The winner for this round is kiwijester!!!!!!!!!!!

Peamail me your name and address!!!!

Prompts will now be open for two weeks!

I've decided to host a bi-weekly (twice a month) challenge thread here at Two Peas. The more you play, the more chances you have to win a small scrapping goody from me (and some others who are donating prizes!!) and the more pages you will get done!

Please link up your creation in this thread for a chance to win and I will also have a challenge box you can check during the upload process.
Look for **Stash Busters Challenge**

**You can combine all these prompts. Each prompt you use is good for one chance to win...so use 3 prompts on one layout = 3 chances to win!***

We all like to get comments on our pages so if you are playing along please try to find the time to return the favor!

**********************************************************************
Deadline for these challenges are MONDAY April 22nd by 11:59 pm PST

*********************************************************************

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~BONUS PROMPT FOR WEEK 2
Use red, white and blue on your layout. You can use other colors too but the focus should be on those 3. Scroll all the way down in the thread to see some page samples.
Prompt #1
Use at least 3 round embellishments on your page. Buttons, brads, doilies, punched circles, flair, candy dots etc.
Here's a pretty page by GG Paige Taylor Evans (link HERE)
or this awesome page by robkaynel(a Stashbuster!!) (link HERE)
Prompt #2
Use text or map patterned paper on your layout. As long as it has words or numbers on it, it counts. You could even design your own embellishments featuring the paper.
This one is digi but can easily be done with paper (By fruitysuet )
another map one by Margrethe
This page by Mary Ann Jenkins has text on it.
I think I pick a Mary Ann Jenkins layout every time. I really love her style. Her gallery is HERE
Prompt #3
Use a grid design for your page layout. I like these two layouts both by
Lisa Dickinson. Her blog is HERE
Prompt #4
Use product by the following manufacturers:
Jillibean Soup
Basic Grey
K & Co.
My Mind's Eye (MME)
Fancy Pants
Crate Paper
Nice selection of prompts.
BTW, were you thinking of adding one extra prompt in the second week? Just curious...
Congrats, Robkaynel!
I have not had time to scrap at all. But I am going to a crop on the 19th so will be able to sneak some in at the last minute. And maybe I can get something done this weekend.
I am in the process of buying a new car. My old car needs a new computer and it is too expensive to be worth it. So here I go with a car payment again. Oh, well. At least it will get me where I need to go. And I can scrap it!
No title Halloween
This one fits some Two Peas challenges. I just had some fun with some gesso and stamping and gold glitter embossing powder!
This page had a mind of its own. I started it with the idea of using a banner. As I worked on it one night, it just would not come together. The next day I tried it again without a banner. I just couldn't get it to come together. Then I thought to myself, "What this really needs in order to make it work is a banner." *bangs head on desk*
I give you Point Wilson Lighthouse
I'm submitting it for prompts 1 and 5. I used it in Janna Werner's challenge to use a banner.
@robkaynel. . .Congrats on winning!!!
@Marianne. . .you are welcome!
@Darkchami. . .just wanted you to know how much I enjoy reading your process explanations. . .they make me chuckle!
Sorry I have been MIA this challenge period...lots of appointments, errands (MEGA!) and ds' baseball games (always fun!). I had been working on a l/o and completely tore it apart last night before I went to bed!!! I knew everytime I looked at it I would wished I would have done it differently so I am going to rework it. I was hoping to get 2 done this time. We shall see! I am hoping to be able to leave some praise tonight!
Shout out to Sharmon (tpgirl)
Thanks so much for the scrapping goodies you sent! I'm definitely using them for prizes. It was so sweet of you!!
So, I was supposed to travel to Boston yesterday because my daughter is visiting colleges to make her final decision. That didn't really work out for us so we are home and I'm thinking I might hit the scrap desk sometime today.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Hi, folks!
Okay, I worked on this LO all day today - whew! Last weekend I had the inspiration for using this photo of some street art in town. My plan was to use white embossing powder and some arrow stamps to create a resist effect with acrylic paints in a colour wheel around the photo...except several of the stamps I wanted to use were in a new stamp set I had bought and hadn't yet arrived. Poohy. So I set the idea aside and thankfully my package of new goodies came earlier this week.
Anyway, I got up at 8:15am this morning (that just doesn't happen on weekends!) and set to work. Except, I really should have done a test run on some scrap paper... I got all the embossing done, applied the paint and then discovered that I probably should have watered down the paint as it wasn't resisting enough. Sigh. Tried it a second time, this time starting with the paint and then embossing - got the effect I was looking for but wasn't happy with it; it was too harsh and overpowering.
Take three, I completely scrapped (no pun intended ) the original concept and turned to my new Yes, Please collection of goodies. Much happier with this version now! And I got to play with a bunch of my new stuff - new washi tape, first time using a transparency and enamel dots (I'm addicted already).
Okay, need to rein myself in now (sorry, just had to share with those who would understand). Anyway, this LO covers the following:
I <3 Malmö - Prompts 1 (buttons & enamel dots), 4 (MME enamel dots) & 5 (Glitter Girl - no titles).
cengland..chalk it up to creative play. It happens to me too. Your finished layout came out great!!
I think resist works best when you use white embossing powder on white cardstock and then paint mist or watercolors over it...for a soft look.
Thanks, ScrapNyta.
Yeah, creative play is all good - just tiring! I was ready for a nap afterwards.
I did have a go with watercolours, too (got smart by that point and tested it on scraps) - it was a better look but in the end I decided to just abandon the original idea altogether. Perhaps I'll perfect it another time.
So, it looks like this is the challenge period of re-do's!!! I had this layout almost 3/4 done and knew that every time I looked at it I would have wished I had done it differently. First time around I dropped mist drops in the upper right and lower left corners. The pink I used was WAY TOO PINK (FUSCHIA!). I even tested it on a piece of scrap and STILL used it! Not sure WHAT I was thinking! It looked almost red on the white background paper. And I remembered that GG said that she almost never used red mist in that way as it turns out looking like a crime scene and she was right! And when I stitched the tags on, I sewed beyond the tag on either side and it just looked too messy. I am MUCH happier with version #2!!! And it looks like this is the only one I am going to get to this time around.
@CEngland. . .I enjoyed reading your play by play description of what happened with your l/o!!
So this l/o fits Prompt #1 Use at Least 3 Round Embellishments. Mine are the flair and the 2 black pearls. This picture is of my 17 year old son posing with mannequins at Penney's. He has a great sense of humor. TFL!
"You Make Me Laugh" l/o update. . .after looking at the grouping of clothing tags at the bottom, I realized that the bottom 2 tags looked like they were floating (I really didn't think so at first since I considered them part of the grouping as a whole if you know what I mean!) so, anyway, I put a piece of green with white polka dot washi tape under the top of the dragon tag and it touches the right side of the "Famous" tag. I like it much better but I don't feel like reloading it!
SnappyScrappy, I like how your final LO came out. And I can see what you mean about the floating - washi tape really is fab for those sorts of situations, as I've fixed those exact problems with it before, too.
I was actually thinking over my LO this morning and remembered that I have some heart rub-ons that might help to add a bit more depth and interest to my page from yesterday. Still toying with the idea of going back and adding them in but haven't full decided/committed to it yet. I really should wait a day or two before photographing and uploading LOs for just these sorts of reasons.
Hi stashbusters!!
I've missed you guys!
Marianne great prompts this week- I have been so busy and MIA dealing with the house repairs, my kid's spring break, my family visiting and my hubs work schedule. I also have been dealing with something awful and personal - I'm okay but I can't share details cause it's an open case here in Florida- yes a police case - blaaaaah. Nothing I did wrong- lol- you're not scrapping with a felon....just I am involved as a victim. But I'm okay. I've actually been a scrapping fool lately and have 10 completed layouts for April so far, plus some 8x10 lo's and my wedding smashbook I've been tinkering in.
I've uploaded a few more recent ones - but gonna wait until the next round to jump back in. Xo!!
After a five year break, I'm back baby!!! Now help Bellies get her Groove back....
SnappyScrappy, I always like reading about the processes that others have gone through. I also need to laugh at myself. Creating is such a wonderful frustrating ordeal.
I don't think I'll be getting another project done this week. I did 2 layouts for a gift book that I gave earlier this week. Sadly, they didn't fit into any of the challenges. However, it felt really good to get that book done!
