THERE WILL BE NO CHATTY SCRAPPERS CHALLENGES THIS MONTH! . . .

of course there will be...APRIL FOOLS.

As April starts, spring begins to thaw out winter, rain makes everything grow, and the world around starts to renew, sprout up and grow. So, this is a glorious time to renew your commitment to scrapping. Come share your projects with us, try a few challenges (optional, of course) and by all means, come chat and let us know what's happening in your part of the world. Everyone welcome, no requirements to participate. Just jump in and play along.

Here are some suggested challenges to help get your mojo reved up.

BOOKMARK CHALLENGE by THERESA

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

For this month's challenge, go to the 4th layout and use it as your inspiration. Let any part of the layout inspire you, use it as a sketch or just the colors or the theme, let the layout decide! You'll be amazed what it will do on its own.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

COLOR CHALLENGE by DIANA

DIGI CHALLENGE by DEBI

Just because I dabble in digi doesn't mean you have to...all digi challenges can be done digital, hybrid or paper...adapt as needed.

This month I want you to play with your brushes (stamps) and add some flowers somewhere (after all it is Spring)!

SKETCH CHALLENGE by TONI

TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE by MONICA B.

This month, my challenge for you is to create movement on your layout. Movement created through design, embellishments, or photos can bring more life to your page! Some ways to include movement on your page could be to use a series of action photos in a row (like a slideshow!), arrange embellishments to mimic movement, add curved design elements, and use layers and dimension.

On this layout, I created the illusion of movement by arranging my title in a curve, using the airplane veneer to guide the eye, and adding stitching for a "trail" behind the airplane.

Thanks everyone for submitting some great challlenges. If you have an idea for a challenge just send me a peamail and I'll add it to our list.

Morning, Happy April. I put the check box up so you're all good to go with these new great challenges!

Have the living room de-doghaired but still have the rest of the house to go. Two loads of laundry working and I'm already exhausted. Lounging around all last week sure zapped my energy.

I always say what I mean, I just may not mean to say it out loud!

WOW THERESA you are quick!

I hear you on the housework. I've folded and put away a load of laundry, waiting to start another til after I shower, did the dishes, made lunches, ran Noah to school, and hopefully if Owen's migraine subsides, I'll be running him to school soon.

For those of you who want cleaning challenges, Today's home cleaning challenge is to sweep your porch, shake out your welcome mats and wipe down your front door. Don't forget to make your bed and do 15 minutes decluttering.

The weather is definitely turning...kind of gloomy out there. the rain is coming. Too bad too as yesterday was absolutely gorgeous! Could of used another day like that.

Teeth still bothering me. Dang it anyway.

Challenges look great. Hope you don't get too many April fool's pranks played on you today.

Debi, don't forget about the time difference, it's already 11:15 a.m. here so I'm really not that quick. Actually hoped to have a lot more done by now but I'm dragging. Hope Owen's migraine goes away soon.

happy April! So glad spring weather will be around more now

I got my laptop back today. I am sooo happy! I feel like I have been cut off from the world a bit. I got on my computer and didn't even know what to do or where to go at first! Of course, I remembered that I needed to come here to check the new challenges.

Hoping to get more time to scrap soon, too. I am definitely having withdrawals.

I am subbing high school the next 3 days (for the same teacher). Today went well. The first class has a student teacher, so I basically didn't have to do anything - she had complete control (I guess it's just a technicality that they have to have another classroom teacher in there with the student teacher). The second class of the day was for another teacher gone at the same meeting - physical science with freshman & sophomores. No major problems, but those high schoolers sure think they are slick!

morning girls -

Happy April to everyone! Thanks, Debi, for the new thread. Glad to see the new month here, actually. Easter is not my favorite time of year anymore, so glad to see it's over with...sad, I know.

The challenges look great...I hope to participate a lot more this month with having Sundays off now I have a few more sketches to do for MyScraps&More and I will have completed all 31 of them! I haven't scrapped that much in I don't know when.

Monica B - Loving your page, girl! What great inspiration.

Theresa - I'm sorry your vacation wound up being a little on the chilly side. That doesn't make going to the beach a lot of fun. Our weather in the spring is always still a little chilly, and this year has been no exception. It's been a roller coaster ride...which is why I know have another cold...sigh.

I haven't been on the Facebook end of the thread in a while...it's too hard on my phone...so I would rather come here. I hope many of you will stay here. I will still go there once in a while, but I have a hard time with it. Of course I could do it from my computer, but I don't carry that around with me. Just sayin'

Anyway, hope you all have a super-de-duper day.

love ya,

I hope everyone is fine.

Morning all. Stayed in my pajamas all day yesterday to make sure I stayed home. Got the piles of laundry done and moved the furniture around in the guest room. The way I had it arranged before was not conducive to Jeremy, Kate and the two big dogs. Looks much better now, more room to move around in. Was going to clean my closet out too but ran out of energy. Today I have to get out and get a new house key made (gave the neighbor one last week and have decided to go ahead and just let her keep it over there for emergencies), need to get some cash for the trip tomorrow and pick up a few groceries for Randy to eat while I'm gone.

Toni, I'd rather visit with you all from here too. FB isn't a good place for a lot of chatting, too choppy. Looks like this thread will barely hang on though.

Well guess I've stalled long enough, best get with it. It's already 10.

I will try to post here more even when I'm not posting my layouts to make sure this thread hangs on. I am in Facebook groups for two art journal communities now, but I don't always remember to check them either, and I agree, it mgiht not work for this "chatty" format here.

I really should start at the front door and work on cleaning things. It would be more productive than a lot of what I do.

Hello all! Lots going on this week - Piano lessons and annual recital, Dad having medical tests, committee work, just lots of stuff. Still have congestion that causes cough. Yesterday was our anniversary. Too tired to do much so ordered in pizza. Works for me.
Later all!

Well you can count on me for being here. I'm not a big FB user...don't quite get how to use it very well. I like it here.

Got nothing accomplished yesterday. Hope today goes better.

But if I sit on the computer, I'll waste away the day here too. LOL

So I'm off and running (shower, do some cleaning, some paperwork, and organize what I can so i can do my taxes this weekend)...

Have a great day.

Evening all. Have all but my toiletries packed and ready to go in the morning so I may be sparse over the next three days. Car is gassed up and snacks bought. Temps not going to be over 60's but I think we'll have fun. Took the Prius over to my sister's to do a size fit for the back seat, plenty of room for three. Michelle was shocked that there was so much room. Takes about 4 hours to get to St Louis from here so we'll have time to do stuff tomorrow afternoon too.

Debi, thanks for adding the color challenge and thanks Diana for picking out colors that will go great with my hotel photos from Gulf Shores!

THERESA have a great trip...heck 4 hours isn't much travel time...normal commute across the mountains here. Enjoy.

I've been in a scrapping mood today I guess as here's my 3rd LO...this one is for THERESA's BOOKMARKS CHALLENGE. A bit more embellishing than I usually do, but it was fun and came out ok.

Being an enabler before I head out this morning.

This Creative Sampler cartridge (link) is a combo that would be great if you're just starting out with cartridges. It combines a ton of images (6 overlays) as well as 1,000 ideas on ways to use it on the DVD.

I'm praised up to here.

Good morning ladies, great challenges. Debbi thanks for adding the color challenge. I'm very busy these days and I'm trying real hard to stay off the computer and get some work done around this house. I have succeeded in cleaning out my closet, drawers and Stan's also. Today is clean up room. Is amazing what can be accomplish when you are off this computer.

Have to head off to work, will check in later. Have a wonderful day.

The challenges look great for this month! I really hope I can find some time to do them. So far no luck.

My April started off in the emergency ward. DH woke up early Monday, like 2am, with severe pain in his right side, all the way down into his groin. Soon after he stated vomiting and running a fever. I fed him anything I had on hand but nothing seemed to help, so, it being a holiday, it was off to hospital by about 11. Once there they took bloods and did an exam, couldn't find anything wrong. BUT his blood pressure was sky-high. 208/127 - normal is 120/80! The doc was horrified. X-rays showed he was just constipated and an enema soted that out (sort of) but they wouldn't release him till they got his BP down. We were there till 6:30 pm.

So we have been focusing on getting his BP down and we seem to be getting there. The good thing is he got a major fright. He was put onto meds for hypertension 2 years ago but stopped taking them as he 'felt fine'. This has brought reality back. I'm actually thankful we ended up at the doc for something relatively minor so he could get this fright before it lead to something more serious. I'd rather spend the day in hospital for constipation than a stroke...

I have to agree with Toni - FB isn't so easy to use and I'm struggling to keep up with the chatter. It doesn't feel as much of a conversation there, rather one person making a comment and others responding to it. More impersonal, I think.

I did have a great day on Saturday, meeting my school friend. It was just like old times and 4 hours flew by as we were chatting. We couldn't understand why the waitress kept asking us if we wanted more coffee, but she probably only asked once an hour!

My days are very full at the moment. I am going to check in here regularly though. I need a bit of sanity right now

MICHELLE nice to see you. SOrry you ended up in the ER with dh, but glad it wasn't something too serious and gave you a head's up on his blood pressure. That's extremely high. Hope he gets that under control quickly.

I'm not especially fond of FB either but you are able to respond to each person's post directly rather than a running tally as we do here on this thread. Good and bad to both methods, I suppose. I do like the privacy of FB though. Never know who is peeking in on your life here. And I'm intrigued about the actual chat option...would be nice to set some times to connect that way occassionally...talk in real time. ALthough that might be more difficult between opposite time zones.

I had a productive day around the house and now I'm exhausted. Hope sleep will rejuvenate me and I can be equally productive tomorrow. No scrapping though.

Hi ladies! Remember me? I think I missed the whole month of March. Will have to catch up I was reading at least through the first half of the month, then life here just got crazy busy (the weather warmed up). Had a lot of yard work to do 1 leak in my front sprinkler system turned into 6 and a decision to tear the whole supply line out and replace rather than try to keep patching.

Michelle glad dh's er visit was for something minor and a wake up call for his blood pressure.

Well I just wanted to stop in real quick and say hi, hopefully I will be around more in April. Maybe not in the next couple of days as dh's grandpa passed away last week and his memorial service was today so we have lots of family in town to visit with. But I miss chatting with you all.

Thanks for dropping by Valerie. Isn't it always that way, a small little problem escalates into a bigger one and ends up being a huge project to repair? Sorry about the sprinkler line. But now it's fixed and you won't have to worry about it for years, right?

Been mighty quiet around here with so many posting on FB, and not as much here, but that's ok. We still have a nice group to chat with and hopefully more will join in.

Got a lot done on my "wanting to clean/declutter list" yesterday so hope I can keep the motivation going strong today too.

I want to scrap but trying to talk myself out of it in favor of doing some "necessary" stuff around the house.

Hi all- Happy April-
as I have shared, I have had more than my share of health scares and challenges.
I am compassionate to Michelle's husband's dilemma, and hope his BP goes down soon.

It's something that you can't feel. I need my BP monitored every few months.

so, I am happy that things are clicking along well here!

hey girls -

puttering along here...always so much to say but not always wanting to...sigh.

Michelle - so glad you stopped by. Prayers for your DH. Glad he finally got some sense scared into him.

Valerie - Good to see you, girl.

Fell asleep tonight during Grey's and also missed Scandal...ugh! This cold/sinus stuff is just knocking me out all the time.

Anyway, won't have time to stop by in the morning so wanted to yell out to everyone tonight.

Stay well.

Hello,
Toni I'm sorry you caught that cold. I'm so tired of it and it seems to hang on and hang on.
Michelle, that sounds like quite the ordeal. I have been in the ER with my husband before and it is quite scary.
I like FB but that is probably because I'm on it more often because we have a business page and a group page for our annual Scavenger's Journey for which I am secretary. So when I'm doing things for those pages I see the posts easier.
I'm still going to come here though because I like to look at the gallery and read some of the other scrappy posts even though I don't always comment.
I'm just really bad a posting layouts. I used to do it a lot more often, now I just never seem to get around to it. I'm working on some family history stuff right now.
We are getting the store ready to open - boy is it a mess! Cold in there too so it is hard to work.
Later ladies!

MELANIE it seems you just closed the store for vacation and now you're preparing to open again..where does the time go?

TONI don't fret, you can watch Grey's online at ABC or HULU. That's how I watch it.

Ok I've been trying to cut costs...so I decided to cut my cable tv and just keep the internet, but no, COMCAST (XFiNITY) has other plans. Get this; if I eliminate the $16/month I pay for cable tv, then my bill goes up $18 to have just internet....hmmmm. Or I could say $3/MONTH by dropping from 10MB speed to 3MB speed...I don't think so....

SO now I need to find: either a new cheaper, yet just as speedy, internet provider or find somewhere else to minimize costs...any recommendations for house/car insurance companies? Anyone insured through AARP? Is it worth the $16/yr subscription?

It's Friday, the ex agreed to change weekends, due to Frisbee game schedules, so I have the kids this weekend. No rest for the weary. LOL
Maybe I can get them to focus and start their science fair project, or threaten them with yardwork should they balk at that idea....LOL

Good to hear from all of you! I finished a layout yesterday that actually works for two of these challenges, and I photographed it too, but I haven't had time to upload it. Now I'm here at volunteer job with computer but not camera, so I will be able to upload probably tonight.

Debi, I have similar problems to you, but I am incredibly jealous of the price you pay for cable/internet. I have cable/internet/phone bundled and it's way more. But, if I dropped the phone (and just used my cell) I would have to pay more. I was able to get some off the price by going down to a lower package, I think one of the channels I dropped was HBO. I think we have to pay $118 a month now, $158 a month before.

Happy Friday Sweet Peas!!!

I'm sorry that I've been absent all week...I've been working like a dog. My weekdays are such a blur right now, thankfully, it's Friday...yay! Ron, Mal, Grif & I are headed to a Pacers game tonight. We are going with several families from the adoption program at my work. I think it will be fun, the Pacers gave us 2 of their suites, so the kids will be able to get up and move around a little, instead of staying in their seats all night.

I think our thread is going to be just fine, it is what we make it. Several of the ladies who were posting on FB hadn't been here much in a long time. Although I've loved seeing all of them, I'm so rarely on FB and it doesn't feel the same to me either.

Michelle - I'm glad that the situation with your hubby wasn't anything terrible and hopefully he will start taking better care of this blood pressure, that is not a very good thing to mess around with.

Toni - Hi sweet friend! I hope that you are able to play on Sunday, it has to be better to at least have one day off per week. Have fun making pretty stuff!

Debi - You are always running around, I hope you have a nice weekend! It's pretty interesting that dropping cable would increase your cost per month. Our cable and internet is crazy expensive, I think we pay $180/month and we don't do premium channels or anything like that.

The weather is so pretty here today, it's the first day that has looked like spring this year. It's supposed to get up to 60 tomorrow, so I'll probably be out in the yard pulling weeds so that I can spend some time outside. I'm sooo ready for winter to go away.

Have a nice evening ladies!

Tina

ELLEN you may have misconstrued my message. My bundled cable/tv (the most basic tv you can get) is way more, but if I unbundle and just go with the internet service I currently have then I end up paying more than I do if I keep the tv. I have VoIP with another provider than the cable company because it's a much better deal. But all together I'm near $100/month which is a lot on my current budget.

We had a few nice days last week but looks like we're in for a week of rain...Nothing like standing on the sidelines of a rainy frisbee game in the evening...

Dinner is done (made a nice stirfry and fresh fruit salad), dishes are done and i'm ready to relax. Maybe I'll scrap or watch a movie. Hope you all have fabulous plans for the weekend.

Oh and here's a LO I did this morning. Was a photo of a photo so I made it more vintage looking to compensate for such a bad quality photo.

I'm up...that's about all I can say. Rough night sleeping; not sure why.

Not raining yet...hopefully it'll hold off til after the game tonight, but that might be too much to ask.

Kids are up now too, bickering as usual. that can be so wearing sometimes. Maybe I'll go make some breakfast to distract them.

Just an ordinary day today...nothing huge planned.

Happy April, everyone!

We just returned from a one week trip to Huatulco, Mexico for Spring Break. Had lots of fun and I tried snorkeling for the first time. Loved it! But of course got sick on the second to last day. Happens every time we go to mexico!

Debi - you had me with the April Fool joke

Monica - great page example.

Michelle - sorry your husband was so sick he needed to go to ER. Must have been scary. Glad it all worked out.

Toni - hope you are feeling better!

Mary Jo, jealous of the snorkeling. Guess you must have drank the water!

Here's the link to the Spring Break St Louis photos I posted on FB for the non-FB people.

We had a great time. Little difficulties with two only children now having to do things the other one wanted to do but all in all they were both very well behaved.

Very tired today. Have laundry going and don't plan on doing anything else. Actually may go take a nap right now.

Oh my goodness, I live in St. Louis!
I recognize all of those places
City Museum, the Zoo, Union Station etc...
How fun? Did you have a good time here?

And can you believe I have lived here my whole life and only finally went to the top of the Arch two summers ago?

And yes, I ate or drank something that didn't like me very much!

Darn Mary Jo, didn't realize you lived there, you could have met up with us somewhere and I'd have one more "met in real life imaginary friend"!!!! We had a great time. My sister and younger of the two nephews had never been there. My sister-in-law and older nephew have been a few times and I've been there a couple of times but it was years ago when my son was small. Would have liked to have taken them to the Science Museum but they stayed the whole day in the City Museum and both close early during the winter hours which I didn't realize. My sister is already talking about going back with her family. It's a little over four hours from us so it's not too far.

Michelle, how's DH?

LOL, Debi, I guess I did not understand, except the part it's more expensive when you unbundle.

Mary Jo and Theresa, your trips both sound like they were a lot of fun. I once lived in St. Louis, but only briefly before I turned 2. My dad was in the Army, but our stay there was brief even for that.

I finally had time to upload my layout that I had photographed. It actually was for two challenges, the sketch and the digital. Although this is traditional, I thought it would be fun to decolor some digital clip art and then color it differently with my markers. Stamps?

Merry Christmas

Boys played Ultimate Frisbee tonight. Just as the game started we had a cloudburst, hard rain, and hail and wind...so everyone was cold and soaked. Fortunately it only lasted through the first point and then the rain let up. The wind was a bit tricky though. Our team won. First time this year. It was a good, and close game. I was happy to come back home into a warm house though.

Did a speedscrap tonight. A little challenging as I needed to use product from that website store and I don't have a lot of it, but here's what I came up with.

Believe in Yourself

Mighty pink...especially for me....LOL (but I think I've got 4/5 of the color challenge...red, pink, blue and gray...no green though.

Good morning everyone!

Thanks for all the concern for Heinrich. Yes, he is fine again. We are still working on the blood pressure and it is coming down, but he got a good scare and is being very careful. Even wants to eat better and start going to the gym again I'm very thankful.

Mary Jo - Ugh, foreign water can be hazardous. Hope yoour stomach settles soon. I love snorkelling too, though I don't get much chance as DH wears glasses and he can't see pat the mask if he tries. And it's no fun going on my own. Maybe when the boys are a bit bigger... Mexico sounds like fun. It always looks so relaxed on TV.

Toni - hope you can shake the sniffles soon. Autumn has arrived here and everyone has runny noses and sore throats here too.

Melanie - it does feel like just the other day you were closing for vacation. Months just fly by... dress warmly for the shop, you don't want to get ill again.

Valerie - good to see you again. Life (work) just seems to interfere with our fun (scrapping) way too much these days
.

I read the most amazing book this week - The Promise of Stardust by Pricille Sibley. Wow! It was a tear-jerker and I finished it in one sitting, staying up till 3am to finish. A moral dillema and differnet kind of love-story. Really worth the read.

I also kidnapped DH for a movie on Thursday night. I organised all the kids to go to sleep-overs with friends and I took him to see Warm Bodies. It is hilarious! We had so much fun. We were discussing when the last time was we saw a movie; just the two of us. Answer: Titanic! The first time round, not the 3D version! LOL, we really need to get out more!

Lunch time - Heinrich made a chicken and bean stew, so I just need to put the rice on. I'll try to be back later to post the 3 pages I managed to do last month. I'm still looking for a place that sells extra hours in the day...

Michelle, glad DH is doing better. I'll look into that book. Too funny about not going to the movies since the Titanic. We don't go that often, maybe every few months which now seems like all the time compared to you. It's just too expensive when you can wait two months and buy the thing for less than the price of admission for the two of us and don't even get me started on the price of snacks!

Debi, I'm glad Jeremy didn't play sports that made you stay out in the weather! He played baseball in light rain before but that was about it. Wouldn't want to be out on a field with hail, that's for sure. Come to think of it, Jackson played soccer in the rain and lots of days when we were freezing to death.

They waxed the floor in the gym at church so it looks like I'll be staying home this morning instead of going to worship. Randy went to help set up chairs yesterday and he said it is too strong for my asthma (smells are one of my triggers). He was going to see if the Sunday School area was bad smelling too and text me (he is doing the sound system this morning and had to be there at 6:30) but he has left his phone on the counter. If he doesn't call on the house phone I'm not going to go at all.

Sure didn't want to get up this morning. It's going to be a killer tomorrow. I've awakened every day for the last two weeks around 5:30, haven't got up mind you, I went back to sleep, and I could go right back to sleep now and it's already after 7. Tomorrow I'll already be on the road by 7. Of course, guess there is still hope that he won the lottery and hasn't checked the numbers. Yeah right!

Have to get some groceries in and go check on Joyce sometime today. Ordered over 200 photos from Wal-Mart yesterday to show her my trip. She's not being doing well since Monday so I'm hoping it'll cheer her up. Supposed to be 74 degrees, made it to 72 yesterday but it's windy. Still am going to try to be outside during some of it. Next week it's supposed to get to high 70's. Totally not fair to warm up that much AFTER I get off vacation!!!

Happy Sunday although around here it should be relabled "rainday"...argh.

MICHELLE I want your dh's recipe for chicken and bean stew...sounds delicious...is it a crock pot recipe?

SPeaking of crock pots perhaps I'll go stick a roast in mine..>That will make an excellent dinner. But we'll eat late if I don't do it very soon. LOL

THERESA isn't that the way--good weather once you get back to work. Maybe next year you need to take vacation a little later. Enjoy your 70's weather...we're mid 40's and wet here. 70's sounds lovely.

As for weather dreary sports, my kids have participated in baseball, soccer and Ultimate Frisbee...all played in bad weather, although baseball will be called if it gets too wet, although we have played in the snow. Guess I should have encouraged chess club and math club more--they were indoor activities as was drama...oh well. At least they are getting fresh air and exercise and hopefully I won't die of pneumonia for standing out in the weather cheering them on....LOL

I feel lazy today, mostly because I'm cold. If I get up from under the heated throw and get busy, maybe I'll get something done...maybe.

Good morning Chatty Scrappers. Weather here is still lovely, supposed to be windy today and we are expecting rain tomorrow. The rain is always a nice change, although it will drop our temps to the high 60's. No scrapping going on here. Spent all day yesterday with the other 2nd grade room mom's working on the class' School Foundation project. Our class is doing a subway art. Each kid painted the base of the board and picked out one work. Took us 6 hours to figure out the placement of 36 words on each of 2 boards. Now to cut the stencils out of vinyl and spray the board. We're hoping it will earn a lot of money in the auction to benefit the school foundation.

Theresa - Sounds like you've enjoyed a couple of lovely trips. Isn't that the way it goes though, you plan your vacation and the weather is lousy as soon as you go back to work the weather is beautiful.

Michelle - I can't even tell you how long it's been since DH and I went to a movie without the kids. May have not been at all since they were born. Glad to hear your DH is doing well and working on getting his bp under control.

Toni - Hope you're feeling better soon. Spring allergy season is here. Although *knock on wood* my allergies for some reason have not been too bad this year.

Mary Jo - Hope you're feeling better too! Mexico sounds like a fun vacation, I've never been, but it looks beautiful.

Well it's Sunday I had better get laundry started so the kids have clean uniforms for school tomorrow. Hope you all have a terrific day!

Happy Sunday, Chatty Scrappers. Sorry some of you aren't having the best weather. It is just cloudy here, I am expecting wind. I guess very similar weather to yours, momtoali. Sorry your church isn't being sensitive to your asthma, Theresa. That would really peave me.

Even before I posted last night, we had just done something new at our church. We attend an evening service that is identical to morning services that we do not attend. It was Sunday evenings, but as of yesterday, it was moved to Saturdays. Lots of fun yesterday, and in two weeks my cousin who lives near San Diego is going to come up and visit me. She's saying good-bye to some southern California relatives before she and her DH (who is in the Navy) get transferred to Nebraska next month. When he gets out of the Navy in about eight years, I don't know if they will go live next to her parents in central California or his mom (more likely) in Ohio. But they won't be this close to my world ever again, so kind of sad.
But with my own kids in Colorado and Ohio, we know a road trip to Colorado, Nebraska and Ohio is in the works some day before they get transferred again.

oops didn't make it on time to start the roast in the crockpot...maybe tomorrow. Managed to finish a page (haven't posted yet) and clean the kitchen, and mess it back up with getting lunch for the kids, and now I'm back under the heated throw drinking tea to stay warm. Guess I'll either scrap, nap or watch a movie...geesh talk about a lazy Sunday afternoon. The "lazy" is referring to me not the day.

Catch you all later.

Debi, I've also had the lazy day. Randy never called so I assumed the smell of the floors was seeping through the whole church and I went back to bed. Slept til almost 10. Went to visit Joyce (she looks and feels awful), got picked up vacation photos (should have waited for a sale on processing), got groceries (should say spent a fortune at the store and still have nothing to eat), cleaned the patio off a tiny bit and sat in the sun and read a bit before the wind picked up and ran me back inside.

Now I'm praised up!

Ellen, my church uses a large gymnasium multi purpose room for the early service and the floor has to be re-varnished a couple of times a year because of heavy use. They try and pick a time when attendance will be down, last week was Spring Break for the school system. I'm sure they'd like to be able to afford the varnish that doesn't smell but it's a big room and they have to use their funds wisely. I'm just glad Randy went yesterday and I didn't go in unaware.

Didn't win the lottery so I'll have to go back to work tomorrow, boo hoo. Thinking I'll just catch up on the TV shows I DVR'd from last week for the rest of the night.

Sorry to just now be checking in for the month, but we've been in Northern Calif. with our daughter and family.

The challenges for this month look fun and I really hope I can get some done. I already have an idea for the BOS challenge.

I just read a little on the thread, but saw that

Michelle's Heinrich had been in the hospital. I'm glad they caught the BP problem and can get him fixed so it doesn't lead to something worse!

I'll finish the thread and catch up on praise tonight. Tomorrow my sisters and I are driving to visit Mom's only living sibling. We all love our sweet Aunt and don't think she has much longer left here.

I did finish a layout just before leaving for vacation, but didn't get it posted. This is it:

Our Beautiful Megan

Theresa, thank you for posting the checkbox for me. Sorry your vacation was so cold. I loved the photos you posted of St. Louis. I'd love to go there sometime. Looks like the boys survived it and you adults survived the boys!

Be back later. Waving to all.

Melanie , congrats on the anniversary. How many is this? I hope you get everything ready for your re-opening and that the weather warms up.

Valerie I'm sorry about the sprinkling system. Hope you got everything all taken care of. I'm sure the weather is gorgeous there right now. So sorry to hear about DH's grandfather. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Toni, I hope your cold doesn't turn into anything worse. It seems like many people around here have been really sick with what started out like a cold. Take it easy!

Lindy, how are you feeling since the accident? Are you still having neck and back pain? Hope you are doing better.

Mary Jo, sorry you got sick in Mexico. I'm sure the trip was wonderful, though. I lived in Mexico City my Freshman year in college and we were warned and re-warned about what we could eat and drink, and we all ignored the warnings after a couple of weeks. No one got sick and we thought our stomachs were pretty tough. The day we got back to the states we all ordered hamburgers and we all got so sick!!

Ellen, be sure to mark the April Chatty Scrappers box when you upload a layout. That way it will be linked to the other pages done for this challenge. Nice job, by the way.

Theresa, and just when are you going to win that lottery! You keep teasing us with it, but you never win! I do believe you have to buy a ticket to win, don't you? Maybe that's why I have never won!

Debi, you are really keeping up with the scrapping for this month. Love all your fun Easter pages. Hope you accomplish all your goals for this week and that you are feeling much better.

Tina, how was the ball game? I'm sure you had a great time. How are you liking your new job by now? Has Mal decided for sure about her mission trip? Questions, questions, questions...sorry I'm so nosy!

Well, I have finally caught up and hope to stay caught up the rest of the month. I'm anxious to do some scrapping soon. Have a great week everyone!

Nylene - you know, my son and I were kind of joking about that!
So I was feeling better, but Saturday night he became sick and is still home today with a sick stomach.
And yesterday morning I started feeling sick again. But am better now.
We were saying that we need to get use to the water and food back here!

I feel so bad for him though. I was hoping I was the only one who was really going to get sick. He is better, but really needs another day to recuperate.

We tried really hard to watch what we ate and drank, but it's feels like a losing battle when you are down there!

Going to try and get in to praise layouts today. See quite a few posted already.

FYI the Pokey Peas are chattering more than the Chatty Scrappers....dang FB.

Lots on my TO DO (Immediately) List so no time to chat. Working on a few LOs but need to scan a photo for one, add something to finish another and journaling on the 3rd...maybe I'll get them done today...maybe not.

Ok I've got a few errands to run between rain bursts. Catch you later.
