Welcome to the Chatty Scrappers thread! Spring is finally here!!! We are a chatty group of ladies and we love to encourage each other as we scrap by praising each other's layouts. We'll be posting various challenges each month to prompt us to scrap and everyone is welcome to add a challenge, a game or just chat along with us. All you need to do is introduce yourself to our group and jump right in!

Bookmarks challenge

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

For this month's challenge, go to the first page of your bookmarks and really look it over. Take the layout that just screams out the most and use it. For an extra twist, since it's Mother's Day this month, do a layout about your favorite Mother right now. This doesn't have to be yours (we won't tell), it could be a grandmother, an aunt, a friend that just goes above and beyond with her kids or even yourself. You don't have to totally lift the layout from your Bookmarks, let any part of it inspire you; use it as a sketch or just the colors or the theme, let the layout decide! You'll be amazed what it will do on its own.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

Sketch challenge

Color challenge

Use the colors in the photo below to create a LO or project.

Scrap Yourself Challenge

For this month's challenge, let's scrap a page about the little things in life that make you happy right now. A lot of the time we are the people missing from our pages, so let's have some fun scrapping stuff we love.

Use Your Stuff Challenge!

Instead of letting those new supplies become part of your stash...I'm challenging you to break out the most recent product that you bought and use it!!!

************************************************************
Since National Scrapbook Day is coming up, it would also be great if we participate in the festivities here on 2 Peas and link the LO's to this thread so that we can show each other some love.

Thanks so much for visiting our thread!

Wow, just had a total stranger come to the door selling Avon! I know we live in a small area but in this crazy world I think as a female I'd be nervous just driving around and stopping at people's houses. Have to wonder if she would have came inside if I asked her to. Of course, she could be a criminal too, have had people's homes broken into before by people stopping and asking to use the phone (accomplice robbed while the other person had the homeowner distracted with chit chat).

Good Morning Peas!!!

I hope you are having a happy Wednesday!!! Only a couple of days until the NSD fun begins. Are any of you planning to go to a crop or do the 2 Peas challenges? I took off Friday afternoon so that I can play along. I just need to get some photos printed up and I'll be ready to go....and I NEED to go to A's to see what new goodies they have gotten in lately.

I hope you all have a great day! If anyone has additional challenges that you want me to post, send me an email or Peamail.

Theresa- I am amazed someone still has the guts to go door-to-door. I'd be too scared. And those approached probably just as wary.

Tina - Glad to hear you are finally taking a bit of time for yourself. You deserve it. I'm hoping to play along Saturday and a bit of Sunday morning. My dad has invited us to a bbq at his place this weekend, so I'm trying to persuade him Sunday afternoon is good.

Nylene, hope you feel better soon and it's not anything more than just a day of blahs. Think I'm having one of those too. Can't say I'm ill, just don't feel well either.

Got the lawn tractor out to mow and the darn thing won't work. Called my brother, he thinks it's time for the professionals to work on it. REALLY hate to spend that kind of money but have to have a mower. Called them and they said they'd send someone over to get it. Over three hours later still waiting. Would have liked to have taken a nap but couldn't. Did sit in the yard and read my book (Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah). I've had it for years after getting it from a friend that recommended it. Really have enjoyed it. Would make a good mini series.

Debi, they started adding digi stuff back here on 2P's. Not sure how I feel about that. Feel bad for the people that they had just hired on that lost their jobs but at the same time, happy to see they are going to give us some freebies.

Local pizza place has a sale today so that's what we're doing for dinner.

Guess that's all the chatty I have in me right now.

Good day. Life has been a bit crazy around here, and it isn't slowing down today either. Tina thanks for getting the thread up; I'll send along a challenge as soon as I can dig out some time.

I'm running to an eye appointment right now (actually 2 of them) back to back. And I have to stop at the dentist's office and give them more documentation on my financial status; stop by Office Depot and buy printer ink and poster display board for the boys' science project; and the bank Then it's home, dinner, and science project write-up supervision.

Who was it that said science projects are fun? NOT!

NYLENE I hope you are feeling better soon.

THERESA hope they get your mower fixed and back before rain makes you wait longer to mow.

THERESA I peeked at the digi store but it's just a few cut files mostly by HeroArts and the few new products, also by HeroArts, are only here for MAY, Afraid I'm not interested. I'm definitely not hurting for product, and if any of you want some great free digi products, check out the bloghops...pixels and co. are doing a big one.

Alright I've stayed long enough so need to run. Have a great day.

Do you know when 2Peas will be posting NSD challenges? I have to work during the day all weekend, but if I'm not too tired I may try some. I did get some scrapping done last month, but I'm too lazy to get them uploaded. Sorry! Maybe I'll still put them up sometime.

Cold here for May 1st - supposed to get in the 20's tonight. Winter coat all day at work today. We could use some precip. but I want it to be warmer.

Nylene - hope you are feeling better.
Theresa - we have people selling Avon here, but I know who they all are. If it were a stranger I wouldn't let them in the house.

Sorry I didn't get the challenge in time for the new thread! It has been both crazy and busy around here. I'm really looking forward to a weekend of scrapping for National Scrapbook Day!

Technique Challenge

Your challenge is to punch a bunch of a single shape from a variety of patterned papers and use them together on a layout or card.

Recently, I cleaned out my scrap pile but I felt guilty for throwing so many away (recycling, actually!). So I took out my heart and butterfly punches and punched a whole lot of shapes from the scraps. In no time at all, I had 4 baby cards made!

Hi,

I'm completely new to Chatty Scrappers (actually I'm pretty new to the Two Peas forums), hope it's okay for me to just pop in like this!

Just wondering about the "Use Your Stuff" Challenge. Does that apply if you're using a kit from monthly kit club?

Hey girls -

omgosh, I can't believe I totally forgot about May 1st and new sketches....that is how out of it I was this past weekend and the couple of days I spent lying around trying to recover from this pink eye crap...it was a doozy (sp) this time!

I will send some tonight. I've had to set my alarm clock for later as I'm just really tired these days, so I don't have much time in the mornings now.

Truly sorry.

Love you all.

Good morning Peas!

I wanted to run by before I head to the office to post Diana's color challenge...I love the photo and colors that she picked this month. I will try to resize it.

Vishae - Welcome to the Chatty Scrappers!!! You can definitely use goodies from a kit. We aren't picky at all, we just try to encourage each other to do some scrapping.

It is beautiful here this morning...it's sunny and supposed to be 75 later today. It always makes me feel happy when it's so nice out...I love spring!!!

Monica - I love the challenge that you put up this month, that is right up my alley. I'm going to work on it tonight.

Announcement: In honor of NSD being this month, I am going to send a prize out at the end of the month!!! To qualify, just complete at least 3 challenges (either ours or the NSD one's from the Garden Girls and link them to this thread. At the end of the month I'll draw a winner!!!

Well, I'm off to start a busy day! Have a good one ladies.

Welcome Serena, we're pretty flexible here, just want a place to encourage scrapping and each other in daily life.

Randy's playing golf today with his Dad and I think I'm going to tackle the scraproom. Have my monthly crop tomorrow night and would like to be able to start on vacation photos--IF I can find them on that messy desk.

One of my niece's called last night, she wants to make a scrapbook for my nephew's girlfriend's graduation so I'll need to have stuff together before she comes over. This album will be for the gal that I'm making the prom corsage for which I also need to get done! Good incentive to get the room as organized as it can be with so much stuff in a small space.

Nylene, hope you feel better today.

Hi all!

Serena - jump right in. Any new scrappy item counts.

Theresa - hope you got that mower sorted. And the scrap room. You seem so busy organising everything in your house, I'm surprised there is still a mess somewhere Glad to hear you are normal after all, lol.

Nylene - hope you are feeling better.

Toni- Pinkeye is the pits! DH had it a while back and he looked like some monster from the deep. I'll post a photo on FB sometime. Don't want to horrify you all here. I can't believe it is May already... time is just flying by this year.

Melanie - Hey, no fair! You can't scrap and not share...

Need to get the boys through a bath. It is raining here so I'm looking forward to snuggling up under the duvet tonight. Winter is on it's way here...

Howdy, VENT I need to VENT!!!!

My week can't not get any worse? or maybe it can.
Monday, my lovely son told me that he lost his scholarship, due to low GPA. That blew me over the top, specially since I was there all weekend with him and not once did he mentioned his gpa was low. I asked him how he did on his finals and he said well. I asked him how work was and if he was sure he wanted to stay there all summer alone he said yes, I bough him food for the 2 months before I went back to visit.
He did say he had an appointment with the counselor Monday morning but it was just about his classes. Noooooooooooooooo!!!!! I was more upset about his lie than about loosing the scholarship, and the "genius" signed the lease agreement for another year knowing that without that scholarship he would have to go to school here. Where he should of stayed in the first place. What is in his brain? How can someone so smart be so stupid? Now I found him a job at a Hospital doing the IT thing he knows how to do, and he had to go the the local College which is pretty good by the way, get his GPA up to a 2.78 something like that, not too high just a B. and he will be able to get it back and go to FIU. I'm so upset at this kid.

Then all week I have been complaining of a horrible toothache, Broke down today after 4 days of excruciating pain on a tooth and drove myself to the dreaded dentist and $790 later I have a crown, thankfully they were able to do this instead of a root canal for $1475 and these prices are with insurances. How do people do it, no wonder there are so many people without teeth out there. Trust me I wanted it pulled and be minus one tooth, but Natalie begged me this morning not to do that, and the dental assistant was quite handsome and said I was too young for that. So the office manager gave me a payment plan.

My mouth is killing me now but I know it will get better.

Tina...Thanks for getting the challenge up, the 1st just came way too soon.

Serena..Welcome

Michelle it's been raining here everyday.

Ladies going to pick up here at work and go home, I'm in a lot of pain.
Have a great day.

Diana,

That is a rough week!!! I hope that at least your mouth quits hurting soon. I actually tried to convince Mallory that she wanted to be a dentist because they seem to have it pretty good to me. They make a good chunk and don't have to deal with the malpractice costs like doctors, most have decent hours too. If only she didn't hate the smell of the dentists office so much, I might have been successful.

You would think that he would have told you what was going on with his grades, I would've been really upset too, especially since he lied to you about it. He had to have known that you would be finding out very soon that there was a serious problem with his scholarship. Is he going to be able to get out of that lease?

Toni - I hope the pink eye passes soon...that is not fun! I used to get it all of the time when I was younger, it's sooo not pretty.

I guess I should make a move to feed the family...catch you all later.

Tina

Hi all, I wanted to let you know that I'm going through what I think may be a lengthy bout of lost mojo. The only time it ever happened like this before was in 2003-04 and I only made a few cards for eight months during that period. But when I started scrapbooking again after that, I had a much fresher perspective and went like crazy with it for nine years. So, I'm thinking it's just time for another break. I may keep up on my art journal, and I amy even have something posted for NSD this weekend still, I don't know.

Hopefully though, I will be getting my freelance public relations business officially launched in the meantime. I'm really close to that happening!

Well I didn't get the scraproom done, not even close, and Michelle, I am nowhere near organized when it comes to this nasty house and I have never been normal! Randy only played 9 holes so he came home early and we went to Evansville. I did get the flowers to make my nephew's girlfriend Sarah's prom wrist corsage and a DCWV wedding slab (still haven't done Jeremy and Kate's, maybe it'll encourage me). We went out to eat then came back and I went to Jackson's Spring band concert. Really enjoyed it. The 6th grade (his group) played first (with only 2 practices) then the 7th and 8th grade played. Both were really impressive. These kids get up in the high school band and watch out!

morning girls -

sent Tina some sketches; I hope they'll come in handy for those of you who participate in NSD. I hope to do something although scrapping doesn't seem to be top on my list of things to do right now. It's not lack of challenges either as they're all over everywhere if you want to play, I just can't seem to get with it. We only have 14 more days of school or so, so maybe by then I'll get back on the wagon.

Nylene - I sure hope you're feeling better.

Michelle - Yeah, I looked like one of those ugly monsters too...although I wasn't even able to really look at myself, LOL, my eye was so bad We definitely didn't take pics either, LOL! I already don't photograph well, LOL.

Ok, I'm off.

Happy TGIF!

Morning all. The base for the wrist corsage that Sarah bought won't work with the flower arrangements so it'll mean a trip back to a Hobby Lobby or somewhere before I can give it to her. Did get Andrew's boutonniere done. Thought about running to Owensboro today but doesn't look like it is going to happen. We're going to see Iron Man Sunday afternoon, I'll try Joann's then. I'm tired this morning. Had trouble sleeping last night so when I woke up at 5:30 this morning I went back to bed. Tossed and turned but did sleep some more. Will be dragging all day I'm sure and have the monthly crop tonight. May take a nap this afternoon. For now, I'm sitting on my butt drinking coffee and playing on the computer.

Here's a list of the site's 2P's NSD Challenge list

Good evening ladies!!!

Theresa, we saw Iron Man tonight thought it was really good. It's definitely action-packed. I hope you guys like it too!

I'll be back in the morning, I want to do some of the NSD activities. I thought about going to A's to do some scrapping tomorrow, but I decided that I don't want to take the time to pack my stuff up...so I'll be playing from here. I just have to stay off the computer so tha I can get some LO's done. I haven't scrapped much lately, so I hope to find my mojo.

See you all tomorrow!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day all! Pouring down rain outside. That means no field day for baseball (happy, happy, happy) and no helping friends from church move. Actually they may still be moving but I'm not going out in the rain to move people I don't really know. I'm nice, but not THAT nice. Looks like I can stay in a scrap a few of the challenges this morning. Randy wants to go see Iron Man 3 this evening instead of waiting until tomorrow since his work schedule changed and he had to go in earlier. Would be nice if I didn't have to get out of the house at all today but what ya gonna do.

Here's a list of the site's NSD challenges so you don't have to search for them. Just a note, one of their challenges is to use your Bookmarks so you can do it for my challenge too.

Aww, Diana, what a mess! And here is seemed DS was coping so well. Hope he can salvage his grade even though the scholarship is gone. And you can get out of the lease or maybe sub-let?

Ellen - hey, not scrapping is no excuse not to chat! Maybe something you see will inspire you? And if it doesn't, well, we've all had times where scrapping isn't high on our priority list...

Theresa- LOL! It was meant VERY tongue in cheek, don't worry. Just sounded like your life was getting progressively more under control while mine is still spiralling.

Had to laugh at the Bookmarks challenge for NSD. Think they stole our idea? Won't be too difficult for our group, hey?

I'm finally here for the evening. it is 7pm already but I'm gonna be here chatting and scrapping as long as I can keep my eyes open. Dang the time difference...

Still scrapping although I did just get a message on FB that says my church friends are moving today in the rain so I feel a little guilty. A little, not enough to go out in the cold rain. If it was still in the 80's, yeah, but not 46 degree rain.

I did my Bookmark's Challenge with a card that Nylene made. I tried to incorporate an Echo Park challenge from their blog so I used their papers. Really like Nylene's card better so I'll make another one that looks just like hers too.

don't faint... I'm popping on to tell my fav Chatty Scrappers Happy NSD day!

We had a 9am ball game. (We won 12-10). then stopped for a celebration lunch. Gary is camping with boy scout adult leadership camp, so going to get my scrapping going and then Rebecca to tutoring and then scrap the day away after. Already told the kids it's cereal for dinner.

Happy NSD to all of you. I wish I felt like scrapping. Antibiotics are starting to kick in but I still feel lousy. I always look forward to this day and all the fun challenges. I hope to work on some later in the week. Have fun scrapping. I miss you all.

The movie was great. Will watch for the kid in it in the future. He's a star.

Nylene, so sorry you're sick. Get some rest and take all your meds.

Tammy sounds like you've had a busy day!

Hey girls -

Theresa - I'm really looking forward to IM3; I've only heard great things about it. Glad you got some scrappin' going on.

Nylene - sorry you're not doing so well, sweetie. Seems like you've been sick a little more than usual this year. I sure hope you start feeling better soon. I'm sorry you're missing on NSD, too.

Tina - thanks for posting the sketches. Sorry they were late. Hope you're home scrappin' away

Tammy - Good to see you.

Lindy - Hope you'll start to feel better soon.

Debi, Michelle, Diana, Monica B - Hope you're all scrappin' today.

I did one page, but it really took a long time to get done, so I think I'll take a little break...I wouldn't be surprised if I fell asleep, LOL. I was really hoping to get a couple done today, but that seems unlikely.

Anyway, I did Challenge #7 and lifted one of Shimelle's pages - Just love her work

Let's Ride

I'll probably be back later. Maybe I'll get a burst of energy....LOL.
I hope we'll be seeing more creations from everyone.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I really miss everyone...sigh. I really don't like the FB connection for this...I'm lost with it.
Anyway...
hugs, all.

Toni, I use FB but I don't like to do the Chatty Scrappers over there. I prefer right here at "home" where we belong.

Hello! Just now checking out the NSD stuff. My schedule is just not allowing me to play. At least the dealines are later so maybe I can do one. I did the Pinterest list but other than that nothing yet.

Have you ever been so tired that you couldn't sleep? I was that last night.

Cold here yet and cold in the store. Wearing my winter coat.

Hope you feel better soon Nylene.
Diana - sorry your son is not doing well in school at the moment. Those scholarships are SO important with how much college costs these days.

Hello Toni, Michelle, Debi, Tina and everyone else!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Woke up at 4 a.m. with a headache and it's gotten worse as the morning progressed. Didn't go to church because my heart beat is pounding so hard in my ears that I figured the music would just make it worse. Looks like a lazy day at home for me.

Hi Everyone. Happy NSD weekend.

I did 3 LOs yesterday. None for 2peas though. Hope you get some scrapping done. Here are my 3 pages:

Just Us Girls

Puyallup Fair

A Joyful Life

MELANIE 2peas gives you the full week to complete challenges so you have time. You may miss the chats that happened on Saturday, I did too, but the challenges are still open.

NYLENE sorry you are not feeling well. Hope that turns around soon.

MONICA B fun challenge-I'll have to take you up on that one.

SERENA--WELCOME! COME JOIN US ANYTIME interpretations of the challenges are open...you can do whatever you want, even NOT a challenge listed, and share it here. we love to see what people are working on.

MAY got away from most of us...LOL I've still yet posted a digi challenge...sorry.

TINA that's very sweet of you to offer a prize for motivation...LOVE it! If I stayed off the computer, I wouldn't get ANY LOs done....LOL

THERESA sounds like you have several projects to work on. You're going to get so busy you won't have time to work...LOL

Thanks for the list of 2peas challenges...I'll have to see if I get motivated to do any.

And THERESA if it makes you feel any better, I wouldn't help move friends in the pouring rain either....LOL

Maybe you should send the card to NYLENE.

MICHELLE it's so funny to me that we have opposite weather...you're getting rain just as we're finally seeing some sunshine.

DIANA I'd be livid if my kids did this and didn't tell me...but life has a way of teaching us lessons, some we don't want to learn....LOL Sorry your son lost his scholarship. Sounds like he enjoys being on his own, but hasn't mastered the responsibilities of keeping up with school and work yet. Are you able to get out of the lease? How does he feel about transferring to the local college? Maybe the new It Job and the smaller college will be a better fit...so will he move back home?

And I share your pain with your teeth and the financial burden fixing them cause. As you know, MONICA B and I have been having lots of tooth issues. Because I suffer from dry mouth due to the years of having RA, my teeth literally are disintegrating...and I don't have insurance. Around $3K to do a root canal and crown out-of-pocket which of course I can't afford. Even pulling the teeth is relatively expensive, and then you have no teeth...not a pretty option. I'm still trying to hold the abscesses at bay while I find a way to deal with my teeth. It can be completely debilitating though if you get an abscess and very dangerous if not dealt with. Glad you are feeling better and hope the mouth calms down quickly. I am surprised that they could do a crown without a root canal if the tooth was causing that much pain though...interesting.

ELLEN so sorry you have lost your mojo but that happened to me while I was going through my divorce...I didn't scrap at all for 4 years (now that's some depresson!) then I switched to digi which helped make it easier to scrap and less expensive too on my severely dwindled budget. Take a breather then try some challenges. I'm sure we will see you creating again soon.

TONI I'm not into NSD this year either. Too many things going on. How's the pink eye?

TAMMY nice to see you. Isn't this weekend's weather awesome?

Ok I'm caught up with Praise. And now I need some fuel (food) or I'll just fall asleep.

Head still hurts but the throbbing has stopped. I was able to eat dinner so that's a good thing. Still in my jammies and that's a good thing too, LOL.

I did scrap, digitally so I didn't have to try to use scissors. Took me a couple of hours but I'm happy with the results. I combined two of the NSD Challenges and used one of Toni's Sketches, so whoo hoo for 3 challenges in one!!!

4D Fun

Alisha, welcome.

Going to go back and catch up on praise and then get off the computer.

Hmmm my last post didn't post; must not have hit submit...

Anyway I'm all praised up and done catching up with my soap operas and the last couple episodes of grey's anatomy. Now I've got nothing else to watch so it's either go to bed or scrap. It's 10:30 so it's a toss up.

Got to 83 here today...hot hot hot for us. Supposed to be nice tomorrow too.
