This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for May 2013. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

The link to last month's thread is HERE.

The link to all projects made for this challenge is HERE.

I am still battling a sinus infection and am not up to chatting. I will catch up with all of you in a day or two.

I hate to miss out on all the NSD fun. I hope you all have a great scrappin' time.

Happy May everyone! We are having a heat wave going on and I am trying to stay cool. Not crazy about hot weather as many of you may know. My cards are coming along. Still have lots to finish but hope to get them done by next weekend.

I made a few mom's day cards, too. They look pretty and want to make a few more for the sweet ladies in my life. Will share soon.

Nylene- Thanks for the new thread. Sending you hugs and some hot tea. Hope you feel better soon. Take care and we will hold the fort down until you return.

Cindy- Yeah, I have been busy in card heaven. So happy that inspiration and an opportunity hit me. It's been a while since I made this many cards but I am handling it well. Your garden is going to be so fabulous! I look forward to seeing some of your flowers. If I was there, I would definately help you plant some of those babies!

Waving hi to you all and hope to see you around for NSD tomorrow. Take care!

Nylene, feel better soon!

Ladies, you have been busy. Is anyone scrapping this weekend?

I hope to get some scrapping done! It's cold and rainy again today, but they say the sun is coming again on Monday.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cindy how did you put your badges in your signature?

Wow I had to hunt for this thread with all the NSD stuff going on. Page 5...definitely adding it to my watch list.

I scrapped 3 pages yesterday (2 speedscraps and a color challenge). Nothing yet for 2peas. Mostly I spent the day enjoying the sunshine and watching my kids play a double header in Ultimate as they wilted in the heat. Seattlite boys do not do well above 60 degrees F. LOL

Spent last night downloading a free bloghop of digi supplies (64 designers--oof...that's a lot of product to still unzip and tag). And I read a book. I know I know I should have been scrapping and chatting but I couldn't ignore the sunshine (we get so little of it) and I can't see my laptop in the sun.

Today I have to redo some of the charts for the boys' science fair poster as they did a 4th trial...would have been nice to know they needed at least 4 trials to begin with...that's 40 hours of data collection alone...argh. I STILL hate Science Projects.

I'm feeling kind of blah...no energy. Don't really want to do anything yet it's so nice outside. Perhaps I should go work in the garden (or that kneehigh patch of weeds as I fondly call it)...

Have a great weekend. Hope you get some scrapping done. Here are my 3 pages:

Hi my Pokey Friends! I decided it was 2013 and we needed a new Pokey Pea badge for our signatures so made one up to share.

Then to add it to your signature first copy this URL:

http://i1022.photobucket.com/albums/af350/cablair47/d0c8f675-9cc7-4c1c-b85e-1e4044439fb8_zps8b41a59c.jpg.

Go to your account, click on the public Info tab. Then go to the bottom of the box and click on Edit Signature. Then paste the link above. Next go to the beginning of the link and type in the word image with brackets before & after the word image. Then go to the end of the link and type in /image, then add the brackets before the
/ and the end of the word image. The brackets are next to the "P" key.

Hope that helps. If you want to add other badges you will need to have account at Photobucket. This is free and easy to use. Save the image to your computer then you upload your image to that site, You can then get a link url there for your item to bring back here and paste it into your siggy. You can store your photos there in private albums if you do not want them to be public. If you have questions just shoot me a peamail & I will help you out!

Hugs, Cindy

CINDY this badge is really cute but it says it's not available when I tried to link it. Says it has been moved.

Well the boards are quiet, so hope that means you are scrapping. I should be outside as it's 80 degrees...absolutely lovely.

Not doing much of anything.

Hi! Just popping in for a minute.
I finished a page last week. Here it is.
Jan 2010

About time I scrapped my son's birth, right? He's only 3.

I'm off again. Sorry I can't stay. My in-laws are coming this weekend. They're great and I don't really NEED to clean for them but I'd certainly felt better about myself if I did. Sometimes I just need the motivation.

Hey all! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I am deep in card making over here and got another order. So this makes me happy. So today I finally took some pics and will share. I love how these cards are turning out. I just hope they love them too.

Debi- You have been busy. That horsehead celesial image is incredible. Your explaination was educational too. Science, is really amazing!

Cindy- Oh boy, a new badge! You did a great job making it. Thanks! I want to put it on my blog too. Yippy!

Angie- Have fun preparing for your guest. You sound like me needing motivation and a little pressure to get moving.

Hope all the rest of you ladies are well. Yes, the month is starting out quiet here but like Debi said, I hope that means you are busy having fun.

Hey there! I hope all of you are doing well. I am doing ok! I got all my yard work done! Now I can sit back & enjoy the fruits of my labor! Along with watering those fruits!
It has been happy & sad here the past 24 hours. I am talking about the 3 women they found in that house in Cleveland! Cleveland is about 30 minutes from here, so we have followed the stories of the missing women since they disappeared. They were held hostage for 10 years. They have been beaten, and chained up and bound in the basement So glad they are now safe, and their captors are in jail.

Nylene- hope you are feeling better. We miss you!!!

Kelly-I am so glad you like the badge. Also glad that you are working on your cards again!

Jenn-glad to hear you are going to be feeling better soon!

Jana-hope you had fun at the SG affair.

Maribeth & Barb where are you???? We miss you!

Well not much to say other then what I have. BBL

I can't believe it is already May 9 and we had 12 inches of snow here in Iowa on May 3-4 which gave the kids two more snow days from school. They were not happy that they now have to go to school until June 5. I also can't believe I only completed 2 pages in April.

Last night I finished up my first page for May...what a great feeling! LOL Thanks for looking!

AWESOME

How has your week been? Spring is finally here...hooray! Flowers and trees are greening

My surgery is scheduled for Tuesday. I am ready for this to be fixed and move on. Hoping to get a little scrapping done during my recovery.

Hi, Pokeys! I vowed last night that I wouldn't go to bed until I had left a note here. After checking through, and signing 10 Cub Scouts books and ordering awards, I fell asleep. I just can't seem to knock this illness. I'm so full of meds that I feel sick to my stomach, but am not seeing a lot of progress.

I have to be better by Wed. because I'm flying to Angie's! I can't take this to them! I actually feel a bit better today than I've felt for 2 weeks. So maybe I'm on my way. Enough complaining.

I have not checked out your work, but I hope to before the end of the day. I can see it on my ipad, but I do such a lousy job posting comments on the ipad. I need more practice.

I just wanted to wish all of you Mothers a Happy Mother's Day. I usually skip church because they rave about perfect moms and I feel so inadequate, but this year they asked DH to speak! So I feel obligated to go. It's just my own insecurities that get to me on that day.

I have lots of Cub Scout stuff to have ready for Pack Meeting the day before I leave, so I you probably won't see me around. I'm sorry for being an absentee hostess this month!!

Jen you are in my thoughts and prayers. I know things will go well for you on Tuesday. How long will you be in the hospital? The Pokey peas are all pulling for you.

I'll be back!

Hey girls! Happy Friday and hope you had a great day. I got some of my Mother's Day cards out and got a few more to finish. Plus those ty cards are still in the works. I have been enjoying these cards and hope to be finished soon. Then what am I going to do?

Yes, it has been very quiet here. I hope everyone is ok. Sending a nice wave to you all!

Debi- Thanks for keeping us going!

Nylene- Wow, you have been sick! I hope you are feeling better so you can enjoy your dh's message and your trip to Angies. Hang in there!

Barb- Did you say snow? Omg, what is going on with the weather. I will talk to mother nature and tell her to send you some sunshine.

Jenn- SO glad you are going to be getting this over with and back on your feet soon. Hang in there!!!

NYLENE I hope it's the illness talking and not insecurities. You are an amazing woman. Look at all you do for those scouts. You raised 4 kids, (I only know Angie) but the relationship you two have seem very close, so I can not imagine why you are criticizing yourself as a mother. Heck, mothering is the hardest job ever. There are no perfect moms, only moms who fumble through and do the best they can.

I often feel badly that I am not a better, more involved, less irritable, more supportive mom, but I do my best...and it's by far from perfect, but my kids darn well better know I love them. When push comes to shove, that's all that matters, right?

SO please whatever you think you didn't do right, let it go. Now is all we have so focus on today.

Brought to you by "the standing on my soapbox" because you hit a nerve lecture series...LOL I'm happy you are in my life and your praise is always so heartfelt. I'll adopt you as my "near-perfect second mom", if ANGIE will let me.

NOW get better! You've had this sinus thingy way too long...it's infecting your thinking.

Debi

Good morning Peas! Hope everyone id doing well. I have not scrapped even though I need to be. I just have no mojo! I think I am going to just pull some pics and put them on paper and get it together! I am starting a class Monday on Designing Doubles-for paper, hybrid and digi scrappers. The main topic is page design for this class. I have a challenge to do before the class begins and just can't get it together. it is supposed to tell a little about yourself and I think there in lies the problem.

Jenn-Glad to hear they are fixing your problem so soon! I know you are probably worried but I know you will feel so much better afterward! Hugs and prayers sent GF!

Nylene- I hope you feel better soon. Make sure to eat yogurt to help your tummy feel better with all those antibiotics. Sometimes sinusitis can take a while to get cleared up. Especially if you are on a z-pack. It usually will take two but you have to wait those five days in-between. I have to agree with what Debi said-you are and have been a great mom! Look at wonderful children and grandchildren you have!

Barb-so nice to see you stopping by and posting your beautiful page!

Pam-have you taken any breaks in your garden? I know I have put a lot of time in mine.

Maybe I will scrap a page of my flower beds-they look so pretty! I love the spring green of the grass and plants-so fresh and clean looking! I need to be sporing cleaning indoors! Well I will be back later-I am going to try to do some scrapping today. Going to have brunch at Becky's tomorrow! My DSIL always makes brunch for Becky, his mom and I for Mother's Day.

Hugs, Cindy

CINDY make a layout of you and your garden for your class.

Speaking of which, I'm going to go out and see if I can uncover mine...there is a garden out there somewhere...

Cindy--thank you for the beautiful Mother's Day post! I hope it's a happy weekend to you too.

I wanted to add my Mother's Day wishes to all of you. Yes, ALL of you! The qualities of motherhood are more than bearing children and deserve to be celebrated too.

ALL of you have mentored, supported, nurtured, served and loved the people around you. It is obvious in the fact that you are memory keepers.

Thank you for "mothering" me in my scrapbooking goals! The creative energy you share is inspiring.

So have a great day, mothers!

Working on my mom's day card and watching the rain move in...why can't we have a sunny day for mom's day? WHY? Kids are still asleep so Mom's Day started peacefully...hope it lasts.

Good Monday morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! I had a great day. Brunch at Becky's house-and it was delicious!
I am beginning a new class today-Designing Doubles at Creative Passions Classes, . It is focusing mainly on page design more then techniques and is for traditional and hybrid scrappers as well as digital. Jana Morton is teaching and challenged us to do a double page layout revealing something about ourselves. I am linking my page and here is the journaling as I do not think you can read it well on the layout.

A Little Bit About Me

Here's the journaling:
Things You may not know about me

1. I have been married to my husband Bob for 41 years.
2. I have two daughters-Kellie & Becky
3. I have two son-in-laws-Jeremy and Edgar
4. I have two grandchildren-Maggie & Bobby.
5. I love scrapbooking-both traditional paper and digital.
6. I enjoy cooking for my family
7. I like crocheting
8. I enjoy gardening-flowers
9. I like photography
10. My favorite dessert is pumplkin pie.
11. My favorite color is blue-all shades.
12. I am enjoying retirement
13. I enjoy birding
14. I went to nursing school at the age of 40!
15. I had a career as a nurse

You probably know most of it already!

We had a freeze warning last night so I have to go uncover all my plants and put my pots and hanging baskets back outdoors. BBL!

Hugs, Cindy

Hi, Pokeys! I am getting a little better each day. I am planning to be well by Wed. when I leave for Angie's.

Thank you for the encouragement re: my Mother's Day discouragement. You guys are the best friends. And Debi, we'd be happy to adopt you into the family...you know we adopted Kelly!

DH spoke in church yesterday and talked about a photo of Angie's Drew in his Superman jammies, looking in the mirror. He had a binkie in his mouth and Angie's caption was "Even Superheros sometimes need a binkie." DH had chatted with Angie that day and she'd had a rough day. He told her she needed a binkie too. His talk was about all moms are supermoms and all supermoms sometimes need binkies. It was a great talk and didn't make me feel like a lousy mom.

Cindy, I just finished my 4th antibiotic since this started in March. I am now just using the nasal spray and am feeling like the infection is gone. I just need to build up my immune system and get myself moving around some more. Lying around for weeks is hard on old bodies!

Jen, I am thinking of you today and you and your doctors are in my prayers. Keep us posted when you can after the surgery. We love you.

I have tons of Cub stuff to finish today for Pack Meeting tomorrow. I still need to do laundry for while I'm gone.

Sending hugs to all of you. I'll chat more when I get back.

Happy Monday! SO glad to know you all had a very Happy Mother's Day!!!

Well, we are hot out here! I think we must be starting Summer early. So the a/c is on and slowing down some from the heat. I did get out all my Mother's Day cards and hope they brought a happy face to all the mom's. Here are a few I made. I wish you could of seen them in person. So soft and feminine.

Mom's Day 2013

Cindy- Your class sounds cool. I hope to take a class or two before the year is out at one of my lss or m's. I have done lots of online ones as you know and want to try one at the shops. Also, your list was very nice. I did know some but learned a lot more about you. That nursing school achievement is sooo amazing! I know you must still be so proud of that. I am!

Nylene- Glad to see you are feeling better. I hope you bring some sun screen and lots of Summer clothes when you come. We are having a Cali heat wave. All that sun I hope you make you feel better. Also, glad your dh's speech turned out great. He must be a terrific speaker and I know you were so proud.

Angie- You are the hostess with the mostess. First your in-laws and now your family. Hope fun this all sounds. Enjoy your family.

Emily- Sure! We would love to see you around more.

Happy to say MY mother's day turned out good. Didn't expect it to...had pretty low expectations. Told the boys, before I left for my mom's, that I would love them to make me a card (but they haven't the couple of years for any of my special ocassions so My Expectations weren't high).

Spent a few hours with mom, took her to play penny slots at the casino. SHe won $300...she was a giddy as a jr high school girl. She even shared some of her winnings with me (unexpected but appreciated). then I came home, made dinner and asked the boys to play Yahtzee (can't remember the last time we played a board game together). We had a great night listening to music and playing Yahtzee.

Time came for bed so I sent them off to bed, when Noah asked if I wanted the cards they made? Ah these cards were so precious...both wrote beautiful sentiment in them...

Noah said, "I was the most amazing, caring, awesom, nice, helpful, kind, cool, smart brillant mother in the world and wished me a spectacular day and to have some fun.

Owen wrote "Mom, thank you for being there for me. You always support me and give me what I need. you do everything you can to make me happy. You are the best mother there is, no doubt. You deserve everything you could want. I hope you get the happy life you deserve, because you gave me it."

Then to top it off, they gave me gifts (a first)--a beautiful set of bathroom luxuries and then Noah gave me a sterling silver heart necklace with Mom written across it. When did my boys start appreciating me? I was very touched. I will keep these cards forever, I'm sure as I stumble though the rest of the teen angst years. But for today, we are good.

Good Morning Ladies! Hope all is well with all of you!

Debi-I have to say your post brought tears to my eyes! I am an emotional person and whan I read what your sweet boys did for you for Mother's day-how sweet are they! Sounds like you are doing an Awesome job parenting!

Jen-You are in my thoughts and prayers, and especially today! Hoping your procedure goes well and you are feeling tip=top very soon!

Nylene- I hope you are completely recovered soon. It has been a rough winter and spring for you! Just don't push yourself and give yourself time to heal. I would have loved to hear Steve's talk in church Sunday. I know it was wonderful, and had many words of wisdom. These guys notice more then we realize! Have a great time at Angi's and don't forget the paper dolls!

Kelly-glad to see you! I wish it was warmer here. I have had to cover my flowers the past two nights for freeze warnings but fortunately we did not get the frost. That is a lot of work but I have to protect them since I am the one who planted early. Will be going to see your cards when I finish here.

I will BBL to post a page-it is on the other computer! This is a problem for me -don't like moving everything!

Hugs, Cindy

Nice to meet you Minna and welcome to the Pokey Peas! You can do as many layouts as you get done in a month-if it is one that is good but you can also do twenty! We understand life can get in the way.

Everyone here is so nice and we will try to be as helpful as possible.
It would be wonderful to learn a little bit about you. I am Cindy AKA Trouble! I am a wife, mom, and grandma. I have been scrapping for 4.5 years. and I love it. I do both traditional and digital pages. I am a retired nurse, and I am totally enjoying my retirement. I do what I want when I want! I also watch my two grandchildren as both parents work. They are 9 and 6.

Here's the layout I did for my first class yesterday. I utilized the template Jana made.

Splish Splash

Thanks for looking!

WELCOME Morissa...jump on in, chat when you can, share all and any projects as you want. Looks like you are well versed in card making, LOs and hybrid projects...awesome!

I'm Debi, single mom to twin 14 year old boys. I do digital only and rarely do cards.

This is a great group of ladies and it's fun to have a small group of friends to show your hobby to.

Hey girls, hope all is well in Pokey-ville!

Just finished weeding and doing more mulching... allergies chased me inside for a while. It is a windy sunny warmer today out in the gardens,so I couldn't resist.

Hope you all had a sweet and enjoyable Mother's day,I know I did. So much to be thankful for.

I am still too busy to scrap but I did get a few good photos of Ruby Jo last week on a visit. She cannot possibly get any cuter!

Well, must get back to it... Soon come Pam

Emily- it's great to see you stop by! Loved your last layout. Those girls are darling!

Minna- Welcome! I'm a stay at home mom of two. I am a digital only scrapper so I don't end up with little hands in my supplies. But I have some card making supplies hidden in my closet. Nylene is my mom. She recruited me because I also need encouragement to finish layouts.

We had a nice visit from my husband's parents over the weekend. And now the kids are excited to see my mom tomorrow.

Better run. I'm hoping to finish a page today.

Have a great week.

I had a quiet and cooler day today. Getting ready to cook dinner and just wanted to check in. So glad you all liked my mom's cards. I wish you could of seen the Prima pp I used. It had lots of instagram looking pics all over the page. So I cut out a few of the images for the cards.

Nylene- Have a great time with Angie and family. Hope you are feeling better too. Oh, the sprakling piece in the flowers I used came with the flowers. They were from Prima. So pretty in person, too.

Cindy- Being a Cali girl, I don't know about covered flowers from frost. But I am glad they are ok. Hope to see some pics soon when they bloom.

Debi- Glad your Mom's Day was very fun and relaxing. The cards sounds so sweet.

Angie- Have fun with your family!

Minna- Welcome! I hope to see you around more. I am Kelly, married and live in California. I love all types of crafts especially card making. Like the ladies said, feel free to stop by and chat, too.

Pam- Good to see you friend! Glad you had a great time with your family for Mom's Day. Plus, I see the warm sun I sent has arrived. Enjoy it!
