are deviled eggs popular? I have a lot of extra eggs and thought I'd make some for Easter dinner.

My DD's love Deviled Eggs but neither will be here for Easter. Are they popular? Should I bother. I have lots of extra eggs to use up and thought this is one way.
So Yea or Nay? And do you serve them as an appetizer or with the dinner? Thanks

sounds like I will be making them! I was doing a search of recipes and some have relish in them while some people say don't add relish. Do you prefer them with added relish? If you have a great recipe for them, please feel free to share!

Mine are almost all gone before the meal starts. Next time I have to hide them until I serve!

So in my family, they are very popular!

Maybe make some with relish and some without. I personally hate pickles and relish so I would not eat ones with relish.

I've never had to throw away deviled eggs.

Boil, peel and slice the eggs in half.
Take out the yolks and smash them with a fork.
Add mayo, ground mustard powder, celery salt and sweet pickle relish.
Taste and adjust.
Fill whites.

I make them right before the party, so they are still slightly warm. I can't stand them if they are refrigerated.

I love them with relish, BUT, the relish has to be my homemade jalapeno relish. Gives them a nice kick without being too spicy for those who don't like spicy.

One of the reasons I love Easter is that it's deviled egg season. Mostly everyone on both sides of my family love deviled eggs. I don't think I've ever had them with relish, but I'm sure they're good that way, too.

My extended family can go through 2 dozen for 48 deviled eggs. There are 40 of use, but many of the kids don't eat them.

Any potluck or get together that has deviled eggs, well, if you are at the end of the line, you're probably not going to get any!

I don't like pickle relish, I make mine with about one teaspoon of DILL PICKLE JUICE to one WHOLE egg, mayonnaise to make a good texture and sprinkle with a lot of paprika. I don't know anyone who makes them like I do BUT at weekly church potlucks, people who KNOW mine when they see them, grab mine first so apparently they are well liked.

I don't really like mustard or pickle relish in mine BUT like the tang of dill pickle flavor WITHOUT the dill pickles. Sounds like I'm picky, I am BUT I enjoy and eat deviled eggs other people make, unless it has onions. Uncooked onions give me a splitting headache, but other than that, I always get a deviled egg and yes, planning on some for Easter!

My SIL that passed away several years ago loved my deviled eggs so much, she would run out to the car at family gatherings so she could help "carry" them in the house. Of course that was also so she would be holding the tray and could get the first taste! LOL. I miss her!
