Happy May Day! Hang a flower on your neighbor's door, and enjoy the sunshine & warmth!

Who are the Young Scrappers? We are a group of "young" 20-something to 30-something year old girls who created a group to share our interest in scrapbooking! We take the "young" part lightly - it's all about how young you feel. Feel free to join in the chat! Just post an intro so we know who you are. And post links to your layouts here - we love to share our work & leave some praise!

-------------------------------

We are continuing our challenge for the year:

For the Pinspiration Challenge, we collaborated to create a list of 52 challenges - one for each week this year! The challenges were based off of layouts we had pinned on Pinterest or bookmarked online. It is a way to use some of that inspiration we are constantly pinning on Pinterest!

There really are no rules with this challenge! It is more just a way to motivate each other to scrapbook. Choose challenges from the list that you feel inspired by, create something, and share it with us! The goal is to see how many challenges you can complete in one year.

Here is the link to the challenge list to download: challenge sheet

And here is the Pinterest board with all the challenges and sample layouts: Pinspiration challenge on Pinterest

Every month, we will have a hostess to keep us motivated. For May, our hostess is LISA! Here are the details for this month:

Welcome to May Ladies! May is NSD month, so let's get those scrappy projects done and inspiration flowing! This month I want you to continue with Monica's spring theme, and start using more of those spring colors! Let's use those blue's, green's, pink's and yellow's! This month's kit includes:

- Use blue, green, yellow and pink! Use this image as your inspiration to make your kit this month!

- Let's find those polka dots! Include some kind of item that has polka dots for a future challenge

- Grab some supplies that have been in your stash for a while!

- Grab some mists/paints. We're going to get messy this month!

- Look for those letter stickers. We want to use those up from our stash for a future challenge as well!

Upload the layouts you make for the challenges that I will list each week to the gallery, because at the end of the month I will choose a winner (or two!) for a small RAK! Just remember to click the checkbox for the "YS May Challenges" each time you upload a layout!

//Challenges//

Week 1 (May 1-4):
#44 from the YS Pinterest challenge: Have your title be the focus of the page

Week 2:
#53 from the YS Pinterest challenge: Scrap a 12x12 LO using papers from a 6x6 paper pad.

Week 3:
Using this layout as inspiration, scraplift it but with as many polka dots as you can!

//Discussion//

Scrappy: If you had to have one new item from the Spring/Summer CHA, which would it be?

Non-Scrappy: What is your biggest goal you'd like to accomplish this year?

Hey there ladies! Lisa great first challenge for the month. I will get started on mine tonight. Love spring colors, but I might jut go with what inspires me to scrap because my main goal this month is to finish both my daughters first year albums and do a little bit extra scrapping if possible.

If I had one new CHA product I would say Simple Stories new summer line~ I heart summer. It's perfect and I have idea buzzing all around my head for that line. I also love the Heidi Swapp serendipity line too.

One of my biggest goals for the year I guess is to buy a house and decor one room at a time.

Right now, I really want Studio Calico's Atlantic line. And Simple Stories Vintage Bliss.

Hi girls. I've had a death in the family, so my plans are changing for the weekend. I won't volunteer to host a game for that reason. I may not be around ( or feel like scrapping, you know?) Talk to you later! Happy May!

Hellloooo may!

I'm a bit behind on times... kind of fell behind last month with life things. I hate how life always catches up to you like that! Anyways! As many of you know (or maybe don't know!) I'm your host for the month! I'm excited to be your host and I hope I can provide enough inspiration to make it through the month for us!

Loni: -BIG HUGS- I hope you're doing okay! I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Monica: I will do my recipe challenge I just can promise you that I won't be there for 10 AM eastern... as that is 8 AM here... and i'd like to sleep in atleast a bit!

Hmmm, I swear I clicked "Submit" but my post disappeared...

Hi, I'm pretty new (to 2P Forum and Scrapbooking) so please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.

I'm interesting in learning more about the games/challenges for NSD. This would be my first NSD ever. How do I join as a participant?

I'm actually from Australia, so it would be 3am over here when things get started for you guys. But since I'm a nightowl and it's a Saturday night, the late hours shouldn't be a problem for me.
To be honest, it might even be better as Saturday is our Better Homes & Garden Expo and Amy Tangerine is visiting. So I definitely wouldn't be at my computer during the day.

Good Morning! Happy May! I love the month of May but that could be because it is my birthday month and my husband's. We will both be 28. His birthday was yesterday not much celebrating for him as he was in the fields (I'm like a single parent) this time of year because farming is extremely busy getting all the crops planted.

Loni - So sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I would love to participate not host on NSD because I'm still new to all these things. This is my first NSD that I'm participating in. I'm going to be going to a crop tomorrow from 5-9 to setup/work and then Saturday, 9-4 which I'm so excited for!!

Discussion items:
Scrappy: If you had to have one new item from the Spring/Summer CHA, which would it be? The Simple Stories Vintage Bliss line I'm in with the colors of it.

Non-Scrappy: What is your biggest goal you'd like to accomplish this year? To finish paying off my debt which I'm almost there and then lose 30-50 lbs.

Have a wonderful day!!

So excited about this weekend - I wish it was Friday already! We are supposed to get snow tonight (yes, in May ), so I am going to get stocked up on food & snacks today and then get my space organized.

Ruthie- Just sent you a peamail back with the info!

Loni- Yeah, you might feel better chatting with us - get your mind off it. Hugs!

Tessa- Yay for birthday month! And how fun about the crop. I considered going to scrap with some friends, but then I decided that I don't feel like hauling everything with me!

Serena- That will be interesting scrapping at the crack of dawn with us! I definitely don't blame you for going to meet Amy T, though. Exciting!

Wow, can't believe it's May already! April sure did go by fast.

Loni - So sorry to hear about your loss.. sending you hugs!

I mentioned in the April thread I'd like to participate in the NSD games... I don't think it was seen

Weather has been beautiful the past few days, which is awesome since this is my one week of vacation before summer classes! Only a few days left booo. Anyway, I've been busy gardening (and by gardening, I mean taking care of two wide planting pots, because that's all we can have in the city haha) and getting some scrapping done!
Here are a few of my recent layouts:

Loni - So sorry for your loss

I have never done anything for NSD before, I think that I might not commit to taking part in anything now, but I'd love to pop in & see what you're all up to on the day if that's OK? I'll pm Monica to get the chat info. I am excited to do May's challenge though as I never managed to do April's.

~Repost from April~
Happy May ladies!!! Its a busy month for me. ALL my family has a birthday in May, plus a few hundred friends. Ok thats an exaggeration but still. May is always crazy! I'll be heading back home to visit CA next week for 2 weeks, and I can't even wait! All I want is In-n-out! Oh and seeing my family will be nice too haha.

NSD, I like the scraplift idea Ruthie mentioned, the only thing is not all of us post our LOs on 2peas...So this is what I've created, I'll host the challenge if you guys like. This is what I've come up with

NSD Scraplift Challenge:
1. You will be paired up with a partner to scraplift from. This will be random who gets who. If you want to be apart of the challenge you need to let me know by Friday so I can pair everyone up.

2. You have two options to scraplift. You can either scraplift a LO that your partner has uploaded to 2peas, or you can scraplift a LO your partner has pinned on their Pinterest page.

3. Take your time, we are all in different time zones here and I don't want to set a time limit that not everyone can reach so I'm saying by the end of the day, upload your scraplifted project and the source you got it from; either 2peas or Pinterest.

So far this is the list I've gathered of who is in for NSD Sat, 10am PST:

Ruthie
Monica
Rachel
Stephanie
Loni
Melissa
Elizabeth
Christina
Laura Mae

Any other takers?

happy Friday!
I'll be scrapping today, as soon as I get my Etsy orders out. I don't know if it's because it is NSD this week or what, but I got a TON of orders all at once the last couple of days. It's crazy, but good!

I wanted to get my hair cut today & see my best friend's new baby girl, but my hairstylist isn't there, so I think I'll try to do that first thing in the morning. Really didn't want to leave at all this weekend, but oh well!

Sorry I'm so behind, been working about 10 hours a day! It's a gorgeous day today - 20 degrees pure sunshine! I may be going up to Whistler with Jonny to stay at my rich clients place there, and scrap there. This would be a fun challenge as I would only be able to use what I bring!

Please peamail me by tonight 9(pst) if you want to participate in the swap!!!

Swap participants:
Melissa
Stephanie
Rachel
Monica

White Elephant Swap Rules:
$20+ un-used items from your stash
2 hand made items
A card stating to your partner why you think they are awesome
*** Have your swap items ready to show in chat (just in case). Please take a picture and email it to me. I will post them on a Flickr account. During chat, sometime in the afternoon, I will open the swap and I will pick the first name of who gets to pick. Once that person has picked, I will pick the next name. This person is able to steal which will give the last person a chance to pick another stash.

10am is 7am here so could we wait until a bit later for the super fun activities? Is it going to be the regular chat or a virtual one? I'd like to do a virtual chat for the swap for sure - Mon could you help me set that up?

Put me down for the swap challenge, Melissa!

As far as video chatting -- Let's just meet in the chatroom. When we have enough people and/or we are ready, we will start video chatting. You have to be signed up with a Google Plus account to video chat, so if you don't have one already go get signed up!

Ruthie: To post a link to your layouts here, copy the url of the gallery page, then in your post on the thread here, click below the smilies where it says "URL." Follow the steps to paste in your link and create a title, and it should work!

Ok ladies here are your partners for the scraplift challenge! (just to let you know how I randomized it, I took all the participants names and sorted them alphabetically then paired up in order to be fair to the new girls.

Christina + Laura Mae
Melissa + Michelle

Thanks Laura Mae! I'm super excited! I've already gotten some great ideas from you and I'm planning the page in my head right now!

Also, I have some wonderful news! I got all of my marks back and I got the GPA I set as my goal for this year! So I'm pretty darned happy with that outcome now to raise my expectations again for next year!

YAY Christina! That's awesome. Now you need a weekend of scrapping to celebrate

I'm excited for the scraplift challenge! I already have some layouts of Rachel's in mind!

I'm thinking for the swap, it would be okay if you don't have $20 worth of stuff to include. We were talking about this in the chatroom tonight. $10-15 is fine - it's more about the content than price!

Hey everyone!

Happy iNSD!

May already! Time flies by so fast! Doesn't really feel like May, because of the crappy weather we've had... But this morning it's looking quite alright! As I sit here behind my computer I'm overlooking the mess I made last night.. Took some time to scrap.. But it wasn't really satisfying.. I hadn't been scrapping for a while and I really missed it, but it's like I lost my mojo.. I know I don't have designer skills, but usually I am happy with what I create.. Last night? Not so much...

Maybe I'll squeeze in some time today, but I have an appointment at the hairdresser (would like something different, but can't cut too much off because I will want long hair at my wedding day) and we have to do preparations for our birthday party tomorrow

Anyway.. my answer to the discussion questions:

Scrappy: If you had to have one new item from the Spring/Summer CHA, which would it be?
I adore the Atlantic collection by SC!

Non-Scrappy: What is your biggest goal you'd like to accomplish this year?
To be a better (nicer) person and have an open mind

Now I'm off to check out this thread that is already quite long!

@ all the girls: so fun you're organizing all this stuff for NSD! Wish I could come play some more

@ Monica: Atlantic is awesome right? I restrained myself from buying it, because I still have lots of stuff and want to use that stuff first..

Did you get a new hairdo?

@ Loni: so sorry for your loss! Take care girl!

@ Vishae: Welcome! Tell us some more about yourself!

@ Christina: congrats on your accomplishments this year! That's so awesome!

@ Michelle: fun pages!

As said I'll be checking in every now and then and hope to scrap some, but I'm afraid I can't participate in any challenges.. Wish you guys a fun day!
