I'm getting ready to film my next few Project Life videos for Two Peas, and I usually try to answer a question that someone has asked on the boards, whether it's about color or supplies or process.

Are there any topics you'd like to suggest or would like to see in an upcoming Project Life video? Any particular supplies you'd like to see used? I'm totally open to suggestions!

Maybe something on selecting which type of page protector to use? I tend to just print my photos, and then decide which style of protector works best (vertical 4x6, horizontal, 4x4 spaces, etc.). But I think it might work better if I decided the protector first, then printed. I would be curious to hear about someone else's thought process.

Also, what about those weeks when only one spread is needed, but the next week needs two? What's the best way to handle that, without totally messing up the album's organization?

Thanks for asking, and for the great videos!

I'd love to see how you would use stamps. Letter stamps, cameras, words arrows etc (getting some in my PL kits and I never seem to use them). Thanks for asking

I too would like to see what to do with a LO that only took one page one week, but two pages the next week. I'm new to PL, having started this month, and I can see this issue coming up - but I have no idea how to deal with it. Lol

I just started PL this year and I'm doing 1 12 x 12 page per week. I try to make the facing pages coordinate somewhat colorwise. Do you color coordinate all your pages. I did not purchase a Becky Higgins kit, I'm using various products, so though my facing pages coordinate the whole album doesn't. Do you have any suggestions so that my album won't look too mismatched?

I would like to see a video for those of us just now switching from traditional to Project Life scrapbooking. I'm a little overwhelmed and I don't think I'm alone.

Since I don't print my photos at home, I have to rely on using services to print mine in batches. My problem is trying to figure out how to make the photos fit in the particular page protector- not enough verticals to warrant using a 6x4 protector but some of the verticals are essential to my story but then too large to fit in the 3x4 slot..... Did that make any sense?

Balancing the colors on a two page spread.

Deciding how many pockets to use for photos and how many to leave for design.

How to decide how much white space to leave on design cards -- or just generally the density of the design.

I would love fresh ideas for ending and beginning multiple volumes of PL. I know I will have two albums for 2013 and not sure how to transition to the second volume.

LOVE these ideas, guys!! Thank you so much for helping me out with video topics!

Several of these have gone straight on the list, and I have some questions about a few others. Also, a few I think I've covered in previous videos (I'll link those below), but if there's something else about that topic that I didn't cover, I'll be glad to give it another shot- just let me know!

@sreidy911 - I use just one type of page protector throughout my whole album- Design A (though lately I've been tempted to swap over to ones with just 4x6 pockets), and then print photos based on that. It's *so* much easier for me that way, and I covered why/how I do that in my January and February videos. LOVE your question about weeks that only use one page but the next week uses 2, and I've got that going on the list for sure!

@Miss Kathy - I don't use a Becky Higgins kit, either, and I use different supplies every week and my layouts are WILDLY different from each other . I can, however, come up with some ideas to make your album flow and will try to work them into a video soon - awesome idea, thank you!

@LindaB- Are you swapping over totally to PL, or just adding it to your scrapping? Is there a specific part that overwhelms you? Choosing photos, photo sizes, printing, or something else? Do you want to print photos at odd sizes (non 4x6) or just stick with 4x6? Would something like a recipe with a set number of photos in specific sizes, a certain number of journaling cards, a certain number of fillers, etc., and a formula or sketch for putting it all together (sort of a template for the week) be useful to you? I did cover my entire Project Life organization and process in my January video and then printing in February, but they're a bit long and probably overwhelming for someone just starting out. If you'll let me know where you could use some help simplifying (I can always go back to good old Design A with 7- 4x6 photos, a title card, a filler, and 7 journaling cards- the simplest form!), I'll be totally happy to help!

@summerbellies- I print from a developer, too, and I *think* I covered what you're asking about in my February video on photo printing. If there's something else that you're wondering about printing, just let me know!

Just for reference:

January Video - covers organization (in scary depth!) in the first video and a layout in the second, including how I decide to arrange photos

February Video - the first video talks about color balance in a layout, among other things, and the second is how I choose and print photos to send to a lab for processing (I very rarely print at home).

March Video - there's a bit about color balancing here

April Video - making colors work with crazy different photos, and a bit more about color balance

Again, LOVE the ideas, guys!! Thank you so much! And if you have more, keep them coming!

Yes, stamping definitely and I would also love to see someone using digital stamps and brushes in PL. I think we could design some great journaling cards.

Thanks

I love videos that talk about process. I usually find them really insightful.

I too would love to hear thoughts on the 1 page/2 page problem mentioned above. I am doing mine monthly but also working backwards into pre-digital days, and some months I don't have enough photos for a 2-page spread - right up against a month that I do.

I've been sticking to Design A just because its easier to have all my photos in one orientation printed at the same size (I send out my photos for printing) but I would love to see some discussion about mixing up the page designs as sometimes I have some really great vertical shots, and it's a shame that they're printed so small (always 3x4).

Also about printing - as mentioned I always print my photos at 4x6 and 3x4 (and these days I have LOTS to choose from). But I love the look in the GG videos where the photo is a bit smaller and each pocket insert is sort of a mini layout, if that makes sense? I'd love to know what the thought process is when you prepare your images for printing, how do you decide what gets printed at what size? and things along that line. I have to admit, PL takes much more thought (and pre-planning) than I ever realized it would!

And I just wanted to say - THANK YOU so much for your video about printing multiple photos on a single canvas in Lightroom, I had no idea it could do that before and you have saved me so much time and work! (Previously I was exporting all my photos to PSE and doing it there.)

I probably didn't pay attention to the color balancing information because I was too fascinated by your lightroom printing technique. It is such a timesaver!!! That video cost me money though because I tried the trial of Lightroom 4 to follow along with the video. I liked the other features of it so much that I upgraded from 3 to 4.

I print most photos both in 4x6 and 3x4 so I have both sizes available to me when I sit down to scrap, so your lightroom workflow has really helped me. I've printed so many more photos since I watched your lightroom video.

I also set up a 4x6 template that has a really thick white border so I end up with a print size between 3x4 and 4x6 if I need it.

Thank you so much for sharing your info.

Diane

I'd be interested in seeing what photos/stories etc make the cut in a spread! why do you chose to include what you did and not the rest (I'm assuming you're like me and take way too many photos!)

I would love some tips on catching up. I won't tell you how far behind I am. But it's bad. I really enjoy PL but sometimes other things take priority and I fall behind. Then it feels so overwhelming trying to catch up I feel like I'm spinning my wheels when I am working on it and then *that* overwhelms me. So any tips for us slackers would be great.

I love the two peas videos but some how haven't been able to get through a Project Life one - maybe incorporate a Catch Up on Project Life theme - I would probably watch that. Or how to do embellishing before or after with scraps and for speed.

I wanted to thank everyone again for their great suggestions here! I've got notes and lists of topics to cover for the next several months now.

I started off tackling your questions with a look at stamping, and I thought I'd link it up (you'll find the video here), just in case you hadn't seen it yet.

Hi Melissa! I'm loving how you're incorporating the Peas requests into your Project Life videos. Thanks so much!

I'd love for you to touch upon how I can still make a spread look "artsy" and creative when there's photos in almost every slot. I find that when there isn't a balance of photos and journal/filler cards the spread just looks like a photo album...

Oh I love this thread! And I love the twopeas PL vids! I watch them as often as they come out.

I have a huge question. ^_^ I recently started my first PL album (in June) and have been working at both ends of my album to catch up. But I'm feeling like it's a daunting task! And now that I'm trying to go back and journal photos and events from the beginning of the year (and in theory, last year and the year before) - I'm finding journaling to be *extremely* difficult as I didn't take good notes, and things tend to blur together. On top of that there are weeks that I completely missed photos.

So, I would love some tips for journaling without telling a complete story! Any way to get over my compulsiveness would be great. I'm wanting to make sure that I've got each week of the year covered, but I am at a loss for journaling when I don't know what happened during that week.

Also, any quick tips for trying to catch up?

I would like to see a video on how to use PL to go back and scrap older pictures instead of right now. I am using it to organize pictures from the 80s and 90s. What do you do with 3 1/2 by 5 photos or actual Polaroid prints (which fall apart if you crop them)? What kinds of journaling and embellishments? If you use a variety of page protectors, what do you do when your photos' orientation do not match the left side pocket page protector?

First of all, I have watched (and re-watched) many of your videos as I have just begun PL myself. It is a really different approach from all my other crafting venues...12 x 12 layouts, mini books and card making. I am still stuck on unifying my album, especially since I have really just started and have only 3 two page weekly spreads completed. What should I do to feel like 2013 is completed? I have some weeks with no photos, some with hundreds. My memories are now not as clear about the everyday, something I like about PL. What do you suggest to catch up for a mid year start?
