the cases warping?? I know if it happens to my cases I will contact them. Especially since the cases are supposed to be made to store clear/acrylic stamps.

I have been wanting to do this for so long, especially since I store my stamps by theme as well. I love it because I can pull out birthday and the images are all birthday related.

I store my PTI stamps in these cases. I have not had a problem. Maybe it was a bad batch of cases?
Good luck!

I believe the SU cases were made to store the SU cling rubber stamps not clear/acrylic stamps. It wasn't until very recently that SU came out with their first ever clear/acrylic stamp set. They are only selling one set of clear/acrylic stamps at this point to test the market. I'm not sure what case they are using to sell this set. I am not nor have I ever been an SU consultant.

Thanks for reminding me to order some of those cases! I have several sets of Unity stamps that I'd like to get filed in with my SU! sets. All my clear stamps are in a notebook with page protectors, but the Unity ones are red rubber and much thicker. And stamp club is tomorrow, so I can order away!

Got my cases today and now I realize that I might only be putting my themed stamps that have 4-5 cases into the storage cases until I order more. I am going to wait a few months or so to se if they are ok and don't warp.Plus I will need a whole lot more cases in order to get all my stamps in them.

I've been in the process of converting my stamps from CD cases to the SU ones. I really like them.

I like them too. Much more sturdy. I really hate that the cd cases break so easily.

I feel good that I won't have to replace these cases. I have had to replace cd cases way too often because the kids have broken them when making cards.

I've heard about problems with clear acrylic stamps in these. I wonder why, though. I have many of my clear acrylic stamps in CD cases and they seem fine (yep -- double checked). They've been in them for almost 2 years now.

Wonder if other brands of transparent DVD cases have the same problem?

CD cases are generally what are known as crystal cases. They are made with a clear hard type of plastic that is somewhat brittle. It will crack when broken.

DVD cases such as those made by SU are a different material altogether. The plastic is soft and flexible, and while clear, are not at all the same as the crystal ones.

I believe it's a chemical reaction caused by gases released from the clear stamp material (be it acrylic, or some other polymer) as I've seen reactions between similar materials in the past. YMMV

In my experience, it felt like a few of my clear stamps were breaking down. They were kind of
oily and limp. That did not happen with the cd case, only the SU dvd case.

However, these were not "expensive" clear maybe the studio G or such like that. My PTI stamps I keep on the plastic piece they came with and store that in the SU dvd case with no
problem.

Good to know. I didn't realize the Stampin Up cases were the softer plastic. Thanks for the info.

the SU cases are DVD cases. Totally different material than CD cases...

I have had some clear stamps feel as though they were breaking down and they were being stored in cd cases. These stamps that seemed to break down were the ones that are either the dollar ones from Target (really old brand) or I believe from the dollar store. But I believe that is the product not the way that I was storing them because none of the other stamps in the same cd case had an issue.

I will be checking the dvd cases every few months or so to make sure that they aren't showing signs of warping. I really am hoping for the best. I have stored some of my sets of stamps in the original packaging and some of the older sets were in original packaging that is simular to the cases.

I had a bunch of mine warp also. It didn't do it for all them, but maybe it was the cheaper clear stamps.
