This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for April 2013. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

I realize that I'm about 4 days early, but I'll be away from my computer for a few days. I have closed the March thread, so post away on this one.

The link for all layouts that will be posted to this month's thread is HERE.

The link for last month's thread is HERE.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend as you celebrate Passover, Easter, or the hope of Spring coming after a long cold winter. Hugs to all of you.

Well NYLENE aren't you being the efficient one? We haven't gotten that organized on the CS thread, so if i have to, I'll post the blog link for the challenges. I need to do a call out for challenges today. Hopefully enough CS folks will respond given some are on FB more now.

Have a fantastic vacation, visiting Angie.

I'm grateful my eyes aren't worse than they are. The floaters are annoying but not harmful, and if the flashing lights go away it will be easier to drive at night again.

Now the teeth that's a whole 'nother issue. Still working on that one.
When your teeth go bad, it definitely puts a cramp in your style. and limits what you can eat too. LOL

Have a safe and fun trip, take lots of photos.

NYLENE don't worry about it, we'll get it handled.

Kids' concert was fantastic. I'm so amazed at what the music directors do at this school...over 600/900 kids are in one or the other music program...choices between 4 levels of band, 3 levels of jazz band, 4 levels of orchestra, vocal jazz, choir and marimba band. SOmething for everyone and top of the charts quality...every band has taken 1st or 2nd place in the music events around the state. Hard to believe it's 12-14 year olds playing. I'm so happy my boys have participated.

I'm pretty beat. So think I'll head off to bed myself.

Just a quick stop. I finished another page today. Finally---a DISNEY page! So I guess that's 4 photos down, 296 Disneyland photos to go.

Rootinest Tootinest Cowboy

Off to cook dinner and attend to a days worth of neglected housework. I won't be around much next week with my mom (Nylene) coming to visit. We're all very excited. My daughter has a long list of the things we'll do when grandparents and cousins come. Thankfully it's a simple list. Today she added: catch rolly pollies in the garden. And there will be a lot of paper crafting too.

Happy Spring to you all!

took the boys to church for an abridged version of Godspell for Good Friday services. I enjoyed it...their harmonies were great and the bits between the songs entertaining...the boys, not so much. They aren't into anything that isn't "today's music" but they tolerated it and now we're back home. Teens can be so narrowed-minded sometimes.

Busy weekend. Looks like we will have nice weather for it though.

Good morning Peas! I have to do some cleaning today since I am hosting Easter dinner tomorrow. The meal is under control, and eggs are colored. I hope to do some scrapping later today. The sun is shining and we are supposed to get to about 50 again today. Hurray-maybe Spring really is sneaking in here!

Pam-glad you got the email and your card. BTW I have a question. All of a sudden the birds are fighting over the suet feeder and completely rejecting the seed feeders. Is this normal? I thought I would ask you since you have watched them longer then I!

Nylene and Angie-I know you two are going to enjoy your visit! I also think Sammmie is going to get more from then anyone! Aren't those grandmothers wonderful.

Well I need to get started. BBL!

Hi everyone - Happy Easter weekend!

Nylene - you are such a good planner. Thanks for getting the new thread going. Hope you enjoy your trip. Sounds like you've got a host of things planned (and so does Sammie!).

Angie - I just loved your Disney layout. Totally adorable! Btw, your comment about how many left to go cracked me up. That's pretty much how I feel about ALL my pictures. I've been trying to do a little of our June anniversary trip. Hopefully, I'll finish that album soon then I can work on other stuff from YEARS ago. Have fun while your mom is visiting. Sounds like you'll have loads of fun. I especially loved this comment:

Today she added: catch rolly pollies in the garden.

So stinking adorable!

Debi - I'm so sorry to hear they haven't fixed your tooth problem. Hopefully soon. Sounds like you've been busy with all the boys and the music stuff. Probably won't be this weekend but try to get some rest.

Cindy - sounds like you have a fun and busy weekend planned. Coloring eggs and ice cream pops? Yes, please! Can I come over too! Btw, LOVE the photos with your new camera. Totally AWESOME! Wish I could get a DSLR. I've been taking more and more photos with my iphone.

Waving hello to all our Pokey Peas!

Well, hubby and I are going to try to get some chores done this weekend. Got to finish the laundry and then off to pull some weeds. Yuck. At least it's a beautiful day. It will be nice to be outside and household stuff has been neglected long enough.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Anne

Ok, just had to post again and share because I have had an AWESOME day so far today. Hubby and I went and had some yummy Mexican food for breakfast, planted some beautiful new succulents along the side of the house, and won tickets to P!nk on the radio today!! So excited! Ok, that's all. Had to share my fun news.

Thanks! BBL!

ANNE congrats on winning the PINK tickets. Nice way to start off the day.

It's sunny here today. A beautiful EASTER day. I think I may do some yardwork. Not my favorite thing, but it needs to be done. No big plans for today. Kids have some friends coming over for abit this afternoon, and we're doing ham for dinner but other than that, pretty quiet. I hear the boys stirring, so guess they will be getting up soon. It's 8:30 so they've sleep in an extra 2 hours this morning, probably because they stayed up to 11 last night. We went to the movie "the Impossible" about the 2004 tsunami. It was rather graphic, but I thought it was pretty well done...about a family(true story) on vacation who survived the tsunami. Natural disasters like this are just mind boggling.

Ok I'm off and running, well sauntering downstairs to wrestle up some breakfast at least.

Happy Easter, everyone! Not much going on for us since we don't have children and most of my family are now in located in the Pacific Northwest.

Thought I would pop in and post some links my projects I completed this month:

good reads

hello sunshine

the most beautiful things

life is good

epic fail

Btw, don't forget the digi sale ends today. Bought some items even though I don't know how to digi scrap. I'm afraid the items I've been eyeing will disappear forever if I don't get them now. I noticed the Photoshop Actions aren't on sale so hoping those make the redesign. I want to get those eventually, but since I don't have Photoshop, didn't see a reason to add them to my cart now. Don't forget to get your digi goodies and have a great weekend!

Just returned from our first camping/RVing trip of the year. One the way home I worked on these pages of our 2012 trips. I think I have two more to finish last year (2012). It is so fun to work on my pages while hubby drives us home. I hate coming home from our trips, the are so great. I sure with I had the money to retire so we could do this more often and for longer periods of time. I think I got some great photos and can't wait to start working on 2013 trips.

Happy Easter everyone.

Well plans changed. Mom called this morning asking if I'd come up for a bit. So I did. Now I'm home about ready to fix dinner. The boys' friends never showed; don't know why. It's 65 and sunny and beautiful today. I just want to sit outside and do nothing but soak in the sun.

The boys' friends called just as I started making dinner, so we kind of rushed eating so they could come over and have a bit of time in the park before the sun went down (they got here ~6:30 p.m.). LOL It all worked out.

We had a nice ham, shrimp salad, glazed apples and asparagus dinner. No mashed potatoes because I ran out of time, but we can do those some other time this week. We have a lot of ham left over so I'll need to cut it up for other uses to be able to eat it all. Looks like fried rice will be on the menu this week to my son's Noah's delight.

Teeth still giving me issues. I suppose til I either get them pulled or do a root canal, they won't stop hurting totally. Dang it anyway. Felt pretty good yesterday but woke me up in the middle of the night.

Owen woke up with a migraine this morning; first time ever he's awaken with one. usually sleep is what makes it go away. So he's home from school for now, but if it subsides he is planning on going in to school late.

Noah had a presentation in Japanese this morning so I'm glad he was able to go to school on time. Japanese is first period.

I hope I can mow the lawn before the rain hits, but it's looking a bit gloomy out there and I'm waiting to take Owen into school, hopefully.

Have a great Monday.

Good evening! I am really tired today after yesterday-too much on my feet. So I just stopped by to post a page I digi scrapped today while sitting! Glad to hear the travelers made it to their destination safe & sound.

Here's my page: Coloring Eggs

Thanks for looking! BB in the morning!

Good Morning! Hope everyone is doing well. I will have the grands all day today and tomorrow I think we are going to start our tomato plants from seed and they are going to help today. Maybe take a hike at the CVNP. The sun is shining , and if it warms up a little.

Deb-glad your tooth is a little better, but wish you could get it fixed. Just do not over do it.

Waving a big HI! to everyone-it is very quiet over here!!!

Happy April! We had a very nice Easter weekend. I cooked and the dinner turned out so good. We love cornbread dressing (like stuffing) so I wanted to try a new recipe. I found on on the Food Network website and it was so delicious!

I worked on some Easter pages and took some fun pics so I hope to work on them this week. Also, I am playing around with some cards too. So we'll see if this week I will get them finished. But having fun creating.

Yesterday was Ceser Chavez Day so my dh had it off too. So cool to have him home for a three day weekend. So we went over to our golf course and enjoyed the view. At one point we saw this playful squirrel that ran up the tree in front of us and looked us over. Then it wiggled around in the tree and played before it took off. So cute!

Anne- Wow, Pink tickets! That is so cool. I know you are going to have a great time. Also, glad you both enjoyed your Easter. It was just the two of us too. Movies, great food and total relaxing!

Angie- You did have a great time. I know family is going to enjoy their visit so much. Maybe since my crafting mom is in our great state it will energize me to get some fun crafting this week.

Maribeth- Camping by RV is what I would like to do. We passed by a RV store and they looked so fantastic and mordern. And I was telling my dh I would like to do that many for a weekend. Looks like so much fun. After hearing you talk about it I must try it sometime.

Cindy- Are the kids on Spring Break this week? Out here some kids are off this week and some I guess last week. Get some rest. You did have a busy weekend.

Nylene- Have a great time with "my family." I know you all will have fun making some fun crafts.

Debi- Hope you feel beter.

Hi Kelly...glad your weekend went so well.

I couldn't leave these 2 photos unscrapped, so finished the 2000 Easter pages.

Hello everyone!

Debi, it looks like you are the one keeping this thread bumped up all by yourself. Thought I would join in with a post just to say hi, and bump us back up. The pages you posted are great, I really, really like them. The Easter ones just shout spring/Easter and the band one is just way too cute.

I have a page or two in the works (but of course I will need to get some photos printed for them before I can post them), and one I completed, but I completed it in March and forgot to post it when I posted my camping pages. I will upload it and link it but I won't count it toward my April total to be fair. Also, I created a map page for my courthouse photos so I can keep track of which county courthouses I have left to get. I will post those as well, but I won't count them in my tally because technically they won't be complete until I get all of a states county courthouses (and that may take a while - LOL)

Hoping all you ladies are happy, and healthy.

well Maribeth, I try. Someone needs to keep the thread active and if that means I come on here and talk to myself, so be it. I mean, is it really that different than talking to my "imaginary friends?"

I had a very productive yet non-scrappy day today. The sun was out but it was cooler. I did manage to mow my weeds (also referred to as my lawn, but really, very little grass is involved); vacuumed out my car and cleaned out all the clutter (my oh my, it's amazing what you find that my boys have left in there); moved a ikea 9 cubed shelf that I got for free off of freecycle.com (geesh that thing is heavy even though it's on wheels-don't know if I'll manage to get it up to the 2nd floor as planned or not); vacuumed my downstairs, mopped my kitchen floor, washed down the woodwork in my living room and kitchen, swept the front porch, filled out an application for a CT position, participated in an online hour chat, got my kids off to school, and did 2 loads of laundry and picked up the boys' room, had guests from 3 pm - 9 pm, so made dinner and cleaned up afterwards and visited. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. I have a big day tomorrow too. Hope I have some energy left.

Feel good about getting stuff done, but heading off to bed.

Debi

Good Morning Peas! Sorry I have not been here for a couple of days-I have had the DGC as they are on Spring Break and they keep you hopping! I also had my last two lessons for this class and worked on them when I could. I did sign up for a self paced one called Blueprints to work on now. It has to do with using different angles.

Debi-Thanks for keeping us afloat the past few days-did not mean to leave you stranded. The pages you have posted are beautiful! I need to be doing my much needed photos-I am really behind after being sick for a year.

Maribeth-looking forward to seeing pages of your first camping trip of the year! I know they will be wonderful.

Kelly-waiting to see what you have been working on! You do such beautiful work-no matter which of your crafts you tend to showcase!

Pam-we are supposed to make the fifties here for the next week. The past 2 days have been beautiful but cold so I am looking forward to the warmer days. We have rain scheduled for the weekend though. I want to go for a walk down at the CVNP and practice with my camera!

Here are my two layouts for this weeks class. They are using filters and adding texture with paint brushes.

Fun at the Playground

and

Super Girl

Thanks for looking! BBL!

Ok girls, it's time to check in, even those of you on vacation. Drop by and let us know you are alive. We hope you get some scrapping time in but as you know, it's not a requirement. Just a gentle push in the right direction...every page done is a page done...LOL

Ok I'm up. I'm feeling ok...a little sore from all the activity yesterday and I'm wheesing a bit (may be the allergens from working outside yesterday and vacuuming (allergic to dust, molds and grasses). Going to hop in the shower, turn the water up really hot, and see if I can steam out my lungs. I know I'll feel better for it.

Got kids off to school, made lunches, cleaned up the kitchen...except I haven't done the morning dishes yet. Other than that, I've just checked email, and the threads. So I need to get myself moving. Weather is starting to turn, hope it stays dry til after the kids' frisbee practice.

Gotta clean out the refrigerator today...tomorrow is garbage day, recycle day and yardwaste day...time to get that stuff we won't eat from taking up space for stuff we will. Maybe I'll make some rice so I can make fried rice for dinner since I have a huge ham to use up. Guess I should cut it up and freeze some of it too so it doesn't get wasted. So much to do.

Do something on your TO DO list today then go play a little to reward yourself.

I am posting from my iPad and I'm not very good at it. But here goes...it's so nice here in No. Cal. I love all the green and the blooming flowers. It's so much prettier than dirty snow!!

I love all your layouts but can't praise until I get home. Maribeth, the 4 layouts a month are just a suggestion....post one or 20. This is a no pressure, have fun, encouragement challenge!

Cindy, will you have the grands all week foe Spring Break? You will have lots of models for that new camera!

Kelly, we are sending lots if crafty vibes toward the southern end of the state. Hope you are getting them. Angie's Samantha taught her cousins to do plastic canvas lacing yesterday. The kids are crafting and the adults are visiting. We are planning to visit the Pixar studio today.

I dread the long ride home, but we have had a great time together.

Debi, sounds like you are feeling better. Hope the tooth is getting better. Love your pages.

Pam, someday I'd love to go antiquing with you. I'll bet you know all the good places. So nice that you have a group of friends to go with.

Well, I'd better quit before I somehow lose this post. I'll be back on the thread next week!

Nice to see you NYLENE. Hope Angie and the family treated you well. When do you head back home? Maybe the snow will be gone...maybe?

Ok I just spent the last hour cleaning my refrigerator, taking out the garbage, yardwaste and recycle, preparing veggies for 3 diffent meals and making rice for tonight's fried rice. Works better to cook and let it cool. And of course doing dishes. Can't believe it took me that long. But now my little break is over and I need to tackle some of that paper mountain in my dining room before picking up the boys from practice--it's raining today so won't make them trudge home. Aren't a good mom? LOL

OK I had hoped to start a page, but 15 minutes wasn't enough time to read email and the threads AND start scrapping. Oh well maybe the next break.

Hi Ladies,

Sorry that I've been MIA, but was bitten on my left hand by a dog. Since I'm left-handed, it's too long a story to tell typing with one finger.
I did want to try to catch up on praise though. Right now, there's no scrapping or card making going on here.

Hello all

Nylene,so glad you are enjoying the family and beauty out there. I imagine that it is a photographers paradise too. Have fun!!

Java Girl, take care of that dog bite, those are so dangerous!!

Cindy, sounds like you have been busy with the grands, after a couple days, you will need a "spring Break",lol. Warming here as well, and the garden/yard work is calling. It starts today and I have too much on my list. It will be lovely to be out in it for a while, though.

Quiet here this week, kind of nice to not have appts etc for a change.
I am such a home body,, but it makes me real happy just to be home.

Update on the lens: The store contacted me and recommended that I have a filter pre installed to avoid distortion from the sun,so I said sure... it was priced minimally to do so,so it will be here Tuesday. I am not very patient when it comes to my toys and I am tired of waiting, lol

Well, off to the list, and if I am able to crawl back inside when done,I may scrap some after my shower.

Soon Come pam

Hi to all of you, hope you have a sunny day!!

PAM hope your new lens comes soon.

LINDA ouch! be extra careful about infection.

Here's a LO from me. Only had a photo of a photo to work with so made it look more vintage to make up for the poor quality.

2012 Band Festival

I've played enough, guess I need to do some house work.

LINDA glad your hand is improving. So how did it happen that you got bitten?

I'm not sure I got 4 hrs last night, but maybe I'll grab a nap later today. No time now though.

My inflammation seems to be up today too, hands are quite swollen and hip is aching...maybe allergies are adding to the problem. Always something isn't it?

I think I'll go eat and do a little organizing of my paperwork, now that I have it all sorted in piles on my dining room table...ack!

Hi Girls! Hope you are having a great weekend! I went walking yesterday at CVNP. Got pics of some baby turtles sunning themselves on a log, and either a young muskrat or beaver. He was in a big hurry and went into the water before I could find out.
I started a new class -this one s self-paced so did a page for it today. It is called Blueprints and teaches the angles of Photoshop. Here's the page I did today:

Celebrate U.

Linda-sorry to hear your not sleeping -I went thru that at one time. Still do it now & then. Wish I knew the cure!

Debi-sure wish they could get you under control a little better. It probably does not help with the weather changes.

Waving a big HI to everyone. See ya later!

Hugs, Cindy

Happy Saturday! We are having a very relaxing day today. I have been working on a few layouts with our Easter pics. I got off to a good start but feeling a little stuck now. But I hope to get some good ideas today.

Linda- Ouch! I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Take care!

Debi- Hope you feel better, too.

Cindy- Those tuttle sound so cute! Can't wait to see your pics. Plus that nature walk sounds so relaxing. Also, you are getting so good at this digi work. The classes you are taking are really paying off with fab layouts. I definately want to try some digi down the road.

Nylene- SO glad you are having a ball with "our family." I got your craft breeze you sent me and I might need some more! Have a safe trip back home, too.

Waving hi to all you sweetpeas!

Thanks Kelly, I'm working on it.

Boys played Ultimate Frisbee tonight. Just as the game started we had a cloudburst, hard rain, and hail and wind...so everyone was cold and soaked. Fortunately it only lasted through the first point and then the rain let up. The wind was a bit tricky though. Our team won. First time this year. It was a good, and close game. I was happy to come back home into a warm house though.

Did a speedscrap tonight. A little challenging as I needed to use product from that website store and I don't have a lot of it, but here's what I came up with.
Believe in Yourself

Good morning ladies! Hope all is well with all of you! I am in slo-mo this morning! Going to be working in my scraproom today. Had to re-arrange some furniture in there so now I have a mess! I had my new desktop computer in front of the window. When you have a 21.5 inch monitor and put it in front of a window you get a lot of brightness on the screen, and can not see what you are doing very well. I was going to get an anti-glare screen but decided to try moving it first. Wow what a difference. It is perfect. So saved money, but now have to rearrange things in there.

It is warm here-60 but very windy so still chilly. No working outdoors today. We are supposed to get some rain also.

Nylene-Hope you made it home safe & sound.

Angie-Missing Mom yet???? I know the kids enjoyed your visitors!

Linda-hope you hand is doing better. How did you get bit?

Maribeth-Where are those layouts from your camping trip?????

Kelly-glad to hear you are working on some scrapbook pages. Can't wait to see them!

Well I guess I better get in there and clean up that mess so maybe I can scrap later! I like Nylene love to scrap when that room is cleaned and I have re-found pretty supplies!

BBL!

Good Morning ladies.

Cindy - Oh they will be a while. I hope to get the photos sent off to the printer today. I may get a change to get the layouts completed, and if I do then when the photos come in I will assemble and post. I have to spend most of the day getting the house spruced up for my sister's visit. She is coming from Iowa next week. It has been about a year since I have seen her. Then the following weekend we are off again on another RV/Camping trip. So fitting scrapbooking in well be a challenge for me this month, but I will do what I can.

Shout out to all the other Pokey's - Have a wonderful day.

Hi Cindy, Maribeth...and waving madly at the rest of you.

Cold, wet and drizzly here. No motivation to crawl out from the heated throw other than I'm hungry. Guess I need to get up and get moving to get something done. Mom wants me to come visit but I think I'll pass today as it's so nasty outside. I really don't enjoy driving in the rain and that's a 2 hr round-trip. Hope she understands.

Made brownies yesterday and I think there may be one or two left. Didn't last long. LOL Maybe I'll make some rice krispie bars today.

Off to start the crockpot. Think I'll make a roast.

Have a productive day and take care.
