I can't believe how expensive they are. Especially when you can get Dylusions and Colour Shine cheaper. Well Colour Shine is more expensive but not by much and you get 2oz!

That's crazy! They are only an once of liquid! $6 was nuts as is! Do you know how fast they go..I have quite a few and my mint one is my fav. But I have only used it here and there in small quantities and I'm almost out! I guess because there so popular they have to raise the price because they figure they could get away with it! HS color shine is twice the size for the same price.. I wish she would come out with more colors ones that are Matt too..

I am loving the Dylusions and I'm so glad I made the switch!

Hmm...I might have to look up youtube videos on how to make your own Huey's. I heard acrylic and water achieves a similar look. I've been enjoying Dylusions for the bright bold colors.

Well, I'm glad I don't really like the stuff. I got a couple of colors a while ago, but have recently decided I'll probably get HS more anyway.

|Posted: 3/18/2013 7:54:54 AM|wow, I've never bought that brand, but I can imagine how that will add up!
I started with Adirondack from Ranger way back in 2005, and love the stuff... It might have been the first mist on the market I think. Its 4oz I think for about $4! maybe 5$ by now (I've not run out yet). I could see myself using Dylusions too for the same reason
Other than that, I make my own if I want a pearly look or different from what I have. Heres a link incase you want to know. Its pretty comprehensive and goes over 3 different ways you can make it, but it is very easy. Make Your Own Color Mist

Wow! 6 dollars was a huge splurge and that extra 0.50 feels like a lot more money!
|Posted: 3/18/2013 8:32:48 AM|That is a lot, especially for the size of the bottle. I'm glad this isn't a must have product for me. I have a few and I use them because I have them but thankfully (and for once) I have no desire to build a stash of them.

And actually, since it's a liquid, that makes it over $400 a gallon! Talk about designer paint!

Seriously?! I thought it was expensive before!! That is awful. Studio Calico for ya I guess.
|Posted: 3/18/2013 9:54:18 AM|Wow, I didn't realize these were so expensive! I picked a few up on clearance, I think they were discontinued colors, and realized the other day I've used half of the powder blue already! I don't even feel like I've used it all that much, but I love how it looks on a page.

Where did you see that they went up? Both on 2peas and SC they are still $5.99.

I've experimented with making my own mists, and my favorite "recipe" so far is:
1 part acrylic paint
1 part rubbing alcohol
1 part Pledge brand "Future Floor Shine"
The Pledge Future Floor Shine is a mopping product that is commonly used as an acrylic medium to thin acrylic paint without reducing it's opacity.
The last time I was in an art supply store I noticed that they are now making colored india-type ink, so I think I will be buying some of those to try in mists as well.
