Hi, Barb. It's nice to see you popping by. I try to catch your layouts from the Challenge grouping of Pokey Peas layouts, but I know I have missed some.

Linda, I'm so sorry about your dog bite. Didn't that dog know that you're the biggest dog lover around??? Shame on him. Glad it's looking better. Watch for infection. We saw some nasty bites in our office.

Pam, any sign of Sly lately? Does he come to the door and meow? I think he's got a pretty easy life at your home.

Debi, I'm glad your mouth is better. If the weather would warm up I'm sure the RA would be more easily tolerated too. Hang in there....summer is coming!

I haven't praised all the layouts posted above, but I'm working on it. I'll come back to chat later tonight.

Sorry I have been MIA. Seems like I always come here to apologize

Life is good here in NE Florida. We were busy over Spring Break, and now my In laws are visiting. I am trying to be a good DIL, but I am sure my MIL was sent to try me They have gone to the County fair with DH and DD today, so me and DS are having quiet time at home. My DS needs days off from stuff just like his Mummy
I have no pages to share, since no scrapping has occurred here since Feb But I have been crafty in other ways with sewing and yarn based projects I am hoping to do some clothes sewing after my in laws have gone home, and I am anxious to get a quilt top started
The wanderers have just returned, so I will love you and leave you xxx

SARAH nice to grab a moment to come and say "hello." I hear you on the inlaws...nice to see them, but any long term time together can be tedious. Even more so now that i'm divorced, my ex-in-laws have become a bit unsufferable, but I smile and tolerate them when our paths cross for the boys' sake and am grateful they don't pass often any more. Sad, really, as we got on swimmingly when I was married. Oh how tides can turn.

NYLENE my medical difficulties just seem to cycle...mouth, RA, and today a nasty headache (could be brought on by allergies or my teeth). They are still causing me problems but not sure what to do about them. Will have to decide soon.

You are right, when the weather is flipflopping around between seasons is when it's the worse for my RA. I have to admit I prefer hot and sunny weather over anything. Why I choose to stay in raining Washington is a mystery to me...although it is gorgeous here. And even more so when the sun shines.

Been scrapping some today. Maybe I'll take a nap and do some more later.

Sarah, it's so nice to see you. I think of you often as I chat with my little Cub Scout from England. I just love his accent. (He gets so tired of hearing that! From everyone!)

I have to tell you that we had a wonderful trip to Calif. and a great visit with Angie and family. It rained some while we were there, but only when we were doing inside things. We visited a bounce house, Tilden Park, The Little Farm, the beach with tide pools, and had a guided tour of Pixar Studios. In our spare time we sat and visited and let the children have a fun time with cousins. It was a long ride, but baby Alex was a good traveler. So thanks, Angie, for your wonderful hospitality.

Kelly, you have peamail from me! I hope you got a bit more of the mojo we were sending to you. We sent a little every day. Can't wait to see your Easter pages.

Cindy, I love your coloring eggs page, plus all the others. Your grands are going to love you many years after you are gone when they relive so much of their childhood through your beautiful pages. What a marvelous gift that is to them. Your walks through the parks sound so nice. I have come home to forecasts of snow tonight.

Anne, it sounds like you had a great weekend. Winning tickets is a great event! Thanks for linking all your layouts. They are too pretty to be missed! And BTW, we never got around to catching rollie pollies in the garden....it was just too wet!

Linda, how did the yard sale go? Were you able to hold it? I wish I lived closer and I'd have begged to attend your Stampin Up party. I haven't been to one for ages.

I know there were lots of other things I was going to comment on, but I don't remember at the moment. I did finish a layout just before we left, but didn't get it posted. Here it is:

Our Beautiful Megan

I hope you all have a wonderful week and get a bit of scrappiness in there too.

Hello, Pokeys! Hope you had a great weekend! Wow, a lot seems to go on when I only pop in once a week.

Nylene - So glad you had a great time visiting with Angie and the grandkids. Sounds like you had a great time. Can't wait to see all your photos and layouts. I'm excited to hear about your Pixar Studios visit.

Angie - I can't wait to see all your pics and layouts from your perspective, as well as the kids, of Nylene and her visit.

Kelly - I can't wait to see all your crafty projects! I love making cards too!

Cindy - What/where is CVNP? I would love to see turtles sunning themselves. How cool! When we were scuba diving in HI, we saw some giant see turtles. It was amazing!

Linda - Wow, I hope you've been able to get more sleep. I would not be able to function on 4 hours of sleep. As a dog owner, I am so sorry to hear that you were bitten. Are you alright? I hope the dog was up to date on his rabies shots. Please keep us posted.

Debi - Hope your tooth issue has finally been resolved.

Gotta clean out the refrigerator today...tomorrow is garbage day, recycle day and yardwaste day...time to get that stuff we won't eat from taking up space for stuff we will.

Dh and I feel the same. Trash day is Friday for us so we've decided Thursday will be "eat leftovers and throw out the rest" day.

Maribeth - I loved seeing all your RV trip pictures. Dh recently went dirt biking with friends and they had a mobil home (not quite the same), but he had a lot of fun. We would love to rent a RV one day and go touring.

Pam - ohhhh, how exciting! Your new lens will be here in 2 days! I can't wait to see all your amazing pictures. I so wish I could get a DSLR, but probably won't happen any time soon. We have so many other things we need to do.

Sarah - Glad you were able to pop in. I know what you mean about in-laws (father-in-law and stepmother-in-law). A couple years ago, we went to HI for a wedding and to visit them. We stayed with them for 2 weeks. We needed some "alone" time but it was tough finding and getting time away just for us. Hope you're managing to find scraps of time for just you and your family.

Got some exercise today. Dh and I cycled to breakfast and back. Also planted my strawberry jar with herbs. So excited! I usually have a black thumb so crossing my fingers they survive. It will be so nice to be able to add fresh herbs to our meals.

Got a layout done last weekend but only just getting around to posting it. Forgot to take pics of the card. Will have to add that later. Slowly making progress on my 2012 Mexico anniversary trip.

hello nature

I'm training a class at work for another 3 weeks so postings will most likely be few and far between. Have a wonderful week, everyone!

Good Morning,

I can't wait to look at the pages you all posted since my last post. Busy weekend with grandduaghter's soccer and car switching so hubby could work on sons brakes (boy those kids needed brakes, we shall have to watch them more closely in the future?. Now I will need to spend this week (after work) getting the house spruced up for my sisters visit. I did get to work on a few pages (which are ready for photos), designing a new template for my next project "State Parks that I have visited"., and worked on a few more that are in "the in progress" stage. I did not get a chance to send my photos to be printed, hopefully I can squeeze that in one evening this week so I can be sure to have them for the RV/camping trip on the 19&20th.

My guilty pleasure this weekend was watching the General Hospital marathon on the soap channel. I loved watching episodes from the 70's 80's and 90's. I watched the very first episode on YouTube. I started watching that show with my Aunt and Grandmother (Nanny) when I was very young, and I remember those early characters. It is amazing that show has been on 50 years.

Well it is Monday and back to work (that is where I am typing from). My body is here, but my heart and mind are at home in my scraproom so wanting to work on my pages. But, I can't wish my life a way, so I will try a little "whistle while you work" attitude and enjoy my day, and look forward to more scrapping soon.

Fellow Pokeys, I hope all of yo have a wonderful Monday!

MARIBETH I didn't know they had a GH marathon happening...I would have loved to watch that. I'm a die-hard GH fan. But I don't get the soap channel, not even sure which channel that is...LOL

Muddled through the weekend, starting a new week with new goals.

Wow. I have a lot of catching up to do.
Here's a page that I just made over the weekend. It was inspired by a scraplift train that Debi started over on the digi forum.

Here is it: Just one morning of fun at the beach last week.
Spring Break

My husband ordered a tablet for the computer to do his 3D modeling but he told me it would be good for scrapbooking too. (See how he sells it to me before he buys? Smart man. ) I'm slow as can be on it so this page took a lot longer than it should have.

I'll come back later and try to catch up. Waves for now.

Hey girls! It is a windy and sunny day here. I love the wind and how it clears the air. So pretty today. It would be a fun day for a kite. We had a nice weekend and I worked on my Easter layouts. I finished two but the third one needs a title so I am thinking about it. I will share soon.

Nylene- Yes, I did get the peamail. So glad you all had a great time with Angie, too. That Pixar tour sounds fun. How was it?

Angie- I am sure you will get the hang of it.

Anne- Good to see you. Hang in there with that busy schedule.

Cindy- Have you recovered from Easter and Spring Break yet? What a fun time you had.

Hi ladies! Hope all is well with everyone! I am doing ok. Need to be scrapping! I did my room somewhat back together.

Anne- CVNP is Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It is about 10 minute car ride from my home. I runs from Akron Ohio up to Cleveland There are towpaths for running and biking, and there are more rugged trails also. It is the third most visited park in the national park system-how they figure that I do not know. But we love to go walking there.

Sarah-we have missed you! Nice to hear you have visitors from home! How are you feeling?

Kelly-yes I am recovered but I fond other ways to wear myself out.

Nylene- How much snow are you getting? I saw on the news that there is a severe storm in your area.

BBL!

Hugs, Cindy

Hello Nylene, Debbie, LInda and other pokey pea names I recognize. I think I may hang out here a little if it is ok with you. I've been thinking this is a good challenge for me. Just do 4 layouts of any kind. Gonna try it!

We are getting ready for some snow. Could be a lot. It is already blowing but no snow yet.

I'll check out your work and hopefully learn some the rest of your names.

Hi Melanie. Nice to see you over here too. No pressure just encouragement. How's the store prep coming? when do you open?

ANGIE thanks for playing along in the Scraptrain Challenge. Isn't it fun? I love to scraplift, makes deciding what to do so much quicker.

Good morning,we are trying out spring weather here and so far,so good.
Yesterday about 66 degrees with sprinkles all day. Today sprinkles with intermittent sun, warm enough for a sweater.

Well,Steve and I installed the new clothes line stuff over the week end, just waiting for the concrete to cure, then I will be back in business. Working on the spring pond cleanup and all the fish are active and well.... lots bigger too. I have some cosmetic work with the edging and they will be good to go. I fed them Saturday for their first feeding of the year and they were all happy. Today, had coffee on the back deck, until the sprinkles chased me inside.I was trying out the new lens, only got a few shots though.. Now that I am back inside, the sprinkles have ceased.... hmmmm.

Nylene, sounds like you and Angie had a great time... Sounds like you took in quite a few sites too. When Angie posts pictures of those cuties,I always smile and marvel at how darned cute they are.

Cindy, what park did I visit near Holmes County?? It was a large area, had covered bridges and my bff and I walked the largest covered bridge,it is only open to Amish and foot traffic. It was beautiful and I think it was fairly close to your region.

Maribeth, your brakes story reminds me of the dd's children, their dad is always changing tires, oil, brakes etc for them since they all put so many miles on their vehicles going to and from work, college etc. I always tell him that he should open a "garage".They are so luck that he can do all that, and I know it's always his gift to them.

Well, I am still enthralled with the Tv trial and it is still dragging on and still keeps me watching.. I hope it ends soon and I can return from captivity to a more productive life, lol.

Hello to our newcomer,Mel hope you enjoy it around here,it's always lots of fun, with no pressure!!

Well I have been super windy,I hope you smile all day. Soon come pam

So those of you who are interested in what I've been scrapping I'm linking you to the Digital Board's Scraptrain challenge thread where I posted my 8 LOs at the end of the thread, but don't just jump there; stop and look at the amazing LOs everyone else did. And maybe next time you'll come join in, but I'm not promising I'll scrap everyone then...LOL

SCRAPTRAIN THREAD--come see the amazing LOs

weather is predicted to be dry in the morning and start raining about the time the boys let out from school and head to the park for frisbee practice. I hate that everything gets so wet. I sent plastic bags for their backpacks and shoes but that doesn't mean they will use them.

Did not sleep well. Don't know why, but woke up groggy, stuffed up, and achy this morning. Hoping to hop into the shower (a really hot one) and see if I can shake the fuzz out.

Munching on some ham and some blackberry yogurt for breakfast. Already drank my tea.

My challenge to you (and ME) is to do something today that you've been putting off, avoiding or ignoring for awhile. It will make you feel better and take a hidden burden off your mind.

Debi

Debi, your scraplift train looks like fun. I need to find some scrapping time soon. What a fun thing to start. Maybe I can get myself in gear and join in the next one. Oh, I didn't notice if it had to be digital.

Angie, I love your page about the beach. Just noticed that there is one person missing from the photos...you! I have some of you, so we'll have to share. It's nice to be home, but I miss you guys.

Melanie, of course you are welcome here. So nice to see your avatar pop up. I'm sorry you are getting snow. It is snowing just 7 miles south of us, but so far we have just big winds (which I absolutely hate!!)
and cold and a few flakes. Not sure if it missed us,or is still coming.
Are you ready to open your shop when the snow leaves?

My sisters and I and 2 cousins visited with my 89-year old auntie yesterday. She was less forgetful and told us so much about her growing up years and about our mom and our grandparents. I loved every minute of it except the 3 hour drive both ways in pouring rain.

Pam, I missed more than a week of the trial, and am just getting caught up with the highlights. I'm hoping it ends soon. It just goes on and on! Glad you got your pond spruced up and the clothesline in. I love line-dried sheets! I had a clothesline once, but it's long gone.

Kelly, I'm hoping to see some crafting being posted by you. Are you still doing some sketching? I hope you are feeling well. Sounds like the weather there is nice. I thought of you every time we saw palm trees. The granddaughters called out from the back seat each time they saw palms. It was fun to see so many. They are so foreign to this part of Utah!!

Maribeth, how wonderful that your DH can help your children with car issues. DH has always done that with our kids, but the cars are becoming so computerized and sophisticated, that there are a lot of things he can't fix. Tires, brakes, oil, etc. are still OK! Can't wait to see your next group of photos scrapped and to see your new template.

Anne, I always love reading your posts. You are so upbeat and happy. I was thinking your work had something to do with taxes so this was your busy season, but now I think that's wrong. You'll have to fill me in on what you do. Love your scrapping style. I have a lot of your layouts in my bookmarks.

Cindy, my friend, how I wish I could come walking in the parks with you. I know I wouldn't be able to keep up with you, but I'd love being there with you. How far do you have to go to get to the CVNP? Scrap lots of photos so I can experience it vicariously.

I'm waving at ALL of the Pokey Peas and I know if I list them I'll forget someone. Please drop in when time allows, even if it's just once in a while. Hugs to all.

Good morning ladies! Hope all is well. It is a beautiful day here again today-up in the high 60's. The sun is shining and I should be outdoors doing some work, but I am in scrapping.

Melanie-nice to see you stopping by and as Nylene said you are very welcome here.

Nylene- the CVNP is 3-5 miles from my house. There are numerous places you can go there-some with smooth pathways, and then the more rugged. The herons all nest down there, and they have been spotting bald eagles too. I saw a rusty blackbird the other day but I was not fast enough to get it's photo!

Kelly-here is your layout of the baby turtles and a mama.

Here's my link, and need to run-BBL

Hey all! Hope you are having a great day. Mine is going fine so far and hope to get out and enjoy this weather. Here is one of the layouts I did using some pics from Easter. I just remembered I didn't journal on it so I gotta added that. (thought something was missing. lol!)

Together 4 Ever

Melanie- WELCOME! Looking forward to seeing you around.

Nylene- Yes, I am still doing soome drawing here and there. So, I am practicing and also, wanting to try some more painting. I watched some of a video yesterday and hope to try it soon.

Cindy- That trail sounds so beautiful. I wish I could walk with you, too. Oh, and those turtles are so adorable. What a great shot you got of them too. I took a pic of the little squirrel I saw and it didn't come out clear. Maybe because he was wiggling around and having fun.

Pam- As soon as I read clothes line, it took me back. I remember when I was a kid and my mom hung the sheets on the line. I vaguely remember running around between them and having fun. Awww, the good ole days.

Just stopped by to check in and I realized I missed Pam's entry for today. It was beautiful here today. They just closed a road in the CVNP as the road is covered with migrating salamanders and frogs. Can you imagine????

Pam-I think the park you are talking about is either Mohican or Salt Fork State Parks. I would say it is Mohican.

Debi-thanks for the link I am going to check it out.

Oh BTW I found out after I posted my page that the small turtles are probably painted turtles and the large one is an alligator snapping turtle. I know my DH said the big would could easily take off someones finger.

OK BBL!

There is no prize for this challenge. It is just to encourage you to keep scrapping and to make new on line friends.

Hello girls

Well,I now know how to make it rain immediately= I just go out with a rake or clippers or trimmers, into the yard and poof, there is rain, lol. Yes,I am getting the spring work done... 30 minutes at a time..

Nylene, how nice to visit your Auntie on such a good day for her. All of my aunts are passed, but I used to love to visit them and hear their stories. One of my aunts was a piano teacher so needless to say,she gave me lessons at an early age and continued to play piano all her life. Good memories.

Cindy, you know you are a photographer when even the turtles get into your scrapbooks, lol. Isn't it the most fun, though!!

Kelly,I usually don't think of your air quality but when you mentioned it clearing a bit,I thought, that probably effects photos too. You still have amazing weather and the beautiful sea so I guess there is always a trade-off. I would think the fog coming over the bridge in SF would be awesome to get shots of. Maybe I will make a trip out there, lol.

Well,as the sprinkles continue and the grass awakens,I am inside looking out..... Soon Come pam

Happy day to all of you!!

PAM had to laugh at your "how to make it rain" comment, bbut around here all you need to do is look outside...no gardening implements needed. LOL

Letting the boys sleep in this morning as they have an orthodontics appoint at 9:30. I was going to make them go to school and do their first class (Japaneses) but they are just doing Haiku writing today so I'll give them a break and let them miss today's class.

They have a friend coming over after school (one they made in elementary school but who goes to a different middle school) and I have an appointment at 3 p.m. so a day broken up with stuff to do.

The last few nights I'm not waking up feeling rested. Wonder what that's about.

Ok off to make lunches and start our day,

Debi

Hi Melanie and welcome to the other side. There is no pressure here at all. If you can't get 4 pages done, then don't worry about it. Just do what you can do.

MIZAREN no time like the present; feel free to jump in and chat with us and show us what projects you are working on. It's always nice to share with others and get comments back. I see you just joined 2peas so kudos to you for jumping in and checking out the threads. it took me years of lurking in the gallery before I even approached the threads. And although it is nice to win prizes, I consider the friendships here to be the biggest prize. Afterall we scrap for outselves but it's always fun to share with others.

Kids are back from the orthodontist. Excellent report for Noah on cleaning his teeth and a "very good" for Owen--the best we've done so far. Personally I don't think if Owen spent every waking moment brushing his teeth he'd ever get it perfect but he's trying.

Now I'm drinking tea and sitting a minute under the heated throw to warm up (house is a brisk 61 degrees); it's 54 and showering outside.

Once my brownie and tea are gone, I need to toss a load in the washer and tackle more paperwork....and phone calls....

I am sending some of this sunshine to you all. It was been so pretty the last week days. Do you feel the warm rays yet?

So glad you all liked the weaved lo. I did paint the paper a while ago and was glad to find a use for it all. I just love painting my own paper. Here are the other Easter layouts I did. I just loved using all that glitter. I guess I love a lot of things today!

Just checking in today and leaving a few comments on layouts.

Melanie, did you get snow where you are at? My mom said the Dakotas were supposed to get hit with another big snow storm. Here in Iowa, we have a 50% chance of snow and rain tomorrow and I just can't believe that snow is in the forecast for the middle of April. I am so tired of snow and cold and ready for flip flops/short sleeve weather!

Well, I think tonight DH and I will be going to the hardware store to pick paint colors so we can repaint the boys bedroom in the house we are renting...the landlord told us when we moved in we could repaint and charge it on his account. The room the boys ended up in is currently pink and it was a terrible paint job as well. Maybe sometime you will see some pictures scrapped of the boys in their pink bedroom...lol! But I try to avoid taking pictures in their room.

On the weekend DH and some of the kids will be going down to our house to do more cleaning inside since we have someone who wants to look at it that might be interested in buying. Sure wish we could get the place sold so we can quit making mortgage AND rent payments.

Have a great day, what's left of it, everyone!

Here is one from me!

Sisters are Forever

Thanks for the welcome - I appreciate it. Yes, I am in South Dakota and YES we have got snow. Heavy Wet Snow which we needed for the moisture, but I'm not happy about it ruining my plans for the week. It could have waited a few days, right? I would say we have about 12-13 inches and supposed to get 5 more yet overnight. We had NONE left before this started. Oh Well, I guess I got to scrap this page because of it.

Good damp morning from Ohio!! Well, the rains really arrived and we were drenched. It rained so hard that the creek overflowed into the lane and I think I saw a bird go by in a canoe!!lol. The grass is much taller this am and extremely green.

Mel,how late will your snow linger? I'll bet you have some beautiful terrain to photograph, though. I am sending warmer air your way,lol

Hi Jen,how are you feeling? Are you still in limbo about your illness? I hope you find some resolution with less worry soon. hugs to you!!

Debikins, hope your science fair project is moving along. Those memories are not too distant,I have had the pleasure of two generations of that mind stimulation and I am getting a break this year. Jacob so far has nothing comparable in college and Christopher is finished so ...... I was always amazed at the ideas that they came up with. My daughter had some of the same views as I am hearing from you. Good luck!!

Well, the fish are active, still waiting for the weather to do some of the pond repairs, they love the rain!!

Today will be some odd chores inside due to the weather and a quick trip to the market for a couple items. Oh and Nylene, the trial continues. I am not sure that I ever want to get involved watching another,it is too time consuming. Although,I could just walk away,lol..

Hello,Knutschen,Sarahyoo and all the other pokeys that are so busy right now

Anne,if you stop by I will give you all the herb starts that you could possibly need. I have grown herbs inside and out for many years for cooking and potpourri and I would be glad to share.

Soon come pam

Hi to all my favorite peas! Not much going on with me today. I did get a page scrapped-this one is traditional. It is of my younger sister and I. She's eight years younger then I. She also looks like my mom and I look more like my maternal grandmother.

Pam-we got the storms yesterday too. The temperature is about 20 degrees cooler then yesterday too. And it is all overcast today. Sorry I missed that bird in the canoe!

Jen-good to see you GF! How are you feeling?

Barb-nice seeing you. Stop by when you have a minute and say Hi!

Ok gonna close for now-here's the link to my page!

Now that's an idea...a bird in a canoe...the birds could definitely use that around here. Maybe they will evolve to constructing canoes instead of nests...LOL

Now that I am finished with those Easter pages, I have Mother's Day cards on my mind. I got some pp a while ago and still playing around with it on what I hope will be Mom's Day cards. I still not sure about this paper and hope I can find a better option. Geez! I want to make cards but these pp I am seeing are just not working for me.

Melanie- I had a pink room when I was little. I know your boys will be happy to get into another color though. But I still love pink.

Pam- Remember "April showers bring May flowers!" But I know how you feel. The rain does put a damper on things especially when you want to be outside.

Cindy- Alright for baby sisters! I am one, too. My sis is about 14 or 15 years older than me. SO I really am the baby. I really like the layout you did too. I left a comment on your blog if the two of you were "double trouble."

Debi- What do you do with your digi pages? Do you ever print them out or just leave them on your computer? THey are all so lovely I was wondering if you frame them.

Linda- How are you feeling?

Hey gals,

My inlaws have left the building Back to normal again now, and I have spent the day cheerfully unpacking all my craft stuff that I had to take out of the guest room/craft room for their visit

Melanie, welcome I think I recognise you from the Heritage challenge, am I right? Or maybe I am mistaking you for someone else, which is quite a possibility.

I really hope the weather picks up for those experiencing less than spring like weather. The temps have really ramped up this week - in the mid 80s most days - and the humidity is creeping up again too. We are expecting thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, so hopefully they will be shortlived.

I am hoping to get some scrapping done in the next week or so, or at least some sort of crafting. DD has been doing extra rehearsals for a talent show she is in at school tomorrow night, and then Saturday is her 14th birthday She is having 3 friends over to go roller skating, have pizza and then sleepover. They both have the FCAT standardised tests all next week, and DS has them into the week after that. They are as ready as they are ever going to be, especially as they haven't encountered this kind of testing before So we are trying for a chilled Sunday, and a calm-ish week...

I've been reading all of your posts. Getting to know everyone. I think I'm going to enjoy this group

Yes, I used to be in charge of the Heritage Challenge. We just kind of ran out of steam. I still do a lot of Heritage pages and they are still my favorite type of pages to scrap. I love family history.

We have had 3 days of snow now. Today not so bad. I think it will start melting tomorrow. Next week colder than normal so I'm thinking this snow will be around a few weeks anyway.

For those of you who don't know me, my husband and I own an operate an antiques business. We are seasonal and planning to open on the 25th of this month. This weather has seriously put us behind schedule! The building has no heat and we just can't work in there when it is this cold. It will all get done but our first days will just have to be a little less organized.

I think I'm going to do a little scrapping tonight.....better get going!

KELLY I have printed some of my layouts, but the plan (or hope) was that I'd actually finish a whole year and be able to print books. Since I have so many LOs books might take up less room than albums but I may have to decide whether to print in a smaller size (8x8); currently I've printed a few in 12x12 since that was the size I had paperscrapped in. No, I've never framed any. But I'm glad you enjoy looking at my pages. So for now they are on my computer ordered by the date of the event represented in the page, so at least that part is chronological and I now have them backed up online too so I don't lose them if I have computer issues (as I lost over 500 LOs a few years ago). In the meantime I just keep on scrapping on. Kind of an obsession isn't it?

SARAH you survived the onslaw of inlaws and now you've got your scrapping space back. It's a good day.

MELANIE does not having heat in the store bother your customers? Or is it usually so warm by then it's not an issue?

Well the boys are hounding me for dinner. Who's idea was it that kids have to eat every day, several times? Geesh... so I'll catch you all later.

Sorry ladies, have not been on much lately. In a funk again. Having a absolutely horrible time trying to get my photos in order on the computer. The program I use Creative Memories Memory Manager uses a very strange file system and it is nearly impossible to find the photos from the computer, you have to be in the program, and then I find out, that when I x-fered my photos over from the old computer a couple of months ago it appears that some did not make it into the Memory Manger Program. They are in the file folders, but not showing up in the program It is driving me absolutely batty. So I tried to work outside of the program by doing a search on all of my jpg files and by doing that I find that I have so many duplicates of photos on the computer it is unbelievable, so I started to delete them, and then realized I was deleting the originals in some instances and retaining copies that were used other places, like say within my digital software program - I am not a happy camper right now. The photos are not gone, as I still have them on the old computer, but I am at a loss of what to do know, If I bring another set of all the jpgs in again from the old computer, I am going to create even more duplicates. My brain is officially fried.

On a better note - I get to visit with my sister this weekend, she is in for a visit from Iowa. Have not seen here in about a year. She is very close with my son and my granddaughters so she will be going to soccer with us Saturday and then granddaugther's birthday is on Sunday. It will be a nice visit. I have my second Copic class at the LSS this Saturday morning as well. Then at the end of our visit Sunday evening I will be getting the RV ready to go for next weekends camping trip. I have to be sure to order photos so I get them in time to take with me to put pages together while camping. Then whey I return I will be sure to post all of the pages. I learned a new technique on my Pazzles cutting machine (thanks to Klo's Sunday evening classes) and I am excited to use my new design template for yet another one of my projects - "State Parks" that we have been to.

Have an absolutely wonderful Friday and a terrific weekend ladies.

Good morning.... hope your day is fun and filled with laughter.

Working on some repairs and fix-its today, just small but numerous. The kind where when you finish, everything in the house is in disarray.

Cooler and rain continues... the spring flowers are popping open daily. Today I noticed that the magnolia on the south side is opening and it is always so beautiful. Lots of hyacinths emerging in flower this week and the lilacs are opening their buds too. Super exciting isn't it?

Limited photo ops thus far with the new lens, but I think it is going to serve me well. Lots of experimentation needed, lol!

I had a visit last pm with Ruby JO and dd... she is so super cute and grows so much in between visits. She now fakes a cough if you play along, then giggles right after you join her. What a wonderful gift she is.

Well back to the chores, hope to scrap this week-end.... it will be trial free days, lol.

Soon Come pam

MARIBETH I feel for you and your photo issues. Seems I'm always recategorizing, renaming stuff. As for PSE I don't use the Organizer, but I suggest you ask your question over on the digital board. There have been people in the past who do use it and like it. I have all my photos in folders labeled by date and topic....(i.e. 2013-0214 Valentines Day) and then stored in folders by year (i.e. 2013). Most of the time I simply rename the files within a particular folder with the folder name and then a number (i.e. 2013-0214 Valentines Day (1)) but soometimes I'll put a neme identifying the person or something special about the photo (i.e.2013-0214 Owens card). When I'm bored I will often go into a file and tag them with the names of who is in the photo or a specific detail that I might search on...(i.e. Owen, card). So ultimately all my photos are chronologically kept. I can then use Windows Live Gallery to search for a particular set of photos (eearch on Valentines or 2013 Owen). When I've scrapped the photo, I put a "x" in front of the filename (i.e. x2013-0214 Owen card) and if I've scrapped all I'm going to in a folder I do the same for the folder so I don't accidently rescrap the photos.

I do a similar file system for my LOs. They are all named with a date and topic or title and stored by type (tif or psd files for editing,300 dpi jpg for printing, or 72 dpi jpg for weagain by year so all my LOs on my system are stored chronologically. I can see where I have holes in my scrapping certain periods.

My digi supplies are kept together as kits and are labeled with designername, kitname, type of item (pdp_MyLife365_ppr (1)) and I've stored them under designer name and if designer is affiliated with a particular store/website a folder with that name...ie (FOlder 2peas->Folder HeroArts-->folder with kitname-->individual kit pieces as files). I have these physically on my computer and then I have them loaded into Picasa (a free organization program similar to Organizer and ACDSEE) which I can search by store, designer, kitname, and individual filenames as well as tag (which I do as I can to enhance searchability...(i.e. color, type of product, or whatever categories you tend to think of when you're looking for product)...so I could search just 2peas products, or just HeroArts, or just papers or just HeroArts blue papers...get the idea?). I chose Picasa, because I was concerned with the amount of product that I have that I would bog down the editor abilities of PSE. I chose Windows Live Gallery for my photos (and actually I can search my LOs and digiproducts with it as well) because I like having my digi products separate from my photos. Organizer is designed to handle photos and/or digital supplies much in the same way.

No matter what you do, it will take time and will be tedious, I'm sure. If you haven't come up with some consistent convention of how you name your files, it will be easy to have duplicates. There may be programs that can search for duplicates to make it easier to get rid of them, but I'm unsure. You may have to google that.

I'm sorry I'm not more help. My system is not fool-proof nor is it self-maintaining. I have to fuss with it every time I get new photos or new kits, but it gives me something to do while I'm sitting watching tv or don't feel like scrapping. And being the OCD person I am I'm always refining it.

Regardless how well or chaotic your organization is, please make sure you have it backed up somewhere...on disks, on EHDs, online...because you don't want to have to redo this again.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Yes, Debi, the cold and the heat are bothersome at times. It is just too large of an old building to heat. We did insulate it with spray foam insulation on the outside of the building which helps it stay somewhat cooler in the summer, but once it warms up for real or cools down for real it is hard to change it. That is why we are not open in the winter (besides needing a break for us). Last summer we had to close earlier because of the heat too.

I scrapped another 2 pager. Will try to upload maybe tonight. Thanks for the nice comments on my "sisters" page.

Praise mark! I hope I didn't miss any. I don't know that you ladies are that pokey - there was a lot of great work there.

LInda, how is your bite doing? I got a dog bite on my calf just a week before I got married. Huge bruise which was lucky my dress was long. Hurt a lot and took a while to heal.

Mizarwen, feel free to join in at any time. I just checked out your gallery and you have some beautiful and interesting layouts.

Kelly, could that little bit of warmth I'm feeling coming from you sending the sunshine? I hope it continues. Your pages are wonderful. I can't wait to see what you do with Mother's Day cards. I know that some years I love all the new paper releases and other years nothing strikes my fancy. Hope you find what you need.

Pam, I hope you get all the indoor and outdoor projects done. It's a never-ending chore. I have a new grand-niece named Ruby too. Such a cute name. I am looking forward to closing arguments on the trial, but I don't want to get caught up in another one! Glad I'm not a juror on this lo-o-ong one. Had to laugh at your "bird in a canoe"!

Cindy, it's nice to see you scrapping with all the fun paper stuff as well as your great digi techniques. Is your DH getting the farm ready for summer? I'm sure Spring is a busy time for him. BTW, say hello to Kellie for me.

Barb, have you decided on a color to replace the pink? Can't imagine why the boys want something else. Hope the painting goes well and that you are able to sell your house for the asking price. Good luck! Paying mortgage and rent is for the birds!

Jen, I'm adding to the inquiries about your health. How are things going and how are you feeling? Keep in touch.

Sarah, had to laugh at the in-laws comment. So glad you have your home to yourselves again. Nice to see you dropping by. Your DD is 14? Somehow I didn't realize she was that old. What is her talent for the show?

Melanie, so glad to see you scrapping and POSTING. Post some of your other recent ones. Sorry about the snow you are having. We were missed this storm. It's a bit warmer today, maybe Spring is coming.

Linda, nice to see you popping by. That must have been some dog bite if you don't have full use of your hand yet. Hope it is doing better each day. How are the house selling plans?

Maribeth, I am so sorry about your photo dilemma. I wish I could be of some help. I don't even have a system. Mine just go on Picasa by date and I have to hunt for what I want. I hope you can get it straightened out. Technology can be so frustrating sometimes. Hang in there.

Debi, you sound so organized with your photos and digi elements.
I can't imagine losing 500 layouts. I would be so devastated. Of course, that would be the majority of all the layouts I've ever done! I'm glad the days of working on Science projects is over. DH usually helped the kids do something concerned with plants and growing. Did you decide to host the Japanese students? We loved hosting and learned a lot.

Angie, just waving since we FaceTimed today!

I hope I have remembered everything. It's amazing how much I have missed this week. Lots of great layouts! Congrats, ladies and scrapping!
I've had stomach flu so haven't checked in. I did scrap today and finished another granddaughter school photo. One more to go for that family and then I can start on another family.

100% Delightful

Boys have a band fieldtrip next month and they told me this morning I needed to fill out the last of the paperwork, which they had at school so I had to go after school and do it. It took me over an hour to fill out all the forms for both boys--geesh!

I had volunteered to chaperone but so far haven't been selected. I'm sure it's because of the cost of the trip ($300 ea/boys and $150 for chaperones). They know I'm struggling financially but I really want to go. It's 3 days to a amusement/water park plus the band competitions. So cross your fingers and hope I somehow get selected after the fact...even if I have to put it on credit (if that's even possible).

Dreary out today and I've been unmotivated yet I have so much paperwork, including taxes to complete...oy. Guess I'll be spending my weekend catching up with that, huh?

Thank you all for your inquiries. I'm feeling pretty good, no true answers yet. I had an echocardiogram yesterday and the tech had me in tears by the time I left. I am waiting to hear from the cardiologist for more certain answers. Stress test this coming week.

In addition to my health, my grandfather is still hanging in there. My FIL had eye surgery. A few weeks ago and has had major complications. They are hoping he won't lose his eye.

So we have had a lot of health issues lately.

I hope spring is coming to stay soon! I am ready to get some flowers planted.

I hope you are well. It sounds like you're busy! I will pop in as I can. Hugs and thank you

Good Morning Pokey's, thought I would jump on here with a weekend shout out before my busy weekend begins. Looking forward to seeing my sis, but first I go to my 2nd Copic class.

Debi - Your manual way of sorting/storing the photos is exactly what my intention was to do, however the problem is with the Memory Makers file systsm, it breaks all the photos up and does not keep them together as imported by date take, so that is my dilema of getting them back into a file folder that is meaningful. I will accomplish it I am sure, but not this weekend, just too much visiting to do. I just don't know what that company was thinking to randomly put photos in files which have now meaning. Fingers crossed that you will get to go with your sons on the band trip.

Melanie - I went to your gallery and I just love your pages. Your style is exactly what I like in a page. You have some great ones. When I have more time I will bookmark and comment on many of them. Welcome and I hope to see lots more pages from you. Where is South Dakota are you? We vacationed in the Black Hills several years ago and we loved it. We are hoping to get back there now that we have our RV and see much more of the state. You have some wonderful county courthouses which is a scrapbook/photo journey I am currently working on.

Nylene and Angie - I sure hope you had a wonderful visit, but glad you are back on the board Nylene I missed your daily posts.

Jen - Hope your health issues get cleared up. I know not knowing is nerve racking.

All other Pokeys - I don't mean to exclude anyone but time is catching up to me and I have to go get ready for my busy weekend. Please, everyone have a wonderful weekend.
