I just saw someone mention the Instax camera on another post. I am curious as to what purpose it serves. Does anyone use one and what is the cost involved? I see the cameras are very cheap; what about the instant printing? I would have done a search for a thread about this but I cannot see a search on this website. Thanks!

Instax is awesome! It is just like the old polaroid pics except they are smaller size about the size of a credit card. The film can be expensive at 20.00 for 20 photos but you can find it cheaper on amazon. The camera itself is like 60.00 at walmart. I love mine and am glad for the investment and I will be getting my dtr. one too as she can use it for her mixed media art.

I had a thread on this a couple of weeks ago. I love mine. The film is cheaper on Amazon.com than it is at WalMart, even with the shipping.

I love my Instax! Had it about...2 years?! It's just a fun, nostalgic type thing. If you want superior quality photos, do not buy. It's full of overexposure and flare, but if you like that type of stuff, go for it! My 4 year old nephew knows how to use it too and loves watching the prints come out.

I had an instax camera but then my sister who is on a polaroid fix right now took it from me. But it was fun while it lasted! The images have that instagrammy quality about them which is so "in" right now! Plus, it's so satisfying to take a picture then instantly have it in your hands!

I just bought an Instax camera and love it for Smash books. If you click on my blog below, you can see a picture of the camera and some pages that were made at my daughter's birthday party using the pictures.

I do confess, I don't see the appeal. I have the bad photos from the Polaroid camera I had as a kid. I don't feel nostalgic about that at all. Of course, I don't get the Instagram/washed out photo look, either, so it's probably no surprise.

I was also looking at them on Amazon. Which one do you recommend?

I have the Fuji Instax 25. It takes credit card size photos. I was happily surprised at the quality of the pictures.

We took our grandson on a long weekend trip a couple of weeks ago. He loved taking pictures with my Instax! In fact he loved it so much, that I have pics of the hotel room, his pillow pet, some spicey chips and the ceiling!! lol!

Denise,

My girls are the same way! I have mostly self-portraits of them. They love to use the camera and the instant gratification of a picture is almost too much for them!

Sharon,
My grandson couldn't believe that the picture developed right before his eyes!! I would love to get him this camera for his birthday, but I don't think we could afford the amount of film he would go through!!

Thanks for all the responses! (I guess I expected an email or something when someone posted a response, so I hadn't checked.)

I really may have to do this, just because it is inexpensive and I have a few ideas of things I could do with it.
