Yep, looks like everyone is busy these days!

I survived my early morning yesterday, but barely! It was sooo boring (pretty much sitting at a desk in a gloomy classroom for 7.5 hours). I could hardly keep my eyes open! I did some reading, but that just made me even more tired.

Not feeling too hot today. I'm starting to wonder if I have Celiac Disease. I'm hoping NOT, because that would stink! I've heard it is a very specific diet you have to be on. But I am going to have my doc test me for it next time.

Rach- Love your challenge! I still haven't put my kit together yet, though. Awesome that you are getting lots done working at home!

Ruthie- That's awesome about making your own mists!

Melissa- Yeah, subbing can be hard when you have to be up & ready so dang early! I saw that about Amy Tangerine. Funny, I didn't even know she is in a serious relationship (or is she?)! I guess that shows how much I keep up on that stuff...

Elizabeth- Yay for scrapping! Does that mean you've been feeling better?

Rach- I'm thinking one group, any theme for the swap would work.

Still around. Yup seems everyone is busy and I'm usually the only one to post so I thought I would let others post. Lol. Feeling better, but suffering from a headache today. I did manage to complete a couple of pages in my mini album (only 3 left) and just now completed a layout for the teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons. Printed off a 100 day chart and decided to dress it up. Love how it came out and will add her picture at the end of her reading a big girl book hopefully. I'll try to post my 2 layouts tomorrow.

Well in the mist of cooking dinner, but hoping to complete my double layout tonight.

I am also in the mist of looking to buy a house within 6 months so excited to start my search.

Ah. It ate my post.

I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but my Dad died 3 weeks ago from throat cancer. He's been cremated and his funeral is this weekend. It took me awhile to really accept it and cry about it and be open to talking about it. He was a really cool guy. We had a fun relationship since my mom and he divorced when I was only two. I'll miss him very much. I've also been healing from back surgery which I had a month ago. I'm not getting any better this time and that also has me down.

On a good note, my husband got his dream job at Apple and started this week. They opened an office in Austin, TX. He's super excited about the opportunity to grow. He previously worked as the IT Mgr for a hospice company. He loved it very much and they loved him, but there was no where for him to go anytime soon. He's already made me super jealous about the place. He said the breakroom has a huge Starbucks machine and a ping pong table. Everyone wears shorts and Tshirts and decorates their cubes. He saw a Star Wars and Dr Who cube. I'm excited for him. Now we just need to move there so his commute isn't so long.

Regarding the swap, I'll buy the stuff for it here on Friday and ship it shortly after I receive it. Hopefully I will be on time. If not I'd say I might be a week late? I was hoping the new July 4th release from Bella Blvd would be here by now. It's so much fun. Love, love, love it. If not here by Friday, I'll pick another current release to work with.

I did not get a chance to read what everyone has said. Will try to come back later to post again .

Desiree, I am so sorry to hear about your dad My heart hurts for you. I don't know what I would do if I lost either of my parents. Sending prayers for you Hope you can find comfort soon. And what a bummer about your surgery. I had major back surgery when I was in high school. It took MONTHS to recover - probably one of the hardest things in my life. So I can totally relate. Hey, I did learn how to pick up things with my toes, though! haha.

Elizabeth- Exciting about the house search! Have fun with it - maybe it will pick you up a bit!

Cat- Welcome! We love having new Young Scrappers I got a few notices in my email tonight about new Pinterest followers on the YS board - you were one of them! hehe. omg, I love Jack Russels - I bet she is a cutie! I have a toy chihuahua (Dinky). yay for small dogs!

So I cooked a pretty fantastic dinner tonight, if I may say so myself! And everything I used was organic from Trader Joe's My mom watched a show on PBS tonight about genetically modified foods & how the FDA just lets companies practically poison us with these foods. The list of food that are genetically modified is mind-boggling We're thinking we want to start buying all organic, even if it's more expensive. Yet another reason I want to move to California!!

Alright, need to work on my friend's baby shower invites. I'm such a procrastinator...

Desiree: I am truly sorry for our lost and I can actually sympathize with you because I lost my dad a year ago to stage 4 lung cancer and it hit me so hard because believe it or not he was my best friend. I hope you can come to peace with his passing (easier said than done I know) and over time heal. I am glad your hubby landed his dream job and is happy. Hey Austin isn't that far (I think 2 hours or less) we'll have to try to get together for a crop. I hope your back heals and you try to have a good week. Your YS gals are here for you.

Happy Hump day! Hope everyone has a great day. It's raining here so decided to start my day off cleaning. Both the girls cleaned their room with some direction and we made a fun game out of it. Next we are going to paint and I'll try to knit a little. Hoping to finish my mini album today, but it all depends on how the rest of the day goes. So far so good.

I tested my Heidi Swapp glitter mist last night and the spray didn't come out as I wanted. Anyone got any tips for using spray inks? I have her special paper pack, but I wanted to try it on cardstock too. Thanks in advance.

Desiree, so sorry for your loss! Cancer is such a sh**y thing! My mom is a 2 time breast cancer survivor so I somewhat understand your pain. Remember its okay to grieve and take all the time you need to, but remember he's watching over you and I am sure he'd want you to be smiling and living life to the fullest - its too short. My thoughts are with your family *hugs* YS is always here for you!

Elizabeth, yay for your squeezing in some scrapping! What happened with your HS sprays? I have 2 (one you sent me ) and they both work fine.... ? I guess I suggest just always spray first in scrap paper. I usually shake my bottles then let them sit then do it again don't ask my why I just do

Monica, glad to hear your busy! And hope you don't have Celiac disease. I've had a few clients households do gluten free diet (as it "helps" with autism) and its actually not too bad! I've had many yummy products that are gluten free. One of Jonny's friends is doing it to be more healthy and he says he feels a HUGE difference.

Loni, loving the baby bump! Such a cute pregnant women

Cat, welcome. Melissa, 22, Vancouver Canada. Boyfriends name is Jonny, I have a long hair chihuahua named Milo and I work as a nanny for 2 families both with 2 boys and both families eldest have autism.

Its pouring here, pretty sure it's almost like a monsoon! But we are taking Kobe for some therapeutic riding today

Melissa: I shake it and it just sprays way too much. I wonder if I am too close or pressing too much. I am not sure. I will give it another try maybe tomorrow and play around some more. I truly love the glimmer in them. It's pouring down here too and flooding my yard. Have fun at the therapy riding lessons.

okay, I'm having second thoughts on the swap... The cheapest I have been able to find everything is $24, and that's with discounts. Plus, it will cost to ship to Rach & have her ship back to us. idk... I like the idea, I just am on a budget these days!

Monica - Would it help any to push the date back so you have more time to work on it? I hope it doesn't come out to $24.00. That's pretty expensive for a mini kit.

If you decide to do it I would suggest the following:

Don't buy it all new if you can avoid it. Use your stash. I've seen your pages, you've got a great stash!

4 pcs of PP would cover your 4 - 6x6 sheets ($4.00)
1 yard of ribbon or washi (we've all got that lying around. You could even use different ribbon or washi colors for each kit if not enough on one roll as long as it coordinates I would think it should be fine. $0.00 - $4.00
For the embellishments you could buy a sticker sheet of the coordinating chipboard package. Cut the sticker sheet up into equal parts. It'll be different for each kit, but it would still coordinate. $4-$5.00
Handmade embellies - piece of cake . Use only your stash for this part. Maybe use the letters from the sticker sheet to create unique tags and use mist to create a negative effect of just to add dimension. You could use border punches, regular shape punches that go along with the theme. Use stamps and embossing powder or WOW stuff. If you have a typewriter you could use it somehow. $0.00

To save on shipping you could switch the line you chose and find something locally at M's, J's, or HL. I've heard they've got a lot of new stuff coming in. Even things that are fairly new like Trendsetter. J's also has limited lines through BG like Hey Boy and Hey You.

Just some thoughts. If you can't, you can't. In this economy it's hard to preplan for anything so I completely understand.

Monica- What Des said. I think it can be so much more affordable if you divide up items like the embellishments and use stash items for the handmade items and twine/ribbon/washi.
If you buy a 6x6 pad and give each kit a slightly different combo of papers you are only spending about $6.00 for paper then a few bucks for coordinating embellishments.

I am sorry if I gave the impression that the swap needed to be pricy or all brand new stuff.

I hope you can find a way to play along.

idk, I'm still debating! I did all the things Desiree suggested. One problem is that there is an odd number of people - you can't just buy 4 sheets of paper, you would need 8 to cover everyone. And in that case, it's cheaper to buy the 6x6 pad. I was planning to use washi & handmade stuff from my stash. And I did figure in dividing up the embellishments - it still comes to $24!

Welcome Cat!

Desiree - Very sorry for your loss, my condolences. I was close to my grandmother, and that hurt a lot, I cannot imagine losing either of my parents. Many hugs your way. Congrats for your husbands new job. Wish I could decorate my office the way I want it, but the company I work with is really old-fashioned, so I don't have anything in here. If I could I would do a Duck Dynasty theme with camo and duck calls everywhere for the moment since I am in love with the show right now. LOL

Elizabeth - I wish you the best of luck with house hunting. It's a start to a new adventure in your life.

Monica - sorry the subbie job wasn't that exciting. I feel you on the working 8 hours a day and falling asleep, I've been doing that for months now. Sooo not exciting, I just think about my baby girl and the scrapbooking goodies I can get at the end of a work week. LOL.

Hi Cat! Nice to have you. I'm Michelle, 19, university student in Boston, MA studying graphic design and marketing.

Desiree - So sorry for your loss! I can only imagine how hard that must be.. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Monica - Sucks about the job :/ What grade do you teach? And I think I remember you saying you want to become more of a permanent teacher - what subject?

Are we moving forward with the swap? Just curious before I hit buy button.

Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts. I'm hoping I have enough courage to get through my memory tomorrow. I'm a pretty emotional person so it can be hard to control the waterworks sometimes.

For any newcomers, I'm Desiree. I just recently started posting to this thread myself . I'm married without children, but have two cute little puggies named Abigail and Mackenzie. I'm not so young anymore at35, but certainly don't feel like a senior citizen yet either .

Hope you ladies participating in the kit swap have fun. Wish I could have played along. Maybe next time I will able to.

I completed another layout last night and man was it challenging for me. I am going to try to upload using my IPod since my ipad is harder for me to upload. I am hoping this weekend to complete some journaling in my oldest yearly albums and complete some layouts that are missing. Hopefully. My weekends go way too fast, but I am hoping to find a little time to scrapbook in peace.

TGIF everyone!

Hello FRIDAY!!! So happy for the weekend, because I'm having a crop tomorrow at my house. So excited. Is anyone planning on scrapbooking?

On a personal note. I'm not a dog owner and have never owned one before, but my best friend is a huge animal lover. She has a chihuahua named Chico. This week she had them at her in-laws while she was out doing errands. Her father-in-law let out the dogs without tieing them up and her girl dog, Abby, never came back. She was looking for her, and recieved the sad news yesterday that she unfortunetly got hit and passed away. She has no kids, but her dogs were her kids. I'm not sure what to do? I want to do something special so she can be at peace with losing her, but not sure how.

I am hoping to get some scrapping done tonight, and tomorrow morning.
Sunday Jonny and I are going to dedicate it to making marinades, vacuum sealing, and freezing them. As well as going to an Asian market to get items for Thai food we made in Thailand.

I am staying at the mansion again fore 2 weeks as the mom is going to North Carolina.

Ruthie, Your poor friend! I have a chihuahua so its close to my heart. Let her grieve and know that its okay to be sad. Chihuahuas are very affectionate and owner dependent so it will be more tough for her. Maybe make her a surprise mini scrapbook of her pup? Get photos from the hubby? My boyfriends dog got hit by a car in November, his dad is a vet and saw it happen and Pinkie died in his arms within 30 seconds. It's just as painful to loose a pet as a human.

Ruthie: that's so sad. I would suggest a mini album dedicated to her dog and maybe even a cute sympathy card to let her know you are there for her. I know it's not a baby, but to her it's her baby and needs a shoulder. Hope everything works out. Have fun at your crop this weekend. I am cleaning my closet and almost done and hoping to scrapbook a lot this weekend.

Well I am going to get back to cleaning and dancing. Hopefully the baby likes to dance bc I do. Once I am done hoping to get my scrapbook supplies together to get started crafting. Btw has anyone seen the OA blog today. The designer today created a Ferris wheel using a svg file and now I am totally hinting hard at a new cutting machine.

Anyone that has the silhouette can you tell me if I buy the file does it add the score marks or how does that work? Thanks.

Ruthie - So sorry about your friend's loss! I agree with what everyone is saying - just let her know you're there for her, and maybe make her a nice gift if you can, using pictures of her dog!

I'm going to try to squeeze in some scrapping time this weekend, but it won't be as much as I usually get.. My boyfriend's dad is visiting for a few days, and it's also close to the end of the semester for me right now. Thankfully, I don't have any final tests, but I do have final projects to work on :/

Also, here's a layout I made with (mostly) this month's kit, using a Pinspiration challenge (make a pie chart). It's simple, but I've been meaning to make this page for a while, so ehh.

It's cold and rainy where I am now but Happy Friday to everyone!

Hello ladies. I'm enjoying another Snow Day -- I know in April it's unreal I'm ready for Spring. I know I live in the North Country and this is typical for us but it gets depressed and sickening after awhile. We actually have no snow but it was freezing rain and sleeting really bad this morning with a ton of ice build-up. So I'm enjoying the day with Allie. I did manage to get two scrapping pen pal letters out so one more and I'm all caught up with that. I'm hoping to tackle some layouts at some point this weekend. This will be the first weekend I have had nothing going on. Kind of nice for a change.

Hi Cat - Welcome I'm still fairly new to the Young Scrappers board but these ladies are very nice welcoming people. Who I've enjoyed getting to know and browse their projects. They are very talented. I'm 27 soon to be 28 in May, married to hubby 3.5 years been together 10, have an 18 month old daughter and a fur baby Rex - he's a mutt. I'm from very upstate New York state, about 7 miles from the Canadian border. Work as a secretary - fairly new to scrapbooking/cardmaking but I'm enjoying myself so far Looking forward to getting to know you.

Have a great weekend everyone. Hoping to be able to chat at some point.

Michelle, That LO is adorable! I'm going to scrap lift it somehow and use it for a travel LO for my trip!

It's rainy here too, no surprise since its Vancouver

So I put my cricut and 6 cartridges on sale for $100 on CL... Annoying girl keeps emailing asking $40 then $65! I explained the cartridges were worth more than $65 alone! Some people

Helllooo ladies!

I've been busy! We are getting a new manager at work May 1st, so our old manager is finishing up things before she moves to a different office! So, work is busy! PLUS! Josh and I have finally set a date to move to Calgary, end of July/August 3rd! I have mixed emotions... i'm happy but sad so! It will be a really huge new experience! Also, now my grandma is in the hospital. My momma went to take her her groceries yesterday morning, and as my grandma opened the door to let her in she passed out So my momma took her to emergency and they admitted her because her oxygen levels keep dropping every time they take her off oxygen! Boo.

For all the new ladies, HIIII! I'm Lisa, 22 and live in Alberta, Canada! I currently work at a registry office (DMV) where I deal with driver's licences, birth certificates and licence plates I enjoy it for the most part, some days are better than others! My manager isn't the greatest, so i'm happy she is moving to a different office in May, even though i'm leaving end of July. I am married to my husband Joshua, and we've been together for 7 years this December! I have 2 fur babies, Neo and Loki

Tessa: Are you on the penpals group? I can't quite remember if i've seen you there or not... maybe i'm seeing things!

I'm super excited to make the April kit, and use it at my crop at the end of the month! Anyways, off to scrap PL! Be back later ladies!

I will catch up with all of the chatter in the morning.

Just wanted to post that yes, I am still on for the kit swap, I'm just waiting on my supplies to be delivered. I'm thinking they should be here by mid week, and then I will get it all put together and mailed off to Rachel. I ordered enough for 5 kits, soooo I guess I will just have extras now.

Oh Ruthie, that is so sad! You should definitely do something for her. She'll appreciate it.

Melissa, oh that story is even more sad!! Stop, you guys are killing me! I hope Milo lives a long, long healthy life!!

Elizabeth, did you get your question answered? The file should include the score marks. It just cuts a dotted line for parts that are folded - but you know that I'm sure.

Cute LO Michelle!

Lisa, I hope your grandma is ok! That is so lucky that your mom was there.

Monica, It's not too late to change your mind, is it?

Chatty ladies! I'm caught up for now. B told me to take it easy while he is away for the morning. We will be doing a little moving today. I'm a little stressed out this week.

Hi guys! I just stumbled across this board today and thought I would join in!
I'm Tara from Kansas city. I'm 24 and definitely not new to scrapbooking. I made my first one when I was about 11 or 12 for my boyfriend. haven't stopped yet! I'm addicted to project life and organizing my scrapbooking supplies... I tend to hoard thickers and stamps and paper. I just started a blog to share my work in the last month. Come check it out!
