Happy Saturday ladies. So far my weekend of not doing much has gotten busy. I went with my hubby, Allie and my father-in-law to a boat show and then out to lunch which was very nice we don't spend as much time with him and we enjoyed it. Now back home to hopefully do a couple of layouts. DH is telling me I can be in my craft room all day tomorrow while he watches Allie.

This 20% email is killing me on here I'm trying not to buy anything but I've been really wanting to take a class I've never taken one. I'm looking at Amy Tan's Mix it Up and Shimelle's Hitchhikers guide to scrapbooking. Any thoughts/suggestions? The discount does work on classes.

Lisa - I am on the penpals group. I just love writing letters and receiving mail it's always been exciting. Interested in corresponding?

Melissa - would you consider selling any of your cartridges separately? I only have a couple and am looking to add to my collection.

Welcome Tara - I'm Tessa 27 soon to be 28 in May - mom to Allie (18 months), wife to Justin live in Heuvelton, NY (way upstate - 7 miles from the canadian border)

Happy Saturday everyone!

It's snowing/hailing/sleeting/raining/sunny here today. Medicine Hat never knows what type of weather we want. We always say snap your fingers and you'll have a different type of weather!

Went up to see my grandma after work. She's doing better, but we think they're going to send her home with the oxygen tanks again. She was on oxygen for almost a year and then they took her off because she was doing better. She then goes for an Echo in a few weeks to check her heart! Thanks for all your kind words

Rach: I LOOOOOOVE your new LO! I saw your sneak on insta, and was looking forward to seeing the final product I love the paint and all the pink! Where is the main paper from?

Loni: I hope you're feeling better! Is this pregnancy harder than the others?

Tara: HI HI! I'm Lisa, 22, from Canada, wifey to Joshua and momma to 2 fur babies Loki and Neo! Checked out your blog, I love your PL spreads!

Tessa: Yay for hubbie volunteering to watch Allie And sure! If you want to write MORE letters. I know you're already busy with quite a few ladies already letter wise!

Need to look back at old post later to catch up on chatter.

I finished my mini album and once my mom comes to visit and I get the pictures developed I plan to finish it up with the sticker sheet and pictures. S ar I love the pages and the outcome. That pretty much was my afternoon.

Took the girls outside while hubby did the yard work and we found our first frog ever so the girls were excited and I got some great pictures to scrapbook. I actually hate frogs (not sure why) but I kept brave for the girls until my oldest decided to hold it with the death crip and chase me into the house. Didn't think my pregnant butt could move s fast. Lol.

I'll try to post later and make a video of my mini album tomorrow and post on here. Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Lisa: glad to hear your grandma is doing better today. The main paper is Crate Paper from the new DIY line. I really like the page. I don't know why I love it so much, I never use pp as a background. So maybe I like it because it is different.

Tessa - don't think we've met before, so I'm Michelle, 19, studying graphic design and marketing in Boston, MA. I actually bought the Amy Tan mini workshop, and I'm not a big fan of it :/ I really love Amy Tan and her work, but personally, I don't think I got much out the class. The main part of it was a pdf with "mix formulas" basically listing things that she used on each page, which I didn't find too inspiring.
On the other hand, I've looked at the Hitchhiker's Guide to Scrapbooking, and I feel like I'd really want to buy that workshop, though I haven't yet. I love Shimelle's style of videos, because she really explains design principles and why she does what she's doing on the layout. That's just personally more inspiring for me, because I can take that and apply it to anything, rather than just copying a page. Hope that helps!

I've actually been having a lot of free time, so I've been scrapping. I also recently got a message from the editor of a magazine who wants to feature me and my etsy shop in the May issue!! I think it's just a really small mag, but I'm still really excited

Here are 3 new layouts I've made recently one two three

Thank you so much for all the suggestions. I think I'll make her a card or a small layout so she can keep it with her stuff. You girls are great!!! I made a card for a YT challenge and finished the layout for my co-worker during my crop on Saturday. So much fun.

Melissa-that sounds like a good time staying in a mansion and all. Never been in one. LOL

Michelle-good luck on your projects. Love all the layouts you did.

Tessa-That is such a bummer about the snow. Mother Nature is going crazy this year.

Lisa-super happy your grandmother is feeling better.

Elizabeth-frogs aren't very cute to me, they are slimy and eat bugs, I understand why you don't like them. Can't wait to see the pictures of your projects.

Rachel-Loved the LO. I never thought to put word strips in a banner. I'm scraplifting that idea.

Hi Tara! My name is Ruthie , and I'm 26. I'm one of the many January babies on here. I live with my boyfriend and 15 month old daughter Adaliah.

Yeah, everything's really crazy right now.. I keep hearing sirens passing by. Luckily, I wasn't out today. A lot of people I know were out there volunteering, but thankfully, I think they're all safe back at home or at their dorms! Keep praying though - there might be more bombs out there

Hi guys nice to meet all of you!

Michelle- congrats on the magazine! Glad to hear you are safe.

Man this board moves quickly.

I've been working all weekend + blogging and catching up project life in any free time I find. I think I am finally caught up until last week...Unfortunately just realized today I only took 1 whole photo last week. Looks like it's going to be another 2 weeks in a spread for me this time around.

Also, yesterday was shopping for some new scrap supplies online, then randomly decided I couldn't wait for shipping so I drove an hour to my nearest Archiver's to stock up! Can't wait to play!

hey girls!
Been busy lately with subbing. I'm glad it's picking up, but school only lasts for another month before summer break - I'm going to have to figure out something else then! It's been fun... I definitely come home with stories every time!

Yesterday I got paid from the school district, so I treated myself to a little shopping. Got a couple of tops from my favorite store (they had an awesome sale!) and then hit up Archivers' 33% off embellishment sale and got some fun stuff. I'm excited to scrap with my new goodies!

So sad about what happened in Boston It's a crazy world we live in...

Michelle - Glad you are safe!

Tara - hi & welcome! I'm in Kansas City, KS. Not sure how far Odessa is, but I visit the KCMO Archivers every so often. Some of the ladies even know me there

I haven't really read the rest of the chatter, but I'll catch up tomorrow! I'm exhausted from getting up at 5am this morning & being with high schoolers all day. Night!

happy Hump Day!

Although I keep thinking tomorrow is Friday...

Not much going on here. I slept in way too late today and pretty much just hung out. I guess I needed some rest after the early mornings subbing! I have a half day of subbing in the afternoon tomorrow, so shouldn't be too bad.

Could use some thoughts on this...I've had several people I know tell me they'd pay me to make their scrapbooks for them. I would love to do it, however, I have absolutely no clue what to charge for something like that?! I'd never really thought about the actual expense that goes into it as a whole or per page basis or the price I'd put on my time? Do any of you have any suggestions/experience or know what a "service" like this would run these days? A lot of work goes into it so I'd want it worth my time but I don't want to give them a price and them think I'm off my rocker. Lol.

Woke up at 5am to horrible screaming and cries for help. Kobe (has autism) went into Caesars room and started to chin (digging his chin) into Caesars leg and arm. I've never had such a flight or fight mode in my life. I was so shocked I never new I could run so fast being half asleep!

Couldn't fall back asleep after and now working a 9 hour shift with the other family I work for. Hopefully Marc (2 yr old) will have a long nap so j can rest a little.

Hi ladies.

So sorry I haven't been around much. This has been such an emotionally draining week. Boston Marathon bombings, fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas (just a little over an hour away from me), the anniversaries of all of the horrible events that have happened in the U.S. this week in the past 20 years and now more stuff happening in Boston last night/today.

Michelle: I hope you have been safe today. Please check in when you can!

I will catch up on the chatter tomorrow. I'm just so glad it is finally the weekend!

Rachel - Yay for your vacation! Hope it's lots of fun

Tara - I've never actually gotten paid to scrapbook for someone (I've only done a few small projects or minis as gifts), but I have looked it up before, and people say that the rate is anywhere from $5-20 per page, but I think that was not including price of supplies. Personally, I think $15 is a good price per page, with supplies included.

It was so crazy waking up today and finding out about what was happening all through the night - totally wasn't expecting that!! Since Boston was on lock down, I was stuck inside all day and had to cancel all my plans. I normally like staying in, but I'm so stir crazy at this point! I've used up ALL my new scrapbooking papers (which means LOTS of projects have been done yayyy), so I didn't feel motivated to work on anything else, really. I'm glad they caught the suspect, and hopefully the city can get back to normal now...

I procured minimal scrap stuff while at the beach. I got three chevron buckets at the Target $1 spot for storage and two roller phrase stamps.

I have almost finished assembling the mini kits for the swap. I had to make a last minute change to my line. Back to my original pick- Yes, Please.

Of course we should do something for NDS! I don't know what though
Ill send snap a pic when its all set up

Got 7 LOs done this weekend. Thank god for calling in sick or I would be sick from lack of sleep, working 7 days a week and being exhausted

hey girls! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

I didn't get as crafty as I had planned on Saturday. I ended doing a mountain of laundry and working on a PL-style baby album for a friend. My mom and I went to our favorite vintage boutique, which was super fun! I found SO much I wish I could have gotten

Last night I went with my cousins to my first ever drive-in movie! It was super fun! I'm bummed that I forgot my regular camera, though, because my phone just couldn't get decent photos.

It was nice outside today so my cousin & I took her kids to this outdoor shopping center and walked around, had lunch, and did a little shopping. I'm pooped now!

I agree that we need to do something epic for NSD - definitely a virtual crop, but maybe we can think of something else on top of that?!

Epic....I don’t know what is epic enough for this awesome group, but I can’t wait to see what we come up with!

Michelle-happy that you are safe from all the craziness. I would love to see all the new layouts.

Loni-glad you are all moved in, woot woot

Monica-sounds like you had a great weekend. Drive-in movies are so much fun to watch. October Afternoon would be a fun brand to use to scrapbook your experience even without pictures, make it a journaling layout.

Mellisa-waking up to screaming is not fun. Adaliah was sick Sunday, so she was up early crying all day. She's much better today though.

I was talking to my friend about NSD. I want to do an all day crop at my house with a couple of friends. I was thinking of looking up TwoPeas and doing the challenges they post and having them at the crop. I can't wait. May 4th has to get here already. LOL

Hope everyone has a great day!
