Hi all, I too end up with a big mess when I scrap, I take up the living room and kitchen with supplies spread all over the place.

Lilith, I love what you said about letting go of things having to be perfect. That is a wonderful lesson that I learn from all of the GG's. It is inspiring to know that the artists you admire go with the flow and don't get hung up on mistakes.

I worked on a little project life today, but am off to spend some time with the kids in the sun. We rarely get to 80 degrees in Oregon, especially in May! Have fun everyone!

Lilac Gal, try watching Shimelle's last 3 or 4 videos... All of a sudden I realized how easy they are to layer, especially if you cut a bit off then use that same scrap to balance out the other side of your lo...does that make sense??

This one used 3 6x6 sheets, front and back

I've just started getting 6x6 pads in a kit. I can use them just fine for PL but using them on a 12x12 page has me stumped.

I used all sheets from a 6x6 pad for this layout and card:
believe

and this layout: wine cork reindeer ornament

but you could easily do a layout like this too: hello sunshine

The key is to "hide" the fact that you're using 6x6 sheets so have photos or embellishments layered on top of what I consider the seam between two pieces. Also, if you're paper piecing or punching, it comes in super handy.

Hope those layouts give you some ideas.

I find it interesting that you 3 GGs are combined in one chat since your styles are quite different and all very unique! That being said I love you all and think you are all amazingly talented and have been known to scraplift a LO (or 2 or 6!) from each of you. Thanks always for the inspiration!

It is the best thing I have learnt. Otherwise I'd throw almost every layout in the bin!

Astoria150, I made choc chip cookies! My scrapping buddy hasn't come yet, so hopefully I don't eat them all before she does!

Love me some Shimelle! I haven't watched any of her videos in a while though. I'll have to check them out.

Really!? Because everytime I hear myself on a video, I'm like "who the heck is that girl with that high voice?", that doesn't sound anything like me. I think I get excited about the scrapbooking and it goes up a few octaves.

That is so funny! I was taking a video of some students the other day and watching it back I thought just the opposite of my voice "Where did that deep, gruff voice come from?" I'm scared that the older I get the more I'm starting to sound like a dude!

Do you find the mess limits your creativity at all? Distracts you when having to search for something?

Sometimes Michelle. But I won't stop to clean up until I'm done. I just move it over onto another table.

" But I won't stop to clean up until I'm done. I just move it over onto another table."

I'm a little more OCD than that! I pick up between each page or set of pages.

Now, when I make cares it's a whole other story! I usually have to search to find something bc I just keep the mess going!
